Previously on Dirge of the Crimson Crow...
Zaliex, the semi-liberated Phoenix perches on the bridge across the chasm, the defeated sorceress Geppa dejectedly resting on the floor nearby.
"I shall watch over the sorceress while your proceed forward," its voice fills the chamber in a not unpleasant way. "If there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know."
Available Phoenix abilities:
At will — continual flame, cure critical wounds, greater dispel magic, remove curse, wall of fire
1 of the following — fire storm (DC 24), greater restoration, heal, mass cure critical wounds, quickened wall of fire
Ahead, a thin, winding passage leads up a steep incline from the massive cavern...

“Thank you again, Zaliex!”
Looking to Geppa, he says “I hope that in the future you will consider parlay when it is requested. We really were looking for information rather than revenge.”
Omar waits for the others, then moves forward along the path.

"Honestly, they didn't look like they really wanted to talk. Xallis says, before rolling his eyes. "Fanatics and madmen, if you ask me. Look at what they did to that poor Pheonix. And our lodge."
The conjurer shrugs. "If they make an honest attempt to talk? I'm willing to play along. But I'll be honest, here. I'm a little tired of dealing with their nonsense. If I see an opportunity, I will take the initiative and I will throw dinosaurs at them."
With that, Xallis takes a relatively safe position in the rear of the group, ready to move on.

Gale gathers up his equipment, strapping the red knight's magic longsword to his belt. He grunts when he sees that one of his banners is still smoldering and he quickly stomps out the flame.
"Its beautiful you see wanna see the best in people, Omar, but I agree with the demon summoner. So far, these Red Ravens haven't shown us they are interested in anything but treachery and murder. Maybe we've killed enough of them to get them to change their minds, but I'm thinking we're going to need to thin them out a bit more before they see reason."

As Amethyst strides by the sorceress, she turns towards her and snaps her huge, thick teeth at her. Her rider gives a gentle tug at her bridle and whispers into Ametheyst's ear and she lifts up her head and continues walking by her.

Looking unhappy, Omar says “I am sorry, but it is against Shelyn’s teachings to strike first. I will not interfere if you choose to do so, but it is not my way.”
He then recites a mantra as he holds forth his holy symbol.
“I am peaceful.
I come first with a rose rather than a weapon, and act to prevent conflict before it blossoms.
I never strike first, unless it is the only way to protect the innocent.”
With a sigh, he admits “It does seem that they are unwilling to listen, but still I feel that I must give them the chance.”

Gale flicks the sword in mountain symbol he wears around his neck with his mailed thumb. "I am not someone well equipped for theological debates, but I think we might be walking Gorum's path right now." Gale lowers the visor of his helmet and raises his lance, swirling the tattered banner above his head. "Is everyone ready for to meet this Crimson Raven?"

As Amethyst strides by the sorceress, she turns towards her and snaps her huge, thick teeth at her. Her rider gives a gentle tug at her bridle and whispers into Ametheyst's ear and she lifts up her head and continues walking by her.
Zahra laughs. "Amethyst, you have better manners than that. How long have you been travelling with me?"
Then she turns to the others. "How about ve buff and prepare for battle, but give them a chance to surrender. If they do not take it, then ve respond as they do. Does this sound like a fair compromise?"

Gale laughs and strokes Amethyst's mane. "If she is misbehaving, I think Pumpkin is to blame. He's a bad influence on her. Ever since they've been stabling together, Amethyst won't eat nothing but raw meat and she's gotten in a bad habit of biting wizards who make sudden movements," he says, looking down at the captive sorceress.
"I'm ready to move whenever we all are. Thaddeus, do you have any suggestions on how we should prepare to meet the Crimson Raven?"

“Oddly enough, I’ve never found that killing people makes the survivors like me more, and no one I’ve killed has ever bought me a drink afterwards. Death just seems so...final.”
‘Anyway, let’s move on. I feel very strange all of a sudden, like I’m not quite formatted properly, but that’s no reason to delay any further.’
