Abeowin N'thera |

Bey summons a Sprite in the middle of the mix, after quickly sliding the window curtain aside.
Surrender we don't wish to fight. Bey yells at the monkey goblins in common.

GM Ventiine |

Smithy
The goblins are caught off guard by the peeping Brodigan and the party gets a surprise round! Asher and Mauro both run towards the front door of the smithy. Abeowin summons a celestial spite inside the house from behind Brodigan. Becky inspires her allies with insight. Brodigan attempts to splash the red monkey goblin with acid and thanks to Becky, is just able to hit his target! The red monkey goblin howls in pain, looking injured. Anne adopts a defensive position next to Brodigan.
Abeowin tells the monkey goblins to surrender but they don’t seem to understand what he’s saying.
Blue wakes up and is so startled by the commotion that it rolls off the bed, falling a short distance to the floor! Yellow and green both reach for their shortspears and attempt to stand up, provoking from the summoned sprite!

Asher runs into the doorway and turns to the north. He cannot close the distance and still strike, so he taunts the monkey goblins to have one attack him.
Surprise, ya stinky beasties! Come get some!
If a monkey goblin comes within reach, Asher will strike it with his sword, with a two-handed grip.

Crispin Xantrian |

Crispin loads his light crossbow and moves to where he can see the door. "Monkey Goblins? As if the standard Goblin wasn't bad enough!"
Staying well away from the door and ready to shot any target he has a clear shot at. Will not fire into Melee.

Abeowin N'thera |

Unless you prefer otherwise my summons will just act on my initiative.

Smithy
When the yellow and green monkey goblins attempt to stand up, the summoned celestial sprite twirls in a circle with its shortsword, cutting the two goblins across the cheek!
Asher runs into the building and dares one of the monkey goblins to attack him! Crispin loads his crossbow and moves to a safe vantage point where he can watch the door. Abeowin continues to speak in Common and shoots forth a wispy green acidic viper from his palm at the blue monkey goblin! Abeowin's summoned celestial sprite sprays the yellow and green monkey goblins with a blast of rainbow colors! Perhaps the mundane nightnap provided the yellow monkey goblin some protection because it seems unaffected. The green monkey goblin, however, is devastated by the attack! It (green) drops its weapon and falls to the ground unconscious!

"Got you covered, Ash!" Brodigan calls out, seeing the Goblin slice at the ranger. And as he utters some arcane words, a blast of force impacts the creature red.
Force Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
And he gives a slight nod to Anne as he releases the blast.

JeVeAnne Brumbleburr |

At the nod from her master, JeVeAnne rushes in to aid her allies.
She rushes around and into the building and slashes defensively with her dagger to keep a foe occupied and to prevent a flank from forming on Asher...or maybe create a flank opportunity he can use.

Becky moves closer to the front door of the building while continuing the bolster her party's efforts. Brodigan harnesses raw magical energy to blast the red monkey goblin! Anne double moves (60 feet) and looks like she’s ready to defend against anything that comes her way. Mauro finally makes it into the building, horsechopper at the ready! Asher raises his sword above his head with a burning vengeance but misses his target by mere inches!
The blue monkey goblin stands up and reaches for its short spear. The yellow monkey goblin yells at the sprite in goblin and tries to inflict damage with their short spear!
To hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Short spear (melee): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Even with Becky's encouragement, the nightcap-wearing goblin (yellow) just manages to land a jab on the summon, and the celestial sprite poofs back to its home plane!

JeVeAnne Brumbleburr |

Ah, I see. I thought the mustard area was a tent covering thing that extended off the entrance to the purple area. Totally my mistake. Incidentally, though, combining the armored kilt with her lamellar cuirass makes it count as medium armor, so she can only move 40' on a double move, so I'll adjust that and retcon the narrative.
JeVeAnne moves forward towards the entrance of the smithy and ensures that Becky can safely move up behind her.

Crispin makes his way inside, behind Mauro, and focuses raw magical energy on the red monkey goblin! The creature (red) looks very injured. With his years studying linguistics, Abeowin recognizes the general message "no interrupt adulthood" so he climbs through the window and into the building, pleading with his companions to stop attacking.
The red goblin monkey, however, continues to attack Asher and successfully stabs the ranger!

Mauro Ocela |

These guys are tough - Red is still up and fighting after taking 10 HP. If we want a prisoner, I think our best hope is green. Also, does anyone have the daze cantrip available - it will make things a lot easier...
@ Gm Ventiine : What are the pink happy faces on the map?

Great idea, Mauro, but I didn't take daze since enchantment is one of my opposed schools.
"Don't exactly have a disarming spell, Abeowin, and kinda have to keep Asher alive," Brodigan says as he once again flourishes his hands, speaks arcane words, and blasts the Goblin attacking Asher red

Becky warns the monkey goblins in Common, but they either don't care or just don't understand the language. She fires an arrow, but the shot is too wide. Brodigan sends a force of magic towards the already very injured red monkey goblin and it falls to the ground, dead! With the red monkey goblin dead, Anne moves over to the blue monkey goblin and swings defensively at it but misses by a wide margin. Anne goes in an angle towards Becky, then her faces hardens in a look that is intended to be determination, but just reads as a cute little child trying to look tough and moves towards the Goblin and swings in her defensive way.

Dropping her bow, Becky draws the healing wand and makes her way closer to the fight.
Bardic Performance (Naturalist)]: Lingering Performance Round #2 of 2.

GM Ventiine |

Smithy
Crispin fires a bolt into the yellow monkey goblin's shoulder. Becky draws the healing rod and moves next to Crispin. Brodigan conjures acid on the yellow monkey goblin and it sizzles painfully into the creature's skin! Anne maintains her defensive pose but her swing is sloppy and misses!
The yellow monkey goblin, with a bolt sticking out of its arm and acid burning its flesh, does something unexpected. After looking at both of its dead allies and the unconscious one behind him, it drops its short spear and starts talking to Asher and the rest of the party in goblin! The quivering creature raises it's arms in the universal sign of surrender.
The green monkey goblin is still face down on the floor for another six seconds, but could easily be restrained.
We are out of combat, but the party is free to do what they wish with the two remaining monkey goblins.
Among the mess the monkey goblins have created, there are two masterwork machetes, a masterwork chain shirt, and a +1 darkwood buckler, which appears to have had a new arm strap affixed recently. You are also able to salvage 40 metal arrowheads from the debris. While the metal arrowheads are not useful in their current state, a character with Craft (bows) could make complete arrows from these at no additional material cost (as the other materials are easy to obtain on Ancorato.)

Mauro Ocela |

Mauro races past the surrendering yellow monkey goblin, and pins green while it is still unconscious...

Brodigan Fallemar |

Brodigan maintains his spot at the window keeping his hands leveled at the surrendering Goblin and says, "I don't suppose anyone speaks Goblin? Can anyone cast comprehend languages? Bare minimum, can we try drawing picture in the dirt, see if he understands?"

Asher 'Cinnis' Regillenus |

Asher points his sword at Yellow and makes hand signs for him to raise his hands.
Does anyone speak their tongue?
And.. Becky is it? A spot of healing would be nice. This smarts.
Asher has Craft Bows, so he can provide arrows for both himself and Becky. I don't know if I can make crossbow bolts from them as well. If so, I can forgo arrows for myself and craft some of those.
Can Asher take the +1 buckler? It'll give him the option of going 1H with the longsword when he needs a bit more defense. If anyone else at all wants it, he'll let it go, and ask for the MW chain shirt, as it'll be a good base for enchanting later.

JeVeAnne Brumbleburr |

JeVeAnne moves slowly to stand just in front of Becky in a defensive stance keeping her eyes locked on the surrendering Goblin.
Would love that buckler for JeVeAnne unless someone else needs it more.
Happy to let Asher have the buckler if you need it or you could have JeVeAnne's current masterwork buckler (+1 to AC) if you're just looking for that emergency AC boost? I'm good either way.

Crispin Xantrian |

"Sadly I don't have the Tongues spell, nor can I speak Goblin." Crispin sighs. "Bey, can I have some of those strips you prepared? We can use them to bind these things."
Nothing Crispin can use in the loot. So divide it how you want.

Abeowin N'thera |

Bey takes the strips from his pack and moves over to Mauro. Here lets bind him. Then bind the other.
Bey tries the languages he knows,Aquan, Common, Elven, Gnome, Halfling, telling the monkey goblin what is expected of him and that he will be tied up.
assuming there is no comprehensible response,
Linguistics to try to make myself understood. Hope this works. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Bey proceeds to mime the intentions of the group to the remaining awake goblin.
While miming, he walks over and kicks the "loot" out of the reach of the goblins.
Nothing that Bey can use in the goods.

GM Ventiine |

Smithy
The monkey goblins don't seem to understand Common, but they know a few words in Aquan. Their Aquan is absolutely horrendous and one might assume they've only been able to pick up a few words due to living in an isolated island environment.
With Abeowin's linguistic ability, the party's permission to allow one of the monkey goblins to draw in the dirt using its tail, and the goblins' (terrible) broken Aquan, the party is able to piece together a few things. The party learns it was the monkey goblins who lit the forge because they wanted to "improve" their weapons. They belong to the "Ghosthater tribe," so named because their tribal coming-of-age ritual requires monkey goblin adolescents to face down a ghost without showing fear. The monkey goblins give the party enough description, that the party knows the ghost is in area L of the island. The whole exchange takes a painfully long time, because the party and goblins are limited to drawing in the dirt, hand miming, and trying to decipher the few words in Aquan they understand.
From observing the creatures, Becky realizes the monkey goblins can use their tail like a hand, except they are only able to lift light objects with it (no weapons because of the weight.) Their hands and feet also seem designed for climbing trees.

Asher 'Cinnis' Regillenus |

Far be it from me to stand in the way of a lady picking out a new bauble.
Asher graciously hands JeVeAnne the +1 dark wood buckler and accepts hers, strapping it to his bow arm.
Mauro, is that armor to your liking?

JeVeAnne Brumbleburr |

JeVeAnne gets a huge smile at Asher recognizing her enthusiasm for the buckler and letting her have it, then looks uncertainly at Brodigan who gives her a nod.
The Halfling gal then happily takes her buckler off and helps Asher get it situated on his arm and then straps the darkwood buckler to her arm, all the while glancing suspiciously at the Goblins.
Thanks, Asher! Btw, the buckler from JeVeAnne is masterwork, so could be magically enchanted later. Also it gives you the +1 to AC, but has no armor check penalty.

Becky Beys |

Becky uses one of her spells to cast a cure light wounds spell on Asher.
cure light wounds (Asher): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Crispin Xantrian |

After listening to the painful interrogation of the Monkey Goblins Crispin asks in Aquan. "Do you have any information on the missing Colonists?"

GM Ventiine |

Smithy
The two monkey goblins, who are tied up and cowering with their tails intertwined don't seem to understand Crispin's question. In Aquan, the yellow one says, "Not know this you home. We not come back. Promise." The green one gazes forlornly to the trees, then nods vigorously when the other one speaks.

Mauro Ocela |

...
Mauro, is that armor to your liking?
"No Asher, I prefer heavier gear"
****
During the interrogation, Mauro tried some languages that Bey didn't know - Aklo, Undercommon. I am guessing with no success

Asher 'Cinnis' Regillenus |

Asher makes a show of running his fingers through the monkey goblin’s mane, and bringing them up to his nose to sniff loudly.
Asher is using his Keen Scent ability, which is the equivalent of the Scent universal monster ability.
Tell them I will recognize their scent if I come across it again in the settlement, and will blame him personally for further trespass.
Asher asks that Crispin translate it to the goblins as he wipes his sword blade on a handy rag while staring at them.
Asher nods to Mauro and shrugs off his chain shirt, now a bit bloody, and puts on the new one. Curiously, he seems to be a bit put off. But then he opens his pack and removed a worn leather patch with an dark symbol on it from his prior chain shirt. He seems to be in slightly better spirits by the time he affixes it to the shoulder of his new chain shirt.,

Abeowin N'thera |

Bey gathers the spears and breaks off the tips, pocketing them for later.
I'd let them go. They don't appear to have any more information and I think they have paid for their assumptions heavily.
Unless someone objects, Bey unties the goblins and using aquan and sign tells them to leave and not come back.

Brodigan Fallemar |

"Maybe ask them if they've seen any longshanks anywhere else?" Brodigan suggests when it seems that the question about colonists didn't make sense to the Goblins.
