Mekhu Inebni
|
"Do we have the resources to do this today?" Mekhu asks the others. "It sounds like some of us could use some time to prepare different spells. Maybe we could use the evening for a review of the prison's defences, then we rest overnight and enact our plan at dawn."
Pethwen
|
Pethwen is happy to go with the guard and prisoner ruse, prepared to be one of the lead guards, speaking to the ones at the door to befriend them and convince them to let them in.
Shen then spends an hour preparing a few extra spells.
Level 1: Obscuring Mist
Level 2: Flickering Lights
Level 3: Bestow Insight

Based on everyone's comments so far it sounds like,
1- case the place and set up some forged orders and a disguise.
2 -Then B.S. our way into the prison/cell
3- then let a bunch of prisoners out to cover our escape.
Egg Fu

That's what I was guessing, GM...we case the joint to see when prisoner transfers are more common...I'll act as the prisoner...Verdan said he could cast disguise on some of our party and he could also possibly charm the head guard...
Mekhu Inebni
|
Sounds like a plan. Are we going today or resting overnight?
Pethwen
|
Pethwen is fine either way, she just needs an hour to top up her spell but if there is no time pressure and others could benefit from the rest, then sounds good to me.
Mekhu Inebni
|
I can probably manage with a few minutes to brew up an extract of disguise self but I'm otherwise fairly good to go.
Mekhu Inebni
|
I'll use a point of inspiration on my check.
"Just a routine transfer," Mekhu says, trying to ignore how the uniform is slightly less comfortable than his normal robes.
Bluff: 1d20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (19) + 6 + (3) = 28
Khugron
|
Khugron scanned the jail to make sure it was safe, like he was on guard duty, before he returned his eyes to intently watching the prisoner. He then started to glare at the guards to hurry up with it.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
If perception won't work, then 20 for intimidate on the same roll.
Pethwen
|
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
Pethwen, her long flowing, almost silvery hair, cascading down over her shoulders and onto her back, smiles at the guards as she passes, letting her friends do the talking but radiating goodwill and giving a friendly wink to any that seem to show signs of attraction to her.

Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Egg Fu

Realizing the gig is up, Egg will grab his bow from Pethwen, take a 5' step SE, and fire at the dude behind the desk...
To hit: Base/Dex, Weapon Specialization, Magic, PBS, Deadly Aim
Damage: Str, PBS, Magic, Deadly Aim
Longbow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 30
Confirm: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 22
Damage: 3d8 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1) + 3 + 3 + 3 + 6 = 27 (If not confirmed, only 11 damage)
Egg Fu
|
My bad, GM, I'm old and I must be blind as well...didn't notice the doors and thought it was one big room...if the doors are open behind me and Pethwen, I'll fire at the dude west of Pethwen...if they're not, can I treat that as a readied action and will fire at anyone if that door is opened?
Pethwen
|
"Stand firm, my friends. Work together and we can withstand this threat!" Pethwen's voice rings out clear and loud in the confined spaces, echoing off the walls like the beat of a drum.
Inspire Courage. +2 Attack & Damage to all!
If Khugron moves in to attack the soldiers next to Pethwen, she will then 5' step back into the space where Khugron currently is.
Khugron
|
Rage started to course through Khugron as he stepped around to help Menku, trying to avoid getting attacked by the guisarme held by the captain.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
My CMD is 23 at this time
Khugron drew back his glaive
Power attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 211d10 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
| Helikon |
Khug tries to move in, but alas his acrobatics fails abmysal.
The captain the tries to trip him and alas
Trip: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33 Khurgan falls on his bottom!
Then the guards attack.
The first attacks the archer who shot at him, the other two attacks Pethwen, to silence the bard the first with a longsword, the second with his guisarme.
AttackEgg: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 172d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 3 = 10
AttackPethwen: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 251d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
AttackPethwen: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 202d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9
Confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Pethwen takes 26 damage
Rest and Egg

GM, did my earlier shot hit the guard?
Egg will fire twice at the guard in front of Pethwen...
To hit: Base/Dex, Weapon Specialization, Magic, PBS, Deadly Aim, Flurry of Blows, Inspired Courage
Damage: Str, PBS, Magic, Deadly Aim, Inspired Courage
Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 - 2 + 2 = 30

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 1 - 2 + 2 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 10
Verdan Kase
|
Calling apon his arcane powers Verdan says a short chant and casts Grease on the floor that the three guards are standing on.
(if both doors are open, if not he will just get the two that I can see unless the he can wrap around the closed door)
DC 15 Reflex save on the guards
Bartholomew Blueington
|
Bartholomew mumbles to himself, hoping this won't be a repeat performance of his last fight and he draws his sword and tumbles in.
arco: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Once in position he tosses something from the desk into the captains face, hoping to blind him
dirty trick: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Apparently I'm not meant to be effective in combat this scenario.
Mekhu Inebni
|
Before Mekhu can react he finds himself on the floor, tripped by the captain's polearm. He stands quickly and draws his sword as the guards close in around them.
Move Action to stand (which shouldn't provoke an AoO assuming the desk gives me cover), Move Action to draw my short sword.
| Helikon |
Unfortunately it is not enough... but luckily the captain will let you stand up.
The captain looks at the assembled and attacks Khugron.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 192d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 3) + 8 = 14
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 282d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 4) + 8 = 15
Confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 274d4 + 16 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 4) + 16 = 23 Khurgron is hit twice and alas the second hit is truly deep! 42
