I am ok with calling the fight.
Kanlangkang delays
Chaosorbit

Fair enough Ansha -- I agree it's funny to see the poor little grey dwarves struggling...that said rounds of delay, delay, delay, starts to get old. How about the best of both worlds, I'll resolve rounds of confusion till the duergar are either dead or confusion/pit dissipate. If they are still alive we will, go from there.
We'll play speed Pathfinder

Suddenly, suddenly the fog clears and the pit disappears and one very bloodied and really pist duergar wearing bright orange pants, wipes his allies blood off his warhammer and stares in extreme hatred at you all.
So during the rounds the duergar are flailing around, Dornarnus will attack Menas Red each round grappled, unless pinned, hog tied whatever, so Menas do you go ahead and fully subdue him?
Then Ranalus and anyone else with Dispel Magic - do you attempt further castings on Dornarnus to free his mind?
So each of you have 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 -- 6 rounds of actions you can complete during the bloody pit fight. Go!
Menas Red

Menas sees how the fight is going and sees no sense in allowing himself to get hurt for no reason. Menas pins the dwarf to prevent any more injury to himself or the dwarf.

Ranalus

Ranalus doesn't have any more Dispel Magic spells.
Kalangkang or Enora could use Quick Study to get it.
What he does have, however, is Protection from Evil. He casts the spell and touches the dwarf.
Touch, Haste: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Kalangkang

Before casting magic missiles Kalankang takes out his spellbook and replace one spell with Dispel magic. After that he casts Dispel magic on Dornarnus.

As the duergar's battle on in the pit. Menas Red goes ahead and pins the fallen paladin. While, Kalangkang gets out his spell book, Ranalus casts protection from evil to aid Dornarnus resistance to the unnatural control.
DC 17 to Resist: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
But the dwarfs stubbornness come out and he fight off Ranalus' efforts.
Quickly studies the Dispel Magic spell and casts it. A far away stare, is replaced by a confused look and it appears the domination may have ended, but perhaps not Ansha confusion. Menas Red keeps hold for Dornarnus own safety, as the pit disappears. Kalangkang spots the last standing duergar and moments later four magic missiles drop the grey dwarf in his tracks.
Truly out of combat now, anyone else that wanted to do specific actions during the 6 rounds feel free to post them.
At almost the same time, a mongrelman scout rushes in with a report.
We route duergar! Dead or fleed, we have prisoners, will bring them here. Felgriss say get ready though Duergar leader and outriders sure to come soon!
Dornarnus also seems a changed dwarf, once the fog of confusion has subsided. He politely requests release from Menas Red's grasp.
I'm am free of the she-devil! Could you kindly release me?
He quickly tells you of the fate that befell him, When we were captured at Jormurdun, they drove us hard for days. Their leader, Thulmaga is as cruel as they come. She tried for many days to break my will, and I'm ashamed to admit she finally did. She took delight in it I can tell you. I tried to resist time and again, but to no avail, Torag finally abandon me and I can't blame him.
Thulmaga worships the duergar god, Droskar, who wants his followers to toil to attain perfection. These bunch of outcasts are trying to regain there honor and intended to drive us to the duergar capitol, Hagegraf, and then slaughter us there in front of Hagegraf ’s elite to prove their worthiness to rejoin the duergar society there. It's Torag's blessing he sent you to stop them.
The dwarf thinks a moment, Perhaps Torag did not abandon me after all!
The mongrelmen begin bringing forth the rest of the dwarven captives and start helping them remove there chains. It's clear the dwarves are in bad shape from the experience.
You have some minute (10) before the outriders will arrive what would you like to do in that time.
| Enora - Iconic character |
Enora is really happpy to see the prisoners escape.
"We are just glad that we had such fine support with the mongrelmen and the bulette! And now that you are free dear Dornarnus you can also tell us what we will fight against when the main army arrives. How many men?`What kind of magic? Anything that we can prepare for?" Enora asks.
Chaosorbit
|
Dornarnus answers Enora's inquiry Thulmaga is a cleric of Droskar, she takes pleasure in bending folks to her will. She'll have her Captain near by; and likely 3 lieutenants riding attacking beetles! Captain i'll try to not let you near Thulmaga and she'll be using her staff to cast any number of nasty spells.
Menas Red
|
Menas nods at the dwarf as he releases him, "Sometimes you can't ask a god to help with you everything, sometimes it comes down to your own power of will."
After hearing the report of the coming force, Menas has his target, "The cleric is mine, she won't be casting any more magic."
Ranalus
|
Ranalus gives the monk a glance. "There's no cause to mock the dwarf. Given enough time, even you would fall to such an enchantment, no matter your discipline and willpower."
Ansha Saeralyan PFS
|
"I am not immune to a pretty face and a honeyed word any more than the rest of you, which is why I intend to be the one turning on the charm first," Ansha says in response to Ranalus.
The elven enchantress flies down to join the others just as her invisibility fades. She fixes the fallen dwarven paladin with a winning smile, then turns her attention to Kalangkang and Menas. "Perhaps we could get Impy to scout for us again. I intend to spend the fight unseen again, but perhaps we should make sure you are unseen as well, Menas. It will make it that much quicker for you to get to that other woman vying for hearts and minds."
Ansha is suggesting Menas take a charge of the wand of greater invisibility as the outriders approach. She will of course be using a charge on herself again.
Ranalus
|
"I, however, am entirely immune to many such effects, though it isn't evident from looking at me. So I am happy to be visible to provide a target for Thulmaga and her staff."
Ranalus is immune to effects that are not capable of targeting fey - such as Charm Person, Hold Person, and Dominate Person.
Menas Red
|
Ranalus gives the monk a glance. "There's no cause to mock the dwarf. Given enough time, even you would fall to such an enchantment, no matter your discipline and willpower."
"My statement wasn't designed to mock, simply to advise. Train your body and your mind for when there is no help to be had."
Ranalus
|
Ranalus smirks. "It is through the power of a god that I can resist the Hold Person spell until the end of time. And the same is true for the greatest of paladins. Despite the... differences... in our patrons' viewpoints."
He finds it amusing to defend the paladin's life choices, but actually feels more kinship with the devotee of Torag than with the (apparent) Irori-follower.
By the way, Ranalus will end Feyskinned after one minute, then re-start it when Thulmaga and her crew are approaching.
Ansha Saeralyan PFS
|
Ansha scoffs softly at the idea someone could resist her.
We all have our hooks, the enchantress thinks.

Ansha scoffs softly at the idea someone could resist her.
We all have our hooks, the enchantress thinks.
Strictly in terms of her spells, she could get him with Charm Monster. His ability just means he isn't a 'person'. His Will save is quite good but not unbeatable.
Wembly Templeton
|
In the time remaining, Wembly will gather up any dropped items or coins from the dead duergar.
They will not be needing it I suppose. If there will be charms, then I think one of them protection circles are supposed to be handy. I mean you are all charming, but I don't want to end up like poor Dornarnus and all. I am rather fond of being Wembly and not some puppet of an evil deity. I mean not like a real puppet with strings. But...you know well, nevermind. But I will see what I can do to protect myself. I think I know just the thing...well, the person. Or hound-man.
He will dismount Whiskers.
I think I will have to send you away for a bit. But don't worry pal.
When the outriders are expected to be within a couple minutes away, he will summon a Hound Archon.
The hound will cast Message and Aid upon itself and Wembly (and anyone else willing).

Hey gang -- was waiting on a couple folks to say if they wanted to do anything.
Someone pitched the idea of Impy scouting again, same tunnel?
Pretty unlikely that I will be able to post tomorrow, just a heads up. Busy day. Take the day and develop your battle plan. Place your character where you want to be, etc.
| Enora - Iconic character |
”I believe that it is a very good idea to let impy scout ahead again so that we are prepared! This way we can also cast any spells that are of importance to us! I assume that one of you will cast haste so that I can cast fly on anybody that wants to be airborne!“

The mongrelmen assist the dwarf captives to assemble in the crumbling outpost and continue to help them remove there chains and otherwise tend to their wounds.
Impy goes down the tunnel to scout.

Wembly summons the archon as previously mentioned and stands next to it while it casts message and aid.

And a muscular and mean looking duergar escorting a Thulmaga, the leader. She wields a 4-foot-long iron staff with a heavy chain dangling from the end, ending in a manacle secured to Thulmaga's wrist.
The leader calls out as they enter Kill these interlopers, all of them! Even the captives!

Dornarnus charges at the beetle that just descended the stair (red), attacking with his warhammer. But the fallen paladin's hammer misses.
As invisible Ashna begins to cast a spell.
Menas Red moves with incredible speed toward the spike pit; as he does, beetle and rider try to take a parting shot. Both bite and warhammer connect. Undeterred Menas Red reaches the pit and begins to climb down, Thulmaga lies prone at the bottom. Menas Red climbs to with 10 feet of the duergar leader.
Menas speed 50 + haste 30 + ki 20 = 100 (double move 200); 80' across the room, then climb down at quarter speed, pit 40' deep = 160 move required. By my calc Menas Red would make it to 10' above the bottom, drop the rest of way as free?
Wembly goes invisible, as the hound archon continues the assault. With two sword blows it drops the beetle, dumping the blinded rider to the ground!
Oddly Thulmaga lies motionless at the bottom of the pit, as if already ready to surrender.

He accepted the healing and the haste spell, he is also dropping the last 10 feet intentionally.
Ranalus
|
"Blessings of the night."
Ranalus moves a bit and casts Prayer. This will catch everybody except for Menas, Thulmaga, and the captain.
+1 to attacks, damage, saves, skills, and ability checks (+2 if you have Fate's Favored); -1 to all enemies.
I would do Blessing of Fervor but we are too spread out for that.
Also, forgot to correct the map that Ranalus is no longer flying. Removed the text box.

GM did you calculate damage to the beetle correctly, or is he immune to fire?

@Menas Red - Oh yeah you would have had to accept the haste to move that far...lol
So Menas took 31 from the AOOs, and is at the bottom of the pit next to prone Thulmaga.
@Kalngkang -- bad mad! Not immune to fire, just added wrong. Beetle dead.
