Runt watched the battle unfold with great interest, she ahd initially remained out of the battle because it had been said that the man needed to be removed from the room but not KILLED and it was quite a difficult task for Runt to restrain herself enough to avoid killing, however things proceeded to escalate faster and faster until finally the offending OrcPriest lay in a smoking heap a victim of the ratwomans fire magic and a vicious assault by the OTHER Runt, Tigerwolf.

Tigerwolf had just before the fight brought up a rather interesting prospect, one that Runt herself had never really thought on much. She could have a new name in the clan, she did not NEED to be the Runt any longer if the others chose not to call her such, Tigerwolf had done just that so why not herself.. She would need to talk with Tigerwolf about that if an opportunity to do so showed itself, see how Tigerwolf had gotten her new name.

While some of the others such as Greez were inching away from the smoking remains of the priest Runt found herself taking a deep breath to enjoy the scent. As she enjoyed the smell of cooked food Bloud called for some to enter the now open doorway he was indicating, not sure if this was a call for specific people or not Rutn decided to try her luck and followed along, at worst she would be told to stay back. She would do her best to stay near Tigerwolf who held the clearly important human prisoner in case the fool made a run for it.

You enter into the great hall. Its center is dominated by a large bonfire, and it causes shadows to dance. As you advance you see many leaders and representatives of leaders present, sitting. On a throne carved from the skull of a great wyrm dragon sits the great chief. He is tall,6 and a half feet, wearing blood coloured chainmail, and a helmut stylised like a dragon. A battle axe sits beside, its magic chilling the air arougd it.

His name is Brak Chillaxe. He has lead the wolftooth for ten years, through war and peace. That he is wearing armor to a council means one thing. War.

The nightguard ring the room, and one stands at his side, their leader Sartak Firehand. On his other side is Hartok Warspeaker, high priest of the warlord god. Seated before the king in a semi circle is the council.

the members are

yethric, speaker for the hag

grelock, high priest of zoran

nilla, priestest of norax, death sister and healer

bestor truth singer, priest of lytor, god of bards, sits there with journal out and quill in hand. He is the court historian

Ashe, sub lord of the Tal kieng, representing the tal kieng warlord. A hobgoblin of great renown, his blade was made of adamatium, and sharp enough to slice air in two.

Krelle Deathchild, supposibly a child of a death god. No one knows which, except it is not zoran. His falchion, which is drawn is hissing as blood curdles on it.

back in the darkness are seated sub chiefs of the wolftooth, plus ambassadors.

In the center of the floor is a pool of blood

Master creath, a kobold from the temple of the dragon roar, a monk of great skill and cunning. He sides there, with a walking stick at his side.

Well, you old wolf

Well, great chief, they looked like they could handle it, and they did. Priest acted foolishly. Besides it was over in a few seconds. Besides I wanted see how they were in a real fight.

The great chief stirred slightly. And how did they do?

I think perhaps I should withdraw from the game. We're obviously going to bump heads. I don't like house rules sprung on people after the fact, like the whole 'I am not going to follow the rules about perception and you are sneak attacked flat footed because you didn't ask for a perception roll or take extra special measures', and I'm not really here to be verbally abused in and out of character being told my character, who's the smartest in the room, is stupid for not knowing the house rules, and for not bowing and scraping and snivveling in character. Thanks anyway, enjoy the game.

Oddly enough you have never heard of him worshipping any god, which might indicate something. You will need to find out more. You could do this by gather information, access to a good library (get a reroll with a plus 2), or something else you may think of. The stories say he doesn't suffer fools or those who pry uopn his business, so discretion is called for.

If you have already failed at a Knowledge check, you may consult with your ancestors and make another attempt / And An Augury: The base chance for receiving a meaningful reply is 70% + 1% per caster level, to a maximum of 90%; this roll is made secretly. A question may be so straightforward that a successful result is automatic, or so vague as to have no chance of success. If the augury succeeds, you get one of four results. Dergosh steps forward and kneels, blood-stained mace held out with both hands in offering, head bowed. He suppresses a grin at the sight of the Chief’s war regalia and what it surely means. He begins to speak in a “normal” voice, but his volume increases as he goes along recounting the mission.

“Great Chief, Wise Council, Honored Wolftooth clan members: We rode the wolves to the edge of the Wolftooth lands as the scout told us—except for Odak who is too big and heavy. Would probably break wolf’s back if he got on anyway, so much armor, is heavy but also makes great noise…” Dergosh starts to wander off story before catching himself. “Find a bunch of scrawny humans there creeping into Wolftooth lands like goblin swine, but they are no match for Wolftooth warriors. Humans soiled their loincloths at first hearing of Dergosh, Odak knocked them over, Draxia used scary good magic, and Tiger Runt conks scrawny human leader and ties him up. Oh, and Heart Singer makes the irritating bits between noise at them too.”

The orc cleric scratches his burned scalp with his mace distractedly as he thinks. “Scrawny humans say they come from little town, some wizard tells them to take Wolftooth lands. Wizard puts spell on the humans not to talk, but Tiger Runt gets some information from him anyway.”

“Scrawny human-town isn’t too far away. Probably Odak and I can go kill all the softskins there by ourselves…if Great Chief wants others to go with us too, well, we don’t want to hog all the fun ourselves.”

The great chief nods to dergosh, well spoken dergosh. So this is the human he points at the human held by odak.

Yethric, what do you think? This seems like hag business Brak looks at the witch. She advances and looks at him, her eyes glowing as she examines the human. For half a minure she stares, the human squirming to avoid her gaze.

In a voice, rasping like sand on rocks, she says Yessss. He is enchanted. It compels loyalty, but also acts as...a scying focus!

Suddenly she casts a spell, and her two apprentices likewise start a cast. All the nightguard draw their blades as do much of the council. The only ones who stay unmoved are the great chief and master creath.

The chief speaks Calm and the room grows quiets except fot the chanting of the three arcanists, and the click of master creath's walking stick as he moves over beside the witch, watching carefully.

Female Orc

Then with a snap, silence falls. The human falls limp. Yethric turns to the chief and says He was watching. Powerful he is, and cunning. But I have broken the link. I could learn much by studying this human. Can I have him?

Master creath holds up a hand and says, Great chief, before a decision you make, the young one here has a claim too the human, hmmm, yes. He raises his stick and points at Tigerwolf.

Tigerwolf thanks Odak with a nod and looks at the Chief saluting and kneeling.

"Chieftain, Dergosh's words hold some truths." She watched the hags work and looked at the chieftain. "I shall wait on them to be done before reporting more."

Once they were done she looked at Master Creath and nodded. "I have claimed him as property as the one who defeated him and landed he killing blow on a couple of others. Plus, the information he was able to give, I got from him and clued the others in that some enchantment was on him. If I had not chosen to spare his life we would not have had the insight we do now. Though it has revealed to this wizard more, I was not informed it was a way to scry but I take responsibility." She shifts her words not coming out hesitantly. "But even though he has seen us, he has revealed much to us in the process."

Female Orc

The great Chief speaks
I think the question is irrelevant right now. Creath, Yethric, talk to them after to determine the disposition of the human. So the humans spy on us. The proposed missions becomes more important.

Younglings, Wolflings and allies. You have all proven yourself in combat, during the last war, and just now. We, the council, have two tasks for you. These tasks must be completed as quickly as possible so you must divide into two groups.

These are the missions. First. About four years ago, a group of humans and others set up a mission they call the Bridgette River mission. A nest of spies and corrupters we say. They must be cleared. You may use whatever method you wish, provided that they are gone from the savage hills

Yethric whispers to the chief, and he adds also examine the missionaries for signs of this enchantment this human has. If they have it, capture them and bring them here

The second mission is simpler but as important. You must go to the Rock eye kobold village. They have a large supply of goblin oil and bombs. You must acquire these for the war effort. There is a difficulty. We have recently lost contact with them. Find out why the contact has been lost, and get those supplies

He turns to look at the party. you will need supplies. Blound, give them their reward for good service, so they can equip themselves.

now go.

Tigerwolf nodded listening to the missions and pulled out the medal. "Does this mean anything to any of you. It looked like a medal of rank but I wanted to make sure." She held it up so it could be seen.

Tigerwolf wanted to see who would volunteer for which mission. She figured the larger would go with the mission due to the possible cramped quarters of the kobold village.

It seemed they would break out in teams elsewhere.

Female Orc

Once you are out of the tent, Blound give each of you a sack. In each sack is 3000gp. You also have earned 500 XP. It is an hour to dawn. The market is open at this moment, so you can spend your wealth. If your characters wish to do something or talk to someone, feel free, and I'll set it up.

OK decision time. Which adventure do you wish to go on. Either mission one, mission two, or let it be decided for you. We will want roughly equal groups. I will set up two new campaign tables for each game. Odak, tiger wolf, dergosh if you want to run one could you PM me. I would like to run the bridgette river mission as I have already designed much of it, but the second game is conceptual right now. I will design random encounter tables for the region tomorrow. Play starts Monday, EST
