Tsamara the Luminous
|
"Urgh!"
Tsamara doesn't appreciate being stabbed in the chest and her entire form begins to blur and glow, shedding light in all directions. She maintains her position, not wanting to get in the way of Data's bow.
"You'll have to try harder than that," she hisses at her attacker.
You can transform your body into churning light, granting you the effects of Blur and causing your body to shed light as a sunrod. At 7th level, creatures that end their turn adjacent to your luminous form become blinded for 1 round (Fortitude negates). At 13th level, creatures that end their turn adjacent to your luminous form are blinded for 1d4 rounds (Fortitude reduces to 1 round). At 18th level, your luminescence is as bright as natural sunlight, and creatures affected by natural sunlight are so affected if they end their turn adjacent to your luminous form. You can maintain your luminous form for up to 1 minute per day per oracle level; this duration need not be continuous, but it must be used in 1-minute increments. You can forgo the blur and blinding aspects of this ability to instead simply shed light as a torch, though this still counts against the ability’s duration for the day.

The young ghostly phantom giggles.
"Yeah, do not mention that! I'm shy, paranoid, whatever word you want to use. I hate fame. I've done everything I can to avoid it. But the attention is always on me!" the little creature says with a grin.
Onye Dawon
|
After taking down the elf, Onye scans the deck for more assailants. Seeing none, he shifts back into his humanoid form. He draws his bone wand and looks to see who needs healing.
Finding Demm unconscious (or nearly so), he kneels down and activates his wand. "Demm tad-draguni seems in more dire state than his wound suggests. Can Tsamara help him?"

”Who they are seems obvious; they are dead elves…”
Tsamara the Luminous
|
Tsamara watches with concern as Aurora tends to Demm and manages to restore at least a little of the kobold's lost strength. "That's a bit of magic that I don't personally possess, though I think I could make do with a scroll like you did. I'll have to make sure I have one or two, going forward."
She then produces her own wand and gives herself a tap...
Wand of CLW (Self): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 Charges remaining (37).
...completely healing her wounds. As she stows the wand away she looks around, anxious. "That was a really bold move, to just board like that." She moves to peer over the side of the railing, to make sure there aren't more trying to slip close to the ship.

Djahan looks confused and scratches his hair.
“Yes they are … hmmm … Data and Tsamara are right. Why did they do this Kamikaze act?!? They must have known that this is suicidal commando?!“ he asks while searching the elves.
Onye Dawon
|
”This specific ship does not normally carry Pathfinders,” Onye says.
Aurora Arulius
|
"Sea elves aren't in the habit of attacking surface ships" the mermaid proffers. "So either these sea elves are adherents to some secret cult, or they want this specific ship."
Aurora nods to Onye, frowning.
"There are two things that make this ship unique. Us. And our guest. I can't think of any reason for sea elves, cultists of not, to launch an attack on Pathfinders. So there may be some sort of schism amongst the elves.
We need to speak to our guest."

Each of the elves possesses a potion of cure light wounds, one dose of spear urchin venom, a set of masterwork hide armor, a
masterwork trident, five javelins, a grappling hook, a set of masterwork manacles, silk rope, two sunrods, and 10 gp.
If you wish to substitute the potions for the CLW wand charges you have used, you may.
As you move about the deck treating your wounds and checking the dead, the crew begins to make it's way onto the deck.
Captain Veane:
"What the f+*! is going on up here?!
His eyes lock on the corpses on the elves strewn about the deck.
"Who are they?!"
Auroura walks across the deck to Sephriel's cabin, only to be met at the door by First Mate Marzack Mallick.
Marzack Mallick:
"You may want to take a look at this..."
This finely decorated cabin contains a brightly colored Qadiran rug, a small bookshelf, several storage trunks and barrels, and a modest bed. Lying face down on the ruffled, blood-soaked sheets rests the body of a tall, golden-haired elf in elegant bedclothes, his face covered in an intricately carved wooden mask.
Tsamara the Luminous
|
Tsamara stares at the mess and the body of the elf, silent. Finally she lets out a long, drawn out sound that's something between an obscenity and a sigh.
"Fffffff...."
She turns back to look at Captain Veane and the rest of the crew. "We were boarded by these elves," she explains, gesturing to the other corpses. "They came ready for violence, so we took measures to defend ourselves and the rest of the crew and passengers. But it looks like it wasn't enough." There's more she could say, but opts to keep it to herself...at least until she can speak to friends privately.
Did we miss one? Or was this attack some sort of distraction?
Azodian
|
Captain Veane pushes past Aurora and Tsamara, turning Sephriel over and feels for signs of life. Finding none, the captain shakes his head and looks downtrodden at the corpse.
Mallick, standing outside the door, calls in to the captain, "The grey elves are going to skin you alive for this."
As the words sink in, Veane pales and turns to the PCs with a look of pure terror in his eyes. The fear passes quickly, however, and his expression shifts into one of pure rage.
Captain Veane:
“You’re the only ones on this ship I don’t know well,” he says, pointing accusingly at the PCs.
“I’m not taking the rap for this, by Besmara, and neither is my crew. It might not be fair, but when we get to the Mordant Spire, I'm turning you over to them to answer for Sephriel’s death!”
You will arrive at the Mordant Spire in three days. how would you like to proceed?
Data-007
|
His lights blinking rapidly, Data answers. ”You are not thinking logically. With all the evidence lying about you, you blame us? We did not produce these sea elves that attacked us and we defended ourselves and this ship in killing them. Perhaps we should’ve let them run amuck so they could kill you and your crew as well? I did not see any of you fighting them off…sir…”
For one who’s not good at showing emotion, Data looks pissed off…there’s a lot of red lights blinking rapidly in his facial circuitry…
Djahan Ruuh
|
The Tiefling sighs.
"I have often been falsely accused because of my bestial feet, my sharp fangs and my fiendish nature ... and I have convinced those that accused me that they were wrong. Here I have to side with Data. You are knowingly trying to blame us and not just because of prejudice? Please captain rethink your actions." he says expectantly.

"I'm not concerned. There's no likelihood that the Mordaunt elves would take the word of a gang of pirates over mine." Aurora sneers at the Captain.

[quote Aurora]"Can you stand, Demm tad Draguni?"
The withered kobold nods in appreciation. "Demm tad-draguni am fine. Your healing am work good. Maybe your water magic am not as useless as Demm tad-draguni believes." This is the closest thing to a compliment the others have heard in quite a while.
***Now***
Incredulous at the captain's announcement, "You am serious?!?! Fish priestess am right, this am no accident." He muses the issue over for a moment. Since there's time and nowhere for any of us to go except overboard, please let us at least look around Sephriel's cabin and see if we can learn anything."

"Then by all means, find me a killer. But I have a responsibility to my ship and my crew. Every one of you is expendable to me, so if we get there with no resolution, I will happily put you on the chopping block."
You may roll Heal checks to investigate the body or Perception to check the door.
Also notably, Sephriel's bodyguard was not stationed outside his room like usual during Djahan's watch.
Welcome to the actual meat of the scenario. The framing is a bit railroady and vague about why you are being allowed to wander around ship conducting your own investigation, but that's what you're going to do.
Djahan Ruuh
|
"Good captain! Then let us use our time to investigate what is happening here. We will need to talk with the crew and look around the ship!"
Djahan knows that he really is bad with a thorough investigation based on own observation and starts to interview the crew to see if they saw anything of use.

The cabin door shows no signs of forced entry. The lock was either unlocked to begin with or was opened with a key, not picked. They bodyguard certainly was here - you can still smell him - but he hasn't rematerialized from where ever he wandered off to.
You judge the cause of death to be the dozen stab wounds in his back. The murder weapon seems to have been a dagger.
By now, the sun is beginning to peek over the horizon. Captain Veane says to Djahan, "You can question the crew and poke at anything you please, as long as you don't interfere with the running of the ship."
You are now free to move about the ship.
