Haunts in my opinion weren't done well. I like the idea of a spooky type of trap but the mechanics just don't feel right.

I would have guessed that the corpses wanted to be cut down and given a proper burial, in this case. Or to be avenged.

Maybe in longer format play, or if the point of the adventure was to figure out how to get rid of a haunt I would like it better but it always feels like in PFS the proper way to deal with a haunt is to avoid it instead of solve it.

The one thing I know about haunts is that Knowledge (religion) is usually your go-to for "How to beat this"... though sometimes other skills help.

Also, Holy Water is your best friend.

Edit: Unfortunately, Solumn is not experienced enough for either of these options to have been available.

Ya those with K Religion tend to be pretty limited, and you've only got 1 round at best to do something before they activate. I just haven't read enough rules on them to be smooth and less clunky than say a regular trap is.

Oh for sure. I've run enough scenarios at this point to agree with that assessment. Some of them run just fine, and others seem to be kinda slapped together haphazardly.

As someone who loves them when they work well, Haunts definitely need some major overhaul in second edition. Haunting of Hinojai is still one of my all-time favorites.

Agreed. Doesn't happen to often, but helps keep the feeling of the game going.

Sorry if I wasn't as chatty with Solumn when the banter was flying. I'm still getting a feel for his personality, and while he is a bit introverted (part of the reason for the mask) he's not anti-social. Just need to develop his voice a bit more.
