Zeyram

Zeyram shifts his position so that the new Heirarch and his two Praetorians will be in the blast, then softly says “Boom!”
The blue glow that has been surrounding his armor suddenly sparks out and fire fills the area 10’ around him.
Supernova: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) + 1 = 8 DC 13 Reflex for half. It is more damage than he did last round.

Trick attack – take 10 for 31

Dirge Pistol vs EAC: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30

Naylor does their best to blend into the background without sacrificing their ability to target this new threat.
Chivix
|
life science: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
"This is quite possbily the strangest thing Chivix has ever experienced. What is...is that...Gravy, kill it. Kill it with fire!"
Chivix's voice ratchets up an octave or two, sounding as if he is terrified. In fact, it is simply a shirren's normal response to stress, and the stress right now is killing Dhurus, or whatever that thing is. Of course, maybe the stress was getting to him, as his rifle fire was not very accurate.

Compucast

A small group of nano bots breaks off to harrass the last of the jinsul praetorian guards.
Grunting with effort, Compucast further manipulates the underlying threads of the universe.
Around the summoned herald, the water vapour turns to acid.
CC vs heirarch: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 = 24
acid damage: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 1) + 4 = 11

Although Chivix and Gravy missed, both Naylor and Compucast's attacks land true.
"So my Hierarch prayed to remove you from my temple. But you'll only be the beginning! I will kill you and then I will take the Defiler and mount him on the prow of our ships, so all my followers can revel in his..." The microbots whizz past the herald, who swats at them angrily. "Will SOMEONE get these bots out of my FACE?"
Dhurus multiattacks, going first for Maverick...
Multiattack 1 leg blade: 1d20 + 18 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 18 - 2 = 33

"Dhurus, we meet again. Don't let his entrance affect you team. He's just an overgrown crab with a bad attitude."
Maverick, no longer effected by the Hierarch's nauseating spell, bobs, weaves, and tucks into a roll as he scrambles away from Dhurus before leaping over a barrier giving him cover. Coming up from behind the other side of the barrier he then levels his Thunderstrike pistol at Dhurus and pulls the trigger.
Alien Archive [Life Science): 1d20 + 15 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 15 + 3 = 38

Dhurus is flat footed; he gets an AOO vs. EAC 31 or KAC 32 plus the covering fire bonus. I would like to know his resistances, vulnerabilities, and special attacks.
The harrying fire bonus on Dhurus is spent for this round.
| GM Hmm |
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Maverick manages to get a hit only because of the harrying fire bonus!
Maverick knows that Dhurus, while garbed in the shreds of his former Hierarch, has no vulnerabilities or resistances. He does have a number of special attacks. He can reposition people with his bite. He can spend resolve points to get extra actions. He can spew acidic ichor as a line weapon in order to get multiple people at a distance, and he can multi-attack.
Dhurus Bite AoO: 1d20 + 24 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 24 - 2 = 42 Ouch...

Crit: 4d6 + 19 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 3) + 19 = 38
The manifestation of Dhurus takes a huge bite out of Maverick, but his attack of opportunity for this round is now also gone.
EDIT: The GM rolls back a HUGE hit against Maverick. Naylor made Dhurus flat-footed, which means that Dhurus did not get that Attack of Opportunity against Maverick when Maverick moved.
The GM breathes sigh of relief.

Seeing Dhurus flat-footed, Chivix decided to risk it all by double-tapping the prophet. It would drain the last of his battery, and might do irreparable damage to his rifle, but it was worth the risk. Gravy, now is not the time for incompetence. now is the time to shine like the glory of old Saint Nicholas, like we heard about from the spacers.
Taking a deep breath, he held the overcharge stud on his rifle and pulled the trigger twice as Gravy gave him the targeting information. Apparently the AI felt that right behind the first set of legs was the sweet spot. Immediately, Chivix dropped his laser rifle as the twin pulses of overchaged laser bursts superheated the barrel of the weapon.
That last bit is just flavor for needing to swap out the depleted batteries next round

Dhurus is no longer off-target. Naylor didn't attack Dhurus and Zeyram failed to trick it. Is that correct? If that is right it is just flat footed now because of Maverick's trick.

You're right. The Nanobots are likely gone. I took flat-footed out of Dhurus's description from the last post, but will put it in for this one!
Maverick shoots Dhurus solidly, while dissing his appearance!
Orange says, "Ugly? UGLY? You're so ugly, you're flankable!"
Apparently this is so witty to the Jinsul mind that Pink laughs, "Ha! Acid burn!"
Dhurus waves his appendages and yells, "Stop laughing and kill him!"

I shall easily defeat you when we meet again: In the Scoured Stars, where Kadrical sleeps.” After this, Hierarch Kraaton's body slumps to the floor and dissolves into a pool of acidic sludge.
