Please post your PFS details here:

I like to run a fast-paced game by pbp standards, and aim for a one post per day minimum. I do understand that real life gets in the way of gaming from time to time - please have a Bot Me spoiler on your character sheet / profile. I will normally bot or delay you if you have not taken a turn in combat 24 hours after your turn comes up.
We'll begin at the official start of Gameday VIII.

So every day I'll be channeling the spirit of the Marshal, which in this case, is your old friend Janira that died to a minotaur. As long as your ok with Janira helping you out from beyond the grave, you get to select one of the following boons that last all day. Every day, you'll be able to select the same boon or a new one if you'd like.
Archmage:
Seance Boon: Your damaging spells deal an additional 2 points of damage of the same type that they would normally deal to each target.
Champion:
Seance Boon: You gain a +2 bonus on all non-spell damage rolls.
Guardian:
Seance Boon: You gain a +1 bonus to CMD.
Hierophant:
Seance Boon: Your healing spells and abilities heal an additional 2 points of damage to each target. This does not affect healing conferred by magic items, nor does it add to fast healing or similar effects.
Trickster:
Seance Boon: Choose one skill when you gain this seance boon. You gain a +1 bonus on skill checks using that skill, and that skill counts as a class skill for you.

![]() |

Love that! Is the Trickster boon 'untyped'?
By the way, I picked up Sleeves of Many Garments to make it easier to impersonate people. Re-worked some things, so I am +22 to pretend to be other people.

![]() |

I’m grabbing a pair of sleeves for myself! Can be useful to have multiple people in disguise.
Naturally I’ll probably nab that healing benefit. For those not in the Discord, Hiiragi is grabbing a level of Primal Hunter Barbarian, which should have pretty good synergy with her Growth domain. Hiiragi will be straight Cleric from there onwards. Love the tie-in with Janira!

![]() |

Yep, all those bonuses are untyped! Medium is a really awesome class (as long as you don't play archmage honestly).

There is now a link to the slides for the scenario at the top of the page, and in my profile header.
I have borrowed slides from a run by GM Ultra Plus. (I sometimes copy and adapt slides already available when running a forum PbP, it saves a fair bit of time and effort).

I am due to have minor surgery on Sunday. It's an outpatient procedure, but I will be sedated so there's a possibility I might not post on Sunday/Monday as I recover. Should be back to normal Monday evening though.
I will aim to get an intro post up before Sunday pm though.

![]() |

I don’t actually recall Janira dying to the Minotaur. Am I the only one? I can play along with whatever, but just wondering for my own sanity what happened in our confirmation.

![]() |

Oh darn, it must have been the non-kitsune table she died at, that's what I get for not checking. Welp, she died at one of my tables, so she can tell you all about how another group got her killed in their confirmation instead.

GM supervillan |

How would you prefer that I handle this climb/scramble?
Normally since I am using block initiative, I'll take your actions in posting order within the block. The complication here is that Kenta has posted his climb checks under a spoiler, I think because he's expecting me to adjudicate Juzo and Toshiko's climb checks first because they rolled higher initiative - and that might have influenced Juzo or Toshiko's actions?
So the choice is:
1. stick with block initiative - I resolve Kenta's checks first.
2. resolve Kenta's checks after Juzo and Toshiko's, because that's what Kenta was expecting (but otherwise keep using block initiative)

![]() |

I wouldn't normally use a spoiler like that, but when posting in this specific situation (only one route to the enemy and it being reliant upon speed and climb skill) I was trying to do it to avoid effecting the actions of my allies, since they would officially have acted first.
I tend to run my initiatives as blocks as well where anyone who is up can post. But the order generally stays in place when resolving things, so I probably sorta assumed* that would be the case here. There are definite pros and cons to running it either way.
Either way, I don't think I should take a side on this issue since I am aware of either outcome. If forced to make a decision, I'd say stick with how you usually handle things.
*Always unwise to assume anything! :P

![]() |

In my opinion, PbP is a really cool format to actually have characters act as simultaneous as possible, because thats far more realistic than the one person at time turn system we have to use on a table.
Not really sure if that helps here, but I tend to adjust the order of players to be the most favorable order if they all are acting together.

![]() |

Extremely sorry. Typhoon Hagibis has get me scrambling go get some things handled here but I hope to be back on stable posting tomorrow.

GM supervillan |

The Dead Man's Debt is fulfilled! Congratulations fox-folk :)
I am travelling for the next two days, but will get your chronicles done when I get back, probably at the weekend.
I think I am supposed to roll boons - I'll check the Gameday notes.
What next tor the kitsune skulk?

![]() |

I am in a decent position to take a turn to run a scenario if no one else is available. Gameday is starting to finally twiddle down and nothing major on the PbP convention front till 2020 I believe. While the holidays are busy for all and stressful, I'm sure I could get us through something over the next couple months.
But, if someone else has something planned, I'm happy to let them take the reigns.

![]() |

I'm up for almost anything, although if we decide I should run a scenario, I only have one (Consortium Compact) that I know about :P

![]() |

If I run something, I'd rather run a later season. It looks like 9-22, 10-10 and 10-12 might be available for our group. Other options might open up quite a bit depending on who is playing/gm'ing though.
I would strongly suggest not playing 10-10, based on personal experience playing it in Core.

![]() |

10-10 has garnered a lot of negative reviews. Either of the others look good.

![]() |

Don't include me in your decision, I'm very close to finishing up all my games and taking a break from PbP.

![]() |

Down for anything. Just make sure it starts in a tavern so Toshiko can join the expedition :P

![]() |

Alright, I think I've given it enough time to see if anyone else wants to run something. I will go ahead and take the reigns for the next game. I've decided that 9-22 looks the best, so I'll be starting that up tentatively on Monday, unless things move slower.
I have a few options for working a Tavern setting in, we'll see how it plays out.
Juzo, you in? With Takabe splitting, does that also put us down to 5?

![]() |

I have been getting drained tbh (GMing a special for the first time didn't help either). Trying some new medications and life has been pretty busy. I may need to sit this one just to recover so I can handle games more effectively.

![]() |

I don't see why we can't run it with four, it is a late season one so the adjustments will be in place. And with you planning to sit one out, I'd say we just run this with four and then evaluate if we need to recruit more to the gang after the next session.
I'm open to discussion though.

![]() |

I'm good with a party of four, provided we have some bases covered. Let's see, that'd be:
-Hiiragi (Divine healing, some ranged capability, decent at smashy-smash)
-Ikari (Divine healing, reach and AoO's)
-Toshiko (Can singlehandedly handle any booze-based monster, better ranged capability, swashbuckler goodness+survivability)
-Onna (Arcane casting, Bardic performance, Realistic Likeness)
It's not a bad group tbh! Good mix of casters, melee, ranged, and skills.

![]() |

And with a possible sunken pirate ship, you most likely will face an alcohol elemental of some sort. Toshiko's skills will come greatly into play. :P

![]() |

I'm looking to be quite busy tomorrow and this weekend, so I'll just wait till Monday to put together the new thread. But after that is open, the actually game should start pretty quick.

GM supervillan |

The yellow square, if visible, is an artefact of the note that I made about Yellowheart Wood on the chronicles.
Success Conditions
Your first PP is earned by establishing peaceful contact with the Ekujae and learning of Sharrowsmith's bargain; your second PP requires you to both defeat Kaghaze the were-bat AND destroy the altar to the evil bat-god Camazotz.
Destroying the altar before killing Kaghaze also earns you the Kaghaze Redeemed boon.
There is a boon that is crossed out because it only applies if you contract lycanthropy from Kaghaze but otherwise succeed at he mission - the elders of the Ekujae cure you with a ritual that leaves you with a facial scar, and that's all the boon indicates.
Just reporting and booning to do - new post coming up.

GM supervillan |

Boonage - standard Gameday procedure applies. I'll make the rolls for expediency, a 19 or 20 wins a boon, a 1d3 determines which boon.
gm supervillan: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Hiiragi: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Juzo: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Kenta: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Onna: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Takabe: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Toshiko: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Boons for Onna and Takabe!
Onna: 1d3 ⇒ 3 Debt to Society
Takabe: 1d3 ⇒ 1 Seen it Once
Onna and Takabe, I need your email addresses for the report so that you can be sent the boons. I'll report the game once I have these.
