Please go to This Googledoc and fill out both the table and one line of each macro for your PC. Thanks.
P.S. While you're probably aware, just in case Mal, you could choose to spend 2 prestige points for that wand instead...
Flora Mossgreen |
Day Job Survival: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (18) + 27 = 45
Spend 2 prestige for a wand of keep watch.

Especially in light of the delay it might be worth mentioning that I have a level 10 shaman I could bring that can cast breath of life. He specializes in debuffs, healing and can wandering hex arcane enlightenment to bring any sorcerer wizard spell. I didn’t realize our kineticist was a switch hitter, so that may be more valuable than my tanky melee, but I am curious what the rest of you think.
Daathiel |
I think you could bring either. No real preference.
GM Uktar |
As many of you may already know, the powers-that-be have decided to push back the start of PbP GD VIII by 2 weeks, and we've been told not to kick off early. So please check back 2 weeks from now and we'll get this party started.
Mal 001 |
Mal will also purchase a scroll of Heal, a scroll of Breath of Life, a scroll of restoration (no negative level, 800gp version), a scroll of lesser restoration, Bead of Newt Prevention, 3 Pearls of Power (1), a dream journal of the pallid seer, and using his Master of Trade discount, a Circlet of Persuasion, in addition to the aforementioned Wand of Heightened Awareness.

FYI: I have a family wedding this weekend, and I'll be driving for 12+ hours on Thursday and Sunday. The pacing of my posts will lag a bit, and I may have difficulty posting every day. My apologies for the blip, and we'll see how i manage.
GM Uktar |
Do we actively roll sense motive or do you GM roll it as appropriate?
Mal: Both. I will be making rolls organically (and already have), but any time a player wants to make a roll proactively, they are more than welcome to do so.
Daathiel |
Mal does not gain any of the bonuses from Daathiel's performance once he moves around the creature - Naturalist has only a 30' range.
I rather expected we would let the TWF monstrosity close with us and only get a single attack while we could full attack. Rather than moving up to it so it can full-attack us and we only get single attacks.
Flora Mossgreen |
If we have the same time to prepare before every fight, Flora would use her wand of heightened awareness for the +4 to initiative before each one.
Daathiel |
If we are actually going in initiative order, then Daathiel would not be able to use Saving Finale on Mal because he wouldn't have started his performance yet (or even acted) when Mal failed the save.
Mal, do you have a reroll available?
Generally in block initiative a GM can choose to resolve things in posting order with the implication that people within the block are delaying (it's what I tend to do), but with this Will save happening at the start of your turn that assumption doesn't work so well.
Mal 001 |
I do have a reroll available, but it will be a long tournament, and I also already know the result. I was hoping someone else would have a remove fear to get me back in the fray but maybe not.
Hopefully Flora and Jeras can deal with this monstrocity alone.
If I remember correctly, even when panicked, if I manage to get out of sight (and hearing) range of the creature, my fear is suppressed until I see it again? If so maybe I can remove fear on myself at that time and return to the match.
GM Uktar |
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Mal. We'll soldier on until your return.

In a bit of a weird place when it comes to purchases, and I've never dealt with this in terms of PFS. Been in plenty of places where purchases weren't an option, but that's not quite the situation here. If anyone has input/guidance on this, feel free to speak up.
Per the agreement you signed, you're supposed to remain on Xielan Island for the duration of the Tournament, so there really isn't the option to hop a ferry and go to Goka (at least, not without risking getting caught and maybe kicked out of the tourney--if someone could teleport, so nobody would know you've left the island, that'd probably work). the village on Xielan Island does have specs in the modulde. Even though the village of New Harbor only has 71 residents, the specs in the module set the Base Value of 780gp (higher than what would normally be for a village this size). Straight up by the rules, there's a 75% chance that something would be available whose value is 780 or less. I rolled for the potion of Fly and it was available. A scroll of restoration is 800gp, which exceeds the Base Value, so it's unavailable.
Mal 001 |
You form a weapon using your kinetic abilities. You create a non-reach, light or one-handed weapon in your hand formed of pure energy or elemental matter. (If you’re a telekineticist, you instead transfer the power of your kinetic blast to any object held in one hand.) The kinetic blade’s shape is purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect the damage dice, critical threat range, or critical multiplier of the kinetic blade, nor does it grant the kinetic blade any weapon special features. The object held by a telekineticist for this form infusion doesn’t prevent her from using gather power.
You can use this form infusion once as part of an attack action, a charge action, or a full-attack action in order to make melee attacks with your kinetic blade. Since it’s part of another action (and isn’t an action itself), using this wild talent doesn’t provoke any additional attacks of opportunity. The kinetic blade deals your kinetic blast damage on each hit (applying any modifiers to your kinetic blast’s damage as normal, but not your Strength modifier). The blade disappears at the end of your turn. The weapon deals the same damage type that your kinetic blast deals, and it interacts with Armor Class and spell resistance as normal for a blast of its type. Even if a telekineticist uses this power on a magic weapon or another unusual object, the attack doesn’t use any of the magic weapon’s bonuses or effects and simply deals the telekineticist’s blast damage. The kinetic blade doesn’t add the damage bonus from elemental overflow.
Your kinetic blade lasts until end of turn, so just 1 point
GM Uktar |
Yep. Only downside is no attacks of opportunity, etc, cuz its gone as soon as your turn is over.

For the intellectually curious, she was a dragon disciple sorceress. She dimension doored out when she was aware of your approach. SHe buffed up and dim doored back. Her plan had been to try and dominate Flora, but before she could get close enough to FLora to cast Dominate (extra distance to ground meant she had to get close), the echolocation tipped her off she'd been spotted, and it was ON like Donkey Kong. (Her stealth was actually enough to beat Mal until she got to the exact same distance as the echolocation--weird when the dice line up that way) Daathiel even had a shot so spot her with invisibility up, but check wasn't that high, so it took the echolocation.
She didn't know if you'd noticed her when she left, but since you basically stayed in roughly the same area, she kinda figured you had and were on guard, though she hadn't spotted y'all at first, only Flora.

Public Service Announcement: We have crossed the halfway point of the five-day Tournament (at least in theory), but as previously warned, this is a looong module. I've been very happy with the pace and quality of play, and hope you're enjoying yourselves.
That being said, if anybody has need for us to pick up the pace so your character becomes available for play in other games, let me know. I can try and cut a few corners, though it'll probably mean I'll make more choices setting up for situations, etc. I prefer players get themselves readied, but I could speed it up if y'all need me to. Just let me know (you can always PM me, if you'd rather make the request privately). No worries.
Daathiel |
I am quite happy with this game, and Daathiel has nowhere else to be.
(I'd like him get a chance at All For Immortality someday, but there is none recruiting right now.)
Daathiel |
Sorry, been traveling (and in airport now). Will update later tonight with the buffs.
Flora Mossgreen |
Between Wednesday and today I've had no free time due to a crisis at work.
GM Uktar |
no worries. Thanks for letting us know. Luckily the party made quick work of things in your absence. Your turn for opening round v. Brine Dragon.
GM Uktar |
My apologies. Late on reporting, so making Boon rolls:
Flora: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Jeras: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Mal: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Daathiel: 1d20 ⇒ 1
GM roll: 1d20 ⇒ 1
no love.
Game will continue, but it is now being reported.
Jeras van Hidden |
Thanksgiving??? What is that!? We in Europe don't have that. Haha!
GM Uktar |
My apologies. What was supposed to be a long relaxing (American) holiday weekend was eaten up by family emergencies. I hope to power through at a better pace. Long post to follow on gameplay in a little while.
Daathiel |
Saving Flora seems the priority. Mal probably took a lot less damage because of that trait (which is fantastically good, basically half of Uncanny Dodge), and can fly, and is now invisible.
Flora can't fly, has only 83 effective HP (after her NL burn), just took 24 or 43 damage, is grappled, and has a fairly poor CMD.
At least she can blast while grappled, the dragon can't breathe every round, and hopefully the dragon still has the damage that we did to it earlier this day.
Jeras has Oil of Daylight which can be a useful counter to the dragon trying to strafe us from outside of Darkvision range.
Flora Mossgreen |
At least she can blast while grappled
Blasts are spell-like abilities, so it's not so easy to use them when grappled.
I've used a wand of grease to increase my CMD.
Daathiel |
Good idea. That CL14 wand of Dispel Magic could also be useful.
Flora Mossgreen |
The touch attack blasts have to check SR and dragons usually have decent SR. So I would hit on a 2 with the blast but would have to roll probably a decent SR check and I don't have a boosts so 1d20+10 vs its SR.
Overall it's probably just as difficult if not even a bit easier to get the physical blast to go through.
