GM Wayfinder
You are not sure-- but the color of the bear and hair seems jet black, which you have not recently seen on a Dwarf you know.
Natsume Ren
Good enough for me!
Natsume tries not to dwell too thoroughly on the dwarf.
”D’you think we should ruin these?” she asks, gesturing toward the cauldrons. ”I don’t know much about alchemy, but it always seemed fiddly. We could toss some junk in here and it’d probably not do what it’s supposed to...”
”Or we could just tip it over, probably.”
Giggett
Giggett smiles largely.
"Burn, burn, burn the witch!"
She winks at Natsume.
"Seriously, I'm still thinking that if we destroy enough of all of that Vilree won't be able to succeed at her goals and this whatever happens afterwards. Better safe than sorry. And I don't think I'll get any use of all of that anyway so I won't drop a tears if it burns."
Natsume Ren
Natsume shrugs, and starts looking around to see what seems most likely to render the potion(?) useless if she tosses it in the pot.
She eyes the dwarf carcass briefly.
Huh.
GM Wayfinder
Tamerius sees only a badly maimed and destroyed Dwarf, in green vapor.
Giggett is getting Natsume very excited about her plans-- NOT!
Natsume looks around--
--on the central table, next to the bubbling concoction, you see an open book.
The rest of the large table is otherwise empty.
You see that the alchemical tools here are all tainted with... an oily green residue.
Sitril Anvilbrand
Sitril enters the room and looks at the dwarf's body. He seems to be moved by that sight then he moves towards the tables
"We should truly burn this place!"
What is with this scenario and killing dwarfs!
GM Wayfinder
Try to move your minis as to where you go.
As Sitril moves towards the tables, talking of burning the place-- you see the smoking fire beneath the bubbling cauldron... move!
Like a match for your fire, it seems to hiss: "Burn, burn, burn the Dwarf!"
It as though the fire heating the cauldron rolled out, and you realize it has the shape of some oversized rodent, made of smoldering charcoal and elemental fire. Noxious fumes continually bellow from its flaming flesh!
Though small-sized, it bites Sitril's toe quite sharply!
OUCH!
6 damage
And Sitril's whole foot starts to burn--
1d4 persistent fire damage
--while smoke and stinking fumes roll out all around the fiery rodent.
Everything within the aura is concealed by smoke.
The fumes make Sitril want to vomit like those drudges above!
DC 22 Fortitude save or become sickened 1
You all react, as you see the rat of fire will attack the Dwarf again, who seems a bit slow...
Round 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 5 damage
Natsume Ren - - 14 damage
Rodent of Fire and Smoke
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage + 1d4 persistent fire + DC 22 Fortitude save or become sickened 1
Giggett: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Tamerius Archilus: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Sitril Anvilbrand: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Natsume Ren: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
CR: 1d20 ⇒ 3
1d20 ⇒ 141d8 ⇒ 2
1d20 ⇒ 131d8 ⇒ 8
GM Wayfinder
Tamerius knows exactly what this is, after all, his second uncle, Everbard, was known to always have cold feet, and had one of these to keep his toes warm!
Yes, it is a Cinder Rat, a small fire elemental.
They are simple elementals, that are immune to bleed, fire, paralyzed, poison, sleep-- but weak to cold... it was fun when young Tamerius and his cousins threw ice cubes at it.
Natsume Ren
"No reason not to smack it?" Natsume asks, her flailhead dropping as she pulls the handle out of its sheath and Tamerius scratches his chin.
She moves up to the rat and takes a big swing--
Flail Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Mayyyyybe?
Bludgeoning: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
--and regardless, lazily spins it afterward.
Move econ: Draw, Stride, Strike. If I need it:
Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
As always, I'll Glimpse of Redemption. The one angled more towards physical attackers, if-you-please~
Tamerius Archilus
Knowing that fire will not hurt the creature and not having cold spell against it, Tamerius calls for Hell's Thunder to destroy the elemental.
May Hell's Thunder destroy you!
Electric Arc (Basic Reflex DC19): 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7
GM Wayfinder
Natsume takes a big swing--
The enemy is concealed
DC5 Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 1
--and swooshes through the smoke without hitting the critter... where did it go?
The fumes get to Natsume, though--
Failed Fort' check
--and she feels quite ill.
Sickened 1
Tamerius calls upon Hell's Thunder-- and the electric spark sets off the gassy aura, that explodes, which blows up the cauldrons, the explosion makes the ceiling collapse, and you all die in fire and falling rock.
End of adventure
DC5 Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 12
--and the cleric manages to target the rat despite the cloud of smoke.
DC19 Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 2
The smoke hides the arc from the rat, that does not avoid it.
7 damage
Hell's Thunder did not destroy it, but it did burn some fire.
Round 1
Giggett - 5 damage
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 7 damage
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage + 1d4 persistent fire + DC 22 Fortitude save or become sickened 1
Round 2
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett
Giggett moves around the table to go behind the rat. She tries to catch her breath while in the fumes...
Fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
But she's not famous for her constitution (Crit fail, any effects past Sickened 1?).
She still tries to stab the creature by shooting at it.
Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (3) = 4 piercing damage + precision piercing damage.
And she strikes true for ridiculous damage. She tries once again...
Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (6) = 7 piercing damage + precision piercing damage.
Her arrow goes in the direction of the rat and...
GM Wayfinder
Giggett feels ill--
(no Crit' fail effect)
--and manages to hit the rat twice!
4+7 damage
The rat turns towards Giggett and-- does nothing as it tries to bite the Gnome in vain, missing over and over and over...
Sitril--
Round 1
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage + 1d4 persistent fire + DC 22 Fortitude save or become sickened 1
Round 2
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 5 damage - sickened 1
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 18 damage
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
1d20 ⇒ 7
Giggett
Because I like when things are the way they should be, you hit me as I have 19 AC because of the Sickened condition.
GM Wayfinder
The rat nods at Giggett, thanking her!
Thanks, you are correct! (you are sickened when you enter the aura)
The rat bites Giggett's toe and sets her foot on fire!
Fire: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 + 1d4 persistent fire
Round 1
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage + 1d4 persistent fire + DC 22 Fortitude save or become sickened 1
Round 2
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 15 damage - sickened 1 + 1d4 persistent fire
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 18 damage
GM Wayfinder
The rodent is quite fearful of foxes, and thus cringes-- accepting the burden of repentance, though it is a simple neutral creature doing its duty, and does not know why it should repent. It will take it up at its next prayer meeting.
Giggett's wounds are reduced--
5 damage instead of 10 (correct? 2+level?)
--and the rat is now enfeebled... though it did not seem too strong to begin with.
Round 1
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage + 1d4 persistent fire + DC 22 Fortitude save or become sickened 1
Round 2
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 10 damage - sickened 1 + 1d4 persistent fire
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 18 damage - Enfeebled 2 till end of turn
Sitril Anvilbrand
Fortitude, DC22: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Burning, flat check, DC15: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Sitril begins raging, he chokes on the smoke but his sight becomes focused on the rat. He swings rapier few times before stabbing two times.
Attack, silver rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9
Concel, DC5: 1d20 ⇒ 4

wounds are reduced--
5 damage instead of 10 (correct? 2+level?)

I think that’s correct!
GM Wayfinder
Sitril feels ill because of the fumes--
Sickened 1
--and that pisses him off so much he starts fuming himself!
He misses in the smoke, but then manages to hit the rat.
6 damage
The fire on his legs hurts him--
Fire: 1d4 ⇒ 4
--before burning out!
No more persistent damage
You then hear noise coming from two of the vats-- something is climbing out.
marked with an X
Round 2
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 10 damage - sickened 1 + 1d4 persistent fire
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 24 damage - Enfeebled 2 till end of turn
Sitril Anvilbrand - 22 damage - sickened 1
Round 3
Tamerius Archilus
Does the creature is immune to crit fail or has it more that +16 to her reflex save?
Tamerius tries to demoralize the creature.
Intimidation: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 4 = 17 I've added a -4 penalty because I don't speak Ignan and I don't think the creature speak common nor Infernal.
Then, as it seems that elecrticity hurt it, he calls again Hell's Thunder against it.
Flat check: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Damages, E (DC19 Basic Reflex): 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 = 9
GM Wayfinder
The rat does not understand a word you say, but it seems to fear Asmodeus' fire more than the Elemental fire-- it shakes and quivers in its cloud of smoke.
Frightened 1
It shakes so much it avoids part of the electric attack...
4 damage
Round 2
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Giggett - 10 damage - sickened 1 + 1d4 persistent fire
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 28 damage - Enfeebled 2 till end of turn - Frightened 1
Sitril Anvilbrand - 22 damage - sickened 1
Round 3
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Natsume Ren
Natsume retches--
Fort Save vs. DC22 to lessen sicken?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
--and then, failing to feel better, swings her flail a few times!
Flail Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
DC 5 vs. Concealed: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Bludgeoning Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Flail Attack 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
DC 5 vs. Concealed: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Bludgeoning Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
You can still flank a concealed creature, right? Mighta hit both times!
GM Wayfinder
Natsume dry heaves and feels no better--
--but does feel better when:
CLONK - CLONK... her flail bops the rat twice on the head, partly because it is distracted by Giggett.
12 damage
Round 2
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 10 damage - sickened 1 + 1d4 persistent fire
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 36 damage - Enfeebled 2 till end of turn
Sitril Anvilbrand - 22 damage - sickened 1
Round 3
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
GM Wayfinder
Oops, forgot to move you down (guess I got demoralized too!)
"No one moves Tamerius down!"
Round 2
Giggett - 10 damage - sickened 1 + 1d4 persistent fire

Round 3
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett
Giggett realizes that there are more coming. So she quickly urges to finish the rodent:
Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (4) = 5 piercing damage + precision piercing damage.
What are the vats made of?
GM Wayfinder
Giggett's feet burn--
1d4 ⇒ 3
--but her personal hygiene means the fire goes out.
No more persistent
She pops an arrow into the rat that hits thanks to the rat being distracted, despite the Gnome being sick--
5 damage
There are three pits on the south side of the room.
Their contents hidden from view-- all you see is holes dug into the rock.
Round 2
Giggett - 13 damage - sickened 1 - 2 actions
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 41 damage - Enfeebled 2 till end of turn
Sitril Anvilbrand - 22 damage - sickened 1
Round 3
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett
The flat check was to hit the rat, I forgot the fire. Here's the fire one:
Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Giggett then calls lightning on the rat and on one vat (if they're made of metal).
Electric Arc: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 = 9 lightning damage, basic reflex save DC 19.
GM Wayfinder
17 flat checks, anyone want some more?
Giggett does not see anything other than a hole in the rocky floor--
DC 19 Basic: 1d20 ⇒ 18
--but she looked over there too much, and did not concentrate enough on the rat, that is able to totally avoid the arc!
no damage
The fiery rat, enfeebled and frightened by all these Deities, is unable to connect his teeth with Giggett's toes.
all misses
Out of the holes in the ground, come two alchemical drudges, like the ones you just fought in the other bigger laboratory.
They drop brooms and buckets as they skilfully climb out, and move over towards-- Giggett!
Both strike out, one with red fire, the other with blueish cold-- but both miss.
Round 2
Sitril Anvilbrand - 22 damage - sickened 1
Round 3
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 13 damage - sickened 1 - 2 actions
Rodent of Fire and Smoke - 41 damage - Enfeebled 2 till end of turn
Blue cold -
Red fire -

Smoke: 1d20 ⇒ 71d20 ⇒ 15
1d20 ⇒ 81d20 ⇒ 4
Sitril Anvilbrand
Sitril roars and stabs the rat with his silver rapier. The attacks are lacking any finesse or flourish, but compensate it with strength.
Conceal, DC5: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Attack, sickened 1: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 1 = 15
Damage, rage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
Conceal, DC5: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Attack, sickened 1: 1d20 + 9 - 1 - 5 ⇒ (19) + 9 - 1 - 5 = 22

Conceal, DC5: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Attack, sickened 1: 1d20 + 9 - 1 - 10 ⇒ (4) + 9 - 1 - 10 = 2
Damage, rage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
I began raging last round when I was 18 dmg down. Raging gave me 6 temporary HP and then I took 4 burning damage. So the 4 should go from my
6 temporary ;) I think
GM Wayfinder
Sitril finishes the rat off!
Round 3
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 13 damage - sickened 1
Blue cold -
Red fire -
Round 4
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage (2 temp left) - sickened 1
Sorry. Changed damage.
GM Wayfinder
The two drudges glance at Tamerius, and react in totally opposite ways as the electric arc of hellish electricity hits them!
Blue Cold has a terrified look on its face, fearing Hell and--
1d20 ⇒ 1
--exploding with Hellfire!
Crit' fail, 16 damage
Whereas Red Fire smiles, seemingly loving Hell and all it stands for!
1d20 ⇒ 20
Hellfire loves it too, for it does not damage the drudge.
Crit' success, 0 damage!
Round 3
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Giggett - 13 damage - sickened 1
Blue cold - 16 damage
Red fire -
Round 4
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage (2 temp left) - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett
Seeing the two newcomers, Giggett switches her attention. She first gathers lightnings at her fingertips and direct them to the 2 creatures.
Electric Arc: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10 lightning damage, basic reflex DC 18.
And, as usual, she finishes with an arrow on the icy creature.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
GM Wayfinder
Both newcomers be nimble, be quick, and avoid some of the electric arc!
5 damage each
Then the cold looking one is hit by the arrow...
4 damage
Round 3
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Blue cold - 25 damage
Red fire - 5 damage
Round 4
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage (2 temp left) - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 13 damage - sickened 1
Natsume Ren
Natsume trots in, swinging her flail as usual--
Flail Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Ayyyyy
Bludgeoning Damage vs. Blue: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Of course it would be a 1...
She pops her shield up to defend against future incoming attacks!
GM Wayfinder
BOP goes the flail--
Crit' for 6
--and blue gets a big bump on the head.
Natsume is proud, because she refrained from hitting too hard. She used just enough energy to finish it off, without indulging in overkill.
The drudge goes cross eyed and-- dies.
Blue is dead
Red has had the same nice things stuffed into its stomach and-- it vomits on Giggett, before trying to crack her jaw with a left jab.
It hurts-- and it is hot!
Hit, for 12 bludgeoning & fire damage
Giggett tries to avoid the vomit--
DC 17 basic Reflex save vs. 8 acid damage
Round 4
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage (2 temp left) - sickened 1
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 25 damage - sickened 1 - DC 17 basic Reflex vs. 8 acid damage
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Red fire - 5 damage
Round 5
Sitril Anvilbrand
Sitril rushes around the table and strikes at the last vomiter
"Eat this! And leave Giggett alone!"
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Damage, rage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (14) + 9 - 5 = 18
Damage, rage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10
GM Wayfinder
Sitril rushes up and hits the drudge hard, but then his second blow is somewhat cushioned by his being sick, and the drudge manages to avoid it.
Hit + Miss, 11 damage
The drudge eats it, unhappily, but it eats it.
Round 4
Tamerius Archilus - 14 damage
Giggett - 25 damage - sickened 1 - DC 17 basic Reflex vs. 8 acid damage
Natsume Ren - 14 damage - sickened 1
Red fire - 16 damage
Round 5
Sitril Anvilbrand - 18 damage (2 temp left) - sickened 1
Giggett
Unexpected Shift: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Giggett again tries some gnome technique to no avail...
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
But she manages to avoid part of the acid (4 damage).
Does Natsume use her reaction to protect Giggett from the acid?
Giggett steps so Sitril and her are now flanking the ugly monster. She then stabs it with her arrows!
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (3) = 5 piercing damage + precision piercing damage.
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 10 extra piercing damage.
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Her first attack is crazy accurate! She's pretty sure the creature's dead but she insist on putting a second, useless, arrow in its head or what could be it's head now.
Natsume Ren
Does Natsume use her reaction to protect Giggett from the acid?
Realistically, I'd have used it on the punch that came first.
GM Wayfinder
As Red vomits on Giggett--
--Natsume calls to Redemption!
The drudge's back bends low under the weight, and its blows is not as harsh.
12 bludgeoning & fire damage reduced to 7
And then Giggett, who is unable to shift, still avoids most of the vomit.
4 damage
The vomit makes an acid pool under her feet.
Gigget steps away from the vomit and sticks an arrow into the drudge's enfeebled mind, killing it.
Then Giggett insists on putting a second, useless, arrow-- into her own eye!
OUCH!
You all take some seconds to recover from the stench of the sulfur fumes of the fiery rat, and feel better.
Except for Tamerius who steps in and inhales-- sad that the stench is gone.

Giggett wrote:Realistically, I'd have used it on the punch that came first.
Does Natsume use her reaction to protect Giggett from the acid?
The order of events wasn't clear. It looked like the acid came first. But anyway, I'm not that hurt, and that's the important part!
Giggett nods in agreement.
"I'm badly hurt, I'm in for a break."
