Kenta slowly moves down the rope after his allies all make it safely.

Any rolls needed to climb?

He looks at the spear and the exits, "Ariel went this way? And it's also the way out? And everyone wants to head back to the lodge if we don't see the thing on the way? Alright, let's go."

He looks oddly at Hiiragi and Onna snuggling close, Makes sense, they were in that cold water. Sharing body heat until they can get dry is smart. He shivers, then shakes a bit to at least fluff his tail, I'll be fine though, it isn't that cold.

Books in tow, you make your way back through the deserted gillfolk tunnels. Previously dry areas are now beginning to fill with running water, up to about calf height.

Back on surface, the return trek to the Grand Lodge is uneventful, and you arrive back at the Sapphire Sage’s office before the mess has opened for breakfast.

You catch Seeker Agent Eadie Navhelan dozing in an armchair in Amenopheus’ antechamber. A large blade lies across her knees, and you suspect she has waited up all night.

Characteristically emotional with congratulations on your return, she carefully takes the Twin Tomes from Kenta and places them in a silver-lined blue cedar case.

“Kyra dropped this gift off from Ollysta Zadrian. But thank inflation you have returned, and with the Incantation sealed.”

“Quenly and I will safeguard it until the Sapphire Sage and Master of Towels return from their seaside vacations. There is much we can learn from the Infernal Incantation and the Celestial Song, but in a controlled environment to make sure … incidents such as this are not repeated.”

The wide-eyed warrior breaths a relieved sigh and looks at each of you. “So, you obviously succeeded. But we heard reports of devils loose on the streets. Is there anything else I should be concerned with?”

"I recommend that the society liaise with the city authorities and the local gillmen to seek out the corpse of the aquatic crime-lord known as the 'Sea Witch'. I struck him a mortal blow, but then he was carried off by fast-receding waters and we did not find his body. It's possible, though unlikely, that he survived and now plots revenge."

Kenta thinks back to what he has experienced this mission and slowly goes through it.

"Okay, so we went to a house and there was a fire and a crowd of jerks not helping anyone inside. So we rushed in and there was this angel, but it smelled evil so I smited it. There was a guy, he talked a lot and his lady friends were dead, that was sad. So we found a book but needed to find another book. But that other book was sent off to a nice lady cleaning up the marketplace from evil. We went to find her and some bad dudes attacked us, but they were weak and we knocked them out. I hit one too hard though and apparently Lady Taramyth stepped in and brought him back. He pledged his life to mine and I said no, but I can help you do better things and I definitely need to get some rest if I'm going to meet him tomorrow. Anyway we found the nice pretty lady and she said she didn't have the book and I believed her. So with nothing else to do we tracked down the evil boss of those guys we knocked out and he was a mermaid named Avril like in the play but he was really mean and had the other book for some reason. The book was singing really loud and then we got into a bunch of water and then we put the books together and they stopped singing and burning. I didn't see Ikari fight the squid-thing, but it sounds like he smote it well."

He seems very happy with his memory of things. A very succinct and thorough report!

For what it's worth, Hiiragi remains in kitsune form for a while.

Sense Motive 13 or Onna:
Her makeup was washed away with all the water, and she prefers not to show a bare human face to the world.

"The devils came from that first book-- the one we retrieved from Yagros Gill," she explains. "The second book subdues it. With both of them safely in the Society's custody, it should not be a problem."

Side note, I just realized that when Hiiragi is speaking Tien, it's probably with a strong country accent... I'd say "Kansai" if it were Minkai, but Pathfinder has weird rules about what languages a 7-Int kitsune can speak without dropping more points into Linguistics.

“Hm. Good work, agent!”

Eadie nods her head somberly. “That sounds like just the kind of intelligence I should pass onto my superiors. But in all likelihood I’ll forget, and my mistake will come back to bite us at the worst possible time.”

“Ah well.” *shrug* “Nothing we can do about it.”

Eadie’s eyes glaze over after the second sentence. “Yes, a very stinkt report, Agent Fox. I suggest you dictate it to Seeker Agent Quenly.”

“Oh, and just ignore him if he says stuff like:

• He’s too busy
• Can’t understand a word you’re saying
• Has a headache
• Will banish you to the Shadow Plane if you don’t #@(%ing SHUT IT!

“He’s just kidding around. He like says it to me all the time!”

Exactly what Eadie wanted to hear!

Eadie takes up paper and hippogriff quill to write in fancy calligraphy:

Should not be a problem.

“There! If you all could all sign this (with your REAL names please), we’ll call this mission done and watch out to see if there’s any mention of me and Quenly in the next Pathfinder Chronicle! Wish us luck!”

The warrior stands to hand out hugs, hand-shakes, heel *clicks* and quills, depending on how amenable and/or filthy Eadie gauges her would-be partner to be.
