You may dot in here. This game starts immediately(ish) after your battle with the witch. Make whatever purchases you need to, and we will say you bought them before you departed Bloodcove.

| Templates | Master of the Fallen Fortress | | Knowledge questions |

After your encounter with the witch, you caught up to the caravan leader, Raimondo, and his team of drivers. He points over to a gnome {Lini}, "I found this one just as I was leaving town. Thought it was best to bring her along. She is one of you, a Pathfinder, right? Well, Sorry if she ain't. Not like I had a lot of choice. The jungle here is starting to fill up with troops outta Bloodcove. Consortium boys if I don't miss my guess. I'm thinking they figured out who you are and are tryin' to catch up to us. We have to get a move on." Keen ears confirm the caravan leader's words. Hooves pound toward you in pursuit.

You are several days northwest of Bloodcove—days of dusty, dirty running and riding as your caravan guide, the scoundrel Raimondo Scevola, whipped his horses and wagon-drivers to go faster, faster! Closing in behind you, no more than an hour by horse now, ride dozens of Aspis mercenaries. Your activities
in Bloodcove, it seems, were not as secret as you hoped.

A sudden cry goes up among the wagons, and all eyes look back the way you came. The days-old familiar sight of pursuing horseman has vanished. “They’ve given up the chase!” Raimondo declares and a tired cheer erupts from his caravan.

"These horses are about spent. Now that them Aspis snakes have given up, I need to rest my girls."

Please place yourselves anywhere in the pink box on the Azlant Ridge map.

Eyeing the gnome, Kaya gives her a once over. "You ain't an Aspis spy, are you?"

Catching sight of her beautiful snow leopard she immediately forgets her line of inquiry and runs over to reach out to touch the fluffy beast. "Oh my gosh he er... she? has such beautiful fur! So pretty, just a gorgeous mottling of white and black and it looks so soft! May I pet her er... him?"

_____________________________________________________________

After traveling foreeeeeever, Kaya yawns pretty big and climbs down out of the cart. "You wouldn't have a clue how hard it is to prepare spells in a bouncing cart like that! I mean, I have to make notes with an ink pen and that takes all sorts of careful manipulation!"

(Have we had an opportunity to refresh spells and abilities during our several days of riding?)

Eyeing the dwarf's dirty hand with more curiosity than disgust, she slowly offers her own. "I am Lini and this is Droogami." She rubs her other hand on the fur between her snow leopard's ears. Glancing at the halfling, she says, "I am not a spy. You may try to pet her if you would like. Droo, it is okay. She is a friend." Under her breath, she mutters something that sounds a lot like "I hope".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

At the stopping of the cart, Lini awakens. She was sleeping curled into Droogami on their trip. She yawns loudly, stretches, and stands. They both follow Kaya out of the cart. "It has been a long journey. I am glad to stretch my legs out a bit. I know Droo is as well." The leopard walks in a circle around the group. It is obvious she is attempting to loosen her stiff muscles.

Ren smiles at the newcomers, sticking out his hand in greeting.

"Welcome to our group, the both of you." he says indicating Droogami as much as Lini.

"We have followed a most difficult path thus far on our journey and there is no reason to think it will be any less challenging on the road ahead." he pauses to be sure he is heard before continuing.

"We are glad the society sent someone as brave as you as this is not for the faint of heart."

Seeing the newcomers are undaunted, the priest smiles widely before clapping his hands loudly.

"Wonderful! Then it's time we pressed on. We have an appointment to keep."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

When the cart stops, and the others wake up and stretch, they find the priest already awake and alert.

He offers a reply to the asked question of how much more to go.

"It must be close now..."

Then turning to Raimondo, he confirms, "We are close, aren't we?"

Ren will be carrying his wand of bless in his buckler hand, just as a standard operating procedure. Would it be reasonable to tie a string to the wand and his wrist so he can drop it without it hitting the ground? I know it's core, but that seems reasonable to enough to me. Thought I would ask the group. Since I couldn't find string, or even twine, I will buy one yard of canvas and cut it to fit the use.

Kaya thinks for a moment about Ahmande's concern and then her thoughts bubble to the surface. "A few options come to mind. They could have run into some trouble and had to stop to deal with it. They could have been called back, I mean the Aspis run things based on a return of value. Maybe they just ran up against whatever budget they had allotted for this mission. Or they could have changed tactics and are trying to sneak up on us. Considering it's unlikely the second option is true, I expect there is trouble out there that can cause them concern or they are setting up an ambush. Either way, we need extra watches as we rest."

Actions:

Surprise Round
5' step
Standard: cast grease underneath blue Aspis (Reflex DC 15)

Grease wrote:

A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

Blast Rune (Sp): As a standard action, you can create a blast rune in any adjacent square. Any creature entering this square takes 1d6 points of damage + 1 point for every two cleric levels you possess. This rune deals either acid, cold, electricity, or fire damage, decided when you create the rune. The rune is invisible and lasts a number of rounds equal to your cleric level or until discharged. You cannot create a blast rune in a square occupied by another creature. This rune counts as a 1st-level spell for the purposes of dispelling. It can be discovered with a DC 26 Perception skill check and disarmed with a DC 26 Disable Device skill check. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Years of riding people down in combat has spoiled Calgredine. The captain seems surprised anyone would charge him directly. To that end, his strike at the reptile is off the mark. His horse buckles and collapses beneath him. He tosses aside his lance as he lands on his feet. Yards away, an arrow shatters off the dwarf's armor, but the other slides through his defenses.

The mercenary in the red cape slumps to the ground with an arrow in his back and claw marks on his face, his horse disappearing into the bush. Vines and roots once again respond to the druid's call as they twist and twirl around yet another guard. Croaki flails with tooth and claw, but the Captain's defenses hold up. Steel whirling to match the beast's ferocity. But, the raptor is not alone. As their opponent focuses on keeping the animal at bay, Sarathor takes advantage. The elf swings his enchanted staff, the powerful magic easily bypassing the protection offered by the elegant armor. While continuing his encouraging words, the bard plants an arrow deep into the chest of one of the bowmen to the south.

Speaking of those men, vines continue to hamper their efforts. One of the horses breaks free as the rider fires an arrow at Ahmandé, striking the elf in the shoulder. The other does not fair as well, missing Durvak.
