Blessing of Ashava:
Ashava’s blessing has granted a temporary form of lycanthropy that is fully under your control. This has no influence on your character’s alignment, personality, or motivations unless you would like to make this a transformative experience for your character. The blessing has the following effects.

You can change shape. You have three forms—your typical form, a wolf form, and a hybrid form. You can shift to any of your three forms as a move action. If this PC has earned the Celestial Lycanthropy boon from #10–05: Mysteries Under Moonlight, Part 1, you gain that boon’s benefits for free for this entire scenario.

HYBRID FORM
If you shift to your hybrid form, you gain the following benefits.
Senses: Your senses sharpen, granting you darkvision (60 feet), low-light vision, and scent.
Defenses: You gain DR 5/silver and a +2 bonus to natural armor.
Attacks: You gain a bite attack that deals 1d6 points of damage if you are Medium or 1d4 if you are Small. If the bite attack hits, you can attempt a combat maneuver check to trip your target as a free action.
Pack Leader: You can communicate and empathize with wolves. You can use Diplomacy to alter a wolf’s attitude, and you gain a +4 racial bonus on the check when doing so.

WOLF FORM
If you shift to your wolf form, you gain all of the benefits listed for the hybrid form as well as the following two effects.
Speed: Your base speed increases to 50 feet.
Wolf Shape: All of the gear that you are carrying or wearing melds into your body until you switch to another form. All items that give constant bonuses still give their bonuses, except armor, which does not function. Unless you have other feats or class features that would allow you to do so, you cannot speak, cast spells, or manipulate objects that would require the use of hands.

What is your fear-your real fear? The one you harbor at your very core.
The fear of failure. Because failing is worse than death, well, if we are in battle, sometimes the failure is death.
What happened that caused the fear? Or have you forgotten? The want and need to be a perfectionist.
When does your fear assault you? Does it haunt your dreams at night? Does it lurk in quiet moments? The greater my chances of failure the more it haunts me. My fear assaults me when my chances of failure are the greatest.

Which is honest.

"Spiders. They are completely without fear or remorse."

What happened that caused the fear? Or have you forgotten?
"When I was young, about 12, I was forced to take shelter from a sudden snow storm in a cave. There were a great many spiders the size of my hand and I spent hours fighting them off."

When does your fear assault you? Does it haunt your dreams at night? Does it lurk in quiet moments?
"They always linger when I am not otherwise mentally occupied, but flare-up in a violent fashion when I am aware of their actual presence."

All statements are truthful as far as Glorne is concerned.

My fear is quite specific. I am afraid of festrogs and how they have feasted on my people.

Twas in the frozen land of Nador Minnesota back in 4716 that the infamous and legendary Grippli-geddon took place. Further corroboration of the fable can be found here and here.

I did not experience it myself. It haunts me in my dreams. One might call it an irrational fear. Yet it is no less real simply because it is irrational, no?

I'll keep things going here and assume you were evasive if you didn't answer.

A hollow cackle erupts from the swirling fog. “Yes, that will do,” the voice purrs with a sense satisfaction. “Thank you for the scrumptious meal. Pleasant dreams, travelers.” The fog pulls back until you can see your teammates and nothing else. You are trapped in a circular space. The fog surrounding you begins to take shape of your greatest fears.

It’s a haunt! Positive energy will help dispel it.
Any dancers could use Perform(dance) checks to reproduce Luyire’s dance. He used this dance to help protect these woods in the name of Ashava.

Vornsk and Hopfrey:
Vornsk and Hopfrey can try a Diplomacy check as a standard action. They can also simply bite the haunt’s center to damage it (the black thing in the center of the field.) With the Blessing of Ashava, you know this instinctively.

Naturally I didn’t get a map for this, so I had to use one of my homemade slides on slide 1.

Vornsk, Hopfrey and Glorne have a chance to act before the fog fully manifests.

Okay, the pic of the haunt made me legit LOL. :-)

Hopfrey allows the blessing of Ashava, roiling beneath his calm surface, to emerge and he becomes a curious hybrid of wolf and frog, elegant and sleek. He then rushes up alongside the black thing in the center of the field, trying not to focus on the images the fog has conjured in the corners of his mind...

Vornsk tries to appeal to the mist, but it surges ahead, ignoring her calming words. Hopfrey prepares to bite the mist itself. The mist simply absorbs Glorne's cold blast and envelops the party.

Vornsk:
The mist pours onto the floor as your allies disappear from sight. The voice in the mist laughs as a creature escapes from the mist and pads around you. You hear a familiar growl as you see the tiger, just as it pounces.

Rilia:
You try to speak and join Vornsk's conversation, but the mist chuckles. Other voices join the mist and laugh, jeer and boo at you. Some call you an idiot. Some call you a whore. But all tell you to sit down and shut up. You see rotting vegetables tossed your way, but then you notice the knife, aimed right at your heart.

Jelly:
The mist smothers you, blinding your vision. When it clears, your allies are dead. Some were torn apart by the fairies. Others bear wounds from Theodorus's bow. Some bodies have looks of sheer terror as their souls were wrenched away. A malevolent voice cackles. "You will live forever as the last survivor. Pathfinders? Bah! You never stood a chance!" The lush forest you were is now a lifeless, barren plain. As you try to contemplate what happened, the land beneath you crumbles and you lose your balance. The pit is so deep you can't even see the bottom. You get a +2 bonus to your saving throws.

Glorne:
The mist envelops you, sticking to your arms and legs. When it clears, you find yourself bound to thick, sticky strands. You struggle to turn your neck and see your allies are wrapped in cocoons. You look up and see it- a giant spider, taller than a barn. Its mandibles click together right before it tries to pierce your heart... You get a +2 bonus to your saving throws.

Hopfrey:
As you stand ready to face the mist, you hear the croaks of other Grippli as they scream in pain. You turn to see some of them eaten alive as festrogs feed upon them. Also a nagaji struggles to escape but another horrible creature pounces. You try to run to help them, but something is holding your leg- another one is biting you. You recoil in pain, but 3 more ambush you. They hesitate long enough to bare their fangs and feed on you.You get a +2 bonus to your saving throws.

Make a DC 15 Will Save to pierce the mist's illusions. If you fail, make a DC 15 Fort Save as it touches you and wracks your body. Failure means you take 6d6 damage and are shaken for 1 hour.

Jelly stumbles a bit as he regains his balance, as if he was in freefall.
Glorne feels like he conjured a frosty blast at something to free himself.
Vornsk shoos something away like it was a pest.

Rilia and Hopfrey cower in fear and then realize there is nothing to fear, but fear itself. The mist clears, and your path forward is obvious. You hear a childish giggle as the mist recedes. It will return at some point, but not today.

Unless you plan to stay here for a day, the combat is over. Back to real maps!

Beyond the thick blanket of mist, a clearing rests near the bank of a gently flowing river. The ground is submerged in a layer of muddy water with pockets of foul-smelling gas burbling up from it. A white marble dais surrounded by broken pillars and statues of dancers sits to the north. At the center of the platform, a miasma of smoky faces and grasping hands roils around a flickering silver gemstone suspended inside a glass globe. Strange markings are scrawled across the steps in dried blood.

Several marble pillars have fallen into the mud, and the very ground lays cursed. This land used to be where Luvyire and his guardians would dance, but something else is here.

The mist on the Southern Edge of the map give concealment, just like obscuring mist. The light blue patches are bog, indicating difficult terrain.

With a hissing pop and flash of purple, a floating ball of light appears bobbing inside the ring of tormented spirits. The faint impression of a skull with eyes floats within, with eye sockets shaped like four-pointed stars.

The wisp giggles manically, in a lilting voice. “Welcome to my field of death, travelers. You must now accept the empty fate of eternity, for your time has come to an end. Are you prepared to embrace the void?” Tulvhatha finally reveals herself before you. Vornsk and Hopfrey see the golden trail follow her every movement.

Well, if we hadn't waste all our time rescuing stupid, fat, hen women I could use inspiration right now. Instead she asks the obvious.

Furious at their treatment by the wisp Rilia isn't really interested in a Q and A session, but there is one question that she's looking for an answer for.

"And if we don't?" she says drawing her sword from it's scabbard and the whip from around her waist.

Hopfrey will take a Move action to try and locate the direction of the foe using his hybrid form's scent ability. He does his best to indicate where Tulvatha is, then moves in that direction (up to 30 feet).

Since you took the blessing, you know exactly where Tulvhatha is. No need to spend an action detecting her. You still need to make the 50% concealment chance if you attack..

Vornsk watches the gold chord trailing Tulvatha and spends more of the mask's magic when the creature stops. A smoky circle glowing with a slight jade energy forms under the creature. "Aim here," she says of the circles center. The tiefling then moves to the other side of the creature again trying to draw his fire.

Can we tell if that is that a spell or some other ability? Also did we make the check against this creature? (Found it & failed it)
