DM Nick |
-Hi I'm recruiting the players from the Wayward Kings games, as our DM has a conflict at this time. Anyway, I'll be trying to include any players who are interested in using their old characters. You can consider the events of wayward kings to be part of their back story.
-So if you are interested in letting me DM, post your current character in the recruitment thread, and if we have enough, I should have a gameplay thread up in a day or two.
-This is all of sudden, but I already run a Pbp and so I spend too much time on the forum anyway. I'd hate to see these games and characters just die.
-Anyway good luck and hope to see you soon.

Durnak Zweiblatt |

I would be interested. I really like Durnak, thought he had a good personality even though his accent is a pain in the butt to type.
The only thing I might change depending on the flavor of your campaign is his Favored Enemy and possibly switching out the Combat Reflexes feat, I like it, but with a 14 Dex, only getting one extra AoO is not really that useful.

Malcom Eviscerator |

Malcom Eviscerator signing on.
Fighter with the CAD archetype and all around hot stuff from group 1. Go on touch.
On a more serious note, depending on what the party ends up being I might want to completely redo Malcom from the ground up. Race & Class. He was originally designed as a Fighter 1/ Sorcerer 19 but was changed to straight fighter after some people dropped. Now he has a bunch of stuff that isn't really relevant.
If the front line position gets filled I have other things I might like to try. If not I'll still be just as happy.

Krolmnite Underhill |

Krolmnite Underhill for you look. btw, what's the campaign going to be about that you're picking up from? Set in Golarian or someplace homebrew? If Golarian, where?
If it's going to be the same location hope you get get the notes from the old DM to help give you a idea where the adventure was heading.
Will ammend the character sheet, it was changed due to using 1 or 2 perishable items like tanglefoot bag and such.

Durnak Zweiblatt |

Interesting group:
1-Ranger
1-Summoner
1-Magnus
1-Wizard(transmuter)
1-Paladin
1-Fighter(Cad)
1-Rogue(Swashbuckler/Scout)
1-Cleric
Gonna be tough to break up.
3 Arcane (Wizard/Magnus/Summoner)
3+ Melee (Fighter/Ranger/Paladin/Magnus)
1+ Skill (Rogue/Ranger)
1 Divine
Biggest problem would be only one divine and one party without a skill player (really no true rogues as Genisen is more of a melee rogue than a skill monkey as I recall.)

DM Nick |
Alright...what I'd like to do is pick two captains, who than pick who they wish to adventure with. I going to go ahead and say...
Team 1 captain is Malcom Eviscerator and
Team 2 captain is Durnak
What I need you to do is suggest the 3 players you'd like to adventure with. In addition Ingrid Troll Slayerwas my PC, so we are going to forget about her for now.
-I plan to have you return to Red Wall, and run the adventure as he described it. A corrupt criminal city that has seen much better days. There will be expeditions to both mines, and forests, but this will be a urban campaign. We will pick up play, in a tavern. Cliche, yes. Your experiences in the game so far ARE part of your back story. But you will be meeting new NPC's and locations.

Malcom Eviscerator |

Cant we just have 1 massive party? I think that'd be fun!
If not,I'd like to have Shael, Luther and Genisen. That will not make even teams though.
I want Shael on my team no matter what. We have synergy. The rest I can work around. I'm used to not playing with balanced teams. We haven't heard from Lucky and Gurni from our game either. Could I send them a PM to see if they want to play? 2 Clerics would help balance things. I'm not sure if Gurni is even following any more or not. He hasn't been around in a while.
I think I'm going to stay as a Fighter but am going to completely re-work my Stats, Feats, Traits and change Archetypes, maybe Race too. But other than that not much... If something else is really needed I can still play something different.
Do we get level 2 starting gold?

Durnak Zweiblatt |

While I hate losing Genisen, I think I will vote for the three original members of team 2 -- Krol, Fearghus and Luther.
Trying to figure what to do with leveling, the big decision is which Ranger weapon choice to make - Two Weapon, Two Handed Weapon, or Archery.
Can we rework feats and class abilities? I would prefer Humanoid(human) as my preferred enemy rather than goblins. Goblins are fun, but unless there are hundreds of them, the extra damage would probably not be very useful. Also, I might want to switch a feat or two depending on which ranger weapon technique I choose.

Luther Lightblade |

Malcolm, we may connect after all.
I would vote first for two large parties. Attrition is killing my games. Anyone interested in taking Adam's spot in my Dwarves Campaign? Could use a dwarf monk or gnomish paladin for team dwarf.
Luther was designed to feed off Durnak's heavy axe and combat reflexes and Genisen's sneak attack damage.
Level 2 cleric 1d8 ⇒ 6

Durnak Zweiblatt |

Durnak will still have the big axe, but I think that he will be an archer ranger with rogue sneak attack damage. Get him a nice +2 Composite (18 str) Longbow and a few feats and he will do some nice damage.
I agree, attrition stinks. I have looked at the Dwarf/Elf campaign a few times, but think I will hold off on that one. I am hoping to start my own pbp at some point and don't want to completely kill myself - already in a ton of campaigns.

DM Nick |
-I have a very strange schedule, in that I work split shifts most days...and live in China.
-I dislike large parties in that I feel it slows gameplay down. 1 players needs to go to a funeral, and the game play stops until he posts, meanwhile another player loses interest.
-I'm happy to let the parties move up to 5. However.

Malcom Eviscerator |

The 4th is good for me. That will give me enough time to make the necessary changes that I'd like to my character.
Durnak, I will give you first choice at teammates. Pick who you'd like and the rest will be on my team.
If anybody has a say in which team they'd like to be on you should speak up. I'd hate for somebody to end up on one team and wishing they were on the other.
I'm easy going.
-----
DM Nick, will we be using maps for this adventure? I like maps.
What will be the posting frequency with your strange schedule?

Durnak Zweiblatt |

RL got in the way of Pathfinderizing a 128 page module, gotten through the first part, but it is going to take some time. Probably another month before I open recruitment. Also, since a fair number of the younger players (less than say 40) have probably played the computerized versions, I may change some of the dungeons to keep people on their toes.
Trying to figure out how to split the group at present.

Genisen Larkova |

My first 3.0 character was a halfling barbarian thrown by my friend's half-orc barbarian. (Who took throwing me as an exotic weapon proficiency while I had spiked armor and punching daggers) We played them as "half" brothers. (Ker'Thunk was his and mine was Ker'Splat)
The party you mentioned sounds fun! ;)

Luther Lightblade |

I vote for keeping group 2 and using Krol as our caster. I think the beef heavy party will work well. Luther, Durnak, Genisen, Fearghus, and Krol.
Let me know if anyone wants to join the dwarves or the elves. I think PbPs are like going to the gym -- everyone thinks posting once a day is a good thing, but it is not as easy to put into practice.

Durnak Zweiblatt |

Based on the comments:
Team 1:
Malcom - melee
Shael - melee/arcane
Anna - arcane
Serendepity - divine
Team 2: (Original Group 2)
Durnak - Melee
Faelar - Melee/Divine
Luther - Divine
Krol - Arcane/Melee
Genisen - Skill/Melee
Essentially, keep the parties as they were. Team 1 is slightly short a skill player if someone knows somebody, but has a lot more arcane.
