Cody looks around within the room as well and notices a partially burned missive in the fire pit ”What do we have here?”, but as he goes to retrieve it he handles it poorly ”Opps.”

While messing with the fire place he notices the hollow logs and pulls it out to find two potions wrapped in a note. Cody reads ”Shandon: Sometimes a fly can avoid a spider’s snares because he can fly. Be careful. Signed Dorvik”.

Cody checks the potions ”Wonder what these are?

Cautiously looking at the door propped open, Zaarah frowns. seems okay...but why would it just be propped open like that....? As she goes to touch it, Dusklord chimes in, pointing out a lever on the backside of the door!

The aid there was necessary!
I'm going to assume you activate the lever - if you feel otherwise - we can retcon it Zaarah

Reaching behind, the woman clicks the device and the door swings open the rest of the way, harmlessly.

Meanwhile, Starling takes a closer look at the spider mosaic. Some kind of runes are carved within the painting itself....

The runes translate to.... "Dusk Woven on the World Loom"

Through the door is a steep staircase leading downward...deeper into the spiders lair. Cautiously making your way down, you stop short of the landing...you see...

This large room is sumptuously carpeted with large rugs, several of which bear runic writing woven into their patterns with dull metallic thread. A steep staircase ascends to the east (The stairs you just came down), and a pair of imposing double doors looms to the west. Eight narrow passages extend from this room in several directions, each passageway soon turns to the left or right.

She studies the rug even more. "That's a lot of Aura's in there." She taps herself again, and shrugs. Dusklord would you like some Guidance?" She'll run around tapping everyone who asks with Guidance.

Zaarah:

Int: Ragarding 11 int, you are still above average intelligence. However the int reduction would affect spell DCs, spell level you can cast, and bonus spells from high int.

With 11 int, you can't cast spells over level 1 and DC would 10+spell level. Per RAW you can still speak your racial language and common.

Wis: 3...your ability to have rational thought would be diminished and your will save would be much lower. Base will save -4... Not to mention wisdom based skills would suffer.

Cha: Your ability to influence others with your forceful personality is decreased. Or your physical attractiveness could diminish. That is up to how youd like to RP it.

Yes the potions of levitate would work. Acrobatics to jump would work too. Climbing over the banister would get you down as well on the same side as the stairs. Burning them could be amusing but as stated, could draw some unwanted attention too.

Correct. You would have to use some other method to move forward, back, side to side. But would keep you from stepping on the carpet.

I heard this story one time about a fighter that got pushed across an abyss my a gnome. We could tie a rope on someone and push them across. If we miss we can pull them back and start over again." Fey starts digging in her bag for some rope. "It was hilarious until the fighter got a disease. That was bad. At leas the fighter thought so."

I like the out of the box thinking Cody and would allow you to do that. So for now, we'll bypass the traps on the carpet with the assumption that you do something along those lines

The traps are auto immediate resets

Quickly and quietly investigating each passage out of this large, trapped room, you find each ends in a flat stone wall with a mirror. Each mirror has a card on the top right corner with some kind of coded message. However, on the same card at the bottom of the coded message is written the mirrors location.

You quickly find yourselves in front of the double doors and discover they are locked.
