Wyran of the Sacred Lantern
|
Wyran, taking the lead, moves to the foot of the bridge. "Watch your step, Pathfinders."
He peers through the smoke toward the other side of the chasm, hoping for a glimpse of what is beyond.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

Ranalus also moves up, using Stealth (taking 10 for a 25) and looks and listens across the chasm.
Perception: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (1) + 25 = 26
Chaosorbit

Wyran and Ranalus peer across the the bridge and chasm as several figures come into view, 3 humanoids with heads afire, the one in front calls out..
I see you over there, turn yourselves right around and exit the chamber. Go back to the outside world, as this territory falls under the City of Brass’s jurisdiction. Leave now or I'll have to make you leave.
Ranalus
|
Ranalus slinks away and then casts Resist Energy (Fire) on himself. 90 minutes, 20 points fire resistance.
Wembly Templeton
|
Wembly looks on with amazement at the hot fissure and warning from the creature.
”I don’t think we can turn back now, right? “
He casts fly on himself.
| Enora - Iconic character |
Enora also casts 'fly' on herself.
Then she casts 'false life'.
False life temp. HP, 7 hours duration: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
After that she casts 'mirror image' and uses her rod of extend to extend the duration.
Mirror image, number, 14 minute duration: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Then she uses her wand of mage armor on herself.
"So who wants to be enlarged or who wants to be able to fly? Say so and I will cast the spell!" Enora says to you all.
Kalangkang

"We do not intend to harm you, we just want to pass."

I would assume hours per spells would already be up; less than that you would be casting now.
Ranalus (sneakily), Wembly, and Enora begin buffing themselves, as Kalangkang begins a parlay with the fiery creatures. It appears there leader is unfazed by the arcanist's pacifistic intentions.
She casts a spell on herself and then adds You see that may be true. But I see you casting your spells back there. Your wee folk. Like I said this place belongs to the City of Brass and none of you look like an efretti or azer. So I'm thinking that means you need to leave!
She begins to cast another spell.
Wembly Templeton
|
did not realize wembly had line of sight to them
”Does the City of Brass not accept visitors? What about trade? Are you totally like self sufficient? We seek information and may have information valuable to you. We are not casting spells to offend. Certainly us wee folk are no threat to the mighty Azer of this awesome city“
He flies up and closer 20’...staying over land atm.

Ansha Saeralyan PFS
|
Ansha resists the urge to facepalm. Calling out to the flameheaded leader, she says, "We are hardly foes, but we do have a purpose for being here. Perhaps we can work something out for our safe passage. Surely we don't have to come to blows over something inconsequential. I mean, as my companion said, surely you could benefit from interacting with us in regards to trade,
no? Maybe we have something you need to know! But you'd never know with such a negative attitude. So why don't just take a step back so we can all get along?"
As she talks, she gesticulates with her hands- hiding a spell's incantation behind her words. Confusion, CL7, DC21. Centered on the flame-headed lady in the lead.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40
Bluff: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (18) + 25 = 43
Sleight of hand: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
They have to beat her Bluff AND Sleight of Hand rolls to notice that she cast a spell. Also, her Subtle Enchantments feat means that if they succeed on their Will save, they have a 50% chance to not notice they've made a successful save against Ansha's spell.
Wyran of the Sacred Lantern
|
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35
Wyran doesn't notice Ansha's subtle incantations, but does recognize the tension in the air. He spends a ki point to cast barkskin on himself.
To Enora he says, "You cannot enlarge me, but I would appreciate a charge from your wand."
| Enora - Iconic character |
Enora used her wand of Mage Armor on Wyran.

At Wembly words the azer woman replies, Information, what information?
As the buffing continues, Ansha speaks her oh so silky words. And just as both she and Kalankang are ready to cast there offensive spells, the Azer woman suddenly gives a surprising reply.
Okay yeah, work something out for your safe passage, that sounds good to me. Your right we don't really need to fight. What will you offer?
The azer seems willing to let you pass.
Decision time, do you want to initiate combat or continue to parlay?
| Enora - Iconic character |
Parlay! No more spell casting. You decide where we were with our casting.
Wembly Templeton
|
Well, we cannot exactly give you the information yet...not without you either letting us pass or telling us something you can offer in return? Information cannot be taken back once shared. Wembly replies.
Chaosorbit
|
The azer replies to Wembly, Oh I can do both, I know a thing that will help you. But I don't know what you could tell me that will help us out, perhaps you can give us something instead.
Kalangkang
|
"What would you want from us in return? Do you have any special wish?"
Ansha Saeralyan PFS
|
I'm conflicted here, because Diplomacy takes a full minute, and my casting only takes one round. That, and I think for as much as Ansha prefers to talk, she wouldn't stop her casting once she'd started, especially with anything mind-manipulating.
