Anansi the Spider |

Sense Motive DC 20: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
After the first TG drops, Anansi the Spider stops.
Not quite as much ball kicking for Grandma Abigail. Now, Miss, we would appreciate any and all information about the remainder of the TGs around, including the one that has made you s+*$ yourself. Twice.
Diplomacy (Cha): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

DM Dickie |

The concealed door is very simple. A cracked brick hides a handle and the door swings open shockingly easy. A slightly lit room beyond contains murals in this room which are scratched and faded. Several portions of the wall and floor show signs of past chipping. An empty plinth where a statues once stood rests by a small alcove. A breeze flows through a large open window in the span's chamber. The boat used to reach the piling can be seen tied up several stories below. Some rope run through pitons just outside the window. It looks like it was recently hammered into place based on the fresh tool marks. With patience and skill, or luck, it would be possible to climb across.
Map is current. The ropes are represented by the dashed white lines.
It is a DC 15 Climb check to cross in good weather like this. Taking 10 is possible.

Krystal Popescu |

Krystal examines the area and nods. "It seems safe, but I'll go check things out just to be sure." The rogue is in more of a contemplative mood as she shimmies across.
Taking 10.
While she was moving she decided to talk to the others. "I'd have guessed Terisha at least cared about the girls. Worrying about getting turned to rats is bad enough."

Caroliss Kaddren |

"Climbing ropes is definitely not part of a noblewoman's skill set!" complains Caroliss as she sees the path forward to the secret door. "Krystal--can you anchor a rope up there to catch me if I fall?"
@GM Dickie--hoping that with some rope and Krystal taking a lead position, she can catch all of us bad climbers if we fall, preventing us from taking a swim.

Ragnar av Gundrun |

Dylan is incredibly happy to have invested in a masterwork agile breastplate. He eyes Caroliss as if assessing her weight.
How heavy are you including equipment? If Krystal gets my backpack up, and you latch on to me in its place, I may just be able to carry you up.
Minus his backpack, Dylans Carrying capacity before entering heavy load is 200lbs. His combat neccessary kit (weapon and Breastplate) is 40ish. Assuming that Karoliss + gear clocks in under 160lbs, wich is reasonable, Dylan could get her up by taking a 10. His ACP is just 3 because his breastplate is masterwork, so taking 10 results in 15, which is sufficient. He would need another climb run to get the rest of his kit, and perhaps other less climb affine party members.

Krystal Popescu |

Krystal stops and climbs back up to their own side. "But you've done so well. Most noblepeople I've met wiuld have chickened out by now." With a grin, she wrapped her arms around the other woman'[/B[ neck. "Don't you worry. With the rope we snatched I've got ya covered." She delivered a peck on Caroliss's lips.
When Ragnar began to pry, she turned her head towards him in mock shock. [B]"Ragnar dontcha know it's rude to ask a lady's weight?"
Her eyes went back towards Caroliss as she stroked her hair. "I don't care either way."

Anansi the Spider |

Anansi the Spider looks at yet another climbing route that they are presented with. The halfling mimbles,
The Spider my ass!
He asks the Ancestors for Guidance.
Climb DC 15: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 + 1 = 9

Ambriel Kogalnica |

Ambriel takes a look out the window and moves back away from it horrified.
"This is the worst thing so far. There's no way I'm going out there" she says stubbornly.

Ragnar av Gundrun |

Wrong Bloodrager :) but mechanically it works, just get on the Ragnar elevator
Aid climbing Caro: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Aid climbing Amriel: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Aid climbing Anansi: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Have a +2 then!

Caroliss Kaddren |

"Seriously, have some respect, Ragnar! Let's just say I'm light enough that a strapping lad like yourself can most certainly help!"
The noblewoman starts tying some rope around herself to keep safe, and is about to take Ragnar's offer of aid, she becomes worried as Ambriel resists the climb. "But Ambriel--this is how we're going to recover a piece of the Sihedron! That has to be worth it, right?" She looks up at the climb, then back at Ambriel. "Maybe this is a learning experience? There's learning by books, and then there's learning by doing!"
Caroliss decides to demonstrate, hoping to make it look easy.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) - 1 + 2 = 8
"Woah, woah!" She slips and starts swinging from her rope as Ragnar holds on. "Er, learning from failure?" she asks sheepishly. She gets her bearings with Ragnar's help, then gives it another go.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) - 1 + 2 = 19
"Aha!" She seems thrilled with what was a new adventure.

Krystal Popescu |

Climb, Aid Caroliss: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Climb, Aid Ambriel: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Climb, Aid Anansi: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Krystal does her best to assist the others in getting to the other side, including making sure Caroliss didn't call in her first attempt.

Ambriel Kogalnica |

Ambriel eventually relents, although she does point out that cross means she'll have to also come back eventually. In reality it's less she climbs across with some help than she's ported across by others while she strives to not vomit.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) - 1 + 2 + 2 = 18

Caroliss Kaddren |

Caroliss tries to finish off the climb as Ragnar and Krystal help!
Climb: 1d20 - 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) - 1 + 2 + 2 = 15
She certainly needed every bit of help, but she makes it!

Krystal Popescu |

Krystal followed along and got across. Taking 10. Once she was done she gave Caroliss a peck on the cheek. "See? That wasn't so bad."

Ambriel Kogalnica |

Ambriel, who is looking ever paler than usual if such a thing is possible, mutters "that was the.... fourth, no, fifth worst experience of my entire life and I'm around 135 years old."

Ragnar av Gundrun |

Hmm, worst experiences? A lot less bad then contracting Demon Pox from a Schir Halberd, good thing I had proper checkup procedures and found out before it set in, trying to grill Minotaur or getting hit by acidic frog rain while force marching in the open. He pauses
The worldwound is such a wunderfull place. He chuckles.

Krystal Popescu |

"But that means you have your whole life ahead of ya. That's centuries for you elves righ?" she grinned, patting Ambriel on the shoulde.
Krystal merely shook her head as Ragnar described the worst of his experiences. Y'all need to try and get more positive experiences."

Hmm, I outdrank a Succubus. They arent actually immune to poison when they pretend to be someone else, if you ever wanted to know why we Kellids like our booze, thats one reason. I did probably make a pretty dumb face myself when she semi passed out, and switched into her actual poison immune form. Thankfully she was to groggy to murder me and just teleported away.
Perhaps I was just looking to spend some quality time with my Grandson? You booze resistance is considerably above average for a mortal though. Only Ragnar hears a voice in his head.
Uh what? Hello, who is there? He answers in his head, disbelieving.
Must be the stress from fighting humans I dont particularly hate, perhaps a psychological adaptation via reverse humanizing my earlier foes? Yeap, I read that in a book! He comes up with a plausible idea.
Lets venture forth?

Ambriel Kogalnica |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Ambriel gives Krystal a pat on the shoulder and walks away to escape Ragnar's dreary one-upsmanship and bragging. For all his exotic claims she finds him the most human in his habits.

Caroliss Kaddren |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

"You're quite the joker, Ragnar!" says Caroliss, not at all believing him. And undoubtedly overlooking aspects of his Abyssal bloodline that emerge when he's in battle!
"Right, let's get us some more ancient relics!"

Krystal Popescu |

Krystal tilted her head in response. "Well, I'll as for ya if I get seduced by a succubus then." With that, she followed his lead into the area.

Anansi the Spider |

Anansi the Spider clings to Ragnar's back, as the group converse about previous exploits and traverse the building.
I had to walk butt naked through the Red Sands many miles without food or drink during my induction into the shaoti shaman ranks.
The halfling goes to scratch an itch, almost drops from Ragnar's back while they continued to converse and traverse, but catches the bloodrager's back strap, and smiles.
The Ancestors began to speak to me then. They are extremely amused by all our shenanigans.

DM Dickie |

After crossing and re-entering the Crow, the group finds a short passage with murals painted along the walls showing strangely dressed Thassilonian priests placing bodies into crypts. Several niches in the walls may have once been burial crypts themselves, but today, the hall is strewn with bones and the niches lay empty.
Mapnis updated.

Ragnar av Gundrun |

Ragnar takes point, but does not advance forward, content to guard the assembly of his allies. He tries to do so stealthily.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Krystal Popescu |

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
"Hold up." Krystal held Ragnar's arm in place. "Remember, we're dealing with crafty rogues around here. Which means there's lots of traps laid out. See?" She pointed to a thin line running across the hall. She tapped her forehead with a grin before she decided to see if she could disable it.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Ambriel Kogalnica |

When Krystal calls out the tripwire and mentions her intention to disable it, Ambriel moves away to the rear.

Krystal Popescu |

Calistria blessed her with the foresight not to mess up too badly as to trigger the trap. But the line remained and she frowned. "Yeah... let's just not knock it over m'kay?" Krystal steps over the wire and lets it be.

Caroliss Kaddren |

Caroliss gingerly steps over the wire, her legs stretching in an exaggeratedly long stride to avoid contact.
She looks around at the ancient murals and strewn bones with some disappointment.
"The whole damned crypt is looted--how terrible!" She spends a bit of time looking at the murals anyway, wondering if these were ancient burial customs of the Thassilonians.

Krystal Popescu |

"When someone wants to make a quick buck, nothing is sacred. I don't mess with the dead, though. I don't wanna deal with undead crap." She stuck close to Caroliss this time around, holding her hand with her own.

Anansi the Spider |

Anansi the Spider follows along amongst the tall folk. Thr halfling peering about with his keen Senses.
Perception DC 15: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 (+2 Dimdweller)
For future reference, Anansi the Spider will always grant a Guidance to Krystal for Disable Device.
So much dust in here, I can't see s+@@!
The halfling was also ready with that comment, but Ragnar beat him to it.

Krystal Popescu |

Krystal stopped at her feet when she heard movement. "Must be more of the Tower Girls. I can draw some of em in for an ambush like last time. They might think of me as one of them."

Krystal Popescu |

Krystal nods wordlessly and steps forward as if she's known them before.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Caroliss Kaddren |

"Give me one second--I might be able to add to the confusion. Don't attack me when I come back."
Caroliss retreats down the hallway so that her spellcasting won't be heard, then casts a spell. When she returns, she suddenly looks much more like a Tower Girl! Casting Disguise Self.
She then follows behind Krystal!
Hoping I can aid Krystal for a +4 (helpful trait). But if not, this is my bluff roll.
Bluff (Aid): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Krystal Popescu |

"Oooh. Didn't know you could do that. It's giving me ideas..." she winked. "It'd be best if you do the talking then."

Ragnar av Gundrun |

spellcraft on Caroliss: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 that should ID it as disguise self
Huh, partial shape change? No wait, not like a Succubus would, she has just magically disguised herself. So she is not a Succubus! Or is this what she wants me to think? Especially since she is super helpfull with all of he luck manipulation powers? His thoughts race
Stop being effing paranoid, the only Succubus here is 1/8 of you. Any actually Succubus being here would have taken over the city, and not hunt some effing wererats. He calms himself and gets focused again.
