Ignatius casts Grease DC14,on the the floor beneath the two hellknights in front of Harkon.(D6-7). He then fishes out a potion of CLW in case he needs it.

Lyall takes an attack of opportunity against the hellknight as he stands.

He then digs a potion out of his belt pouch, letting the hellknight take an attack of opportunity against him as he leans down and delivers the potion to Kareta.

Lyall swings at the Hellknight as he stands, but is no more successful at hitting the human than the human is at hitting Lyall. He then grabs a potion and crouches down to dribble the clear fluid between Kareta's lips, causing a shudder to run through her body.

Ignatius turns and casts another spell, coating the floor underneath the two front Hellknights in slime. Both of them go down hard.

Janiven leans out and lets fly at the Hellknight at the rear of the second group, piercing his leg with her arrow. He seems as unphased as his opposite number from the first group. Morosino bursts into view again, stabbing at the knee of the same Hellknight, but his dagger scrapes off the man's armor.

Yes, Harkon was facing the other way and was preocupied by the incoming threat, so he has not noticed Kareta has being incapacitated. Also I thought she plunged under the surface...
Good thing she has been stabilised and at least partly healed by the poition as casting Stabilise right now could be disastrous for Harkon.

Harkon swings his warhammer trying to hit the fallen Hellknight.

Thanks! Kareta says as she pulls another potion from her own belt. She quickly bolts it down and stands ready, resolving not to be so impetuous in the future.

Taking a five-foot step away if possible, otherwise risk the AoO.

As a note, by my calculation Auriona is at 0 so staggered and about to lose consciousness.

Well in that case she should probably drink one of her potions of CLWs.


Said calculation sounds about right, so you have a move action or a standard action. It's a move to retrieve the potion, but that won't let you use it this turn, and you still have bleed damage going on. Alternately, you can try to use the Heal skill on yourself to stop the bleeding, DC 15.

As Kareta quaffs another potion, Auriona drops her bow in order the bind her bleeding fingers. As she tears a strip of fabric from her shirt and wraps it tightly around her hand, the blood loss finally manages to overcome her, and she sinks to the floor.

A dozen feet away, Harkon swings his hammer down at the fallen Hellknight. The hammer glances off the man's chest-piece as he flails, and the hit doesn't sound quite like it should against a metal surface.

The first Hellknight swings his sword at Lyall, but doesn't manage to connect at all. The one Harkon tried to hit doesn't manage to regain his feet, while his companion stands and moves to assist the crossbowman being attacked by Morosino. The crossbowman tries to shoot Harkon, but can't aim well past his companion. Morosino stabs at his thigh as he does so, but the man's chainmail deflects the blow.

Hey, all. Sorry for the delay. Crazy few days.

Lyall swipes at the Hellknight, ripping open several furrows across his face. He screams in response.

Ignatius pours a potion down Auriona's throat, reviving her, then grabs another one.

Janiven launches an arrow at Harkon's opponent, but the arrow skips off his shoulder plate. Morosino slashes at the crossbowman, but his angle doesn't allow him to connect with any vital areas.

Gah! Something got mixed up. Yes, he provoked and was struck accordingly, and did not complete the standing action.

Made a goof in my last post. As the Hellknight in front of Harkon struggled to stand, he failed to complete that action; said failure was mostly due to Harkon smacking his head into the ground with a large-ish hammer.

Auriona, shooting at whom?

Kareta shuffles forward and swings with both ends of her strange weapon at the original Hellknight, but neither of her attacks manage to strike him.

Auriona lets fly an arrow past Harkon toward the two Hellknights menacing Morosino, and manages to strike one in the back.

Harkon brings his hammer slamming down on the Hellknight in front of him, bringing the man that much closer to insensibility.

The Hellknight fighting Kareta and Lyall slashes at Lyall, but doesn't connect as he tries to avoid Kareta's attack from below. Harkon's opponent manages to regain his feet and aims a swipe at the Dwarf with no success. The Hellknight with an arrow in his back swings at Morosino, but the boy manages to duck under the sewage in time to avoid decapitation. The crossbowman fires off a shot at Janiven, striking her in the arm.

Poked by a sharpness, the thread puffs itself up in an attempt to scare away the predator!

Lyall's claws slash empty air as Ignatius's acid blob sizzles harmlessly against the wall.

Janiven lets fly at one of the two Hellknights trying to kill Morosino, but all she does is succeed in distracting one of them as Morosino hamstrings him, cutting both his legs to the bone. The crossbowman drops.

Kareta's weapon hooks around, punching through the Hellknight's leg. He drops, screaming.

Auriona fires at the same Hellknight but misses, while Harkon takes up a ready posture.

The remaining Hellknight attacks Morosino with his sword, but doesn't comes near his target.

As Lyall moves to engage the one remaining Hellknight, Ignatius hurls a blob of acid at the man's face. It flies past the man's shoulder as he dodges, but that distraction is enough to allow Janiven's arrow to pierce his chest and Morosino's dagger to cut his hamstrings, and he collapses to the floor in a crash of chainmail.

From back the way you came, you can hear faint voices echoing down the passage.

Kareta carefully makes her way over to the fallen Armigers and retrieves her axe, taking the opportunity to relieve the fallen fighter of his own weapons. Looks like now would be a good time to get out of here. She turns to Janiven, So which way now?


Leaping back to the near side of the sewer, Janiven scouts around before finding the scuffed remains of a marker. "This way ... I think? But we can't wait around. We have to move!" She begins to head down the right-hand passage.

Perception DC 15:
Janiven misread the sign, and the symbol in fact points toward the left-hand passage where she spent most of the fight.

Janiven turns and follows the lead of the group. Several minutes travel, and a number of twists and turns, brings the group to a short stretch of tunnel with a door halfway down one side. Around the next corner is visible the edge of another door.

Harkon:
In searching the Hellknight, you discover something interesting. Even though the armor he wears appears to be proper Hellknight plate, the "plates" are made of boiled leather formed into the traditional lines and fastened to a chainmail backing. The armor offers no additional protection above common chainmail. You also find a single potion that matches the ones you were given by Janiven.

Kareta:
In relieving the Hellknight of his weapons, you acquire a longsword, a light crossbow, a dozen bolts, and a potion that matches the ones you were given by Janiven.

"One or the other or else straight through," Kareta says softly, a line from her father's performance coming unbidden to her lips. "the choice is not clear, but still up to you..." She shakes her head, banishing the errant thought. Or is it?

"When we were exploring the sewers to put down the trail of markers, we passed by a number of doors. Some of them are store rooms, some are cesspits, and some doors led into other passages. Some have been turned into squats by folk on the run, some into stashes for stolen goods."
