Hi there!

And talking about discussions...

Thrall wrote:
There is some interesting loot there, you guys should have a look. If no one claims the Cloak of Protecting, Thrall will gladly give it a home. He'd also like to check if there's a proper armour there in exchange for some of the masterwork weapons and other expensive things we will not use.

So, basically, Thrall is gonna have a talk to the Quartermaster and see whether he can get a new armor and/or reagents for the spell Masterwork Transformation.

Speaking of which, how much looted gear do we have that we can trade in? And thus how much can we each trade in for?

Loot here. I suggest we each take what we think we'll use and try to bargain for the rest. Today is Tuesday, let's say for... Thursday or Friday, everything that's not crossed out or assigned with a name beside will be added to the Bargain list and its price calculated for trade.

Is that okay for you, guys and GM?

Sorry, me again. GM, should we assume that we get to trade all what we have as loot for equipment we need? Are there done restrictions about what we could purchase? Do we trade on a 1:1 basis for the value of our wealth? The fact that you made a post moving on really cheers me up, and I'd like this to be sorted out as soon as possible so we can leave behind the matter and focus on our next steps.

Without bartering, you can sell your unwanted loot for half the cost of purchasing the item.

10,000 means they're only able to buy stuff for up to 10,000gp, right? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the settlement rules or whatever xD

Then the quartermaster has what you list and no more, I guess.

Ok, given the facts, and since I haven't had the opportunity to use it, is it okay for you, GM, of I change the dear Craft Wondrous Items for another craft feat, since Serena already has it? That way we can cover more crafting between us two. I'd probably choose Craft Magic Weapons or however is it called, and would have spent some of the time trying to craft something.

Male Human Cavalier (Standard Bearer) 4/Paladin (Holy Tactician) 2/Champion 1| AC 21, touch 12, flat-footed 18 | HP 57/57 | Fort +11, Ref +5, Will +10 | Init +2 | Perception +1 | Weal's Champion 1/1 | Challenge 2/2 | Lay on Hands 3/3 | Mythic Power 5/5

Craft Magic Arms and Armor is the feat.

As for settlement rules, there's two relevant values for things to buy.

-Base Value: This is the value for available magic items in GP. There is a 75% chance that any magic item up to this value is available in the city. If the check fails, it may be attempted again in one week to see if the item has become available.

-Purchase Limit: This is the maximum any shop within the city can spend to purchase an item the PCs are selling. If an item's value is above the purchase limit, then the PCs either have to settle for a lower price find a bigger city, or, if the GM allows, find a specific buyer with deep pockets to buy it.

The stat block also lists the specific items above the settlement's base value that are available for purchase, which is the list ToxicStar posted above.

I believe Kenabres' base value to, currently, be about 2000 gp, based on the purchase limit of 10,000 gp. So, any magic item with a value less than that has a 75% chance to be available. This says nothing about mundane items.

EDIT: I flagged a couple of things on the list we might want to keep. Serena, for instance, may want the masterwork backpack to boost carrying capacity, and a couple of the scrolls may come in handy down the line.

EDIT 2: I also noticed we didn't include any loot from the Grey Garrison in there. Not too concerned about it, since Wrath is pretty loot-forward, but something to point out.

Thrall if you want to switch that feat out that's fine. Now is the time to tweak characters before we get into the meat of things.

Hope you're feeling better Balthatsar, thanks for the explanation. I sometimes forget that people aren't necessarily familiar with the umpteen extra systems in PF.

The base value however is 4,400. This and the limit are being affected by a multitude of negative modifiers due to the state of this usually much larger/wealthier city.

Male Human Cavalier (Standard Bearer) 4/Paladin (Holy Tactician) 2/Champion 1| AC 21, touch 12, flat-footed 18 | HP 57/57 | Fort +11, Ref +5, Will +10 | Init +2 | Perception +1 | Weal's Champion 1/1 | Challenge 2/2 | Lay on Hands 3/3 | Mythic Power 5/5

Oh, well, that's certainly higher than I thought it would be. I figured Kenabres was downgraded to a "Small Town" in all aspects due to the widespread devastation. I should have realized Paizo would give it a special stat block for that.

HP 41/84 | SW 6/8 | SA 8/8 | Fervor 6/7 | Channel 0/2 | MP 4/7

Okay, so I have a 75% chance to find any item worth less than 4,400. We have 13k something, but the town won't be able to buy for more than 10k, which means 2k for each of us.

So... is there a Masterwork Full Plate for Thrall? Let's see...

1d100 ⇒ 87 I guess not, right?

Actually, they will. The Purchase limit is for any single item, not everything. I could have been more clear on that, sorry.

Base Value only applies to magic items, I believe, not mundane items - otherwise there would be a 25% chance of no one in town selling a backpack, or trail rations.

I would count masterwork as in that limit. But d20 systems, low is bad. so 1-24 is no any higher is yes so you should be good thrall

Re: Loot list.

Okay keeping the Mwk Backpack, did the changes already.

Scroll of Identify, okay, did the changes. Not that Identify is super useful in PF1, it only gives you a bonus, but well, it's only 25gp, so fine.

Does Serena want to spend yesterday's time fixing the Philactry? If so, that's a net gain of 250gp (which she can keep for herself since she did the whole job, imho)

Also, if Serena wants the Spellbook, that should be 700gp less. I guess it's easier to sell it and get the specific scrolls you want, but hey, not me playing the sorcerer.

Total loot selling the wares (including spellbook) and adding coins divided by 5 should be 1,745gp. Thrall already bought his armor from that for 1,650, leaving 95gp for the future.

If anyone wants an armor or weapon enchantment, just call me maybe :P

Masterwork agile breastplate: 1d100 ⇒ 53

Yes! That's 550 gp.

Masterwork heavy steel shield: 1d100 ⇒ 1

Darn.

Hey Thrall, I'll give you 500 gp to give my new breastplate a +1 enhancement bonus.

Gonna sell my masterwork chain shirt and parade armor, too. Leaves me 832 gp and 5 sp.

GM, could you tell me how powerful Radiance is supposed to be right now?

In the hands of a paladin, it is a +1 cold iron, whatever your favorite weapon is. Chances to unlock upgrades in this book and the next.

I can make this in one day, we could assume yesterday. The DC is 5+caster level (3 for a +1 enhancement) for a total DC of 8. Since I'm rolling Craft Armorsmith at +10, I guess that's an autosuccess.

Enjoy the new armor, Balthasar!

Arianna:
Hey how exactly heinous was the crime you were accused of committing and was it true or were you wrongfully prosecuted.

I'm debating the likelihood of a LG queen, knighting a goblin... Thoughts anyone?

Bitey? Your "owner" Is no longer with us, so how do you see yourself advancing, as far as thinking of yourself as a Nail Dog and not so much a goblin?

Balthasar, which of your family members are still alive? Not your father, but your brother Silas and uncle Henrik right?

Silver Crusade

Female Half-Elf Rogue Unchained 6/ Trickster 1 | HP 34/34 | AC 17 Touch 15 Flatfooted 12 | CMB: +5 CMD: 20|

She was likely caught in some burglaries or pickpocketing when she was younger. But given her family history she drew more attention than was perhaps warrNted. And while i don't have a specific incident in mind for her father to have committed but it should be something heinous and unforgivable to the crusaders.

Edit:
The idea is that while she didn't commit anything heinous herself, the relation to her parent made things worse for her. Though after the incident where she was abandoned by her friends anx rescued by the strange woman, she bolted out of town and likely escaped prosecution for a time.

M Goblin Barbarian(Feral Gnasher/ Unchained) 6 Guardian 1

Bitey has lost many friends along the way, this has changed him from who he was before the ground fell away. He is still a hyper ball of energy and goodwill, but there is now a wistful sadness whenever he turns to tell smells of fox something she would find funny. His heart sinks a bit whenever he remembers that smells like trees is no longer beside him as they march out to war. The suit no longer fits as well, it itches and pinches now, and the barking no longer keeps back the loneliness as there is no pack left to run with. Ale and fried foods can no longer sate the ache he feels, and he now searches for something he does not know and can not speak.

Bitey is no goblin, not a thing of petty hunger and chaotic pain, but neither does he belong among any other kind. A thing caught between worlds and powered by a fierce anger because of it. Now he must find his place among these people, find out if he can continue being the Nail Dog, the mascot, the clown... or find that he has become more when he was not looking for it.

That answer your question boss?

Yes, and the ability to befriend the remaining people and also be a massacre'r of demons and a rage ball will develop him further I think.

Ok Ariana thank you. I was just wondering how to deal with this next bit for your character.

Well, if I can say something about Bitey is that being a Goblin doesn't really violate any kind of alignment ethos by itself. I mean, being LG, the Queen would pursue abiding the law and being a good person, both of which I think are requirements fulfilled by Bitey... if maybe in an unorthodox way xD

Also, if I can say something about Balthasar is that the armour I enchanted for you costed 475 due to the 5% reduction from the trait, so hey, you saved 25gp. Seems Santa did think about you this year! :P

Both were alive before the events of Armasse, however, his Uncle Henrik lived in Kenabres, and he hasn't been seen since the city fell. His brother, Silas, was with his regiment, and so out of the city, but he hasn't heard from him since the attack.

Balthasar's mother and a couple of aunts and uncles also lived in Kenabres, and they may be dead, as well.

Basically, as much of Balthasar's family is still alive as you need to be alive.

Ah... let's see...

Righteous Medal of Agility: It is awarded to a hero who delivers a death blow to a demon in combat before that demon gets a chance to act in the combat.

Mmmm... not that I can think of... anyone remembers?

Righteous Medal of Clarity: It is awarded to a hero who recovers vital information of great use against the Worldwound and delivers this intelligence to the crusaders.

I think we did this, didn't we?

Righteous Medal of Command: It is awarded to a hero who redeems one of the enemy and convinces the redeemed character to join the crusade.

Not yet, I guess.

Righteous Medal of Spirit: It is awarded to a hero who becomes possessed or mentally controlled by a demon but escapes from that control before he is forced to do evil.

I don't think so, nope.

Righteous Medal of Valour: It is awarded to a hero who delivers a death blow to a demon whose CR is at least 1 higher than the hero’s character level.

I don't know, we should have to backtrack and see who delivered deathblows (and we don't even know the CRs). Let's see...
-The Babaus were CR6, and we were 6th level with boost, so nah
-The Dretches we battled in the White Stone chamber were CR2 if I'm not mistaken.
-Here we killed a M inotaur, but it's not clear who did it (the text seems to imply the credit goes to Azarra). Also, it's not really a demon, and we don't know it's CR.
-Here we killed the Stag Demon. Again, we don't know it's CR and it's not clear who dealt the final blow.
-Here Balthasar kills the Halberd Demon (though we once again don't know its CR).
-There were three Deer demons before that and Thrall killed two of them (I don't know whi killed the third), but again, no idea which CR (I think we were 4th level at the time).
-That was way back to page 23, before that I don't recall fights with demons big enough to be 1 CR higher than us, but if anyone does please tell.

Righteous Medal of Vigor: It is awarded to a hero who is reduced to negative hit points by a demon but survives (or alternately, is restored to life) and rejoins the battle before that demon is defeated.

Thrall almost fell to the minotaur's axe, but he was conscious all the time (plus it was not a demon). In our first combat vs Halberd&Stag, they take Thrall to 0 hp and he later falls unconscious because of his action (heroically killing the tiefling who was about to throw a bomb), so I get that doesn't count as well.

It would be rude to sell the Morningstar - the Mongrelman leader gave it to us as a sign of friendship.

As for demons, I think the halberd demon was a Schir Demon. Not sure what the stag demon was.

We were only level 5 when we fought the babau demons, I thought - we leveled up to 6 afterwards.

EDIT: We did recover intelligence about the location of demonic safe houses in the city, yes.

How I'm considering doing it is having you guys do an encounter kind of "inside" the battle and giving bonuses to the actual battle based on the outcome. The other option is that we have the commander in this case Balthasar make round by round rolls, and ordering tactics in sort of a simulation of combat.

The upside to simulation is that it will go quicker which will allow us to reach our destination sooner IRL. But if you guys are thirsty for some combat we can do a battle encounter.

Let me know what people think.
