Kosh starts his war cadence, and steps to the side, putting the monster directly between him and Pai Song.
”Let ‘im have it, Pai!”, he shouts. ”Hammer an’ anvil!”

Kalvin casts a spell and gets some space away from the blood ooze.
The blood ooze attacks the monk and bard as dance dances around.
First at Kosh
ooze will save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
attack, damage, bleed: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 351d12 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 111d6 ⇒ 2
Then at the monk
attack, damage, bleed: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 251d12 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 201d6 ⇒ 2
Back at the bard!
ooze will save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
attack, damage, bleed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d12 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 181d6 ⇒ 3
Kosh inspired Pai in her third round!
Post if you can! Pai, I hope all is well!

In round three I can't hit Kosh... sad for ooze.
Pai Song
|
Pai Song does not look good after that vicious hit!
Seeing how there will be no parlay in a situation like this, she tries to hit the creature with her bo staff.
◆ Flurry of blows
Bo Staff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 211d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Bo Staff: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 5 = 221d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
◆ Step

Mordack Crits the beast as well! With that the ooze drops to the ground. Blood splashes ankle deep into the room as the alchemist look on in horror as his creation falls. He drops to his knees in the gore, cries, and shouts, My baby! The mistress will be furious!
Over the sound of the cries of the crazy orc, your friend appears and stares in horror at the room full of blood and the exploded man. WHAT HAPPENED HERE! The elf ranger looks around the room at you all hoping for an explanation.

Oh, combat is done. Now its just the elf, the orc, and the horrorable lab. What would you like to tell the elf about this place?
| Kalvin Eliassen |
Kosh I don't think any of his attacks hit you since I had the sanctuary spell up and he failed most, if not all of his Will saves.
Kosh Bracken
|
Wow, I completely missed that. Thanks!
Kosh looks around the room.
”Roight, so dis guy”, he says, pointing at the alchemist, ”made a blood monster come outta dat guy”, he points at the corpse, ”an’ we just killed it”
He faces the elf. ”E’s a henchman, workin’ for da same one dat had our boss killed, I figure”. He fills her in on the details.
”You find anyfing?”, he asks.

The elf thinks for a moment and says, We need to find the mastermind. This one made a monster, but thats not even close to enough to cause all this problems. Vilree must be ultimately responsible, and please bring that monster to justice. For Bort’s sake, if not for the sake of the woods. My quest is at an end, but there is more for you. Ill stay and protect this area. Will you continue to the Spite’s Cradle and deal with the villains there?
I'm gonna assume you are going to or this would be a really short adventure! Gain your level, and you can head back to town. In town, you can guy what you like and we can hit the ground running in a day. Of to Spite's Cradle!
Mordack Dune 4
|
Mordack will gladly do that. Without magic missiles and burning hands, he has to rely on ray of frost to hit. Definitely heading out Spite's Cradle. Tomorrow that is, I think my teammates are exhausted and need a rest. Not even goblins want a suicide mission.
fine_young_misanthrope

Welcome to level three! Post when your ready and if you want to pick up anything in town. There won't be a +5 holy avenger lying around town, but most gear up to level 4 is here.
| Kalvin Eliassen |
Kalvin wakes up the next morning refreshed and heads down to the common room. He asks the owner for a cup of coffee and sits at a table, waiting for the rest of the group to wake.

You go to town, gear up, and then hit the trail again! The directions from the orc laboratory lead to the foothills far west of Etran’s Folly. Here, nestled in the shadow of the Five Kings Mountains, there are countless small valleys and crevasses, but the directions lead to one particular valley: a place called “Spite’s Cradle.” Up ahead, a wooden palisade spans the valley; a gigantic double door set into its center. Beyond this wall, a guard tower is barely visible, although it’s difficult to tell whether it is occupied.
What is your next steps?
Kosh Bracken
|
Kosh looks over the scene. ”Hrm”, he says. ”Our buddy said dere’s a whole buncha mooks here. Maybe some of us go up for a sneak ‘n’ peek, do some recon”
| Kalvin Eliassen |
"That's a good idea Kosh. Who's good at sneaking? I'm not the best at it and don't want to give us away!" Kalvin says as he scans the area, hoping to see a secluded spot that may give them a view over the palisade.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

The wooden palisade walls are 15 feet high, and the tops are carved to points. It’s easy to get a grappling hook onto these walls, but the guards will quickly spot that. The gate is barred from the inside using three heavy wooden beams. The cliffs that make up the sides of the valley are steep and 30 feet high, but not impossible to scale. Climbing the limestone face.
The guards in the tower do not have a particularly good view outside the wall, giving the player characters an easy approach, but their view of the ground between the wooden palisades is favorable. The guards generally look around once every few minutes,
That is what you want to see. How are you getting in? Vote and roll to see how you do!
Kosh Bracken
|
Kosh’s brow furrows as he scans the area. ”So we wait for da patrol to make dere rounds, an’ we climb da cliff around da wall. We ain’t da sneakiest bunch, so we rush da guard room”
He looks at the others. ”Sound good?”

You run the length up to the palisades and jump over. It takes a few minutes, but you get over. Beyond the palisade is a well-trodden yard. A small wooden hut is built against the southern rock wall, facing a squat stone fortress. A guard tower stands at the north end of the edifice while a two-story dome anchors the south. The fortress has a brooding look about it, with narrow windows set between heavy pillars of rock.
When you get over, you see two orcs who are VERY surprised to see you! ROLL INIT! and post your first actions!

Kalvin goes beast mode and drops the orc with two swings.
With that you are standing in an open field. The orcs don't have much beyond a javelin each and a knuckle dagger.
What would you like to do next?

In the center of this wooden hut is a massive stone throne. Crudely carved with howling orc faces, the chair is clearly intended to intimidate. Flanking it on the walls of the hut are two massive leather canvases featuring simplistic paintings. On the left is an image of a mountain peak with an orc head howling up at it from a great cavern at the mountain’s heart. On the right is the image of a tall, slender woman with black hair. Her ears suggest she is elven or half-elven. In one hand, she holds a large beaker overflowing with green liquid; in the other, she holds naked fire. At the back wall, you can make out a curtain partly concealing an opening into the cliff face.

Even with my math error, I don't see you. What do you want to do to this fat orc?
Kosh Bracken

Mordack is okay with this plan You might have to roll intimidate.
That was a Stride, Ready Action to shoot the orc if he tries anything
| Kalvin Eliassen |
Kalvin moves up next to Kosh when he hears Kosh shout, "Don't move!". As he moves up he grabs his holy symbol that is hanging around his neck and asks for a blessing from Sarenrae.

The orc looks at you all as you run up to him. One see you see is A bronze key hangs from a leather cord around Nar’s neck. the orc looks are your group of a people assembled to do harm to him. He calmly turns to you all and says, If you surrender now, I Nar will beg for Vilree for mercy. Maybe she will just imprison you instead of kill you. What say you?
