Bumping the thread.

GM Coyote |

Though there's nobody other than the party to see Elsa's movement towards the door, she almost vanishes from view. Studying the door closer, there seems to be several locks on it, all of which would need to be disabled.

Erick Bonestihl |

Erick readies both weapons, and backs up the short halfling.

Elsa Swiftfoot |

Elsa looks at the locked door, then back at the others.
She shrugs.
picking locks is not in my skill set. she whispers. She smiles. Let's see if they will open it for her. She gestures for the others to stay out of direct sight.
Then she knocks on the door. Loudly.

GM Coyote |

Elsa hears a voice call out from within, faint and slightly nervous, ”W...what?”

Elsa Swiftfoot |

delivery. I have a package for you. From the... She pause for a second the bakery? I don't know, some people can't write. Anyway, it's for here.
Waiting a second, she says could you hurry up, I have other deliveries

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Kristleifur takes the commotion from below as a sign for him to enter through the roof. He tries to quietly grasp the knob and open the hatch.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31

GM Coyote |

How about you give me a bluff check?

GM Coyote |

Elsa hears a bit of movement from behind the door and a slot opens up, roughly at eye level. A pair of eyes can be seen peering out from behind it and a voice says, "Hm, guess the bakery crew must've sent someone else to give this month's report. Give me a second."
After about a minute of locks being unlocked and chains being undone, the party sees a small, pale human dressed in dark clothes. "Alright, follow me."

GM Coyote |

Kristleifur reaches for the knob and twists. For a moment, nothing happens, before he feels electricity beginning to arc through him.
Down below, the man’s eyes suddenly dart to the roof. He begins to breathe heavily and he says, ”What the...Who activated the alarm?” His eyes then lock onto the group at the door and he says in a voice full of anger, ”Did you do this? Are you out to get me?”
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4) = 10
Didn’t notice the post where you twisted the knob. That complicates things slightly. Kris, you’ll take 10 electricity with a reflex save for half.

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
What's the save DC? 19 or under?
HP 15/25 if save DC is 19 or under.
Kristleifur is startled by the sudden jolt, looks at Zyrel, then pulls out his various tools and tries to disable the trap.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 11 + 2 = 30

GM Coyote |

Able to jerk his hand back just in time, Kris avoids the worst of the electricity. The trap seems to be inactive, but Kris is fairly sure he can make sure it doesn’t trigger again. Twisting the knob again does nothing noticeable.

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Kristleifur opens the hatch quietly and slips into the building, rifle first.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17

Erick Bonestihl |

Erik grumbles. "If I was out to get you, I'd have blown your head off when you opened the damn peek hole, you idiot."[/b] He looks behind him. "Must be someone out there waiting for us to make contact..."[/b]
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

GM Coyote |

Apologies for not being clearer Kris, the knob does nothing. It’s not connected to a hatch. As far as Kris can tell, it was a trapped decoy.

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Ah.
Frustrated by the painful decoy, Kris starts to make his way to the other side of the roof, seeking open windows at the other side to climb down into.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

GM Coyote |

The man nods and scowls before saying, "Yes...perhaps. Quickly, get inside." He starts heading in and motions for the party to follow."[/b]
Meanwhile, as Kris creeps down to the other side of the building he notices something odd on the otherwise featureless face of the wall. There are three small indents in the wall, surrounded by a nearly imperceptible seam around three feet by three feet wide.

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Kris clambers down to near the indentations, eager to fiddle with them.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Disable Device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

GM Coyote |

Kris messes around with the indentations for a moment, before he realizes there are minuscule buttons within the indentations. Pressing them in causes the panel of the wall to slide inward about a foot and a half, giving enough space for someone to wriggle through.
Other people following Elsa?

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Kris waves down Zyrel, just before he tries to slip in.

Other people following Elsa?
I got the impression Erick did. At least I hope so.

GM Coyote |

The inside of the building is fairly dark, and as Brinagar leads Elsa, Erick, and Armanus through it, they see an array of dangerous looking traps, primed to spring. As they get to the second floor they see a large panel in the wall has slid inward, with light spilling in from outside. Framed by the light are the forms of Kris and Zyrel. In the blink of an eye, Brinagar produces a pistol and a dagger and says, ”Explain yourselves, or I shoot.”

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Kristleifur has his rifle in his hands. With a glint in his eyes, he replies:
"Put that away or *I'll* shoot."

Zyrel |

Zyrel readies himself, studying the target and the lines of probability that radiate from here - and his bow trained on Elsa.
If it comes to a fight...

Standard: Shoot! 14 + 6 + 1 = 21 - possibly with penalty damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10

GM Coyote |

He shouts, "You aren't taking me that easily!"
With that, he pulls the trigger on his pistol, firing at Kris!
The bullet strikes the small man, dealing 9 points of damage.
Almost faster than should be possible, Zyrel fires an arrow, but it flies over Bringar's head.

Alright, combat! The map is fairly small, as you're all in a hallway. We'll say that Elsa, Erick, Armanus, and Brinagar are all in a clump together, and Kris and Zyrel are about ten feet down the hallway. That said, Erick and Kristleifur are up, as Zyrel already posted his action.

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

As soon as the man fires, Kristleifur whoops as he does likewise! Then yells as he is hit! Then whoops some more as he jogs for cover!

GM Coyote |

Bumping for Erick.

GM Coyote |

Erick will delay. The sorcerers are up!

GM Coyote |

Apologies for the delay. I’ll have Brinagar’s actions up tomorrow.

GM Coyote |

Brinagar grunts as the bullet hits him, followed by the arcane missles, but stays standingz
Brinagar lines up another shot on Kristleifr and fires. He misses badly.
Party is up!
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Kristleifur Ehrenskiöld |

Kristleifur jogs and leaps up onto crates, seeking cover, before he turns and shoots!

Zyrel |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Zyrel looks into the lines of probability as bullets zip past him.
With a sigh and a heavy heart he follows the line that doesn't lead to him getting hit.
Dropping his bow - and wincing a little as it falls to the floor - he steps forward, the curved elven blade on his back singing as it whips from its sheath. Zyrel leaps forward, the momentum of his move adding to the leverage from the downward strike

GM Coyote |

Between the magic missles, Kris’ rifle, and a mighty blow from Zyrel, Brinagar falls to the ground, unconscious.
