Molitor Rask |
Do you move up next to it or stay back?
I don't like the sound of that question...
Molitor follows the meat-shield's lead.
Xandarian Quartermain |
Xandarian hesitantly follows, still reeling from the mental encounter with his god.
Marcus McCain |
Marcus reconsiders his decision to step forward, as Grub himself whispered it might not be the best of ideas...
... but followed it with a 'It might be rad, tho, famalam'.
As such, Marcus moves up next with his crossbow locked, stocked and ready to shoot.
Readied action to shoot at it if its more damned bugs. Only if its bugs, tho.
Molitor Rask |
"You go Marcus .... you go." Molitor says as he keeps his axe ready.
drbuzzard |
Marcus inches up closer to the hooded figure on the bench with his crossbow at the ready. As he gets right up next to him, and thinks about what to do next, the figure stands and turns around. It's apparently a dwarf in robes that look to be those of a priest.
All of a sudden the face melts off the thing, and it emits a soul rending shriek as it attacks.
Init time since I'm pretty sure nobody expected good to come of this.
init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
I'm willing to bet that wins, so I'll go.

to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 5 damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 fail
and Marcus goes down.
Rest of you are up.
Molitor Rask |
Molitor pulls a vial containing an extract of enlarge person off of his bandoleer and swigs it down, be grows in size and waves his axe.
"Marky-Mark is down!" he calls over his shoulder.
Kevin Hurly |
Kevin yells out, "WHAT?!" and moves into the room and stops when he sees the thing in front of him.

Marcus McCain |
Marcus remembers his training days, as his Instructor made them read the old Guard's workbook "3.5s bestiary" "Huecuvas are sons-of-b+*%*es." all of this passes his mind as he slow-mo falls to the ground.
Fortitude #1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Fortitude #2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
"f@+@, I hope I don't get undead ghonorrea or something." is his last witty commentary before passing out.
Somehow, after facing hordes of vermin, a Huecuva seems like facing a Balor or something.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Earthbreaker in hand Tanrov will move into the room If he can get past Molitors giant butt and attack..

Xandarian Quartermain |
Standing behind everyone, Xandarian gets ripped from his revelry when Punchy McPunchface is f#<ked up by an undead dwarf.
"AHHH", exclaims the cleric, "COME ON!!"
Holding his holy symbol aloft, Xandarian exclaims further, "Cayden Cailean says f#<k you'!"

Marcus McCain |
Marcus uses his round to try and man up through his chest wounds.
Con Check not to die: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 1 = 3
But he botched it.
Molitor Rask |
wouldn't the channel help Marcus not die?
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Nope with channel you choose to damage undead or heal living..
drbuzzard |
Since Uelarik actually won init, he can go again before the thingy (but I'm still going to do my moves, since he can't really stop that).
The undead formerly known as Dwarf attacks Kevin after advancing 5' to stand over the body of Marcus McPassedOut.

to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 11 damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 miss
Enlarge person takes a full round, so Molitor doesn't expand till his turn. This is a good thing since otherwise he would be screwing everyone up front from squeezing. Though looking at the map, I'm not exactly sure where he is going to go if he is large, but that's his problem. (If he is in the room with the critter his allies get squeezed, if south, he is squeezed and the critter gets cover).
I suppose he could try to bull rush it away.
Molitor Rask |
Can't take my action back and I was already in that room, following Marcus as stated above.
Squeeze past Tanrov, drawing an attack of opportunity. (or two or three if it's an especially nimble dead dwarf)

Con Check: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 2 = 17
And the tough son-of-b%$ called Marcus Motherfragging McCain decides dying is for pussies.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Tanrov moves to Marcus and casts cure light wounds on him
"Mighty Pharasma it is not this ones time yet, allow me to heal him so that I can save you the time judging him."

Molitor pulls out a cure light wounds extract and drinks it.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"I need to sit down."
Molitor Rask |
(low is good, right?)
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
After searching the body
Tanrov will take the undeads body out of the temple and off to the side and pile rocks over it.
"Saved from undeath this one was Lady of Graves, take him and judge him to his final resting place finally."
Tanrov goes back to his companions
"Should we try and restore this temple to the light?"

Uelarik considers how to consecrate the site.

Xandarian Quartermain |
Xandarian walks over to the Marcus, putting his pack down next to him, pulling out his last potion of cure light wounds and pouring it down the fighter's throat.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
"I know you fighter's take a lot of damage, but maybe someone ELSE might need curing spells and effect, too? Both of those potions cost about 100gp. I could have spend that expensive ale and cheap whores", says the cleric to the city guard.
Addressing the elf, Xandarian comments, "Yeah, we should re-holy this place us. Torag, and dwarves in general, can appreciate ale like few can."
Kevin Hurly |
Kevin looks around the place and tsks, "This place is FILTHY. I can't in good conscious leave it like this. Let's get it cleaned up and I'll think about what we may need to do to re-consecrate it."
Kn: Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
"It seems we have a consensus then.. lets get to it, maybe we can look after the wellbeing of our 3 travelling companions while we do this?"
Tanrov gets to cleaning, utilising created water and whatever cloth he can find to scrub
drbuzzard |
After Kevin recalls the full process, you realize it will take a while (8 hours), but you start on in. The merchant grumbles and whines a bunch, and doesn't help. The other two accept the idea without complaint, but aren't much help.
By the time you are done, you feel a bit tuckered out, but the place is spotless and seems to feel holy once more. In fact you can feel that someone upstairs approved (above Kenabres) and you have a bless spell for the next 24 hours.
It is also safe to camp here.
Molitor Rask |
Molitor stretches out to get some rest.
"I'll take last watch...." he says as he covers his face with his hat.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt |
Seeing as he is still wounded Tanrov will give Marcus another heal spell

In the interest of moving right along, you set up watches expecting an invasion of giant vicious ladybugs, but nothing threatens you all night. Nothing even seems to come near. Perhaps the holy place keeps out hostile critters?
Being as though you are on a train, now you get back on and head down the other passage south. This passage goes for quite a while and winds a bit, eventually bringing you into a large cavern from the west.
Stone figures are carved into the walls of this cavern. Each depicts a different crusader clad in armor and wielding weapons, but their carved stone features contain expressions of sadness.
Molitor Rask |
Before we leave, Molitor resets his extracts with some alchemical tinkering.
"Some sort of monument to the futility of the crusades?" Mol muses as he examines the statues.

Ok, I guess nobody else looks around, so the critters get the drop on you all.
Suddenly the room goes dark (well, sorta dark, just dim light, not blackness).
Then 3 flying octopoidy looking thingies come flying at you from behind the statues attacking Marcus McOblivious, Kevin, the unwatchful, and Tanrov, the tried to be perceptive.
