Just a quick aside, to keep things moving quickly, if you need your party members to do something that involves a roll out of combat, such as a cast a healing spell on you, or make a skill check, just go ahead and roll for them rather than going through the process of asking them in character and having me RP an affirmative reply and rolling.
Example: Combat has ended, but you're still hurt, and want Badwe to heal you with one of his Channel Positive Energy uses for the day. Rather than going "Badwe, could you please patch me up a bit?" and waiting for me to respond with a dice roll, you can just roll it for him and describe the action like, "Badwe notices that Karis is still wounded, so he Channels Positive Energy [dice expression here]."
I can promise you that they won't stand around dumbly out of combat waiting for your direction, they will make some skill checks on their own. However, I do want you to take a leadership style position in the group, so do not expect them to autonomously do everything on their own. For example, if you are confronted with say, a strange holy symbol, sometimes Badwe will just go ahead and roll Knowledge Religion and tell you what it is based on the check. Other times, I will wait for you to ask him.

Karis Haldva |

I think that sounds like a good way to work things. I don't think they'll refuse her requests. At least, when she's not being a complete brat. In general, I like that kind of shared control of the secondary party members. Once we get into the game, the details will evolve to something that works for both of us.

GM of Righteousness |

Haha, I expect you to work on her as you go :) It usually takes awhile to really find a character's "voice" if that makes any sense.
She's great, I love her so much. I really admire that you're embracing the low charisma aspect of her character. She's gonna save the world, whether the world wants her to or not!
I have another solo game going alongside yours, and its awesome how different you are already, despite both picking up martial-focused characters. The other PC is quickly making friends, but she's a paladin, so that's kind of their gig. Well, not with Gwerm. He's ah, a special one... but he's my favorite since it's fun to test what good heroes are willing to put up with ;)
I'm sure this merry band will make Karis' journey back to the surface a memorable one, if anything.

Clarification on the scale magic item:
The scale can be used three times per day to cast Resist Energy against either cold or electricity. It is attuned to Karis, so only she can use it, but she can use it on another target if she likes. She doesn't have to make a check, she just instinctively knows how to use it and what it does. It grants 30 points of resist energy and the buff lasts 170 minutes.

GM of Righteousness |

Yes, standard action, cold OR electricity. It doesn't stack with other effects that grant resist energy (such as tiefling racial), and you can't cast it twice on the same person to have cold AND electricity, the 2nd cast would overwrite the first one.
The other campaign is only slightly ahead. His character has picked a tunnel and moved on to a new room. You post more often though, so I expect you to overtake them soon. He is only ahead because we skipped the festival (player had done the festival in multiple pbp WotR games before only to have the game fall apart as soon as they arrived in the underground).
...Technically the AP wants you to start the game underground and just recap the festival but most GMs I've read about (me included) hate that. I think it's to protect a player from stupidly charging the Storm King and getting killed but I don't think I've met a player who would be that dumb.

1. Sorry for the delay, life gets hectic.
2. Not sure how you want to handle the maggot-assault. From my POV, it's pretty much just flavor, but I can certainly understand that it might call for a check (or an initiative roll, if Horgus is feeling reckless) or some kind.
3. I assume the 500gp is off the table now. I see that I'm going to have to look for other sources of income with Karis as group leader.
4. I'm trying to mostly leave Badwe, etc in your hands out of combat. I suppose they could make some sort of roll to try to salvage Horgus's good will, but it doesn't seem likely to succeed.

GM of Righteousness |

It's not a big deal :)
Can pretty much assume, haha! At least he's not particularly threatening, as far as enemies go.
I'm keeping up with them, but for decisions that could possibly impact the overall story (such as befriending people/making enemies) I'm trying to keep that in your hands. So I'd rather you do diplomacy/intimidate/bluff. I'm also not comfortable with expending party resources (such as bardic performance or cleric channels, craft checks, or in the future things like potions) without your explicit go ahead, since that has combat repercussions.
I'm comfortable with autonomously doing stuff like knowledge rolls, heal checks, survival, UMD or sense motive. The odd perception if Karis manages to roll really low.

GM of Righteousness |

Oh and regards to $$$ don't worry about it, this AP is...extremely generous about WBL. It won't feel like that at first, naturally. But once stuff starts picking up speed around book 2-3 it just rains gear.
I think the intention here was that good PCs would donate money to non-combat stuff (like, say, repairing the city you live in that demon's just ransacked and providing food to the poorer denizens).
But what appears to happen, at least from my reading the AP boards, is PCs getting WBL*3 or without even crafting fairly easily. Cuz why spend gold on NPCs when you can spend it on you??
So consider this a hint, to, y'know, not worry about doing some cool flavorful stuff with all dat dough. Once you're sufficiently blinged out of course ;)

Snake Charmer |

I'm really not worrying about the $$$$. I'm really a big fan of a very huzzah! style of play (hard to guess, I know) and my RL table has a compulsive looter. It works out great. I never think about the gp until one day he says we've got 50k, and I start thinking how to spend it.
This will save me from sending Marina down the item creation route, though.

GM of Righteousness |

Hey thurr!
I added a bunch of stuff to the wiki. Specifically: a link for magic items, locations, and a list of objectives to keep stuff straight.
I also made an excel document for tracking weight, and consumables. I've already added all your characters and all their stuff. Excel doc has been added to the campaign tab.
You might wanna check out Bearclaw and move stuff around because right now he is under Heavy Encumbrance (so he has a max dex of +1 so he shoots his crossbow at a +1 not +2 attack roll).
Also on the excel doc there is a tab for the date and time. I also have buffs on there so now you can know exactly how much time is left on Dancing Lights hahaha.
I'm happy to keep the excel doc updated because I'm insanely detail oriented and I understand that most people don't enjoy the heavy duty book-keeping aspects of the game. ;)
You never mentioned picking that torch back up but since it has so much time left on it I'm gonna say Badwe picked it up and he's standing at the rear of the group with Anevia and Aravashnial.

OK cool. I completely agree about the archetype. It's a very archetypal archetype, with a great mythic (didn't Haracles get angry and accidentally kill his wife?) feel, but really not the kind of thing you want to make other players cope with. At least, not players you like.
I try to specify when she's raging, and for ease of play, I'll try to specify when she's not.

GM of Righteousness |

Unchained is out!
I don't plan on changing anything, as mythic solo is enough to fiddle with for me, haha. I will be converting monks and rogues to the unchained monks and rogues, though. I will also use the new poisons/diseases (though tbh there aren't many of those in the AP).
However, if you would like a free retrain to Unchained Barbarian, go ahead.
If you would like to experiment with other subsystems (such as the Stamina subsystem) we can do it, I'm leaving it up to you.

Snake Charmer |

Haven't looked at unchained yet, but lord knows the rogue needs some love. Is any of the stuff up on the SRD?
But the multiclassing variant seems kind of cool. Especially since power attack barbarian is more or less a 1 feat build. I wonder what a VMC from druid gets? For pure flavor, if she can turn into an angry sarkorian bear-spirit when she rages... [/drool]
Or maybe I just go ahead with the beast totem and SAY she turns into an angry sarkorian bear-spirit when she rages.
Which is sort of what the totem represents. Sigh.

GM of Righteousness |

Totem is awesome!
Do you want to variant multiclass into druid?
You get:
Level 1: Swear druidic oath. Learn secret druidic language. Swear to respect nature, not teach language to non-druids, forbidden from wearing metallic armor.
Level 3: Wild Empathy (druid level = character level)
Level 7: You gain an animal companion who is your level - 4.
Level 11: Your animal companion increases to be your level, not -4.
Level 15: You can wildshape into a small or medium animal twice a day for up to 1 hr/lvl.
Level 19: You can wild shape into large or tiny animals or a small elemental (per beast shape II or elemental body I) three times per day, 1 hr/lvl.
