Sitril Anvilbrand |
Likewise, I play with him at another table and he turned silent, I sent him a pm. I really hope it is just crazy party after which he woke up at the sea... Crazy times
GM Wayfinder |
Sitril drops his rapier and grabs tight with both hands.
One hand gets the creature around the neck-- totally restraining it.
The other hand grabs a leg-- and blocks it.
The pot-tosser is doubly stopped.
But, as Sitril wonders why it takes so long-- the pot-tosser moves time and makes everything stretch out for ever so long!
Sorry about that... back on track I hope!
Tamerius keeps on thinking-- and with all the time he seems to have in those few seconds, he remembers one of his aunts who disliked having to feed her Halfling slaves, and thus created these little servants: "They do not eat and do not poop, so much cleaner!"
Tamerius knows the pot-tosser is a homunculus.
A tiny-sized construct.
His aunt could communicate mentally with them - "Also better since I do not need to ring my bell to summon my slave!" - and you know the creature has a "master link", meaning it is telepathically linked to its creator and can share information back and forth, including its master’s knowledge and everything the homunculus hears. The range of this link is 1,500 feet.
Tamerius remembers also that one summer he and his cousins nearly killed their aunt!
They shot arrows at her construct-servants, destroying them-- before realizing that if the homunculus is destroyed, the master takes 2d10 mental damage!
The aunt was not happy-- and switched to normal little-person slaves after that!
The creature is immune to bleed, death effects, disease, doomed, drained, fatigued, healing, necromancy, nonlethal attacks, paralyzed, poison, sickened, unconscious--
But it is obviously not immune to being grabbed since it squirms and shakes but cannot get out of Sitril's strong hands.
--finally, Tamerius knows that homunculi normally have one dose of poison in a reservoir in their heads, that they administrate by biting.
Round 2
Pot Tosser - double grabbed
Giggett - 6 damage
Natsume Ren
Sitril Anvilbrand
Tamerius Archilus
1d20 ⇒ 10
1d20 ⇒ 8
1d20 - 5 ⇒ (12) - 5 = 7
1d20 - 10 ⇒ (4) - 10 = -6
Tamerius Archilus |
Tamerius wonders if the creature is different from the others in the Alchemical room...
It's a homunculi, a construct tied to its master. Most like the others in the alchemical room beyond the double door in the fountain room.
Tamerius explains to his comrades what a homunculi is and how they are tied to their master.
Natsume Ren |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Natsume reenters the room, tearing off a bite of chicken. She is dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, with a nice, dark pair of sunglasses.
”Hey, the producer stopped by and bought everyone some chicken! Wh—...oh, are we rolling? Just a sec.”
She puts her plate down, slips off the set, and returns with her hide armor and shield.
”All right, so do we kill it? Cram it in a jar and tie a lid on real good?”
GM Wayfinder |
Tamerius knows both are alchemical-made constructs. With some similar things. So they both have the same type of link, and immunities and probably the same master. One is loaded with poison, and is more of a familiar of sorts. The others are a bit bigger (small size) and are more like helpers for specific tasks.
Giggett |
Giggett smiles:
"I'd gladly use my manacles on this creature and slit its throat in front of its mistress..."
Sitril Anvilbrand |
Sitril looks at Giggett:
"It is a bit cold-blooded if you ask me, but it sounds fair. Pass the manacles" says the dwarf.
Let us cuff it and throw it into a bag
GM Wayfinder |
So, Giggett will go to take the manacles and start applying them to the tiny pot-tosser?
Giggett |
Giggett gets her manacles from her belt and starts blocking the creature wings (I assume the creature main movement type is flying, right?). Once it'll be done, she'll also blindfold and gag the imp... or let Tamerius do it.
GM Wayfinder |
Giggett gets her hands free, and then retrieves her manacles out and prepares to start restraining the flying thingy... to reduce its fly speed.
This will not immobilize it since you are not attaching it to anything. And, as last time you used it, it is an Exploration activity that takes 10 to 30 seconds.
The little pot-tosser squirms and is so rubbery that it manages to ]url=https://2e.aonprd.com/Actions.aspx?ID=79]squeeze out of Sitril's grasp[/url]--
(and it seems the Escape frees from all conditions imposed by one adversary, thus both of Sitril's grabs). Tell me if someone sees anything saying that that is not the case
GM Wayfinder |
The pot-tosser's rubbery body is squeezed tight, but it manages to seemingly squeeze even more and slip out of Stiril's sturdy Dwarven hands with a plop!
It opens the door-- which is redundant if the door was already open-- and flies across the room and disappears into the stairs.
It has 45 move flying, so makes it even if only 1 move left
In the room, which is a long chamber packed full of alchemical gear and experiments, cauldrons stand next to tables where even now volatile mixtures are brewing and bubbling.
A large furnace is opposite the door, just behind a long pool of water with a statue of a woman standing at its head.
To the east, a passageway reveals a set of descending spiral stairs into which the pot-tosser flew.
The tables to the north and south are covered in alchemical equipment. The creatures working here are in the middle of making flasks of some sort and they stare at you after watching the pot tosser fly through.
These creatures are like bigger versions of the pot-tosser, larger, wingless, homonculi.
You count four of such creatures occupying this laboratory,
Round 3
Pot Tosser - gone
Giggett - 6 damage
Natsume Ren
Sitril Anvilbrand
Tamerius Archilus
Sitril Anvilbrand |
Sitril curses on how slippery the flying thing is and rushes behind it. He runs next to the tables and standing homonculis and attempts to grab it again.
Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
"Hold still! You flying pumpkin!"
GM Wayfinder |
Sitril leaves his weapons lying on the ground behind and rushes into the room, past the beakers and the bubbling pots, and the other rubbery constructs, to go and grab the pot-tosser who was starting down the stairs...
"Eek!"
The other lab workers become quite agitated and are obviously about to rush Sitril aggressively--

Lab Workers
Natsume Ren |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Natsume hustles after Sitril, naturally—mostly to protect him from the imminent mobbing.
"Pardon us!" she says, dancing around a table. "Nothing to worry about, just keep doing what you're doing!" She stumbles between two workers. "Unless it's bad, then don't! You should form a union! The boss is reliant on you, not the other way around!"
GM Wayfinder |
The four lab-workers stare at Natsume aggressively, and follow her with their eyes.
Giggett--
Giggett |
Considering the overall situation and the nice grins on the lab worker faces, Giggett puts her manacles back in place and starts playing with her bow, targetting the closest enemy.
"Time to switch strategy, guys..."
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Unfortunately, her arrows both hit the floor...
GM Wayfinder |
Giggett puts her manacles away and pulls her bow out--
(2 hands free for manacles - not that is changes anything but does save an arrow!)
--and misses her target.
Tamerius--
Tamerius Archilus |

As Giggett engages the creatures, Tamerius decides to follow and says Now their Mistress knows we're here.
And calls for Hell's Thunder to punish the closest creatures Yellow and Blue

Electricity lashes out at the two alchemical drudges-- but does nothing at all to them.
Yellow--

--looks at Blue--
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

They both shrug.
2 crit' saves. I am back!
The yellow drudge moves up to Giggett, looks her in the eye and--
VOMITS all over the Gnome!
The puke pours all over, and starts to burn-- it is acidic!
DC 17 basic Reflex save, Acid damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
The blue drudge moves all the way up to Tamerius, and tries to give some of its own hell--
Fist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
--bashing the Cleric with a lumpy fist-- that also sprays freezing alchemical liquid over Tamerius' arm.
Bludgeoning + Cold: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (6) = 10
The orange drudge moves up to Sitril, and vomits on the dwarf.
"BARRRF!"
DC 17 basic Reflex save, Acid damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
Natsume can of course block damage and do her thing - you go for it?
The red drudge swings at Natsume--
Fist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
--but hits nothing...
So it pukes on Natsume too!
DC 17 basic Reflex save, Acid damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
The pot-tosser--
1d20 ⇒ 17
--is rubbery and squeezes out of the dwarf's grasp: "EEK!"
And flies away down the stairs real fast...

Round 5
Pot Tosser
Natsume Ren |
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Spot on!
Side note, can I have foxed fixed any of that with my Glimpse of Redemption?
GM Wayfinder |
Yes re. Glimpse of Redemption.
I imagine it would be for Sitril (that is why I wrote "Natsume can of course block damage and do her thing - you go for it?")
Natsume's Patron-God has a eery fox-tail appear-- that wipes up all the vomit on Sitril.
The liquid pools on the ground, but does not burn Sitril.
But Natsume is not helped-- so she is a little burnt by the acid.

Pot Tosser
Giggett |
Giggett tries to avoid the vomit...
Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
But massively fails.
She then tries to tumble through the creatures space to go on the other side of them.
Tumble: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
And succeeds (considering the check).
She then attacks the icy creature.
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + (3) = 8 piercing damage + precision piercing damage.
Deadly (if crit): 1d10 ⇒ 2
And badly hits the creature.
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + (3) = 7 piercing damage + precision piercing damage.
Her second attack on the other hand hardly hits (or not).
Tamerius Archilus |
Tamerius calls again for Hell's power on the two creature fighting him and Giggett
Damage, E (Basic Reflex DC19): 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 3) + 3 = 10
Then strikes with his bare hands the creature.
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damages, B: 1d4 ⇒ 4
GM Wayfinder |
Giggett is burnt by the acid vomited out--
4 damage
--but leaves it in a pool behind her as her small body moves past the small drudge, tumbling to the other side.
She then shoots an arrow at the icy drudge and sticks it right into its head, very deep.
18 damage
She shoots again, and manages to hit, thanks to the creature being flat footed - and maybe because it has an arrow somewhere in what might be its brain!
7 damage
Tamerius then sends electricity flying-- this time the cold-blue one totally fails and is very badly burnt, the arrow in the head driving the spell right into its body!
It is totally destroyed...
Crit' fail ; dead
While the other does not fail as badly... but is still badly hit.
But Tamerius' fist bounces off the rubbery body--

Sitril reaches out for his axe and turns around.
He almost didn't see the attack but it is not a reason to let this slide.
He takes a swing and slashes at the closest homunculi
Attack@Orange: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

3rd action: attack.

Whether she knocks the assailant off balance or not, she resets her shield after.
Turtling up while the rest of the crew does their thing; Raise Shield and Take Cover in place, will Glimpse of Redemption or Shield Block, whichever comes first!
"You holding up okay?" she asks the priest.
GM Wayfinder |
The shield bounces off the rubbery enemy--

Natsume's deity saved Sitril from the pain and harm of the acid vomit, but the liquid pooled up on the floor at the dwarf's feet, and starts bubbling up and eating away at his legs.
12 acid damage
The pool of vomit-acid seems still quite active.
The same where Giggett was standing-- and where Natsume is still standing. The foxy-lass is burnt too...
9 acid damage
Yellow turns to face Giggett and vomits on her--
DC 17 basic Reflex save vs. 10 acid damage
--before striking a fist into her chest!
Acid erupts around where the blow hit...
11 bludgeoning and acid damage
You realize the drudges are not totally dumb, maybe even a little smart?
They realize that two enemies are still standing in the bubbling acid, and so they do not vomit on them, but simply rain blows on them.
Orange lashes out at Sitril, who sees that electricity flashes around the drudge's fists since the first blow hits--
11 electricity damage
--but not the second, nor the third blow!
Natsume reaches out, and blocks the blow that hit-- and the drudge is fine with letting this happen, and not letting some damage through but feeling bad about it.
Reaction: Glimpse of Redemption, all damage removed
Then, Red lashes out at Natsume, who sees that flames flash around the drudge's fists.
She sees this when the Drudge sticks it fist into its own eye!
Crit' fail!
Then nothing hits, not the second, nor the third blow...

Giggett |
Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Giggett fails to avoid the acid and is once again rinced.
She then tries to use a little gnome trick...
Unexpected Shift: 1d20 ⇒ 2
... but fails once again.
"No I'm not, thanks for asking!"
She then moves out of the acid pool and behind the flaming imp.
Attack VS Flat-Footed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Piercing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Making a decent enough connection, she brings her shield back up once more!
As always, Block or Glimpse as required. If Glimpse, use the physical status ailment, not the magical one. (Don't have a minute to look them up right now!)
GM Wayfinder |
Natsume hits the red one--
