DM Dickie
Ragnar: prone, but it's not very deep, maybe six inches. Please roll a Fortitude save.
Alara Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Ambriel Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Anansi Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Caroliss Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Krystal Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Ragnar Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Well, those were some lousy initiatives all around.
The goblins, four in total, all have dogslicers haning from their belts, however three of them are holding loosely tied sacks made from scraps. The fourth holds a broken broomstick.
Round One!
Anansi and Krystal act before the goblins!
Anansi the Spider
Anansi the Spider grins as the shaman listens to the Ancestors.
Ragnar! Someone named Roeganjoe says (and I quote) Git yer lazy sorry turd face outta dat s@#*! Protect the halfling! Save the halfling, save the world!
The Shaonti shrugs.
I can't access map currently. Would like to distance myself from any potential attacks? Speed 30'

I can't access map currently. Would like to distance myself from any potential attacks? Speed 30'
You're about as far from the goblins at the moment as possible, however you're pretty limited on where you can go. Your options are basically to get back on the plank, jump down to the foul basement, or try to open the door to the next room.
And just to clarify, because the map might get a little confusing: the pit is basically a basement, so roughly ten feet down (probably closer to 8, but for space and threatening purposes let's call it 10). It's also a touch deeper than I recalled when I posted above, ranging about 2-3 feet of disgusting disease filled mud. Enough that it is difficulty terrain moving around down there.
So Ragnar and the goblins are down in the muck about 10' below everyone else.
Krystal Popescu
Ouch. She winced when Ragnar went down into the muck. That turned to concern when goblins came by to what looks to finishing off the man. But she couldn't resist a bit of banter of her own.
"Too bad you forgot the rest of your meal. And I bet we'll be hard to cook."
Krystal took out her bow and notched an arrow at the closest one.
Arrow, orange goblin: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Arrow Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Anansi the Spider
@Ragnar read spoiler +2!
@DM thank you! I missed that goblins were below as well.
Anansi the Spider
The ally gains a +2 bonus on any attack roll, saving throw, ability check, or skill check made before the beginning of the shaman’s next turn.
Add the +2 for any (all) rolls until my Turn, sir! It is like a Mini-Heroism...lol.
Ragnar av Gundrun
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
I have combat reflexes and my bardiche meaning that I will roll 3 AoOs just in case.
AoO 1 bardiche no power attack, prone, guidance: 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 4 + 2 = 9
damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
AoO 2 bardiche no power attack, prone, guidance: 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 4 + 2 = 21
damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
AoO 3 bardiche no power attack, prone, guidance: 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 4 + 2 = 14
damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
DM Dickie
I can't update the map until later, so just be aware that one of the goblins on the map at the time of this post is dead/dying from Ragnar's AoOs.
PoF vs touch: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Duration: 1d6 ⇒ 4
PoF vs touch: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
PoF vs touch: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
Duration: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Broom vs AC 10: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Str DC 12: 1d20 ⇒ 7
The goblins bearing the raggedy satchels hurl them at the intruders. Each toss their bags at one of the heroes currently on precarious ledges. Caroliss and Anansi are both hit with the pouches. Broken glass shreds the rags and spreads filth across their bodies.
Anansi and Caroliss each take 1 point of slashing damage. Both are sickened for 4 rounds. A successful DC 12 Fort save reduces the duration to one round.
One of the goblins pays for throwing a bag of glass and sewage at the crew when Ragnar cuts him down as soon as the pouch leaves his hand. The remaining two throwers snarl and draw their rusted dogslicers.
The broken broom handle wielding goblin snickers at Ragnar and brings the improvised weapon up in its arms, but rather than trying to bring it down on the bloodrager's head uses it to smack the plank Caroliss is walking on still! The board jumps a bit, but remains in place much to Caroliss' relief.
Ambriel, Alara, Caroliss, and Ragnar are next up (in that order should it matter).
Ragnar av Gundrun
BLYAD CUKA EBAT Ragnar gets up (provoking AoO from the broom goblin but probably not the other ones.
And Bloodrage once being upright.
He now attacks one of the dogslicer Goblins within reach, as Mr. Broomstick should be in melee range.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Goblins fight, pretty bad
get smeshed quick Ragnar quite sad
so he makes two gobs from one
but soon the rest will be done
As he slices one gob from top to bottom.
Ragnar av Gundrun
No offense Anansi, but you are the party member I am least interested in exchanging bodily fluids with. Deadpans Ragnar, as his primal urge to deadpan temporarily overcomes his bloodrage at litteraly being covered in s+$$.
Ahahah +9 AB at level 1? Yes, ancestors being very helpfull yesyes
Ambriel Kogalnica
Ambriel, who had been waiting and watching the others cross first because she hoped to learn from their successes or failures, is still on the starting side. Her magic mostly used up back at Heidmarch manner earlier, she has little to offer except her miserable crossbow skills and a cantrip.
She targets the closest of the goblins with a cantrip, trying to stun it.
Casting Daze on the closest goblin, which seem to be Blue. DC 14 WILL to resist.
Alara Shinrin
Now that I've read the thread more closely...
Alara skids to a halt when she sees Ragnar and goblins down in the muck, and instead opts to hold back.
She fumbles with bringing her shortbow to bear.
Move to sheath katana, standard to move to edge of pit and draw my bow.
Caroliss Kaddren
I'm recovering from illness myself, but am working on catching up!
Fort DC12 vs sickened: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4.
Caroliss starts throwing up! She waits for Ragnar to help clear the way before entering a defensive stance and sneaking by him!
Delay after Ragnar, Total Defense, move.
DM Dickie
At the last moment the goblin with the broomstick throws his shield up, barely deflecting Ragnar's attack.
Will vs Daze: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
The goblin nearest Ragnar to the south locks goes from snarling and singing to standing with an open mouth and drooling twice as much as before. Blue is dazed for 1 round.
Round 2
Krystal and Anansi are up!
Krystal Popescu
Krystal ducked her head low, letting the shards sail right over her head. She shot back up straight with a chuckle. "Too slow! You'll have to be faster than... crap." Turns out the others weren't evasive against the shards.
Time to take it a bit more seriously. She took out a second arrow and aimed at the dazed one, which happened to be the one goblin she can get a clear shot at.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Anansi the Spider
Anansi the Spider continues to implore the Ancestors to help Ragnar, as the shaman also continues to puke on the poor bloodrager!
Ma moth serious apologies ma Ragnar!, although sounds a bit muffled and exacting!
Ragnar av Gundrun
Rolling my AoOs in case the Gobs do something that would provoke.
AoO 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
damage AoO1: 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
AoO 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
damage AoO2: 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
AoO 3: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 (pretty sure 16 damag epically murder a gob without the need for a confirmation)
damage AoO3: 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
DM Dickie
The dazed goblin is oblivious to Krystal's missed shot, as are the flies circling his open mouth. He simply stands there as his compatriots do all the work. Broomstick whacks at the plank again, hoping to keep the longshanks seperated, as his buddies cautiously advance on Ragnar.
Dogslicer Red: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Dogslicer Green: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Although Broomstick is unable to hit a stationary board his buddies have more success with Ragnar. Both slice their filthy blades through the man's armor and draw blood. Ragnar, two hits for 4 slashing each (8 total).
Clarification note: orange is the broomsticker. The others are armed with dogslicers at this time. Blue will be able to act normally on his next turn.
Ambriel, Alara, Caroliss, and Ragnar are next up!
Ragnar av Gundrun
F$~% YOU
Ragnar flips out, Rams his Bardiche in some dead body Drops it actually and Slashes with his claws, on the dogslicer goblins that hit him, as a full attack action.
Left claw: 1d20 + 1 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 6 + 2 = 16
damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Left claw: 1d20 + 1 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 1 + 6 + 2 = 26
damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
I AM MAD NOW
He then 5 foot steps backwards.
Caroliss Kaddren
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Caroliss just looks on in awe at Ragnar's transformation. "Well then, remind me NOT to make Ragnar mad!"
The priestess favors Ragnar with a bit of luck! He may roll twice and take the better result on all d20s for a round.
Ragnar av Gundrun
left claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
right claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
the 16 would become a 24
Ragnar keeps getting madder, rapid fire Abyssal coming out of him
Я истекаю кровью, весь в дерьме и блевотине перед толпой привлекательных дам! Должен прирезать этих тупых гоблинов, ответственных за это! Рааааж!
I am bleeding, covered in s@#! and puke in front of a bunch of attractive girls! Must slash those stupid goblin things responsible for it! Raaaage!
I hope someone has presitidigation post fight :)
Ragnar av Gundrun
Bot a daze attempt at the broomstick Gob? Given that she is iirc out of spell slots, and that the broomstick gob is trying to punt the rest of the party into the muck, and that the other still living gobs (assuming Ragnar killed 2 this turn) cannot be dazed since he got dazed last turn, its 95% what she would try to do
DM Dickie
Yeah, she did make it clear she was low on spells. Ambriel: if you get back before the goblins act and want to retcon, feel free!
SGwill: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Ambriel focuses her will on clouding the broomstick wielder's mind and is rewarded by the sight of him going slack for a few seconds.
Round 3
Krystal and Anansi!
Krystal Popescu
"Okay... let's try this again." Nodding in thanks for the magical assistance from the halfling, Krystal takes a more careful aim at another dazed goblin.
Shortbow, Guidance: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 5
DM Dickie
Dazed doesn't deny dex, so no sneak unfortunately, but that will hit!
As the dazed goblin watches little birdies fly around it's bulbous head, Ragnar tears his compatriots apart. One claw drives a gash so deep in it's throat it nearly decapitates it and the other barely has time to try and keep his intestines from spilling out of the open wound before falling unconscious and dying.
The remaining attacker takes an arrow to the shoulder which finally shakes him out of it. Looking around at his dead brethren elicits an, "eep" sound. He backs away cautiously from Ragnar, staring at his blood-soaked claws while slinking back into the pipe he emerged from.
You could choose to end the combat yourselves at the moment or squeeze into the pipe and follow? If following it is: Ambriel, Alara, Caroliss, and Ragnar's turns.
Ragnar av Gundrun
Ragnar, assuming he can see the goblin in the pipe, draws one of his throwing axes as a move action and throws it.
Angry Ragnar is angry: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6 Missing horribly.
He then shifts out of bloodrager, at fatigued for 6 turns and at 4/12 hp.
Second throw attempt: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 1 + 2 = 13 Still misses I think
damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
He is not going to squeeze, while fatigued, into the pipe.
Ragnar av Gundrun
Out of combat?
Ragnar get his Bardiche, panting heavily and looking somewhat out of it.
Some healing and he mumbles words prestigididation, I mean presttigigidation, no prestheattackitation... Ah I give up, great cantrip of "s@ be gone" please?
He looks at the party with surprisingly adorable big puppy eyes.
Krystal Popescu
Krystal smirked in response. "You're talking to the wrong girl for that... buuuuuut. I got the next best thing." She laid the rope down for Ragnar to climb himself out of the slosh pit.
"You guys better get across while you still can."
Caroliss Kaddren
"I've been wanting to learn some basic arcane magics like that. Maybe soon. But pretty sure you could use a different sort of magic too."
Caroliss offers Ragnar a healing touch!
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
When that proves not very effective, she tries something different.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Should've listened to Ragnar.
Ragnar av Gundrun
She is "rewarded" by the blood and s@*# covered mercenary showing her a beamingly white smile and looking into her eyes with (currently unusually large ones), apparently narrowly resisting the urge to hug her.
Just playing up his 1/8 Succubus heritage, way I envision it is he would get "more attractive" but actually ends up in the uncanny valley, as long as he is bloodraging or effected by bloodrage fatigue. He grows claws, at level 4 he will even self enlarge.
His eyes meanwhile keep retracting to normal human size. As he catches his breath.
Thanks a lot Lady Kaddren, do we go through the door? He asks as he motions with his hands at the possible alternative entry point.
Anansi the Spider
Assuming the Sickened condition is over?
Anansi the Spider takes out a handkerchief to wipe his face. The halfling then looks at the vomit, s+&+, blood covered bloodrager.
You may want to just stay that way. Some just are forevermore covered in the s*~% of others. So, say the Ancestors.
The Shaonti grins at Ragnar.
Anansi the Spider then bows to Lady Caroliss in gratitude.
The Shaonti then cast Guidance before examining the door.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 [oox]+2 dim dweller[/ooc]
DM Dickie
Anansi notices nothing unusual about the door. Crtainly no traps. Which makes sense given that the collapsing building is itself practically practically death-trap between the structural damage and the sewer leak.
Lighting is an interesting point I should have expanded on before. There is a glow coming from somewhere inside bleeding through the openings in the ceiling and holes in the wall, but the lighting is a little on the darker side, not enough to cause miss chances from concealment, but there is no telling exactly how dark the next room will be.
Ragnar av Gundrun
Ragnar switches to Battleaxe and shield, phantomimes that he will open the door and motions a count-down.
Ragnar is going to wait 30ish more seconds until his fatigue has ticked off, switches to shield and battleaxe and is ready to open the next door, prebuff friends if you have any! I dont think we have mage hand or open close, "so send in the bloodrager" it is.
Krystal Popescu
Krystal put a finger up to put a stop to such shenanigans. "Maybe wait until after you take a bath before we celebrate," she sniffed.
Afterwards, she nodded and stayed behind the blood rager in anticipation of what's to come.
DM Dickie
That weird room to the west is the shed the hired thugs were standing watch from. That whole thing is very weird, I think they looked at the exp budget and realized they needed just one more encounter or something.
Ragnar throws open the door to reveal a room where the floor has fallen away leaving a narrow, charred ledge along the south and east walls. To the northwest, a ledge heaped with crates and barrels sits, while above the rafters of the attic lay bare to view.
Gobhx: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
A crossbow bolt thunks into the door jamb beside Ragnar's head. Behind the barrels are a pair of goblins wielding heavy crossbows.
Round 1
No need to reroll initiatives, they've acted (well one did the other will next time) so everyone is up! Map is updated.
