Extra if so: 1d4 + 9 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 6 + 2 = 20 It was not.
Unnvar's brutality clearly shows, as fueled by battlelust, in Gorum's name, he lands two solid blows on the captain. The woman shows only defiance, but looks unsteady, her focus dwindling, as she blinks a couple of times more than one normally would.
"Trusting your lives in that rat's hands is a dear mistake."
Grunyak's spear misses, which is followed by a flurry of attacks from Setare. Like in an action anime or hong kong kung-fu movie, the captain dodges the first three attacks. But her physical condition plays against her, and Setare knocks her lights out with the last hit.
Combat over.
Caradoc now enters the scene, clapping slowly at your battle prowess, with a smile of utter satisfaction. He walks to near the captain.
"Well, who's on the deck now, huh. Ironic, if you'd just killed me instead of wanting to have me tried, you'd be just fine."
He turns to you.
"Much obliged, friends. This will make my work easier when i have my own vessel again. The perfect means to take down a captain of her majestrix' navy, is to gang up on them when they're nearly alone and vulnerable, as proven here."
"Well then, shall we see if there are enough provisions for our voyage?"

Setare knows one of the sailors was not taken down by her, but she feels a faint pulse on him. All three are alive, when the group sets sail.
Caradoc found a chest with money in the captain's quarters, handing you each 1,472 gp.

He knows Setare doesn't care for his violence or aggression. When he has a moment. He approaches the Dawnflower devotee. I appreciate that you still have compassion in this cruel world. My experience is that half measures are dangerous, so I'm a killer. That doesn't mean I don't understand that one with ideals is rare and good. The destination being the switcharoo over to Blackjack Jaques' own ship, and then towards the wreckage site. On a moment of slight boredom, Caradoc spotted a wrapped bundle in one of the rowing boats of the captured ship.

Day 2:
The sky is still clouded, but there seems no sign of another storm coming for you.
Caradoc: "Smooth sailing today. A quiet day, in freedom that is, is a nice change of pace, compared to yesterday's weather. May it stay that way, eh?"
Almost as if jinxing the trip by having said that, a massive tremble shakes the ship. As you regain your footing from the moment of unsteadiness that followed, the water some 15 feet off the starboard side of the ship rises up, as a huge shape emerges. Spines and fins adorn the scalp and neck of the creature, it looking at the ship's occupants with interest....and probably hunger??
This beast is a sea serpent. Great and elusive predators of the ocean depths.

Perfectly doable as a readied cast for a passing by Unnvar.
Setare, gut feeling saying she could use some extra protection just in case, casts mage armor on herself. Grunyak assesses the potential need for entering the water, voluntarily or not, and gets into a position to bestow water breathing upon himself and his comrades.

@ Grunyak, sight from previous position would be obscured by the ship itself. Though frankly speaking, given the serpent went from one side of the ship to the other, then diving again, it returning to the current side is a logical conclusion to act upon.
Ikit stays in total defense.
The serpent dives, taking two attacks from Setare and Unnvar, yet only Setare lands a hit.
It is not evil.
While it moves away, Blackjack starts stabbing and pulling at the gullet flesh. He sees he is almost there, causing much discomfort for the sea serpent. One more strike will do it.
Unnvar gives chase, taking one attack from the serpent as he comes closer.
Bite aoo: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25Dmg: 3d8 + 10 ⇒ (4, 2, 7) + 10 = 23
Where it would normally grab him, the buff makes him too slippery to be caught within its maw. But Unnvar dishes out a solid blow himself, as well.
Restless with the situation, Grunyak heads to the rail of the ship, peering into the water. While not clear of shape, he sees a darker contrast below the water. The creature is close by....

Setare gets angry, and peddles swims her way over to the sea serpent.
--------------
The serpent's gullet squeezes down on Blackjack.
Swallow whole dmg: 3d8 + 15 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) + 15 = 23
The serpent, injured externally and internally, makes a withdraw action from the little creatures, that can fight surprisingly well underwater. It swims to the other side of the stern, warily eyeing the pathfinders.

Unnvar still free to move and fast from boots, pursues the creature that didn't go far enough to avoid his attack. Bracing for impact from the inevitable attack he'll take he barrels in for another go with his greatsword.

Blackjack cuts his way out, making the sea serpent shudder in pain. Its many wounds cause its mood to become more aggressive....
As Unnvar moves up, its tooth filled maw snaps out at him.
Aoo bite, power attack: 1d20 + 23 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 23 - 4 = 38Dmg, power attack: 3d8 + 10 + 8 ⇒ (8, 5, 3) + 10 + 8 = 34

Unnvar feels a burning pain, as the beast deeply sinks its teeth into him, before he strikes a blow at it.
