Round 2
Drea misses again.
Kenji hits the creature, but his non-bludgeoning attack deals less damage.
Damage done: 14
Pending Ram before the Necrophidius
Ram Ironhand SS
|
Ram summons the might of Horus and brings his Khopesh down heavily upon the creature;
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 Power Attack + Studied target
damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Pirro Issa
|
"Let me see if I can assist with that," Pirro says to Drea, channeling the knowledge from ancient spirits into them.
Cast guidance on Drea.
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Round 2
Ram hits, but his Khopesh does less damage as well.
Pirro casts guidance.
Round 3
The Necrophidius bites at Ram:
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
A narrow miss!
Drea, Kenji, Pirro, and Ram can act; Penthesilea, Rogarch, Helping Hand, Zarisha Dazed for 1 more round
Kenji Haru
|
Again Kenji hits.
”Go! Down!!" he exclaims.
+1 Greatsword, power attack, flank, sneak : 2 + 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ 2 + (15) + 7 - 1 = 232d6 + 6 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 + 3 + (4) = 19
Drea Zelgath
|
Drea's grim visage lightens at the encouraging touch from Pirro.
"My thanks," they state, swinging with the adamantine flail.
Melee Attack, Adamantine: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 171d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Sigh.
Pirro Issa
|
Pirro takes the moment to ward Ram, as the construct seems to be intent on attacking the dwarf.
Cast resistance on Ram.
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Round 3
Kenji hits!
Drea swings, and the flail connects, by passing the creature's defenses and crushing the construct!
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Not sure which of these all you got before, but with the creature slain you can now examine the room fully
Woe to you who would plunder the Reliquary of the Thrice-Divided Soul. Turn away, lest the harsh judgment of the Forgotten One fall upon you and your descendants for a thousand generations. Turn away, for his ka cannot be appeased and it shall call forth legions of the dead and the damned. Turn away, and may the All-Seeing Eye and the Lady of Graves take pity on you, for if not, the Forgotten Pharaoh shall consume you, body and soul.[/i]
You notice some drops of blood on the floor- someone has been in this chamber.
You recognise the remains of a glyph of warding that was apparently triggered.
There is a dim magical aura starting from the corner with the effigy.
You can tell there was a very powerful necromantic object in this room previously, but it is now gone, though very recently.
Drea Zelgath
|
Drea nailed the Knowledge Arcana check earlier but hasn't had luck with any of the others.
"Whew," whistles Drea, gazing down on the scattered bones. "That could have been nasty. Still, it leaves a mystery as to the origin of the drops of blood - these creature's don't bleed."
Kenji Haru
|
Don’t have any of these skills. :-(
”Yes, let us follow the blood! Ehh ... there or ... no ... well is that blood there or is that my blood?! Oh I am quite confused... “ Kenji says scratching his head.
survival : 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9
Ram Ironhand SS
|
Ram grins in grim delight as the monstrous snake misses bounces off his shield; You will have to do better than that, foul spawn
Press the advantage, friends!
Penthesilea Aelyosan
|
Is the Knowledge (religion) new? Penthesilea missed the other checks already
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Ah, was this nested below Ancient Osiriani before? I'll assume Kenji translates.
"So this nastiness about the Forgotten Pharaoh is talking about his very real return, either by a Resurrection or something else where it's what we would call his Soul in the driver's seat. So uh... don't touch anything soul-shaped? I guess?"
Kenji Haru
|
Kenji looks at Panthelea with an astonished expression!
“This seems very plausible! Why did I not think of that!? You are really smart people!„
Rogarch
|
Rogarch snaps out of her stupor.
"Sleeping on the job again I see. Sorry about that. Is everyone alright?"
| Helping Hand |
Helping Hand is still sort of dancing on Rogarch's shoulder despite the weird charm effect being over. He stops suddenly and realizes his embarrassment with a flutter of his tiny claws.
Pirro Issa
|
Pirro reads the Osiriani inscription aloud. "Well, that is ominous," he says, adding, "I believe our competition has been here before us. There is a spent ward and something powerful must have rested near the effigy, but it is gone."
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
You backtrack to the next area you have yet to enter (D18)
A large, star-shaped fountain with a circular basin in the
center occupies most of this octagonal chamber, surrounded
by a ring of stones engraved with hieroglyphs. Roaring blue
flames rise from the basin to almost touch the ceiling. The
area is separated from the rest of the complex by a metal gate
just to the south.
The door is locked, but the keys you took from the Skeletal Champion work to open it.
You recognize a carved sandstone figure- the keystone from the elemental creature you'd faced earlier.
Will need Will Saves vs. Illusion and Perception checks here
Kenji Haru
|
Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
"It is always good to search for keys ... you never know what hidden wisdom they unlock!" Kenji says and again it sounds more like a memorized line than his own words.
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Kenji- you resist the illusion and can see that the blue flames are created by magic. you see a mosaic design on the bottom of the pool matching the one back in (Area D2).
Kenji Haru
|
“Oh look! An Illusion, right?“ he asks and details the mosaic that they saw before.
Drea Zelgath
|
Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
”Where do you see the mosaic, Kenji?” Drea asks while scrutinising the blue flames.

Rogarch

Rogarch attention is drawn to the flames. Helping Hand gives her a tap for good luck.

Helping Hand looks around.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 +1 more vs. incorporeal or haunts.
Pirro files in to examine the chamber.
"What should we do with the keystone?" he asks.
Kenji Haru
|
”Let us thoroughly search everything!“ Kenji says.
We habe time, right? So I would suggest to take 20 to search everything!
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Apologies- I flubbed that and misread- the perception check which I thought led to a passage out just leads to a hidden cupboard where the keystone was stashed.
You turn to approach the next chamber (D19) and as you come up you hear voices, appearing to cast spells- you realize someone is here, and they must have heard you in the previous chambers! You recognize one of the voices- Valeriana Hypaxes- the leader of the Scorched Hand group who had asked about this site several days ago!
Drea Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Penthesilea Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

11. Drea 7
Zarisha and Kenji can act (in bold)-- the door is locked; you know the key will unlock it, but I'm not sure we established who was holding the key.
| Zarisha al-Sakawi |
The row of circles are the door? A barred door, I take it?
Zarisha lurches through the door, leaving a silvery stain on both sides and moves down the hall and into the midst of the other delvers. "Whatever you hope to accomplish will be forgotten and turned to dust in the inevitable flow of time," Zarisha moans.
Intimidate (demoralize): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 vs. pink hat
Form: Incorporeal
Kenji Haru
|
”Can someone open the door please!?“ Kenji shouts.
Will delay until the door is open. As I am traveling here my actions already:
As soon as the door is open Kenji goes in.
I assume acrobatics to go through grease?
acrobatics : 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
He then strikes at the lady with the crossbow.
Greatsword, power attack, cover, 2H : 1d20 + 7 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 1 - 4 = 222d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 + 3 = 19

Round 1

11. Drea 7
Pending Penthesilea and Ram before the next enemy- sorry this one will be a bit slow due to the juggled initiative orders
Penthesilea Aelyosan
|
So is the door open?
Penthesilea steps back a moment, enchanting her bow while she cries out, "You know, there's a very real chance we would have let you pay market rate for whatever it is you're looking for! The real treasure is the glorious stories along the way, not the uh... treasure...
Gravity Bow
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
No- Kenji delayed until the door opens but anyone can use a move action to unlock and move action to open
Idorii, the fighter/rogue, readies an action to attack when someone enters his reach.
Turn Order:

Rogarch screams past the wizard and attacks the monster north of her with her Lucerne Hammer. Helping Hand taps her for luck.
This will provoke from the Wizard if she has a weapon in hand.

Round 1
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 Rogarch makes it through the Grease, but misses with her attack.
Swapped the Idorii and Khelru figures because I realize I moved Khelru on Idorii's turn with the prepared attack.]
Khelru steps back and casts Spiritual Weapon, which he directs to attack Rogarch.

11. Drea 7
Rogarch: 21/30
[ooc]Pirro and Drea are up!
Drea Zelgath
|
Drea smiles serenely and pulls a scroll from their belt as they see multiple spellcasters within the room. Drea utters a word of power, focusing the nidus of the scroll’s arcane energy well within the room.
Rogarch
|
@Drea - You will have to use UMD to activate the scroll but you might want to reconsider as it will take a full round of casting and will only activate right before your next turn due to the casting time of Silence. In order to cast it will require two UMD checks from your character as your character lacks the Wisdom to cast it as well. You will need two UMD checks, 27 and then 23 in order to cast the scroll.
Drea Zelgath
|
I completely forgot about UMD to use scrolls - I’ll look at this shortly and decide upon my turn. Thanks, Rogarch.
Drea Zelgath
|
Drea is going to take a chance!
Unsure of their abilities, Drea attempts to intone the spell.
UMD Check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
UMD Check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
AWWWWW YEAH! Of course, it's a full-round activity.
Drea's efforts seem to be proceeding well as they chant.
Of note, Drea's 20 foot movement speed severely hampers their ability to get into a martial place to be of use that's not already occupied or greased. That factored into my (very) risky decision. The spot on the map is where the spell will arise, though it's not there at present.
Pirro Issa
|
Pirro concentrates upon occult powers and channels the energy through Zarisha, thus arming the incorporeal phantom.
Cast touch of gracelessness, hold the charge. ...and no better position to move into.
| Oxnard Kettlebeak |
Round 1
Drea begins to cast silence from the scroll.
Pirro channels a spell into Zarisha.
Round 2
Aziz steps up and cast a spell at Rogarch:
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 4 = 17
Fire Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 1) = 15
The scorching ray hits!

2. Zarisha 18
3. Kenji 18
4. Velriana 15

6. Ram 11
7. Idorii 9
8. Rogarch 8
9. Khelru 8
. Pirro 8
11. Drea 7
That brings up Zarisha and Kenji before Velriana!
Rogarch: 6/30
