The universe heard you thinking that you don't care about Jacques!
GM TOP
Looks like it is next to you on my map. It does not have reach and is right in front (1 space west) of Jacques.
Jacques Renard
Ah, ok. I think you've got Jacques and Akimi's icons mixed up (Jacques is wielding a rapier) but it's all good. I'll let you decide if his icon needs to be moved (simplest thing is probably to move him one square to the right of Akimi) but will act on the assumption that we are adjacent.
Jacques attempts to skewer the Blue spider...
Rapier, confident finisher: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
P dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 + Precision dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Confident Finisher: even if this attack fails (I presume it does), it still does half the Precise Strike dmg (but with the weapon dmg type), so 3 Piercing dmg.
... but his timing is off. "That webbing has messed up the weight of my rapier! It is a perfectly balanced weapon - how can anyone expect to fight with spider goo hanging everywhere!"
Jacques loses panache.
Undeterred, the brave warrior waves his tail at Blue, as if to let him know that its spiderlife is nearing its end.
Intimidate to Demoralize (no language penalty): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
If this succeeds, Jacques gains panache.
Jacques raises his buckler towards the monster as if to challenge it forward. "Enough of these shadow games! En garde, monsieur!"
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
Sorry for holding up the show!
Akimi is in full panic mode, their instincts screaming at them to get out, get out of the trap, out of the sticky, move again. But when they look over, one of their new friends is badly wounded and clearly envenomed. Akimi bites back a scream of frustration and yanks out a few items from the new healer's pack on their belt. "Ellen! Hold still a second!" They pull out instruments to draw out the poisoned blood and hopefully lessen its effects, then put a makeshift bandage on the area.
Having something to do lets Akimi settle their mind a bit and focus on getting out of the webbing without panicking so much.
♦ Medicine (Treat Poison on Ellen, DC = Poison DC): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
♦ Medicine (Treat Wounds, Assurance): 2d8 ⇒ (7, 4) = 11
♦ Acrobatics (escape): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Ok full disclosure, I forgot about Assurance when I rolled the Treat Poison check but I'm glad I did because that's either a +2 to Ellen's Fortitude save, or a +4 if 27 is a critical success. Then auto-succeed on the Battle Medicine check.
GM TOP
No worries Akimi. It probably isn't smart to use Assurance vs. Poison anyway, it has a lower total that often doesn't keep up with the ever higher DC of the enemy's poison. Regarding positioning, I believe I made the mistake way back at the start of the room entry. I think I had to move you all into the room because I was an idjit and didn't remove the fog of war. But I recall intending to have Jacques go first for a variety of reasons, most notably because he is first on the marching order. So I just swapped y'alls position and I don't think anything else needed to change.
Dev hacks away at the spider webbing. It is strong and flexible, so he can't quite get a hit to land (the 3rd hit was high enough, but you forgot MAP penalties).
Jacques easily resists the poison. Maybe Ellen is just extra susceptible to being poisoned? Not a great trait for a captain, that's for sure. But that aside, the twirly braggart waves his sword in the direction of the spider and then recovers from the obvious miss to at least add a flourish that puts concern in the limited mind of the arachnid.
Akimi manages to swallow their fear and focus. Quickly injecting a liquid to slow the spread of the poison they reassure their patient that it is probably really weak stuff while they provide a quick back slap to help Ellen cough out the really nasty poisonous flam accumulating in her lungs. And then with their focus returned they repeat the spin that Jacques completed earlier, snapping the webbing apart easily.

After Dev fires a bolt into the wall near the spider, Ellen manages to resist the poison which leaves Akimi to do what they are really good at... killing.
Biting down and shaking their head like a wild animal, the spider's legs spray off in different directions. The head then pops off the thorax, falling to the ground. The vermin is quite dead.
Combat over. Anything being done about those minor injuries or take the time to do anything else in the room?
Prince Ellen
Ellen sighs, wiping off her hands. "Phew! I was concerned mine might not be the biggest rach in the room," she grins.
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
Akimi plops down on their butt and spits weakly. One of the spider's many eyeballs flops out of their mouth with a wet splat. "That," Akimi says somberly, "tastes super gross."
After taking a moment to collect themself, Akimi waves over Jacques and Ellen. "Let me--" They stop, spit again, wiping their tongue with their handpaws, then try again. "Blugh. Let me see those wounds." Thirty minutes later, they have patched up the three of them who actually got injured as best they can.

Hero point to Akimi for spider dominance (and excellent RP of a fear). Hero point to Jacques for being Jacques this whole dang time, it’s got to be tiring.
But where do the foxes and lone human go (or do) next?
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
Yay! All the gross mouthfuls of spider guts and unadulterated terror were worth it! *cheers, then vomits*
Akimi shrugs and points to the only door that doesn't lead out or somewhere they've been before. "Might as well carry on." They sidle up to the door, gingerly stepping over mooshed spider pulp, and check the entrance for any dangers.
Perception on the door for traps! Per +7
Jacques Renard
Jacques lets out a cheer as the final spider collapses. "Did you see how scared both of those vermin were? If everything we find in this fish camp is as timid as them this should be easy work for us!"
Jacques takes some time to search the room, checking to see if the Spiders somehow had some treasure stashed away.
For my own record keeping: Jacques can use his Invigorating Fear reaction again in 30 minutes (it's a once/hour power).
Re the question of the correct math for Ellen's Strikes, this is one of the criticisms of PF2 that I've seen: that despite the apparent large numbers of options that characters get to choose, many of the most crucial aspects of gameplay are baked in and also likely to be identical for every character. This is especially true at low levels: pretty much everyone is going to have a +7 attack at level 1 (+2 for trained, +1 for level 1, +4 for ability modifier which is almost always going to 18 in one's primary stat), +8 at level 2 (+2 for trained, +2 for level, +4 for ability modifier, etc.). This becomes a little less so as you get to higher levels (because different classes will advance their proficiency at different rates) but even then it will still be true that almost every - say - level 20 Fighter is going to have nearly the same attack roll as every other level 20 Fighter, and ditto for every Level 20 Monk, Wizard, Rogue, etc.
GM TOP
Jacques easily discovers that a thick cloth has been draped over a torch on the South Wall. But it is no ordinary torch as he pulls the cloth away, light flashes from beneath it to reveal a normal looking torch that is flickering like it is lit, but gives off no heat.
Crazy.
Akimi does not notice any traps or dangers on or around the door. Once someone pulls it open they see a simple hallway.
Wooden doors line each side of this U-shaped hallway. The largest of these stands in an alcove along the eastern wall, flanked by hooks and benches. Cobwebs hang thick in the southwestern portion of the hallway.
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
Akimi sidles up next to Jacques. "May I see that?" Akimi turns the strange torch over in their hands, studying it.
I would like to try and Identify Magic on it, if everyone's okay waiting another 10 minutes. I believe it's a secret Arcana check. Akimi has a +8 in it.
Of course, metagaming-wise, we all know what it is, so if in-game you want to just be like "whatever Akimi it's a weird torch, let's just take it and go" I totally understand. :D
GM TOP
Akimi thinks it is a torch that glows. More specifically, they easily recognize it as one of the most common magical items in existence, an everburning torch.
Jacques Renard
While Akimi is examining the torch, Jacques studies the cloth that was draped over it attentively. "Do you think that these spiders could have draped the cloth over the torch themselves? Quite handy, for spiders... Why, if I'm not mistaken, we have a mystery on our hands! Fortunately, I am well known in three kingdoms for my mystery solving powers! Why, did I ever tell you of the time...blah blah blah"
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
Akimi slaps their forehead, pulls out their journal, and jots down a quick note:
Who covered the everburning torch? Why?
Under that:
- Spiders? Intelligence for that? DOUBTFUL
They dry the page, snap the journal shut, and stuff it back into their pack. They consider the two torches, snuff out the mundane one, and stow that as well, before picking up the everburning torch and stepping into the hallway, doing their level best to ignore the chattering swashbuckler while subtly trying to nudge the braggart out front as they move down the corridor.
Go, meat shield, go! XD
Going to keep doing Search, keeping an eye out for traps as we go.
Prince Ellen
"Hey, if you're gonna take the fancy torch, can I have the boring one back? Just seems... a little rude, maybe..."
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
Akimi's mouth drops open in horror. "I am so sorry! I didn't even think! Sorry sorry sorry here have the cool one I'll just keep the regular one it's fine oh gods I'm an ass" Akimi shoves the magic torch in Ellen's hands and fumbles with their flint and steel to re-light the normal one, their rambling trailing off into a near-whisper of self-deprecation and mumbled apologies that Ellen probably can't even hear anymore at this point, finally falling silent again. The tirade hasn't stopped, however, just transferred into Akimi's head.
Stupid stupid STUPID just take the big cool fancy everything Akimi, you selfish jerk! You get the cool new healer's kit and the magic torch and if we find a great big magic punching... thing... you'll probably take that too IT JUST AAALLL BELONGS TO AKIMI DOESN'T IT gods no wonder you have no friends
It continues ad nauseum.
It is also happening in my head, so art imitates life here. I am such an ass. I was just like, "Akimi is carrying the torch so Akimi continues carrying the torch," not thinking about the fact that it's a dope magic item and maybe somebody else might want it too. Sorry! :S
GM TOP
I am 100% sure that NO ONE thinks you are an ass. Also, excellent RP there of how your character feels. Also great RP from Ellen to pull that out. Y’all are great, keep it up!
Just give me a door you want to open and we’ll move out of the hallway.
Prince Ellen
Ellen's muzzle scrunches up and her eyes open wide. "Oh, no no no! I just meant, you know, you can keep the fancy one--you did all the work to identify it!--I just want to make sure that-- oh no oh jeez here!!"
And then the two of them devolve into trying to foist the fancy heatless torch into each others' paws.
Jacques Renard
Yeah, I'm loving the rp here!
While Akimi and Ellen play hot potato with two torches, one of which is actually aflame, Jacques continues his efforts to play investigator. "If the spiders had covered the torch, they must have had a motive. That's well known, in every mystery, the miscreants always have a motive... Now, the question is: what motivates a giant poisonous spider? If these spiders are anything like us, they were probably acting for love!" He glances down at the two shattered spider corpses and flicks his tail a bit sadly. "It seems clear that these two wanted some private time, some alone time, some time together in the shadows - they were just settling in to a romantic pas de deux when we arrived. But if that's the case, WHOM did they want privacy from!?! Not us! They didn't even know we were here! Clearly they were seeking privacy from someone else. No, I suspect that there is a jealous husband somewhere nearby. Or a jealous wife. Or both! We must be en garde!" Jacques glances up from his speculation and sees Akimi jotting in the notebook. "Oh excellent, excellent! I knew that bringing a scribe on this adventure would be wise!"
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
By the end of the fiasco, Akimi actually has no idea if they're holding the regular torch or the magical one, and doesn't want to burn their paw testing it, so they just try to hide inside their cloak from the embarrassment of the whole ordeal while moving down the corridor.
They do pause momentarily to wonder at Jacques' shocking display of misplaced creativity. And now they're thinking about spider sex, and now they very badly want a bar of soap for their brain. This swashbuckler's going to be the death of me, they think miserably as they look over the first door they come across.
After a thorough inspection, assuming they find it safe, they nod to Jacques to open it. Maybe if there's a trap I missed, he can blather at it until it breaks! They do feel kind of bad pushing Jacques in front of them to open doors and whatnot, but they can't help if they're squishy!
Tama ripples once and looses a small, soft, chiding vibration. Akimi scowls at the floating orb and waggles the torch at it until it backs off slightly.
Jacques Renard
After Akimi finishes preparing the door for him, Jacques opens it boldly. "If those jealous spider spouses find us first, things may go poorly. We should try to find them before they've seen the uh bodies. Perhaps we can reason with them."
Prince Ellen
Ellen gently strokes the floating orb when it happens near her-- or tries to, if it's flighty.
"What a tangled web we weave," she sighs at Jacques's... probable delusions.
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
Tama's surface ripples at Ellen's touch, giving off a soft, humming vibration that sounds very similar to a cat's purr. It takes a position hovering near the monk. Akimi may or may not be glaring jealously at the orb.
GM TOP
Akimi checks the door over and declares it safe. Jacques pushes it open. The room is densely packed with spiderwebs.
I’ve rolled your scouting perceptions for this room already, y’all don’t see any immediate dangers. Once you move in I’ll post the room description.
Jacques Renard
Jacques moves into the room, rapier in hand. "here spidey, spidey, here..."
Miyazaki "Dr. Truffles" Akimi
I think you're going the wrong way, Jacques! That's the hallway. XD
Akimi gently grabs the swashbuckler's arm and guides him toward the room he was about to walk away from, then follows him inside.
Jacques Renard
Jacques claps Akimi on the back with a laugh. "A chef. A scribe. A guide. Is there anything you cannot do!?! You are a true renaissance fox!"
GM TOP
SO DANG CLOSE JACQUES! One more space and I would have gotten a free reaction bite at you. Durned it.
Jacques and Akimi bravely move into the densely packed webbed room. They wave their weapon and torch around respectively, looking for spiders but hoping for puppies (or something else cute).
Ellen yells out a warning from the other room, "I know I really should be scouting ahead of you all but this other room smells really nice. Like Cinnamon Bread. So uh, be careful or something!"

I can't remember: in PF2, if someone hasn't acted yet does that mean they can't take reactions? That is, can Jacques freely move over to Orange (I'm assuming that's the creature at the far left of the room? There's no orange color on the token) without worrying about reaction attacks from Yellow and Green? Also, since they are in the webbing above, can Jacques move directly there going through Green's square? Or would he have to go through the table's squares (and if so, does that require an Acrobatics check? Difficult terrain?)?
Jacques waves his tail at the Green spider, hoping to scare it.
Single action to Demoralize Green
Intimidate vs Green's Will DC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 I'm assuming that's a success (maybe a critical success?) in which case Jacques gains panache. He will also use his Invigorating Fear reaction (if it has been 1 hour since the previous fight?) to gain temp hp equal to 3 or the level of Green, whichever is higher.
Single action to Strike Green, with Confident Finisher
Rapier: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 If Demoralize caused Green to be Frightened then that reduces its AC by 1 (or 2 if the Intimidate was a crit); also maybe they are flat-footed (I can't remember if PF2 has that or not at the start of combat...)? So, maybe this is a crit...
P dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 + Precision dmg (from Confident Finisher): 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
If the attack was a crit then the dmg above is doubled and also add:
Deadly (from rapier): 1d8 ⇒ 1
Jacques has 1 action remaining - I'll wait to see whether Green is still alive before deciding what to do.
Also, Jacques no longer has panache (due to using the finisher) but the rules say that the GM can award panache for reasons besides the specific skill checks that the class and style allow (i.e. Tumble Through and Demoralize) - if he just cut down Green before it ever acted, is that panache-worthy?
GM TOP
1) If you have not acted, you do not have reactions yet. Jacques can freely move to orange without concern about reactions from Yellow or Green (I have now added the orange border to prevent further confusion). It is also VERY UNCOMMON for enemies to HAVE reactions like AoO's in PFS2, so generally speaking most of my players ignore the risk of an AoO until that kind of ability is confirmed. Y'all are of course allowed to be as cautious or reckless as you wish with your PC's.
2) Jacques (or anyone else) CAN walk directly under yellow and green without needing any tumbling action, this also means he would have to somehow get up on the ceiling in their square to tumble through them. Orange is on the ground though, so they are fair game at the moment.
3) No difficult terrain here (table or webs).
4) It has been slightly more than 40 minutes since the last fight so no Temp HP.
5) The Demoralize is a success, but not a crit success. Panache Gained.
6) You need 'Surprise Attack' to get an enemy to be FF to you just by acting before them (or maybe use a different exploration activity).
7) Even Feared 1, a 24 does not crit this spider. It also does not drop from the 15 damage.
8) I believe you actually need to roll something and take an action to get panache other than the methods given by your class. Simply succeeding at an attack roll, even if it was a really good roll, won't do it. We could talk about this on Discord if you disagree.
Jacques Renard
Great - many thanks for all these answers - very helpful.
Jacques attempts to also scare Yellow:
Demoralize vs Will DC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 If a success, besides the spider being Frightened 1, Jacques also (re)gains panache.
Green and Yellow are both now immune to Jacques Demoralize for 10 minutes
All of Jacques' actions for the round: Demoralize, Strike, Demoralize

I take it then that even though they're above the floor they're in melee range?
Akimi looks at the bevy of new enemies and decides they at least know how the spiders work. They also kind of feel bad for nudging the swashbuckler in first.
They glance at the weird spider-person-thing, trying to remember if they've read about them somewhere. They seem to recall Hong mentioning something about these creatures living in the Forest of Spirits maybe? They call out any information they remember.
Occultism: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Then they skitter around to the left and try to gauge the creature on the wall for weak points. Maybe the thorax? No--What about the sort of... neck...ish... area? No--gah! I can't get a good bead on it! They opt not to attack rather than make a critically poor attempt. Maybe if I can remember something about them, that'll help?

Akimi is all out of sorts. Just wandering around a bit they seem to have a nervous chatter going, "So the big spider thing is from the forest of spirits. Or was it the spirit of the forests. Gah! Well anyway, they definitely use webs to catch prey, or maybe just for a house? Or I guess they maybe even eat webs? DOUBLE-GAH! I don't know!!!"
They dart over next to the nearest spider, "Alright, here we go. Gonna bite this one hard and... well actually, that one looks very dirty. I think I'll wait until later. So spiders, as you all know, have eight legs. I think. Or is that six legs and two hands?"
Akimi shuts up and blushes, hard. Knowledge SHOULD be their strong suit, but they are bombing it bad.
Jacques ignores the chattering Akimi, waving his tail to frighten both spiders and then confidently pierces one hard before pulling his weapon away. The spider teeters and almost collapses, but gets a second wind ready to strike and murder some tasty prey!
But its friend or lover or husband or concubine gets to act first! It bites at Akimi, then Jacques.
