"Yeah, good hit there! A bit more to the left Reverend. That head is almost detached Valeros" Ledt cheers up the group from the northern wall and just moves the dancing lights further to the east.
Confident on the victory of the pathfinders, the halfling just leave them space for they to show up, while he is busy looking for the statue his master told him about.

Corey also cheers on his teammates.
"Way to go, team!"
He slings his bow over his back, then draws his morningstar. He waits to get closer when he's ready to strike... if the creature isn't destroyed first.
| ~Valeros~ |
I'm guessing it's a goner but just in case...
Valeros takes advantage of the skeleton trying to stand to take another swipe!
Heavy Mace - AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 261d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
And then wages war on it when his turn comes, "Go back to sleep Boney or we'll unleash our cleric on you!"
Heavy Mace: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 171d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Forgot to note earlier Valeros would've dropped his mwk shortsword to draw his heavy mace.
| GM Valen |
A rain of blows by the Pathfinders leaves the skeletal chimera as little more than a pile of bone splinters and dust, lying within a pool of magical grease.
COMBAT OVER
If you wish to make a flawless rubbing of any equipment, one must have charcoal and paper and succeed at a DC 12 Sleight of Hand or Dexterity check.
A PC who succeeds at a DC 15 Perception check may open the spoiler below:
There are two obvious exits: the door through which you entered and a door in the southern wall, which holds a sign labeled “Storeroom 3.”
Map showing the doors is on Slides.
Which way, Pathfinders?

There goes my crit. :(
"Ooo looky here, I found something! This corpse has a tag identifying him as Galitian Maramaxus! I don't know how he was but he has a fancy brooch that looks like a 'pretty' to me. Anyone want to take a look?"
@GM: Could chalk be substituted for charcoal?
Sylvester Solstar
|
"Take the brooch, maybe it is worth something?"
The gnome casts Detect Magic to see if the fancy brooch has any magical properties.

Sure, as you my not already have any provided.

"Excellent idea! We'll let our resident 'pretty' protector keep it safe."
Valeros pins the brooch on Omrijka's colorful traveler's outfit and gives her a wink while he does so.

"That sounds like a plan to me Valeros."
Sylvester checks out the other set of double doors for traps.
25 Perception on a take 10.
"Hopefully there will be more than a pretty pin on the other side of these doors. Sylvester needs a new pair of shoes."
The gnome pauses for a moment after scanning the double doors as if remembering something obvious.
"I guess we should have a look at this door (single door in the current room) as well."
25 Perception on a take 10.
Assuming it is not trapped I think we should continue on through the single door first. :)
| GM Valen |
Sylvester spots no traps.
One more vote for single door (or 2 for double doors) moves us to the next encounter.
Corenthiir
|
"I suggest we check out the room behind this single door as well. Omrijka, Red Reverend, and myself are looking for some scrolls. Maybe the room beyond is the literary exhibit storage room."
Sylvester Solstar
|
"Scrolls, as in dark proscribed magic?"
The diminutive gnome's eyes light up at the possibility of bringing anything of value back to the Dark Archives.
Ledt
|
Ledt looks only with mild-interest how the party brings out the body of the dead humanoid "Seems not the daughter. That means we need to keep looking."
"So, just as we are here, why not that door to the east" the halfling points to the single door too, but he will keep the distance as it is opened and the others go through and into more danger.
| GM Valen |
Beyond the threshold of the single door to the north lies a musty storeroom filled with boxes and crates stacked in disorganized piles, some only a few boxes high and others reaching all the way to the ceiling. Small puddles stand on the floor, and the occasional drip of water echoes in the darkness.
Entering through the door in your usual order, you see a room filled with boxes and crates, in some cases
stacked to the ceiling. A single unlit oil lamp hangs from a bracket to the right of the northern door. A wooden sign on a door in the western wall is marked “Scriptorium— Quiet Please.” Concealed behind a stack of cartons to the south is another door, labeled with a small sign reading “Archives—Private.”

Gibbering (Su) As a free action, a gibbering mouther can emit a cacophony of maddening sound. All creatures other than gibbering mouthers within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 13 Will save or be confused for 1 round. This is a mind-affecting compulsion insanity effect. A creature that saves cannot be affected by the same mouther’s gibbering for 24 hours.

"Scrolls, as in dark proscribed magic?"
The diminutive gnome's eyes light up at the possibility of bringing anything of value back to the Dark Archives.
"Possibly, Sylvester, possibly. I'm supposed to procure two ancient papyrus scrolls from Osirion down here. Who knows what dark magicks are scribed upon them, or where they even are."
After entering the room, Corey's eyes light up when he sees the sign.
“Scriptorium— Quiet Please.”
"Ahh! Ha-ha!"
Cory suddenly spots the bizarre creature.
"Yikes! What in the gods...?"
He squints to get a better look...
"Fire in the hole!!!"
"Noooo!!! Sylvester!"
"The scrolls!!! Don't burn the scrolls!!!"Using Loremaster ability to Take 20 (23 total) on Knowledge (dungeoneering).
After getting a good look at the creature, he ducks beside the door.

Sylvester notices that his mount has not been as lucky as him and has turned violent in his moment of confusion (see post below). The gnome decides that riding Shaggy under the circumstances is not untenable. He carefully dismounts (this does not provoke an attack of opportunity) and the sorcerer then attempts to carefully cast a Magic Missile spell at the mouther.

Shaggy retreats away from the bad noises that this scary creature is making while begging his owner for forgiveness as he whimpers away.
As Shaggy was not attacked by anyone last turn he gets to roll again to see what he might do. Normally Sylvester should use Handle Animal to command his animal but under the circumstances I think that Shaggy would probably prefer to run away and not be confused. :)

Sylvester winks at Corey comes to his senses.
"It is a good thing that I am wee fellow or you might have clocked me there."

The halfling stays back, observing the battle develop, specially the flashy fireball burning the next room in flames and how the Reverend escapes the hug just in time, and listens attentively for any call for help.
Sylvester Solstar
|
"Ledt, are you planning on joining us on this adventure?"
Sylvester quips back.
Of course we can use your help, always."

Sylvester pets his mount and gets back into the saddle. The gnome laughs as the tiny halfling tries to budge the door.
"Nice effort, much better than I can do I am sure. Perhaps let one of the bigger people give it a try?"

"Why would someone trap a door in their storeroom? Sounds like you just do not want to work." Ledt complains as Valeros just watches while he pushes the wall "Why we little ones have to do all the work all the time!?"
And he renews his efforts trying to move the wall with his little body "Ooomph!"
