He sees you and you see him, but he can't get a clear shot at you. Like litterally you have 3/4 cover. You can't get close to him, cause any path you choose that brings you closer to him forces you out into the open as he is on a mound. He refuses to leave his spot and the way away from him is 3/4 cover all the way until he is out of sight. So fight him or leave him?

Heroes do go around and they see large bat like creatures in a cave, a cave they must pass through, These bats are hostile. If only the heroes made noise and ran away weapons down pretending not to notice the sniper while running towards them. Cause, you know the sniper would probably fire at the greatest threat. It is risky though.

Cadan frowns at the bats. "Do you think we can sneak past them? I don't relish the idea of going back to that sniper. If we can't sneak past them I'd rather run past them; if they pursue us out of their cave at that point we could stand and fight."

Cadan has an untrained +5 to stealth. I think we should just use the run action to get through the cave and try to avoid a fight. If they want to fight we can fight on the other side of they follow us out.

You know they are blind right? They use sound waves to notice you, as sound waves bounce off objects. And their sense of smell too. In real life, and yes in this game as well. So unless you are crawling low to the ground so sounds waves bounce off you less, making less noise so they don't hear you and cover up your smell, ain't no way. Invisibility will do nothing against bats.

Roggi knows how to do that with the appropriate life science, disrupt their sense of smell, in fact with a survival skill they will fly away for now, with a higher one, they fly towards the sniper eliminating one problem or the other.

He ends up killing two of them no problem, but the third one is untouched and is now smelling you all as you head through the cave.

Map is there in full now. I tried to make heroes 1 inch assuming they understood 1 inch means 5 foot square. Yes you can travel behind you, that leads out of the cave. The creature is large sized. Hope you all had a good memorial day weekened, that is what I did.

The weekend was good. It enabled me to finish up the last of my personal business.

To make sure I understand our current situation:

1) We are in combat, with the bat thing.
2) it is on the ground in front of us, blocking our path forward.

LLanope does partial damage as he doesn't have cold iron or magic, then Saratur gets a good hit in, dealing the reduced physical damage part, and the acid does not affect it, so dealing 1 dmg total.
Kklacluns guns doesn't pierce through, but the pulsecaster pistol does hurt though and he finds out this ain't a vampire bat cause the undead ignore nonlethal, but instead an abberation.
The creature will swipe a tentacle at LLanope hit: 15 + 1d20 ⇒ 15 + (8) = 23 missing by that much
All heroes are up you know know it is resistant to nonmagical or non cold iron physical damage and immune to acid.

Seeing his pistol have no effect, K'Klacklun decides not to waste his ammunition. He searches his pack and produces a frag grenade. However, knowing his limted prowess, the shirren is reluctant to toss it in the direction of his companions.
