Bram Dryerlyth |

Round 3, Init 9
Oh thought he tried to attack me.
Ride Check:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Bram re-positions himself int he mech before he swings once again.
Attack and Damage Roll:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 203d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6) + 6 = 21
Put ride and third round action in same post to keep game clean.

Aaron Lockley |

Aaron relentlessly is butchering his opponent that just has no response to Aaron's attacks You are VERY lucky that I keep rollin 2 or 4 in the attacks and ride checks lol
Whatever makes me look good ;-)
Attack: +4 STR, +2 BAB, -1 size, +1 height = +6
AoO on NPC4
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 152d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7
----------
Attack on NPC 3
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 242d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 6) + 4 = 15
His wild grin hidden by the imposing helmet of the MG, Aaron thinks to himself This is what I was born for!
NPC3 is currently showing 9 damage. If both attacks hit, that should be 20. If this one hits I should finish him off, unless Davros is piloting this one ;)

Grigori Faust III |

Gritting his teeth, Grigori thoroughly enjoys the thrill of battle, even if it's just a simulation.
"Axe versus scythe, but who will be cut down?" He asks his opponent as he swings his blade.
Scythe:1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 1 = 15
Damage:2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 + 3 = 18
Power Attack(-1 Attack, +3 Damage)

Round 3
Henk swing is to wide and misses, giving a chance to his opponent to swing at him but he got a bit over himself and almost fell down missing Henk entirely.
Brand swings and hits for no effect as the armor of the M.G. resists the blow which plays into his opponent strategy and gets a clear shot were Brand wasn't able to move much and connects 8 damage
Grigori Axe versus scythe, but who will be cut down? as Grigori swings his scythe, but the strength of his blow made it inaccurate as he only scrapes the paint off. There is no place for wonder, Z'gark will brake you! as he puts all the strength on an over head blow that scratches Grigori M.G. in a straight line, but also does no real damage, making him curse at his bad luck.
Aaron attempts to finish of his opponent to focus on a new one, but it dodges out of range and striking back Ride DC 23 or take 9 damage Aaron
NPC 4 Sorry but I have to win this! as he attempt to make a sneaky blow into Aaron's back but hits only the solid armor of it's M.G.
NPC 1 tries it's hardest to hit, but Bram superior handling of the M.G. is shown as he makes him look clumsy and more desperate to bring Bram down.
Bram answers in kind and with no kindness at all just silently hacking away at the poor bastard, with a masterful stroke that brings his opponent down and disappears into dust. You may now engage another target

Aaron Lockley |

Activating his booster for a split second, Aaron whips around and dodges out of the way of the blow.
Step to G13 (free)
Comms@NPC3 (free) "How about a truce while we finish off this interloper? It was rude of him to interrupt out duel!"
Perform Trip combat maneuver on NPC4: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
CMB = +7: +4(STR), +2(BAB), +1(Size)

you are both large, there is no real bonus
Round 4
Henk finishes off his adversary in one sweep of his sword turning him into dust.
Brand You son of a ..... you'll pay for that. as he barely was able to hit the opponent, but his great piloting skills let him escape the vengeful attack.
Grigori You'll need to do more than scratch the surface to do that! as he swings way off the mark and he gets a hideous laughter as response and what would seem a deadly hit. Grigori Ride DC 23 or take 13 damage
Aaron How about a truce while we finish off this interloper? It was rude of him to interrupt out duel! as Aaron attempts to fell his new opponent but in the last second he is able to remain standing, but failing to respond to the attack as his attack is to wide and a bit short.
NPC 3 engages Aaron again trying to take advantage and pay him back, but Aaron steps out of the way in the last moment.
Bram is still untouched, very lucky indeed
NPC 1 tries it's hardest to hit, but Bram superior handling of the M.G. is shown as he makes him look clumsy and more desperate to bring Bram down.
Bram moves searching for someone else to trash.

Aaron Lockley |

With yet another mech entering the fray, Aaron uses his axe like a golf club and slices in an upward arc at the armor on the opposing MG's leg, nearly(?) cutting it off!
Attack: +4 STR, +2 BAB, -1 size, +2 flanking = +7
Attack @ NPC3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Critical threat! 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 6d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 4, 1, 6) + 12 = 30 30 damage!

Aaron Lockley |

I already asked about that, the hardness only counts for sundering. I think the A.C.E. would last all day if we had to hack through the DR *and* the AC! I'm definitely going to consider one of the 'Improved X' combat maneuver feats for mech combat with my next feat choise. CMD is probably going to be significantly lower than AC for mech pilots...

Round 5
Henk moves to engage the closest enemy unit, receiving an attack as he gets close enough Ride DC 25 or take 10 damage
Brand furiously swings but misses completely his target, leaving his opponent breath and hacking back at him Ride DC 23 or take 8 damage.
Grigori Lucky shot axe-boy! as he himself swings of the mark, making his opponent laugh as he swings his enormous axe, but much to his possible demise the momentum of his axe and his laughing got him off balance and drops to a kneeYOU ARE VERY LUCKY... I rolled a 1 and then a 2...
Aaron feels somewhat betrayed at his futile attempt of convincing the other pilot on helping him and with a brutal strike he cleaves his M.G. from the shoulder to the groin turning him to dust...
NPC 4 decides that a tactical withdraw is the best option as he now feels there are too many opponents and Aaron is not to be f*&^% with at the moment.

Henk Smarne |

So, to be clear: If one makes the Ride check, then the mech takes the damage instead of the PC. Right?
Ride 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Henk begins to question his decision to engage another enemy. He swings at NPC-3 with his longsword again, maintaining his flanking position.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Aaron Lockley |

@Henk: NPC3 is gone, I took him out of the fight last turn. You can take your chances with Aaron, or head after NPC4...
Also, the ride checks work just like they would for mounted combat (from what I understand). A successful ride check negates the damage altogether. It might be an interesting mechanic to have averted attacks damage the mech though...

![]() |

You are right I missed it, my daughter has been driving me insane when I sit on the PC she is a todler so they can be very demanding lol
Ride check is to avoid any physical damage to Mech (as if they were targeting your mount), PC only take damage from magic sources when inside a mech, that divides damage between mech and pilot 50-50 ratio, but some spells like (cloud spells) hit only the pilot unless you have H.E.L.P. system in your Mech.

Aaron Lockley |

Evaluating the battlefield, Aaron finds that he doesn't particularly like the 3 other pilots lurking around him. He engages the boosters and sprints toward the small plaza to the north where two damaged mechs are sparring (G6), choosing it for the defensible courtyard and the possibility of finishing off one of the combatants.

Round 6
Henk stays in his place visualizing the battlefield to assess his options.
Brand finishes off his enemy with a precise blow turning him to dust.
Grigori [b]Don't bow yet, I've only scratched you
Aaron Lockley |

Aaron again attacks the legs of the mech in front of them, this time trying to catch it off balance and sweep it off its feet rather than do any real damage. He keeps a careful eye on the mech standing on the building above him...
you are both large, there is no real bonus
I factored size into my CMB last time because I figured it would also be factored into the CMD... just like you had us factor size into our AC and attack rolls. Should I leave it out in the future?
Attack: Trip @ 'Grigori' 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Ride check (if necessary, to negate an attack): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
CMB: +2BAB +4STR +2Flanking +1Size

Brand Hawkens |

Brand laughs as his opponent's MG is disabled and brings moving south when he see another MG and moves to engage. (move to Q27) "Time to meet your maker, boy!" Brand says as he takes a two-handed swing with the longsword.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
Ride Check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Ok back to normal internet
Round 6
Henk moves and waits for the combat to end to fight the winner or maybe pick the perfect timing and finish both!?
Brand Time to meet your maker, boy! as he swings and his weapon goes deep into the enemy MG turning him to dust.
Grigori laugh maniacally as he dodges an attack from the back and uses the momentum to decapitate and take an extra slice of torso from his opponent as he fall and turns into dust cursing at him.
Bram smiles as his new quarry is within reach and he moves closer.
NPC 4 Charges with everything it's got against Aaron trying to catch him off guard and flank him and finds his target, except he didn't put enough force behind the punch UNBELIEVABLE B*&^ S%$^! I got a crit threat that didn't confirm and rolled 1 on all dice for damage... Aaron takes 8 damage.
Fr some reason I think Brand killed his opponent last turn or I made a mistake but anyway, let's pretend he just killed him then

Aaron Lockley |

Why did I take the damage? Grigori's AoO didn't hit my AC, and my ride check of 30 should have been enough to beat even a natural 20...?
Caught off guard, Aaron strikes back with a few quick feints to keep his opponents at a distance while he steps back to recover his balance and consider his options.
Attack: +4 STR, +2 BAB, -1 size, -4 fighting defensively = +1
Attack @ NPC4:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
