Blissfully unaware of the danger he was in while holding the doll (successful save vs. aurum death), Tabar rather unceremoniously drops it into a bag, ignoring the poppet's muffled squeals and cries of protest.
A quick perusal of the chamber reveals a few items of interest within the western sarcophagus: two wands that you identify as Inflict Light Wounds and Vampiric Touch, a roll of Bandages of Rapid Recovery, and most importantly, the real fragment of the Shattered Shield of Arnisant. On Zaashakar's body you also recover a Cloak of Resistance +1 and a Ring of Protection +1. You find nothing else of interest within the chamber.
After you take a few more minutes to rest up and catch your collective breath, you head back the way you came, taking a few moments to investigate the one door that you didn't check earlier. It leads to a small room containing four sculpted bronze busts of four different individuals. Each of the figures has been defaced in some manner similar to the statues of Abadar in the chamber with the bridge and pool of carrion. The nearby shelves have been heavily ransacked, with urns and glassware that once contained incense, flower petals, and candles, smashed and overturned all over the floor.
Tabar History: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Birseko Nobility: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Hellebore History: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
After studying the statues for a few moments, Tabar is able to identify them as ancient, prominent members of the Ul-Ravi family, a noble house of Azir known for its history of mercantile success and social prominence. You find nothing else of interest in the room and so you continue making your way back out of the tomb.
Finally, after an incredibly hair-raising and eventful 24 hours in the city of Azir, you've completed your mission and are now free to begin your journey back to Manaket to report to Venture Captain Obo. Of course there are a few small loose ends to tie up, first. A discrete, anonymous note to the Pure Legion with the location of the Grave Wager and the body of the one behind all of the trouble with the golden statues seems in order - though of course you wait until just before you head for the city gates to have it sent. And as it turns out, getting out of the city is much easier than getting in as you aren't forced to endure any lengthy check-points or bag searches like before. After all, why would anyone expect visitors to be taking religious paraphernalia out of the city?
Once you're out of the city, several of you likely finally feel free to relax, no longer fearful of using your powers or having to hide your holy symbols. The trek back will take several days but you know the way and it's got to be better than all of the nonsense you just went through.

Several days later, you find yourselves back in the city of Manaket and within the office of Venture Captain Obo once more.
"Well! I am truly sorry that the job proved much more complex than we had anticipated," the VC whistles when you're finished giving your report. "We'll do what we can to learn more about this Zaashakar and what her motives might have been for trying to steal the shard. I admit, her part in all of this worries me greatly, for that means that either she or someone else out there must have known that this shard is the real thing."
Obo begins to sigh but then catches himself and smiles. "But you let us worry about that one. You've all gone above and beyond and I am sure Zarta will be especially pleased with all of the other artifacts you returned with - especially that dagger and the strange doll."
"I also commend you for fostering the beginnings of what could prove a valuable connection with the Pure Legion," he adds. "Certainly not an easy task for some of you, I'm sure, but we can use all of the allies we can get, whether we see eye to eye with them on everything or not."
"So, once again...well done, Pathfinders! Now take a rest for a few days - you've more than earned it."
The End...Or Is It?

Tabar nods at the VC.
”Yes, I usually don’t enjoy human city missions! Especially because there are so many people that think that non-humans are not really worth the effort! But here with this group I really felt different and that means a lot to me! I mean this country especially was completely weird but religion has its downsides and I understand their path!“
