As Yellow is gone, you can revise your actions. You can keep all your rolls in the order you made them (successful Demoralize, move, unsuccessful Strike), or you can reroll everything, but no picking and choosing. :)

That will finish off the two centipedes. I'm on my phone so I can't make a big post, but the statue weighs 16 Bulk so it's likely some of you will have to rearrange inventories to have enough to carry it. Reminder that 5+STR Bulk makes you encumbered (clumsy 1 plus -10' speed) and 10+STR is a hard limit. There will be stuff Oiyeron and Elanna find in the study and there may be stuff in the Dean's office too but the statue is the decision that y'all need to discuss.

In the corner of the room rests a large stone statue depicting a chariot wheel wreathed in flame - a representation of Jingh, an iophanite angel and emissary of Iomedae.

As I mentioned before, the statue is 16 Bulk, but its weight can be split between up to 4 PCs. Each PC can hold up to 5+STR without being encumbered (clumsy 1 plus -10' speed), and 10+STR as a hard cap.

Grimm casts an eye around the room, scanning for any items of interest other than the massive statue. He then returns to the window, peering out at the undead monstrosity approaching the town, "That things not wavering in its path. We're in it's way, deliberately or not." He turns back to Oiyeron Ellana and Elien, "Come on then - let's try this idea of yours. I'll lend you my shoulder, but we need to do this fast."

Grimm has STR 16 +3 mod, and is carrying 8 bulk already. So he's on the cusp of being encumbered already. If he ditches 'Bertha' the meteor hammer into the cart (-2 bulk) and is to be encumbered to the max, he can carry 7 of the statue's 16 bulk. Grumbling at every step. Anyone else helping?

Even with his backpack and all his gear, Oiyeron only carries 3 Bulk, 6 Light. If he puts his backpack, Healer's Tools bandolier and staff down, even the Wizard can take a 4th of the statue's weight without being encumbered, or, still carry all his gear and not reach his max.

Be quick with that pulley, yes? We'll have this out in the hallway shortly. Nubie? Kei? If you're not lifting, help Elanna..."

OOC: Elien has 3 Bulk, 9 Light, so he can handle another 6 Bulk with the statue. Sounds like Oiyeron can do about that, as well...and then Grimm with up to 8. That should be enough to move it while everyone else gets ready to help us lower it to the cart.

Okay, so Grimm, Oiyeron, and Elien are carrying the statue. If y'all don't mind, I'm going to railroad a bit - whether or not you spend an extra 10 minutes to look through the dormitories, the endgame is the same at this point.

On the way out, the group fans out and looks through the dormitories, locating a drawer filled with dusty jewelry and a dirty vial of holy water in one of the small chests. Together, these constitute 1 Treasure Bundle.

At 1:10 pm, the group begins heading out. As the group reaches the bottom of the stairs, a voice calls out.

"Aha! Just in time to stop you insolent whelps. You will soon join my undead army," he sneers. See Slide 8 for art, tactical map will be on Slide 6.

Behind the necromancer (black outline) stands a skeletal champion (purple outline) and two zombies (red and blue outlines).

Coincidentally, the three people holding the statue are clustered in initiative, so this won't be as complicated as it could have been - basically, the first 2 must Ready an action (2 actions to Ready 1) to set down the statue, so the first two in initiative use two actions, and the third uses one action. Since the three of you are in a block, you can more or less choose who gets the extra action.

Moving through the statue's square is difficult terrain.

A remind that Larraz is with you; rather than have him on the board as an NPC, I'm going to just allow his benefits to appear out of thin air. He will cast disrupt undead or a 2-action heal (as prescribed) on his turn, and you won't need to worry about him getting hit or anything.

"For Lastwall!" cries Grimm, as once again the battlecry of the Knights of Ozem rings loud and clear in Goldenflame. He lunges across the statue with his polearm, cutting deep into the shambling zombie at the foot of the staircase.

Oiyeron squeezes past the statue. He sees Grimm drop the zombie and Elien about to spring into action.
"Elien, wait!"
Oiyeron makes it past the statue far enough to bring both hands in front of him in a cupping gesture. As he concentrates, earth-related sigils spin around his hands and a gem coalesces. Oiyeron touches the gem to Elien and speaks a command. The gem begins to hover, circling the Investigator in an erratic pattern.

"If it can get there fast enough, the gem will block weapon attacks, if it breaks, the shards will damage your attacker (assuming it's still nearby). Not the best damage versus bone, but it's something."

Oiyeron then brings up his left hand and closes his eyes, a light deep in the gem on his ring flashes, then fades, as he recalls the power he stored in it that morning. He uses it to bring his Magic Missile spell back to his mind.

@GM Just remembered I have the Recognize Spell feat and didn't need to use an action to Identify a Spell. Don't worry about doing anything retroactive, just roll me a secret check (+4 for Divine spells) when the Necromancer casts going forward.

Elien watches with satisfaction as his companions hack down the zombies, leaving only the skeleton impeding their way. He starts to move forward to aid Nubie, but Oiyeron's call brings him up short. As the wizard imparts his magical gem spell, the investigator nods and a new strategy comes to mind. "I'm going to make a run for the necromancer!" he explains. Then, Elien squeezes past Nubie and past the skeleton, trusting the magical gem to guard him against the undead long enough for him to reach its master.

OOC: Elien Strides around the corner and towards the necromancer (presumably provoking from the skeleton?), then Devises A Stratagem, and follows up with a Strike.

On the way, Elien stares down the evil spellcaster, noting his defenses as quickly as he can before slashing hard with the shortsword.

Oiyeron draws the familiar sigils and pulls his hands to the sides, extending the protective ward around himself. He comes around the corner and hesitates, seeing that right next to the skeleton is going to be the best spot to protect the most melee combatants (until he can work on expanding the spell's radius). Oiyeron moves to stand where the ward's field will cover Elien and Elanna then speaks a command, and a magical shield appears between him and the magically animated skeleton.

Well, this is what I was training to do. Oiyeron thinks to himself nervously. Providing protection to a squad as they fight undead.

Elien barely has time to register the grievous wound he'd drawn from the skeletal warrior before their fellow Pathfinder undid all the damage with his timely spell. "I'm so glad we rescued you, Larazz!" he shouts, pivoting on his heel to face their adversary. He sizes up his opponent, trying to recall the best means for fighting such undead, then looks for the best opening and swings hard.

Oiyeron causes a protective glow to emanate!

Elien can't remember anything in the heat of battle about skeletons as advanced as this. But he does remember that less advanced skeletons have resistances to cold, electricity, fire, piercing, and slashing, and so far, this advanced skeleton seems to have the same behavior. Giving you resistances for a skeleton guard, Level -1; not quite RAW, I know, but I hate discouraging people from making Recall Knowledge checks.

Indeed, although his slash hits, his blade only skates along the bones. The skeleton stops the blow with his shield before Elien can do any damage to its tendons.

The skeleton takes a swipe at Elien.
