Assuming we can use Knowledge Checks as a Free Action? I'll make combat posts soon...
Knowledge Nature
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
EDIT: Success!
"The storm is a dark ritual and the lizard creatures are summoning it! Come, we must end this!" he calls out and then charges...
Seeing the sheriff as their prisoner Thorongil wastes no time and draws steel and Charges the enemy with power attack -
Attack with Power Attack and Charge
1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 24
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 2 = 8
EDIT: Well, well :)
Roll to Confirm...
1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 26
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6
EDIT: GM - can I try to confirm again ;)
Well, probably not as I don't think that's technically legal, but I'm willing to bet they hit! GM - I believe that did me 14 Damage on the lizard guard, but I'll wait to hear more from you :)
Here's hoping someone moves to prevent Thorongil from being flanked as the Charge lowered my AC next turn...

Knowledge Nature DC 15: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Knowledge Local DC 11: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Knowledge Nature DC 11: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Letswalo does not see the scales clearly at first, and then a stray flash illuminates the lizardfolk. He does his best to use what surprise there might be, and charges at the nearest one, blade first!
Charge!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Sneak Attack Damage if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 6
GM Ariarh of the Storm
In his efforts to charge and attack the nearest lizardfolk, Letswalo's blade goes wide and strikes the wooden facade of the nearest building; leaving the enemy unscathed.
Drawing her masterwork scimitar and rushing forward, Nooria heeds Thorongil's instruction and attacks the lizardfolk closest to her.
Attack Lizardfolk #2 with Favoured Enemy bonus: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Injuring it neatly for 7 pts of damage.
Muhdzuzi moves forward to stand behind Thorongil and attacks the ebnemy creature by the barricade with his loaded sling.
Sling Attack on lizardfolk #4: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Damage, if hits: 1d3 ⇒ 2
but the increased winds makes it hard to guage and the enemy is left unscathed.
End of PCs actions this Round 1. I'll post the enemy's Round 1 actions in my next post.
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 1: Lizardfolk attack!
The lizardfolk warrior by the barricade moves 15ft down toward Nooria and attacks her with his morningstar,
Attack on Nooria: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage, if hits: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Hitting her squarely in the shoulder, injuring Nooria for 3 pts of damage.
===
The lizardfolk atop the barricade takes a side 5ft step and begins to utter quiet words in the strange tongue and captures lightning in its hand and arcs it to hit in in a straight line from Thorongil to Muhdzuzi.
Electricity Damage on Thorongil and Muhdzuzi: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Thorongil and Muhdzuzi both take 5 pts of damage (2 if they make their reflex save).
Reflex Save DC 15 for half damage.
===
The lizardfolk before Letswalo swings its morningstar and attacks him.
Attack on Letswalo: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage, if hits: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Alas, the aim is wide and he misses Letswalo.
===
Muhdzuzi's Reflex Save (DC 15): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 (Fails)
End of Round 1. Nooria injured for 3 pts of damage, Muhdzuzi is injured for 5 pts and Thorngil for 5 pts (or 2 pts if the Northman makes his reflex save.) Please note: The barricade is 10ft high.
===
Top of Round 2: PCs are up! Thorongil please roll your reflex save (DC 15) first to determine your injuries for round 1. Thanks!
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 2: Muhdzuzi & Nooria
Muhdzuzi loaded a new bullet into his sling and attacked the wounded enemy before Nooria.
Sling Attack on Lizardfolk #4: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage, if hits: 1d3 ⇒ 2
However, the bullet missed its target, carried askew by the wind.
Nooria attacked the wounded Lizardfolk warrior in front of her.
M/W Scimitar attack with favoured enemy bonus: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 = 17
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
and her scimitar slices the lizardfolk warrior's chest and he drops to the wet ground, dead.
===
Round 2: Thorongil and Letswalo are up!
Thorongil of the House Stígr
Thorongil will do what he can to avoid the strike of lightning -
Reflex Save
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
At this point he has a critical decision to make...
GM; don't know the DC of the barricade - that is; is it considered rough like "Ship's Rigging" (being that it's a quickly constructed barricade I assume it is) but it's also wet - so I'm guessing a DC of 15? If so, that means he may try to chance it; but if it really looks smooth, he'll simply try to attack the creature on the ground by Letswalo with his sword... This is based on how smooth things are, though...
So if it looks like a rough, easily climbed barricade (albeit wet) he'll dash forward to F:11 and try to climb
Climb Check -
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
IF it looks too smooth to climb he'll move to G:10 to flank with Letswalo and try stab at the creature with Flanking and hope Letswalo can shoot the caster to interrupt her next spell?
Attack if the wall is too smooth via Power Attack...
1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 = 26
IF it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
EDIT:
Reflex Save Successful! That said, I'm not sure if I'll end up climbing or stabbing, but if I have to stab I guess that might confirm?
1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 14
IF it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5
EDIT: If I go the sword attack instead of climbing I think that will end the enemy there - but my main goal is really to try to interrupt the caster so I would try climbing if it doesn't look too slippery.
Let me know what's up GM - meanwhile, borrowing a page from Jurassic Park...
Seeing the Caster he calls out - "Shoot her! Shoooot herrr..."
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Using cunning and stealth, Thorongil makes his way to the base of the barricade and ascends, taking advantage of the sharp corners and recesses of the upturned wooden carts and timber as handholds and footholds. He reaches the top without issue even in the heavy rain.
Letswalo engages the lizardfolk before him and the rain whips into his eyes and the strike does not hit.
End of PCs turn this round. Next post will be Round 2 actions of the enemy.
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 2: Lizardfolk.
The Lizardfolk warrior lashes out with morningstar at Letswalo.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Damage, if hits: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
But in its eagerness and with the hard rain, the enemy misses its target.
====
The Lizardfolk notes the presence of the human on the barricade and begins casting defensively in order to protect herself. She takes a 5ft step back and then from her fingertips unleashes another lightning arc straight at Thorongil.
Casting Defensively: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 (Successful)
Electricity Damage to Thorongil: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
You were 15/19 HP before this attack, Thorongil. Depending on how you do with your reflex save, you'll either be at 11/19 or 13/19 HP.
Reflex Save (DC 15) for half damage: 2.
====
Top of Round 3 and the PCs are up! Thorongil please roll your reflex save before you take any action. Thanks!
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 3: Muhdzuzi and Nooria
The Halfling takes a 5ft step and loads a new bullet into his sling and shoots it at the lizardfolk warrior.
Sling Attack on Lizardfolk warrior #2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage, if hits: 1d3 ⇒ 1
But the bullet misses the enemy.
===
Not caring if she incurs an attack of opportunity from the lizardfolk, Nooria swiftly moves up to flank with Letswalo.
Nooria's Attack with M/W Scimitar on Lizardfolk #2 with favoured enemy bonus plus flanking: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 19
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
and she successfully hits! (The creature suffers 8pts of damage.)
It takes its attack of opportunity on her,
AoO on Nooria: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4, however fails to hit her.
===
Round 3: Thorongil & Letswalo are up!
Thorongil of the House Stígr
Thorongil climbs and tries to allude the Lightning...
Reflex Save -
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
He then lifts his blade and moves to strike at the caster...
Attack on Caster with Power Attack -
1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 1 = 19
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5
EDIT: So I made the DC Save, but I don't know if I hit - anyway, my current HP is now 13 so if I could get some help on this thing, that would be great...
Realizing that Letswalo is no good with the sword but Nooria is, he calls out to the man -
Free Action -
"Use your bow, man! You are no good with steel!" hoping for aid against the vile creature on the barricade.
Letswalo, I don't remember if you have a bow, but I know you have a disadvantage to your melee attack. Do you have any ranged stuff to help me? You may be able to do more damage with range then your sword and Nooria seems to be doing very well with the guards. I have a feeling this is some sort of boss and I'm kind of nervous with only 13 HP - either way, may the dice bot favor you :)
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Nooria moved to flank with you on her turn, Letswalo, so you get the +2 for flanking. With that, you manage to hit the creature.
Letswalo's aim is true this time and with one strike manages to finish off the Lizardfolk warrior.
It is dead.
I'll post the Lizardfolk's action in my next post for Round 3.
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 3: Lizardfolk
Seeing her personal guard cut down below, the Lizardfolk caster attacks the large, threatening Human beside her,
Bite Attack on Thorongil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Claw Attack 1 on Thorongil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Claw Attack 2 on Thorongil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 (Hit)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Confirm second claw attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 (Confirmed)
Additional damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Her second claw attack manages to score him deeply. She then takes a 5ft step back from him.
Thorongil takes 8 pts of damage from the second claw attack, which confirmed. He's now at 5/19 HP.
End of Round 3.
===
Top of Round 4 and the PCs are up!
Letswalo
Letswalo begins to sprint, aiming to leap up, and then keep moving - until he can drive bloody blade into the lizardfolk caster!
Acrobatics to ascend and tumble swiftly: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Charge!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Thorongil of the House Stígr
Not sure where Letswalo is, but I'm going to step forward and attack the creature, if possible...
Attack with Power Attack
1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 1 = 24
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
EDIT: Well damn...
Confirm -
1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 1 = 15
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
EDIT: not close enough, it seems...
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Letswalo, the barricade is ten feet high and I'm assuming you're attempting to make a running start and jump up onto it? Remember the heavy rain is also a disadvantage, so an acro check of 10 won't make it up. That being the case, I'm allowing your next roll of 14 to go toward a reflex save to stop him from falling (DC 20). Your reflex save is therefore 14+5=19 and since the DC is 20, you do not make the jump, but you don't fall prone either. Your footing becomes tangled and you just don't make any progress up the barricade at this stage. I moved your icon to the base of the barricade, not quite west as you wanted as the buildings to the west are an impediment as well as the body of Sheriff Adaela which currently lies in that square.
Thorongil, your attack hits, but doesn't confirm, unfortunately.
Thorongil, severely wounded as he was, swung again at the Lizardfolk caster with a fierce, ferocious determination and managed to wound her; but not as deeply as he would have liked.
7 pts damage to the caster.
End of PCs turn in Round 4. I'll post the enemy's action in Round 4 in my next post.
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 4: Lizardfolk caster
The Lizardfolk takes a 5ft step back away from the large human and from her hand crackles electricity. She shoots a lighning arc in the direction of Nooria and Muhdzuzi.
Electricity Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Nooria's Reflex save (DC 15): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 (Fails)
Muhdzuzi's Reflex save (DC 15): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 (Succeeds)
Nooria takes 3 pts of damage and Muhdzuzi only 1 pt of damage.
(End of Round 4.)

Round 5: Nooria & Muhdzuzi
A fire dolt appears in Nooria's hand and she hurls it toward the enemy.
Nooria's Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 6
And hits her for 6 damage. (1 fire bolt from 6 used.)
==
Muhdzuzi, taking a 5ft step sideways, loads a new bullet into his sling and fires it at the enemy,
Muhdzuzi's Sling Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage, if hits: 1d3 ⇒ 1
but the wind throws it off course and it doesn't hit the caster.
Round 5: Thorongil and Letswalo are up.
Thorongil of the House Stígr
Thorongil, seeing his ally has scaled the wall, elects to move to flank with him...
Using my second to last Archelogist Luck Bonus to try to move around her; then Flank Bonus with Letswalo and Power Attack...
Acrobatics Check to move to E:8 to avoid AoO
1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 1 = 21
Attack with Power Attack on Enemy -
1d20 + 5 + 1 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 1 - 1 + 2 = 20
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 10
EDIT: Here's hoping that was successful!
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 5: Enemy
Seeing the new threat beside her, the Lizardfolk caster attacks Letswalo.
Bite Attack on Letswalo: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Claw Attack 1 on Letswalo: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 (Hit}
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Claw Attack 2 on Letswalo: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Then takes a 5ft step diagonally to the edge of the barricade.
Letswalo takes 5 pts damage from the first claw attack. He's currently at 8/13 HP.
End of Round 5.

Top of Round 6: PCs are up!
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Round 6: Muhdzuzi & Nooria
The Halfling moves to climb the barricade to aid his allies,
Muhdzuzi's Climb 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Muhdzuzi's Climb 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
and makes it to the top to stand beside Letswalo.
From her position, and seeing the enemy at the back corner of the barricade thanks to her darkvision and the lightning illuminating the wet skies, Nooria shoots another fire bolt at the Lizardfolk caster.
Nooria's Ranged Touch Attack with Fire Bolt: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage, if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 6
and hits the caster for 6 pts of damage.
The enemy caster appears to be quite severely injured at this point.
Round 6: Thorongil & Letswalo are up!
Letswalo
Even with lizard claws tearing his flesh, Letswalo can still sense that victory is near. He charges at the caster, also aiming to finish it swiftly.
Charge with mwk rapier: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Thorongil of the House Stígr
Thorongil, seeing the results of his attack as well as Letswalo's, elects to use a free action...
Free Action seen - here -...
Probably wouldn't really do it, but damn we were so close...
GM Ariarh of the Storm
A determined Letswalo attempts to finish off the remaining Lizardfolk; yet cannot get passed her cunning defences.
===
Round 6: Enemy
1. Thorongil
2. Letswalo
1d2 ⇒ 1
Bite Attack on Thorongil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Claw Attack 1 on Thorongil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 (Miss)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Claw Attack 2 on Thorongil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 (Succeeds)
Damage, if hits: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
and the great warrior takes 3 pts of damage. Thorongil is now on 2/19 HP.
End of Round 6.

Top of Round 7 and PCs are up!

Round 7: Muhdzuzi & Nooria
The Halfling moves forward 10 ft and loads a new bullet into his sling and shoots at the Lizardfolk.
Sling Attack on enemy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage, if hits: 1d3 ⇒ 2
and once again misses. The rain and wind have plagued the Halfling's every attempt to wound the enemy.
===
Nooria calls upon her goddess' might and shoots another fire bolt at the enemy,
Nooria's Ranged Touch Attack with Fire Bolt: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage, if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 3
scoring a successful hit and injuring the enemy for 3 pts of damage; leaving the Lizardfolk caster seriously injured.
Round 7: Thorongil & Letswalo are up!
Thorongil of the House Stígr
Thorongil moves to E:10 with Acrobatics to avoid an AoO...
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Then he lobs his Tanglefoot bag on the creature...
Attack vs. Touch...
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
GM Ariarh of the Storm
In a quick, cunning move, Thorongil tumbles into position on the other side of Letswalo and lobs a tanglefoot bag at the enemy.
The bag strikes the creature true.
Reflex save (DC 15): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
and it fails to move out of the way and is stuck/glued to the barricade, entangled in the hardening sticky resin/substance.
Enemy caster is entangled, unable to move from her square. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell’s level or be unable to cast the spell.
Goo becomes brittle and cracks apart in: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 rounds.
==
Round 7: Letswalo is up!
Letswalo
Letswalo does not waste a moment in taking advantage of the creature's predicament, and thrusts his rapier at its pinned form.
Rapier: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Sneak Attack damage if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 1
GM Ariarh of the Storm
With exceptional determination and force, Letswalo thrusts his rapier at the enemy before him; piercing her flesh and striking the final, deadly blow. The lizardfolk caster slumps down; stick stuck in the hardened resin that she cannot slump to the ground. Instead, she hangs limp; blood dripping down on the barricade and washed away by wind and rain.
End of Combat.
Upon search of her lifeless body, the party discover the following items: a brooch of shielding, a wand of cure moderate wounds (8 charges) and masterwork leather armour.
Nooria called up from her place by the base of the barricade, "Is she dead? If so, we must return to Stone Hall with the Sheriff. I will try to revive her here and then we must go before the storm becomes too fierce." Nooria looked to the heavens and horizon, watching the play of lightning and the larger storm brewing off shore. It appeared that the lightning strikes were now less frequent and centralised. Yet, the rain continued to fall heavily.
Survival check re weather forecast/worsening: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Nooria then bent down and examined the Sheriff's body for any wounds or marks; casting a keen healer's eye over her form.
Heal check on Adaela: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
"No visible cuts, bites or wounds. The Sheriff is breathing but unconscious. I see a large bruise and bump on her head."
Nooria lay her hand on the Sheriff's shoulder and began softly reciting the words of her healing spell.
CLW's on Adaela with Blessed Touch: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
Upon completion of the spell, Adaela's eyes slowly fluttered open and as she attempted to sit upright. Upon the sudden movement, a moan escaped her lips and she felt a little lightheaded before she came to her senses.
"What happened?", Adaela asked. Nooria helped the law woman to her feet and pointed up to her companions on the barricade. "We stopped the lizardfolk raiders. Their leader is dead, also. We must get out of the rain now, if you can walk?"
Once Thorongil and Letswalo climbed down from the barricade and joined the others, Nooria moved them away from the dead Lizardfolk and then lifting her holy symbol, called upon Sarenrae's healing light to knit the wounds of her allies.
Channel Healing with Blessed Touch: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Channel Healing with Blessed Touch: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The entire party were healed whole and could journey back to the walled Pridon's Hearth and Stone Hall.
Everyone is back to full HP now. All your tasks have been completed; you just need to return to the hall with the Sheriff. It's currently midnight in game.
Letswalo
Letswalo roughly withdraws his rapier from the now-deceased lizardfolk.
"Good riddance.", he utters, none too quietly as he searches the body.
"A damn fine brooch!", he adds.
When Nooria announces that the Sheriff yet lives, his response is swift.
"Then let us get her - and us - out of this damned rain."
He does appreciate having his wounds closed though.
He takes a baleful glance at the weather before moving on with the others.

Upon completion of the spell, Adaela's eyes slowly fluttered open and as she attempted to sit upright. Upon the sudden movement, a moan escaped her lips and she felt a little lightheaded before she came to her senses.

[ooc]Heal Check

"What happened?", Adaela asked. Nooria helped the law woman to her feet and pointed up to her companions on the barricade. "We stopped the lizardfolk raiders. Their leader is dead, also. We must get out of the rain now, if you can walk?""
After Nooria attends to healing the sheriff Thorongil accepts her healing as well.
'Many thanks," he says to her with a quiet voice, his body still wearing from all of their labors.
"A damn fine brooch!", he adds.
When Nooria announces that the Sheriff yet lives, his response is swift.
"Then let us get her - and us - out of this damned rain."
He takes a baleful glance at the weather before moving on with the others.
Noting that his allies have been studying the weather, he also elects to, just in case...
Survival Check to study the weather
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
EDIT: Doubt either my aid to Healing or my Survival Check revealed anything; but just in case.
He then directs his Dancing Lights to help illuminate their path as they make their way back to Pridon's Hearth to discover what must happen next...
GM Ariarh of the Storm
You all got 1's for your survival rolls. How unlucky! Ha.
The thunderstorm continued its steady and heavy stream down upon the colony, the surrounding island towns and the few unfortunates still out in the rain. Each ally attempted to determine how long it would last, yet they could not do so for it was too erratic. One thing they were sure of, the growing hurricane plainly visible to the west was gathering mass and that was of great concern.
The small party, including the Sheriff now healed by Nooria, picked themselves up and began making their way to the walled colony and the security of the roofed Stone Hall.
Once they crossed the threshold of the inn, Sheriff Adaela made her way to her command desk and the worried town elders congregated around it, eager for news.
Looking to the four agents, she merely stated, "Get some rest. The town is as safe as it can be and we can do no more this late night. In the next day or two, we shall inspect the state of Pridon's Hearth and Island Town and determine what needs to be done. For your valiant efforts this night, I am certain Count Narsus will compensate you generously. He has called a meeting at noonday, so you will have plenty of time to sleep before then. Thank you and good night." And with a gentle nod of her head, Adaela excused the party to change into dry clothes and find their respective beds. She then turned to the town elders and quietly filled them on what transpired with the Lizardfolk. One of the deputies draped a dry, warm blanket across the Sheriff's shoulders for she remained in her wet clothes for now.
You're free to make any last bits of rp before bed or you can narrate what you do before you go to sleep. Once that is done, we'll move along to the morning. :)

Exhausted and drenched, Letswalo seeks a warm, easily secured corner -or room - in which to lie down and sleep.
"Good night, Thorongil, Nooria. You can find me over there.", he says, pointing.
And adds in halfling:
"Good night, Muhdzuzi."
Thorongil of the House Stígr
Thorongil says nothing but nods his head in response, now more used to the manner of the sheriff.
He pauses and studies the storm, his mind tacking briefly to the cold of the north when such storms where rare and ice and snow more common then shrugs and takes off his cloak, ringing the water from its folds.
Exhausted and drenched, Letswalo seeks a warm, easily secured corner -or room - in which to lie down and sleep.
"Good night, Thorongil, Nooria. You can find me over there.", he says, pointing.
And adds in halfling:
"Good night, Muhdzuzi."
"Good night, my friend," he responds.
He turns to Nooria.
"You have my thanks for all of the healing you provided," he says to her with a bow of his head "but for your aid I and my companions would likely be dead."
"Do you have lodgings or supplies?" he asks her as he watches her in the dim light of the room, prepared to offer her anything if to aid her if she needed it.
He considers heading back to the tavern with the Halflings, but given the time he does not wish to disturb them at such a late hour - especially given the trials of the night.
He looks around the room and hangs his cloak on a hook to dry and then takes off his boot and takes time to dry them with a rag, knowing full that the leather of wet boots can be a problem if they dry poorly.
After the leather is padded as dry as he can make it, and the mud cleaned from their ridged soles, he then takes a small tin filled with oil and grease and rubs it into the leather to keep them from cracking or peeling as they dry out.
As he rubs his boots he looks at Nooria.
"This thing we saw had attacked the fort south; clearly they tried to rile the townsfolk with the Halfling tribes... I do not know why they did so; but my heart is suspicious of their plans and purposes... I do not think that is the last we shall see of their grim ilk," he says in a quiet voice so as not to disturb the others who may be sleeping.
"You are still with us, my friend," he says to the Halfling "and I thank you also for your support."
Getting as comfortable as he can with his companions he then strips off his armor and applies the grease to it after drying it off with the rag and then strips his tunic from his chest and trousers from his hips and hangs the damp close to dry. Then he slips into bed with naught but a loose loincloth around his hips - his clothes, arms, gear and armor drying near him.
As he lays in bed he stares at the ceiling.
"That troll has escaped; on the morrow I shall ask that we track it. Trolls are foul creatures and only fire can slay them for they heal with almost magical speed... if it yet lives, as I suspect, we shall likely see it again as well..." he mutters, almost to himself, recalling the trolls and giants of his homeland.
"Sleep well, lady," he calls to her from his bed as he draws the blanket over his damp skin.
Unless Nooria or Muhdzuzi has further RP he'll go to sleep.
GM Ariarh of the Storm
The storm continued throughout the remainder of the night, although not with the same ferocity and frequency before the Lizardfolk attack on Island Town.
After a deep slumber after a very long day's labour, each member of the party rose and prepared themselves for the day ahead before moving downstairs to the dining hall to break their fast. (You may rp/narrate what you did upon waking, if you'd like.)
Seated at one of the tables by the great fireplace is Sheriff Adaela and her two prime deputies, the short Iavo Crus and the taller Seius Nasio. Noting her agents' presence, you are waved over to her table.
"Good morning. Please join us. I hope you all slept well for today we will see another busy day." Waiting for you to take a seat around the table, Adaela waved over the Halfing serving girl and had a quiet word to her before the girl nodded and dutifully left. "I have ordered us food and drink before we must leave. Oh, and in the early hours of the morning, the Halfling that came into town with you, he slipped out of Stone Hall without word. I had Iavo follow him to the gates and it seems he left town perhaps to find his own village." (Muhdzuzi has left Pridon's Hearth without leaving any word for you before his departure.)
It did not take long before the food was being brought out. Other tables in the dining hall had people wrapped in blankets eating and drinking - those who took shelter in Stone Hall during the storm and had yet to return to their respective homes. Low, sombre conversation ebbed and flowed about the room as most were too tired to demonstrate any semblance of spirit and ardour. Too much had come to pass last eve.
Three Halfling servers arranged platters and cups on the table. There was hot coffee and tea placed in pots on the table; honey, sugar and milk to the side. The platters contained thick slabs of freshly-baked bread, small pots of butter, portions of goat's cheese, thin slices of roasted pork, baked green apples and a bowl of still hot, hard-boiled eggs. Wooden utensils were left out, as well as clean, cloth napkins.
The deputy, Iavo, poured coffee into the Sheriff's mug as she filled her plate with food. When she was done, Adaela looked up and around the table at the party and advised, "Not long ago, we made an initial inspection of Pridon's Hearth and Island Town and there is little damage during last eve's storm and attacks. We were fortunate. There is much mud, loose shingles and some minor building damage. Yet, shops were being opened and people starting their work day and going about their business, so your efforts to protect the colony have proven successful. The rains have ceased for now; yet it is only the first storm for there is still the other growing in strength offshore. You have some time, an hour, after our meal to attend any personal needs. Then you must join me for we have received summons from Count Narsus - he will be meeting with the Town Council at his estate to discuss recent events. You three are invited to attend as recognition for your aid to me and Pridon's Hearth and to give testimony as to what has befallen Fort Breakthrough and our militia." The Sheriff took a long sip of her black coffee and buttered her bread fore taking a bite. Then drawing three pouches from a small chest by her feet, she pushed them forward - a pouch for each of you. "The citizens of Pridon's Hearth thought it fitting to reward you 150 gold pieces each for your efforts to protect them last eve. It is our show of gratitude. Take the coin and spend it as you see fit." (Please note on your sheets the 150 gp you each receive.)
Looking at her food, the Sheriff gave a small smile and instructed, "Let us eat and then we can can prepare before we head to the Narsus Estate. It lies not far beyond the eastern wall."
Letswalo
Upon waking, Letswalo feels every ache and bruise from the prior night's work.
Even magical healing can only do so much., he muses.
He stretches, checks his equipment for sabotage, and equips himself.
****************
Descending to breakfast, he does feel some cheer at seeing so many people about. And more cheer at the sheer amount of breakfast.
"Good morrow. And a good spread also.", he say as he reaches the table.
He fills his plate, having built a great hunger, and listens while he contentedly chews.
"I am unsuprised that the halfling left. He has his people to warn.", he mentions at one point.
When his mouth is clear again, he nods.
"My thanks for the show of gratitude. And I will of course be keen to attend such a meeting."

"Good morning. Please join us. I hope you all slept well for today we will see another busy day." Waiting for you to take a seat around the table, Adaela waved over the Halfing serving girl and had a quiet word to her before the girl nodded and dutifully left.
Thorongil's eyes flick around the room, as if seeking someone, but he says nothing, merely nodding at the sheriff before sitting down.
Thorongil leans back and cocks his head.
"Who can fault a man - or Halfling - for wishing to return home?" he asks, somewhat rhetorically.
Thorongil's eyes rove over the room as he listens and observes what the others are saying and speaking about.

Thorongil glances up at the Halflings.
"Many thanks," he say to them with a grave and gracious voice.
He then stands from the table and turns and stares to the west in silence for a moment, as if in silent meditation, then he sits down in the wooden chair and takes a wooden platter and places it before him.
He takes a bit of everything and eats ravenously; his body worn and sore from the long night in the pouring rain, but he feels a sense of comfort and ease coursing through his limbs as he breaks the fast from the lengthy and dangerous night.
He then takes a mug and drinks deeply of the coffee as he eats until the mug is empty. When it is empty, he helps reaches forward end refills the mug as he listens to the words of the sheriff.
"The citizens of Pridon's Hearth thought it fitting to reward you 150 gold pieces each for your efforts to protect them last eve. It is our show of gratitude. Take the coin and spend it as you see fit." (Please note on your sheets the 150 gp you each receive.)
Thorongil glances at the coins, but his attention is not focused on the wealth at this time.
"We are, of course, appreciative of their courtesy; yet we are not overly worried about such things at this time," he says.
Looking at her food, the Sheriff gave a small smile and instructed, "Let us eat and then we can can prepare before we head to the Narsus Estate. It lies not far beyond the eastern wall."[/b]
Hearing her words he continues to eat but is clearly distracted.
"While we are certainly eager to meet with this nobleman, there are - perhaps - more pressing concerns," he says eventually as he stretches out his long legs under the table and pushes the empty plate away from him and lifts the napkin to wipe his mouth.
He pauses in cleansing himself and takes another large drink of coffee and places the mug on the table.
"There is a troll in the wild near to this town; you southrons may not know the ways of the jungles, but in the north we know of trolls... Surely this is an issue that concerns you as well?" he asks, pressing the issue that is concerning him.
He then shakes his head and says nothing more on the subject, instead, he frowns as he thinks, his mind more intent on the needs of helping the town with further threats, as well as his missing companion.
"You indicated we should have some time to attend to personal matters? Very well; we shall do what we can to take care of those issues and then meet with you and your aids in two hours," he says to her with a more courteous voice.
Then he stands up and bows and turns to leave, pausing a moment and reaching to take the coins that were offered, almost as if he had genuinely forgotten about the small bounty that was offered.
"Good morning, sheriff; he shall meet again soon," he adds.
He looks at Letswalo before leaving.
"Are you coming, my friend?" he asks him before leaving.

Thorongil flicks a gaze at the sheriff and notes her silence.
He then looks around the room and his eyes rest on Nooria.
"Lady, will you join us?" he asks her as he and Letswalo prepares to leave.
"I am planning on speaking to some folk before our interview with this Count..." he adds.
Given that we only have an hour Thorongil intends to go to the Halfings he has met with before and personally check on them. If they are upset or worried he intends to do everything he can to calm them and make them feel at ease despite the issues with the storm
Diplomacy checks to make sure people are feeling okay -

He'll plan on going to the Halflings he met earlier; including also the bank/counting house and - if he has time, he'll also try to stop by that guy I disarmed earlier and check on his status too, mainly to see how he is doing.
GM - I can RP this out if you'd like; but Thorongil is mainly looking to people at ease rather than anything else. I don't know if this will even matter, but it's what he would do. Once it is done he'll return to meet up the sheriff to go meet the Count.
If it does make a difference, and if it helps, he'll happily take any Aid Checks from Letswalo and Nooria if they would add them?

When Thorongil brings up the troll, Letswalo nods as he chews on breas, then speaks.
"Aye. I would purchase a fine short bow if you know of one going. And flasks of flammable oil."
He ensures that he is sated, then turns to face Thorongil.
"I will accompany you to check on these halflings. It will speed things along."
He finishes with a half-smile.

GM - I'm also going to try to look for Eira and Oliya to see that they got back safely and are doing okay. However, given that I don't know where they are (unlike the others) and given that we don't have much time, if we don't have time to speak with them, that's okay - but I am hoping they are doing okay and made it back safely...
GM Ariarh of the Storm
Thorongil's cursory glance around the dining room of Stone Hall and his attempt to overhear any general conversation only reveal quiet, passing conversations about the storms, concern for the welfare of private homes and the future of the colony. The local townsfolk present in the Hall are pensive; not talking overly much and generally eating and drinking to break their fast before returning to their respective homes and any cleanup awaiting them.
"We are, of course, appreciative of their courtesy; yet we are not overly worried about such things at this time," he says.... "While we are certainly eager to meet with this nobleman, there are - perhaps - more pressing concerns,"
"You indicated we should have some time to attend to personal matters? Very well; we shall do what we can to take care of those issues and then meet with you and your aids in two hours," he says to her with a more courteous voice.
The Sheriff stared at the Northman. "I was not suggesting you go spend the coin right this moment, Thorongil. And, I am well aware of the issue with the wandering troll. Also, you have an hour before we must depart for the meeting. Not two. The meeting with the Count is important and he does not appreciate tardiness and neither do I. Please be mindful of this. I will meet the three of you at the eastern gate in an hour and we shall proceed to the count's estate"
The Halflings whom Thorongil wished to interview all reside and work within Stone Hall. They all appear well, being they were never in any danger inside the stone walls of the inn and on higher ground. They also appear busy serving food and drink to those still settled in the dining room and merely nod and smile at the Northman upon his inquiry into their health and well being - attempting to reassure him all is well with them. He is satisfied they are not in any danger or have suffered any losses during last eve's storm or attacks.
His eyes rest on Nooria.
"Lady, will you join us?" he asks her as he and Letswalo prepares to leave.
"Aye. I would purchase a fine short bow if you know of one going. And flasks of flammable oil."
Nooria had sat quietly, eating and drinking, during the general conversation around the table with the Sheriff. Upon Thorongil's query, she looked across at him and merely smiled, "I will. Earlier, I checked in with the healers at the Countinghouse of Abadar. Your previous female companions were there, no harm had befallen them during the course of the night, and were busily attending to the injured and circulating rations. Oliya was bickering with a drunken fellow named Theos Votto who spent the night sheltering at the countinghouse. He had suffered some minor scratches and bruises, but was attended to and so he left to return to his home right before I left to return to Stone Hall. So, it will only be the three of us attending to Count Narsus' invitation this day." Looking to Letswalo, she added, "If you're looking for weapons, then best we go see the smithy, Vethorn Valgardson. Perhaps he'll have a shortbow to sell you."
The trio departed Stone Hall and made their way to Northwind Smithy. Outside the workshop, they meet the blacksmith - a strapping, no-nonsense, brusque, Half-Elven male who had sailed to Pridon's Hearth from the distant north lands.
Employing all the diplomatic charms in the party, you manage to purchase your desired weapon/s with a small discount.
From Oyin Emporium, the party manages to purchase three flasks of Alchemist's Fire each (9 flasks in total); Mirya Oyin only charging 10 gold pieces per flask. (You each pay 30 gp for your respective 3 flasks of Alchemist's Fire. Please note it on your sheets.)
The hour goes by quickly and returning to Stone Hall you freshen up and collect any belongings you wish to take with you and make your way to the designated eastern gate. Sheriff Adaela is waiting there and she orders the gates to be opened for you to pass. They are quickly closed behind you as you head along the muddy road toward Narsus Estate.
Upon first look of the count's home, you can see the grandeur of the estate and how it humbles the rest of Pridon's Hearth. Servant quarters, a large barn, and a boathouse sit alongside the large manor, surrounded by fever trees.
Upon knocking, you are granted entry into the manor house via a young male servant and ushered into a formal sitting room. Already present are Count Lethar Narsus (a bespeckled man in his early 30's). In addition to the count and sheriff, the other two members within the circle of advisors are people of some influence in town: Banker Baldra Sifreth and the count's personal financial advisor, Hamsa Gadd. (Human female, 5'6", slim build, shoulder-length, straight red hair, pale skin, golden-brown eyes. Dressed in brown tight pants, brown skirt, knee-length leather boots, brown vest, green armour, rapier at her hip.)
"Good morning. Count Narsus, these people are my agents: Thorongil, Letswalo and Nooria."
The nobleman leader gazed at you keenly and then gestured for you to take a seat at the ornate chairs placed around his finely-crafted wooden desk in the room.
"Welcome to my home. It is good to finally meet with you. Please go ahead and tell us what you've discovered at Fort Breakthrough and the events that have come to pass since then."
Quietly, an older female servant moved around the occupants of the room, serving coffee and tea in a practiced, efficient and unobtrusive manner before leaving and closing the door behind her.
