Shondra grew up in a perfectly ordinary life. She was not teased or bullied as a youth, did not lose her parents or siblings to some tragedy, was never jilted by a loved one, or any of the other things that seem to plague those of her ilk.
Archery came naturally to her. She picked up her first bow at the age of 4 and her skill only grew from there.
If practice makes perfect, then Shondra is well on her way to perfection. She hones her skills daily with a strict regime of practice and exercise.
Her motivation for adventuring is actually pretty basic. She was tired of her boring, mundane, perfectly ordinary life. A group of people came through her village on their way to a grand adventure, and theirs was the career path she desired to follow. She kissed her folks goodbye, hugged her brother and sister, and left to seek her fortune.

I never quite got around to making some character details. Such as which god Galessa will VMC for. So long as our Dwarven Cleric shows up, I’ll go Adabar. Because a grumpy Dwarven Cleric, with a happy and pleasant elf? It strikes me as being interesting.

Hey folks!
I have about 29 gold left. If anyone wants I'll happily loan some out to you; of course, with weekly interest reviews and penalty rates if you don't pay on time, a small fee for opening the account and don't forget read the fine print...
Looking forward to playing :)

Hey team, I've been looking through the builds and something jumps out at me:
We have a range focus cleric with the highest AC, a Range focus Fighter, a Reach focus swashbuckler, a squishy sorcerer & rogue. Am I reading this right?
Does either the cleric or fighter need a retool to be tank/frontline fighter?
Between the cleric, sorcerer, swashbuckler and myself we have the face role covered, but tactically speaking we need someone to soak the damage. My Rogue build is meant to use stealth to hide behind the tank and use dirty tricks to hobble the enemy to support the damage dealers.
Forgive me if this seems like I'm telling you how to play your character but can I suggest either the cleric or fighter put on heavy armor and switch to melee?
thoughts?

While the advice is appreciated, I think we will be alright. The light crossbow is Abadar's favored weapon which gets bonus feats applied to it from Crusader. Also this character will be working towards the Balanced Scale of Abadar PrC. Changing that would turn this into a completely different character. If a melee focus character is needed I do have some ideas for tanky druid or inquisitor.
Ragnar Barrowheim |
We can also change up our tactics to take advantage of so much ranged ability.
Caltrops! LOTS of caltrops!
Also dirty tricks to delay enemy, run away, turn and shoot!
Also some teamwork feats can enhance this.
My Cleric is planning on getting ranged Trip/Disarm/Steal so we will have some tactical options outside of buff spells.

Same. Retooling my focus would completely change the character as I envision her. I have never tried a plain vanilla, ranged fighter before and think it might be fun. I'm with Ragnar, though. I think that we can make this work. I'm all for teamwork feats, if someone wants to team up with me.

I’m not 100% committed to this character. I do have a melee oracle build I’ve been wanting to try out that I could try. Should be very tanky while still being a full caster.
Actually...I think that I’ll do that. It also makes the +2 Wis less overpowered given the low point buy.

Alright. So to give us some close combat tankiness...
Race: Human (Dimdweller-60ft Darkvision, Bonus feat, +2 Cha)
Stats: Str (8) Dex (8) Con (14) Int (12) Wis (12) Cha (18) HP (11) AC (18/14/14) CMD (13) Saves (2/4/3)
To Hit: +4 (+6 DF)
Damage: 1d6+4 (+6 DF)
Traits: Seeker (+1 Perception and Class Skill) Two World Magic (Prestidigitation known), Fate’s Favored (+1 to luck bonuses), Occult Bargain-Desna (You take a –1 penalty on concentration checks, and you must invoke the entity’s name by word or text each day or be unable to regain spell slots that day. You must be able to cast 0-level and 1st-level spells as a class feature to select this drawback.)
Class: Lore Oracle VMC Magus
Curse: Haunted (Retrieving any stored item from your gear requires a standard action, unless it would normally take longer. Any item you drop lands 10 feet away from you in a random direction. Add mage hand and ghost sound to your list of spells known.)
Mystery: Sidestep Secret (Charisma for Ref, AC and CMD instead of Dex)
Feats: Noble Scion of War (Cha to Initiative), Way of the Shooting Star (You can add your Charisma bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls when wielding a starknife. If you do so, you don’t modify attack rolls and damage rolls with your starknife with your Strength modifier, your Dexterity modifier (if you have Weapon Finesse), or any other ability score (if you have an ability that allows you to modify attack rolls and damage rolls with that ability score).)
Equipment: Starknife with Weapon Cord, Studded Leather Armor, Buckler
Skills: Diplomacy (+9) Perception (+5) Knowledge Religion, Arcana, Planes (+4)
Lvl 0 Spells: Prestidigitation, Mage Hand, Ghost Sound, Stabilize
3x Lvl 1 Spells: Divine Favor, Cure Light Wounds
And from therein out, the focus is on disabling spells, like the sorceress was going to do.
——-
So all in all, a backup healer, someone else for the front line, a face, and eventually a disabler. Finally she’ll be decent in doing damage, even though she probably won’t be amazing due to lack of bab.
Ragnar Barrowheim |
Also with my build, I can turn off my reach weapon as a move to threaten things around me.
Neat setup. Don't forget your 2 traits. I did not see them when glancing over your character.

Good stuff.
The alternates I was considering was a Huntmaster/Ranger going into Nature Warden,
Grenadier Alchemist with a dash of Gunslinger or amature gunslinger.
That would leave us without an arcane caster
Halders Isgood |
I could take a few levels of bard or sorcerer and go into shadow dancer or arcane trickster. It would mean I don't focus on tricks so much but I like the idea of being mobile and bamfing around.
Halders Isgood |
Hey Liam, can I run this past you: Ragnar and I have been talking and we'd like Ragnar to mentor Halders.
Halders is going to write a letter to his mum and send it when he gets to town. The letter will complain about Ragnar as a grumpy old coot. But the return letter would reprimand Halders and beg Ragnar to take the halfling under his wing and teach him how to behave like a good follower of Abadar.
Halders Isgood |
Very cool idea. You've got two "Making Friends or Enemies" are they different?
and the first 'Making Friends or Enemies' and 'Hero or Villain' have the same text. Are they different too or are you just being cagey with us about specifics?
Also, how would one go about getting more details about optional quests?
Also also, the completionist in me wants to collect all the xp
Also also also, is Lady Origena a representative of one of the families or is that an in-game roll? Anyone got Know(Nobility)?
Liam Mooney |
Oops, that's me trying to type late at night sorry, had it all typed and then it didn't submit so had to redo - I'll correct it later.
Essentially its an individual family (based on the principal NPC from there), everyone in one faction and then the whole town.
Lady Origena is one of them. Mechanically it's the 53 locations on the map and she's the principal NPC for the Devy Manor (number 27).

I'm asking all my folks to forgive me for a few days. I had a friend commit suicide this morning and I need some time to process this. I will be back in a day or three. In the meantime, if you or someone you know needs to talk, PLEASE call someone! Send me a private message if nothing else. I am always willing to listen and I promise that it will remain confidential!!
