As V10LET and Funfreemy move forward, they catch sight of a quivering twitch of black and white feathers in the pit. The creature starts moving, seeming to have noticed its visitors.
Surprise round, 1 move action or 1 standard action for Funfreemy, V10LET, and the creature. The creature is at the bottom of the 10' deep put. The edge of the pit currently provides mutual cover to and from the creature.
Iniatives as follows:

Movement detected, scanning for threats...
Entity matching target's description located...
Identifying unknown creature...
Identify, Life Science: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Reacting quickly, Violet announces into the team's comm channel, "Target located. It's at the bottom of the pit, approximately 10 feet deep. Engagement imminent." With that, she directs her exocortex to begin scanning the creature for weaknesses and feeding her combat telemetry on their target, training her rifle on it as she waits for confirmation of target lock.
Surprise round actions
Free Action: Identify the creature
Move Action: Target Feather Stalker with Combat Tracking

GM Berggen |

Violet's Exocortex is able to lock onto the creature, but no new information about capabilities or defenses is gained. A previous check made using the reports from the Stewards had established a 10' reach and sonic resistance.

GM Berggen |

The creature slides up the side of the pit and moves gracefully around Funfreemy. The creature is provoking.
Gardam, Funfreemy, Jelly, V10LET and Morvruul are up to act. Nikon may specify some conditionals and I'll finish the round if possible.

"Oh, how horrendous. Whatever will we do?" Morvruul mutters as he casually draws his pistol and fires at the featherstalker.

Jelly whips around when she hears V10LET's announcement. She makes her way back the way she came while issuing directions to Peanut Butter via her implanted custom rig to get him there as quickly as possible. Gosh darn these short legs. Good thing I made Peanut Butter faster than me.
Jelly Standard Action: perform move action to move my speed.
Jelly Move Action: Use Master Control class feature to allow drone to take a move and a standard.
Peanut Butter: use move and standard to double move.

Upon seeing the large creature exiting the large hole in the floor. Nikon lets hit training take over. He whisper ancient mystical words and suddenly 3 orbs shoot from his hand and hit the creature with force.
Magic Missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 1) + 3 = 8

![]() |

As the creature moves away from her to engage with her feran ally, Violet takes the opportunity to back up further into the crates, ensuring she would have a clear shot at the target and that it would hopefully have a harder time hitting her as well. She then takes aim with her rifle and squeezes the trigger, sending a directed laser bolt searing through the stagnant air of the warehouse and into the feathered creature's hide, scoring a glancing blow.
First Round Actions
Move Action: Move up and to the right between the crates
Standard Action: Attack with Azimuth Laser Rifle (19/20 shots remaining)
Attack, Combat Tracking: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage, Fire: 1d8 ⇒ 3

GM Berggen |

Violet's laser, Morvruul's bullet, and Gardam's arrow all find their mark on the creature. It shudders, the arrow still dangling like a branch caught in leaves and lashes out at Funfreemy. The first blow slides off harmlessly, but the second attack hits with enough force to jostle Funfreemy even through his armor.
Funfreemy takes 5 points of bludgeoning damage.
Nikon's magical darts briefly leave a trail of light through the warehouse as they streak into the creature.
Gardam, Funfreemy, Jelly, V10LET and Morvruul are up to act. Nikon may specify some conditionals and I'll finish the round if possible.

Come on, Peanut Butter, you're almost there! Jelly thinks as she directs her drone into the position she wants.
Jelly Standard Action: perform move action to move my speed.
Jelly Move Action: Use Master Control class feature to allow drone to take a move and a standard.
Peanut Butter: use move and standard to double move.
NOTE: PB is provoking.

"I suggest you not get hit." Morvruul says to the ferran Starfinders, hoping to provide a distraction as he fires another shot.

Taking in the tactical situation, Violet briefly considers whether it would be more efficient to continue taking carefully aimed shots at the creature or take several quick shots in succession. Seeing her allies enclosing around it and effectively cutting it off from easy escape, she opts to take the slower, but more reliable approach, and takes careful aim before once again pulling the trigger.
Round Two Actions
Standard Action: Attack with Azimuth Laser Rifle (18/20 charges remaining)
Attack, Combat Tracking: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Whelp, maybe I should have full attacked.

Nikon draws his laser pistol and watches over his team for any other dangers.

![]() |

funfreemy can't believe the creature hit him, oouch
He will attack twice for the round hoping he hits or even crits the creature hit: 5 - 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 - 2 + (17) = 20 dmg: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
hit: 5 - 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 - 2 + (20) = 23 vs KAc dmg: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
crit dmg: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

GM Berggen |

Having been struck by creature, Funfreemy finds his moment for a counter attack, striking true twice and spearing it through. The creature tumbles back into the pit, and the twitching motion of its feathery tendrils stops.
With the creature slain, the characters are able to leave the warehouse when they're ready.

![]() |

"I do hope that our other tasks are not quite so dangerous". Syas Morvruul, himself rather concerned that the Starfinders we're able to take out the threat so quickly. I must be careful, indeed, around this group, he silently laments.
"Now, I believe we have an album to purchase." he urges

![]() |

Jelly jogs over to the pit to inspect the creature. Wow, what a funny looking thing. Now that I'm a Starfinder, I should really hit the books-- er, the infosphere, and learn about all the beings I might run into out there.
Aloud, she comments, "Looks dead alright. Good job everyone!"
Jelly inspects Peanut Butter for any damage. Finding none, she will leave with the rest of the group when they are ready. "Anyone need a break before we head over to the music store?"

![]() |

Nikon takes a picture of the fallen beast to bring back to his faction for their records. Also searches the are around and in the pit for any valuable the creature may be hoarding. Then he quickly does a quick search on a public info sphere to find the location of the store
Everybody OK? Lets gather or wits and belongings and head out to procure this record.

![]() |

Okay, now that we destroyed that creature, can we go wait in line and buy Strawberry Machine CD? Also we should rest after that fight, well after we buy the album, unless people want their rest now.

GM Berggen |

The group makes their way out of the warehouse. As you come out, you see the Steward guards relax and Zigvigix standing there with their attena happily twitching.
You hear Zigvigix speaking to you telepathically. "Great job! Congratulations on a job well done."
The force barrier drops and crews start moving into the warehouse to clean up. You are able to proceed up to the Strawberry Machine Cake pop-up merchandising store. A line has already formed than snakes a few blocks away.
Standing in line is a long process. Word in the line is that the store won't open for another five hours. Standing in line like this is very tiring.
Fortitude saves: Gardam 7+2=9, Funfreemy 20 = auto pass, Jelly 14 +3 = 17, V10LET 13 + 2 = 15, Morvruul 7 - 1 = 6, Nikon 2 + 0 = 2. Gardam, Morvruul, and Nikon gain the Fatigued condition.
Hours later the line starts moving relatively quickly. When you get into the store you are able to purchase a the album for Historia-7 and may purchase an album for yourself for 50 credits. Purchasing the album will allow you to have it after this adventure.
As you try to leave the store, over excited fans keep jostling to get to the front of the line.
Reflex saves: Gardam 9 + 3 = 12, Funfreemy 5 + 0 = 5, Jelly 10 + 3 = 13, V10LET 20 = auto pass, Morvruul 15 + 4 = 19, Nikon 20 = auto pass. Funfreemy takes 3 points of bludgeoning damage from an overenthusiastic Vesk.
An overly enthusiastic Vesk crashes headlong into Funfreemy. "Ooof, sorry, didn't see you there bud."

![]() |

Are you OK Funfreemy? That was a large Vesk. Should we proceed to drop of the album or wait till tomorrow? I could use a rest as I am very tired from our adventure today. But will go along with what you guys would like to do.

![]() |

Jelly purchases an album.
At Nikon's question, Jelly responds, "I thought the faction leaders were expecting us today, since they would know when our Commencement date is. Maybe we should check with them to make sure their tasks aren't urgent."

![]() |

Morvruul purchases a copy of the album for himself. Once it is in his hands, he holds it greedily. Such drivel, and yet it is likely to worth a small fortune in the near future, he ponders quietly. "Shall we let the shirren know that we have successfully completed each of the assigned tasks? Then, I suppose, he will have us deliver the album to the android faction leader, making her the next assignment on our list?"

Gardam stands with his hands on his knees, clearly sore from standing. "If you get a picture of the vesk, I will assist you in finding the lizard and avenging you... tomorrow. Not today, I have... Um. A prior engagement."
Gardam also purchases an album, more out of a tired confusion over what is going on when they finally get to the front of the line.

GM Berggen |

It's late in the evening, so the party may take a rest overnight before proceeding.
In the morning you meet again at the Lorespire Complex, home and heart of the Starfinder Society.
A quick search of the directory indicates Historia-7 is currently in the Archives’ Cortex, a computerized matrix containing digital records of the Starfinder Society’s most prominent discoveries.
Travel to the Archives' Cortex is a short walk. When the doors open you see Historia-7 reclining on a raised chair and plugging into the local infosphere. When the android sees you, the neural cables detach themselves from her neck and she swivels in her seat to address you. "Greetings Starfinders," she says calmly. "I am Historia-7. If you are seeking a mission from me, please be aware that my request requires both discretion and speed. Do not accept it if you feel incapable of working within these parameters.
"I discovered that just last night, someone hacked into Bluerise Tower’s computer systems and stole a large amount of sensitive data from the resident corporations. I wish to be privy to this information. I managed to trace the hacker’s location through many proxies and erased the trail so that station and corporate security should be delayed in their pursuit. This deception will not fool them for long, so you must move quickly to retrieve the data before they can recover it. I will leave you to decide what to do with the hacker afterward, but should it be feasible, I believe that person would be an asset to the Society.”
You all immediately receive a digital communication from Historia-7 with the coordinates of the computer system that breached the Bluerise Tower's computer systems.

![]() |

Jelly is wearing hidden soldier armor, so would only gain a +1 on KAC from the basic iridishell armor we got from Ziggy. If it will have a bigger impact on other heavy armor wearers in the group, then they should take the armor instead.
Jelly is eager to make a good impression on Historia-7. "This sounds urgent. I'm ready to go when everyone else is!"

![]() |

Nikon is ready when you guys are. I can manage without an extended rest still. Are we prepared to do this task?
If we can keep this hacker alive it can help our reputation in the starfinder society. But not worth endangering any of my companions.

![]() |

"A shipment?" the witchwyrd notes in response to his communication with Ziggy, now clearly intrigued. Once Morvruul learns that the "shipment" contains primarily items he is not very proficient at using the "Merchant" scowls. Is the shirren simply not observant? he postulates. Or is he too observant?
Morvruul grows too concerned at this possibility, that he fails snatch up the credits before anyone else realizes they were even present.
Upon arriving at Archives Cortex, Morvruul is most interested.
Who do I have to kill to gain access to this vast store of information and power?
"Greetings Starfinders," she says calmly. "I am Historia-7...."
Excellent, thinks Morvruul. This could be my chance! Now, when she least expects it!
From beneath his cloak, where they have been concealed since before the meeting with Guidance, two gangly arms rapidly extend out from behind the witchwyrd's back, each reaching quickly for a weapon!
Then, suddenly, recalling how the other Starfinders in his presence had dispatched the featherstalker so quickly, the newly-revealed arms suddenly halt their course and appear to fold back into their hiding place.
A feigned smile forms out of the witchwyrd's covered mouth as he attempts to act as if nothing had just occurred at all. Listening further, to the android, Morvruul's covered mouth begins to water.
"Bluerise Towers?'" Morvruul repeats, genuinely intrigued.
"A 'large amount of sensitive data'?" he echoes, his excitement no longer contained. "I agree. The one who stole and now holds such information must be found and made to hand it over!"
"Let us go at once!" Morvruul declares.

GM Berggen |

The coordinates that Historia-7 provided lead you to a small drab concrete building with an equally drab porch. Three dozen tomato plants are on the porch in plastic barrels. A young human man is hand pollinating the tomatoes. As you approach he glances up at you, and with a mix of friendliness and uneasiness says "Good morning folks. Can I help you with anything?"

![]() |

"Yes, Hacker. We have heard of your exploits. Now give us the information you have taken from the Bluerise, or we will happily take it from you, possibly harming you in the process if you resist."
Gardam looks back at the other Starfinders. "This diplomassy you all speak so highly of..." He shrugs.

GM Berggen |

"H-H-H-Hacker? Oh no, I don't know what you're talking about strange alien." A mixed look of fear and resolve flickers over his face, before he flinches, "Please don't hurt me!"

GM Berggen |

As near as you can tell, he's actually scared of the weird toothy mandible three eyed creature from the vast who's threatening to harm him.

![]() |

Oh no, that poor kid is terrified. This is so awkward. I never know what to say in these situations. Maybe some of the others will know what to do. Jelly looks around hopefully at the rest of the party.
If someone tries to comfort or reassure the human, Jelly will try to aid by adding that we're Starfinders and showing her glowing implant.

I like the style of this one, Morvruul notes mentally. He would make an excellent henchman, even if he lacks some... subtlety.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
The witchwyrd glares at the boy, hoping he will confess.

![]() |

I better act quickly before this kid souls himself. But I must admit I like Gardams style of diplomacy.
Listen Kid you wont get hurt if you turn over the data you stole. In addition the starfinders may have a job for you as you have showed quite resourceful and skillful attaining it. But if you don't act soon my friend will have no problem removing your limbs. In fact between you and me I think he would prefer to do that instead of talk. So please give us the data quickly and I will talk him down and possible give him some raw meat.

GM Berggen |

The young man collapses on the porch, his voice becoming hysterical "Oh, jeez, um, are you guys mugging me? You can take a tomato plant, but I don't know nothing about no hackers!"
At this moment the door of the house opens and an older women in a blue and white abaya stands in the door way. "Jubair, what's this ruckus about?" She asks looking around.
"Memaw, we're being mugged, get back inside and lock the door."
She looks at your party and blinks a bit."Now Jubair, I don't think these are the mugger sorts. Far too unusual to be petty thugs. Why don't you folks come inside for a spot of tea and we can discuss whatever is on your mind?"

![]() |

Hmm this makes more sense. He seemed a little to soft even for a hacker
Excuse me "Memaw" I am Nikon and we are here on official Starfinder business. We are not sure if you or your grandson are involved. We would be delighted to come in as long as the boy stays near us. I am sure you will understand as we explain or task. Also yes tea sounds wonderful.

![]() |

...possible give him some raw meat.[/b]
Gardam spits at Nikon's suggestion. "No! Cook the meat - Gardam has no need of gutworm from some culinary arrogance."
At Memaw's invitation and Nikon's acceptance, Gardam looks at Jubair. "Come, soft farmboy - your Memaw has extended us hospitality, and it would be rude of me to have to chase you down if you flee."

GM Berggen |

The woman seems to perk up a bit. "Oh, Starfinders? Very fortunate for me to have a visit from such esteemed company. Come along now." She turns and heads inside.
The confused young man looks back and forth between you and her. "Memaw?" He heads in with you, Gardam is easily able to enter behind him to keep him in sight if he so wants to do so.
Inside you see a cluttered hallway leading to a small dining room. The woman pops a kettle on and turns to your group. "Sit, sit, make yourselves comfortable while the water heats up. I'm Ceren. I don't believe I know any of your names though. Now then, would you mind telling me what this is all about?"

![]() |

Taken a bit aback by the sudden appearance of "Memaw" and her apparent frailty, Morvruul agrees to see how this will play out. He quietly follows the woman into the dining room, trying to assess her and the place where she appears to live.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
"As my colleagues have stated, however inartfully, perhaps, we are here seeking sensitive information that has been stolen from corporate interests." Morvruul notes. "Our search for a hacker has led us here. We are interested in retrieving the stolen information before said interests arrive--as we fear that they would terminate any persons they located in their searches to retrieve it."
His words are honeyed, but contain a threat, so I not sure if you want a Diplomacy roll for that or an Intimidate?
[/ooc]Social Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 3
With a roll that low, it may not matter. That result is either a Diplomacy 12=(3)+9 or an Intimidate 9=(3)+6

![]() |

Oh good Morvruul is taking the lead on this. Good I am afraid my social skills are not up to par for this kind of work. In the meantime I would be better suited to keep my mouth shut and eyes open
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

GM Berggen |

"Oh, a hacker you say? Any idea what they did? You know, I used to be a bit of an expert myself back in the day..."
Jubair is staring at Ceren with a look of shocked disbelief.
Ceren gives Jubair a wink, "Really dear, there's a lot you don't know about my younger days"
