Pierre comes in Kahwen's back and touches the tengu which begins to glow a little.

"Glory shall shine on your feathers... in the name of the Inheritor!"

Kahwen now has an extended heroism spell on him, for a total of 140 minutes.


Zarrah fights through the acid tentacles of the ooze, slicing and dicing and leaving copies of her sigil along the things mass. She proves too powerful for the thing and it collpases.

Viret bolsters Kawhen with divine blessings.

Uldar manages to break free of the cage! He and Kahwen manage to hack away at the already damaged bone creature. It collapses in a heap.

Hearing the call to action, the agents press further into the spire!

The silence of this room is pervasive, pressing in on the ears of anyone entering. Broad stairways to the east and west lead to landings with statues of terrifying gods of death.

As the brave agents stare into the darkness, the light from Zarrah's stone and Viret's light spell show into the hall. Suddenly, the party feels a terrible presence weigh on them like a heavy blanket. Uldar's eyes go wide as he stares into the darkness...

Uldar:
You see a form streak from the darkness coming straight toward you. Your fellow agents do not seem to react or see this form. As it gets closer, you recognize it. From one of your worst nightmares!Make a WILL save.

Kahwen:
As you enter the hall you hear something, whispers in the back of your mind. You are able to make out what the whispers say.

After the last combat Zaarah cast another shocking grasp and holds the charge. She uses her 3rd pearl of power to get her spell back.

Uldar's eyes nearly bulge out of her head...he grips his weapon tightly...

Uldar:
The creature from your nightmare attacks you. Fear grips you tightly as you do everything to repel the attack! Uldar feels the thing drain his very strength. Uldar takes 1 point STR damage and must make a full attack targeting the creature. Make another WILL save at the end of the your turn.

Zarrah, Viret and Kahwen:
Uldar howls and begins to swing his blade violently in the air, as if attacking something that is not there.

Zarrah draws forth phantom images of herself and empowers her blade.

Zaarah:
As she watches Uldar, she believes his action may be explained by a spell she remembers from her studies. Also, how do you cast Mirror Image as swift action?

Kawhen hands Pierre a wand who uses its power to heal the tengu.

From the shadows, tow forms emerge, floating as they glide toward the party, each cloaked in grey billowing hooded robes. They reach for Zarrah..she bats one of the icy claws aside while the other misses. She lands a clever riposte cutting through the ghostly robe.

Meanwhile, Uldar's mount bucks and wheels at the presence of the figures. Uldar needs to make a ride check.

As the wraiths converge, the darkness of the hall seems to come alive! A rolling cloud of black shadows and screaming ghostly mouths emerges from the black. It glides toward the party with unreal speed. It reaches a tentacle to Uldar. Uldar has enough wherewithal to dodge the thing, but just narrowly.

Watching the rolling having raced to catch up to the group, I cannot help but sense true foreboding. Not quite sure of the predicament I cast Protection from Evil on myself with my blade at the ready and taking comfort in the protection offered by my sapphire guardian.

Hi GM, she cast mirror image as a standard action and as a swift action empowered her scimitar by spending 1 arcane pool point.
I am also sorry that i forgot that we are still injured. Would there be a chance to assume that we healed our wounds after the last encounter? It all happened so fast. If yes: CLW 4 charges: 4d8 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 3) + 4 = 18

Pierre doesn't really understand what is going on but he casts a protective spell on Uldar.

"Iomedae protect us all!" he shouts, as a symbol of a longsword appears on the man's back, shining on everyone.

Kahwen can't do anything from where he is so he tries to move to someplace where he can do something.

"Excuse me, Friend Zaarah," he says as he moves past her.

He keeps going, jumping and twisting to get over the shadowy figure in front of him and get behind it.

Uldar swings away as he fights his personal nightmare! Amazingly, he manages to calm his steed while he fights but the creature still attempts to pull away from the apparitions! One more point STR damage and must use full attack next round as well as ride check and make another will save.

Zarrah unleashes a burst of spell and blade, quickening the party and slicing at the wraith before her. Her blade and spell pour through the evil thing but yet it stands.

Kahwen springs in1to action! He attempts to flip past the wraith but it manages to extend a ghostly bone claw at the tengu. It just misses the nimble bird. Kahwen then easily slips behind it and goes to work, giving it a good stab. He finishes off the wraith.

Pierre bolsters the party with divine protections and studies the situation. Pierre can look at the spoiler for Zaarah's spellcraft check from the previous post.

Suddenly, a human in robes runs into the hall. A fellow agent separated from the main force no doubt. He reaches into his arcane powers and brings forth magical protections for the party.

The remaining wraith attacks Zaarah. It's claw reaches through her armor and she is wracked with a bone chilling cold! [ooc]The wraith attempts to drain your life force! Make a CON save.

The cloud of darkness raises above the ground and hovers near the ceiling of the room some 10 feet in the air. It extends another tendril, this time at Kahwen. It reaches out! The tendril slams into Kahwen. His mind screams as the creature drains his very life force! 24 damage plus 3 points WIS drain.

Having caught up, I can feel the magical energies that further bolster me. My eyes narrow on the potential threats and I unleash a barrage of Magic-Missiles on what looks like a wraith like creature a mere 15 feet to my immediate front.

MM spell damage on what I think at least is a wraith: 4d4 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 1) + 4 + 3 = 16

I then ready my defenses with my very keen blade raised in an interlocking grip, prepared to strike as i seem to talk to the sapphire colored breastplate that covers me and might seem to actually move a bit.

I don't know if it'll help but Kahwen forgot that heroism also boosts his skill checks. That's 23 and 38 for his acrobatics rolls. Maybe it doesn't provoke (a 1 on a skill check not being a fumble)?

GM, one question: Did you reflect the parry for the attack on Zaarah? Did you reflect that she has 5 mirror images and there is only a 1/6 chance to hit her?

In case parry and mirror image already reflected - Fort save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

If the above is not a successful save I use my 'lessons of Chaldira' trait to reroll a failed saving throw:

GM, one question: I believe that you are right the monster being incorporeal means that parry is not straightforward.
Please see the following text from 'incorporeal':
"Corporeal spells and effects that do not cause damage only have a 50% chance of affecting an incorporeal creature. "

I think that my sword being a +3 weapon means that a parry is a corporeal magical effect that causes no damage and based on the description of 'incorporeal' there should be a 50% chance that a successful parry is really successful.

To not disturb continuity I hope you allow that Zaarah then did not parry/riposte last round as I believed the above mechanics to hold so that she still has a swift action this round. See below if you believe parry/riposte can works 50% of the time and if not then Zaarah does not parry / riposte anymore.

Opportune Parry & Riposte: In case Zaarah is attacked she uses 'Opportune Parry' and parries by expending an AoO to parry and spends a panache point (so if the attack roll of tshe opponent is lower than Zaarah's parry then the opponent does not hit and Zaarah could potentially Riposte)

Not wanting to rant but that's kind of Pierre's job ;) I was waiting for cover to heal Kahwen, thinking you'll attack the creature. I'll heal him some more anyway.

Pierre sees the flashing lights of Zaarah courageously fighting the shadow while Uldar stops Kahwen's wounds from bleeding. Raising a surprised eyebrow, the cleric dives in to heal the tengu as well.

Hello GM, in my post I used my Blue Scarf to increase the melee reach by 5 feet for 1 minutes so I can attack the undead.


@Zarrah sorry missed that. @Arklore go ahead and post and I will resolve in order.


Zarrah retrieves an azure scarf from her and quickly ties it to her ominous black scimitar, while she attunes the blade as it begins to eminate with force, a she focuses on casting a prepares shocking grasp spell. She manages to wield the blade, giving it enough leeway to reach the smokey beastie. As the blade reaches the monster, the held charge of the spell ignites, sending waves of lighting through the undead horror. She strikes the thing again and again, the force attuned blade ripping though the creature. Adding the strength of the attacking force, the thing dissipates in an explosive flurry.

Meanwhile, Uldar and Pierre aid their fallen comrade and are able to revive him.

He listens to Pierre and nods, although he's not always good staying with the group.

"Up there, Companions?" he asks, pointing up the stairs that the cloudy creature came down.


As Arklore castst his protections, a slew of fellow agents come rushing into the room. These particular agents look rough around the edges and tough as nails. The are followed by a smaller group. One of the tougher looking individuals approaches the group.

"Hail and well met. We were able to give these fiends a little hell back, eh? Not only that..." he dumps a very large bag onto the floor. "We just came from the caravan. Take what you need and lets get going!"

Each of you gains an item worth 750gp or less, as a Pathfinder from the supply caravan rushing and and places this item among the your equipment. If the your are uncertain about what you want, potions of 3rd-level spells like cure serious wounds or fly and wands of 1st-level spells like cure light wounds or remove fear appear readily available.

Another group of Pathfinders rushes in, blades and bows at the ready. They appear ready to help the party engage the evil of this place. You may choose to have this group damage your next opponent for 40 points.

Kahwen bows and thanks the group who brought the supplies. He also nods a thanks to the second group to arrive. "Your aid is greatly appreciated," he says to both.

Kahwen looks in the bag and pulls out a potion with wings on it. Then, he takes hold of a scroll like the one Zaarah claimed. But finally, he looks at the wand he's been having Pierre use on him. He knows it has less than 10 charges left and he suspects that's not going to get him through this adventure, let alone the next. With a last look of longing at the good stuff, he takes a new wand of cure light wounds and hands it to Pierre.

"For when the other one runs out."
