Knowing something is amiss, and assuming the lady in black is their leader, Myth moves forward and fires at her…
Should be just in range for Myth’s sniper sneak attack (40’)
From the lady’s words, I assume these are Aspis agents; invoking my once per session Nemesis faction sheet bonus (+2 against next attack against Aspis Consortium agent and +4 damage for goals completed)
To Hit: Base/Dex, Magic, Weapon Focus, Precise Shot, Deadeye Bowman, Deadly Aim, Bless, Faction Sheet Bonus
Damage: Magic, Strength, Deadly Aim, Sneak Attack, Faction Sheet Bonus
Magic Longbow vs FFAC: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 27
Magic/Cold Iron/Sneak Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 3 + 4 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 3 + 4 + (2, 4, 5) + 4 = 24

I'll deal with these two...make sure the others don't escape... he says as he prepares to fend off any attacks.

Kahwen
|
Very often during the follow up exploration, Kahwen wonders why they freed the guy they found in the cellar. He deserves to be tied up underground, somewhere. He's pleased when they're leaving.
He's not pleased to find enemies outside.
He darts around the bushes, drawing his sword as he approaches one of the ruffians. A rapid twist and duck and he finds the man vulnerable before slashing.
+1 keen shock elven curve blade plus Bless: 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 15 + 1 = 30
Slashing: 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23 plus Electricity: 1d6 ⇒ 3 plus Sneak Attack: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 1, 2) = 10
If that hits and the sneak attack applies he is disoriented (-2 to attacks -4 total against Kahwen) and bleeding 5.
| GM supervillan |
Reesa zaps one of the twin warriors, and Kahwen follows up against the same unfortunate.
Barely standing, and bleeding profusely, the man throws down his sword and steps back. "I quit! F**! this." He pulls a potion and quaffs it.
cmw: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 3) + 3 = 12

hammer vs Kahwen: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
A glancing hammer blow batters Kahwen.
"You bastard! The book is mine!" shouts the woman at the back. With a wave of her hand bolts of light shoot forth into Myth.
magic missile!: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 2, 1) + 5 = 14
And then she points her finger and speaks an arcane phrase, and a blast of lightning follows the path of the missiles!
lightning damage: 10d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 4, 4, 3, 3, 6, 3, 6) = 40 The spell is Empowered, for 60 damage; DC19 Reflex for half
Myth and Kahwen are in the lightning bolt's path. It narrowly misses Reesa and Besai. Now might be a good time to use your immediate action Beacon of Luck, rogues, you are just in range!
"Shit! That almost hit me!" Besai exclaims. He casts a spell to quicken his feet and runs off towards the southern hedgerow.

Myth dodges the lightning bolt and sends a brace of his own back. One grazes the aspis caster's shoulder, but still the archer feels he's getting the better of the exchange.
Volsung focuses his will on the babbling enemy, and Grunjar asks Myth to step aside so that he can bring the yellow-robed half-elf in range of a further enchantment. He casts his spell but it causes no noticeable effect. A confused creature has no allies to murder.

Refl: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Kahwen just barely twists away from the lightning bolt but somehow comes out unscathed by it (Evasion).
Kahwen is not at all surprised to see the snake that is the Aspsis Consortium biting its own tail.
There is still one person who is a threat, though and he moves to take them out...going the long way around.
"Excuse me Friend Mykel," he says as he darts past his fellow Pathfinder.
He goes west to just south of Mykel then in a line up to the other side of Mykel then over to attack the agent.

Reesa holds fire, and Kahwen swings for the last man standing, who dodges adroitly.
"Shit! Pathfinders - everything Agent Sloan said about them is true!"
Pothes, one-time aspis swordsman, glances down at his dead brother and mouths "sorry" before turning and running for his life. Withdraw action.
Livilla, Fort vs poison: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 STR damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Livilla, the black-robed mage, holds her side and snarls "You stabbed me Lorenzo! You're fired! No - you're frozen!"
She steps away from her crazed accomplice, and sweeps her hands in a complex swirling motion, and speaks words of power. A blast of cold destroys hedgerow and flowerbed...

Mykel hits Livilla on his '2', so I think I can call this now ;) Only Kahwen was potentially in danger if he failed his save against the Cone of Cold but with Mykel up in Lorenzo's face it's the swashbuckler who'd face any attacks.
Myth and Mykel combine to fell the maddened mage.
confuse: 1d100 ⇒ 16
Lorenzo, in a moment of lucidity, cries out "You can't win Pathfinders! If you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!" He steps away from Mykel before throwing an alchemical bomb at the rondolero...
bomb: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23fire damage: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 1) + 4 = 14
...Mykel adds a few burns to his collection of hurts, but nothing so severe that Grunjar can't patch up.
The bomber goes down under the Pathfinders' counter attacks, and after checking the the book that Livilla carried was not the true Mutani Manual of Martial Mastery (it was not - merely a fake), you make your getaway.
You find Besai trying to scramble up the rope that you left dangling over the wall.
Following the river, you pick up a trade caravan they readily agree to let you travel with them in exchange for your protection.
A couple of weeks later, back at Farseer Tower, you are closely questioned by Venture-Captain Yuul and her lieutenants. She is gladdened that you stole nothing from the kalistocrat's manor.
Harmidio Besai remains an ungrateful foul-mouthed wretch, yet an anonymous benefactor pays the Society handsomely for his rescue, the bulk of which monies are shared amongst you.
You have survived the Ghenett Manor Gauntlet!

Well, I'm glad we came out of that unscathed. Too bad we can't celebrate with a drink or two from a bottle from that wine cellar...there was some quality stuff there. Let's make sure Grunjar looks after that drain you have there, Kahwen...need to make sure your abilities are up to speed...especially if we have to go out again. I think this makes a nice well rounded group...Volsung and Reesa complement the base of what we have... Mykel says as he raises a mug of ale and toasts his companions.
