"Umm.. ok?" is Tettia's response when it's indicated that the group is entering the water. "I think I'm going to have improve my rain avoidance spell," she says, looking down at her bag that sits in the bottom of the boat.

Her eyes scan the horizon in all directions. "I guess no one is going to steal it here, right Wallace?"

She takes a deep breath. "I don't even have my swimming dress on."

She closes her eyes and holds her nose before stepping off the edge of the boat and into the water.

"Oh, they don't look happy to see us."

"You do not need to wear a dress because of us," Aurelian informs Tettia as she dithers over her swimming garb, but shrugs as she enters with her clothing on.

Once the sahuagin are spotted, the swordsman kicks himself forward, blade springing into his hand as he prepares for an attack.

Swim 10 ft. forward, staying next to Ashlyn. Ready an attack if they get within range, and then also a parry and riposte if I'm attacked.

Sarine casts a Shield spell before swimming forward while holding her greatsword ready. "Come get us vermin. We'll show you our fangs," she growls. The sound comes out odd as she is unused to speaking in the water.

AC 23 at the moment. I don't see a map so I haven't moved Sarine's mini, but 10' toward the enemy is the intent.

Sorry to hold us up! Busy work week.

Jenner winces as he sees sahuagin incoming through the gloom. His voice burbles through the water as he calls out: "Abadar aid our strikes! It's for good trade, Abadar-- promise!"

Std to cast bless on party, attempt a swim check as a move

Tettia sends a blast through the water, striking one of the sahuagin, who seems to have a somewhat offended look on its scaly face. Ashlyn's ghostly trident achieves nothing, but Elizar smashes one of the sahuagin in the face and spraying blood through the water. The scouts kick forward, gliding easily through the water to surround Elizar and pummel him with their spears as the one he hit seems to go into some sort of frenzy, thrashing in the water and attempting to tear Elizar apart with his teeth and claws!and with considerable speed as their spear are thrust towards the adventurers.

"Elizar!" Ashlyn shrieks. She shudders, as if in pain without him, while her trident magically thrusts itself at the nearest sahuagin.

Ashlyn shakes her head, as if trying to come to her senses, and casts a spell on her hands, causing them to glow with an ominous black aura. Casting chill touch and holding the charge.

"What are we doing? They're trying to kill us!" she mutters to herself.

With mystic words, she points her hand in the direction of the enemy she hit the first time. Two more bolts of force strike him.

"Do not worry, Ashlyn!" Aurelian tries to soothe her as the ghost dies. "You still have Aurelian Fache and he will be more virile as the man inside you."

Seeing Sarine choosing to hold her ground, he nods.

"He got too far ahead. Stay close, and we shall let them come to us!"

Move action? Swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 I'd like to be in front of the group, hopefully next to Sarine, so we form a shield effectively in front of Ashlyn and Tettia. Not sure if a roll is needed, but figured it can't hurt

Ashlyn, not getting Aurelian's insinuations at all since Elizar is no longer around to explain it to her, nods her head. "Right! Okay! We've got this."

"Fraid so, Tettia," Jenner grunted. "That's a sight too common here. You're doing fine, though. Just stay back from the front..."

Standard action to invoke defense blessing on himself, swift to cast divine favor on himself, move to attempt a swim check to keep up with the rest of the front line, axe drawn as he goes.

Swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

AC should now be 21 against the sahuagin, as they are aquatic-type. Bless is up on the party from last turn. Are we using that ship map, or theatre of the mind? Not sure where I am in relation to how far out the sahuagin are.

The sahuagin accept the parties challenge and come eeling in. Sarine's difficulty swimming prevents her getting in position for a blow, but Aurelian is ready and thrusts out with his rapier, neatly skewering the sahuagin Elizar had previously wounded and slaying him in a single hit, leaving the sahuagin demoralized.

Aurelian then catches the sahuagins spear on his blade, bats it aside and skewers the sharkman through the eye - racking up his second kill in as many moments. Crit confirms, regain your panache!

Sarine, still struggling, is less lucky and takes a trident blow to the leg, causing a fresh spurt of blood to darken the water. The two remaining sahuagin seem energised by this! 8 damage Sarine.

Aurelian, Sarine and Jenner are all in melee range. Tettia and Ashlyn need to make a swim check if they want to close for combat.

Then she punches one in the face! (She has the feat aquatic combatant, she takes no penalties for attacking with unarmed strikes underwater, and deals full damage with them.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 (If she hits she used one of her chill touch attacks with it, if not she continues to hold the charge).

Perhaps Jenner will answer Tettia's confusion, if they all live through this. "Keep an eye out for sharks," he calls to the others. "There's blood, after all..."

Tettia's magic bolts and Ashlyn's enchanted fist do for one of the sahuagin and Sarine, lashing out in a blur of strikes, cuts the remaining creature in half.

Blood disperses through the water as the heroes take stock of their situation. The sunken ship lies ahead and, so far at least, it seems that no-one else has noticed their arrival.

"Well done! Let's not dally, we want away from that blood before it draws sharks, aye? If they've got gear worth taking we can come back for it." Jenner calls out, the strange water-breathing spell making it possible to do so. "Is anyone hurt?"

Jenner starts kicking away from the drifting sahuagin bodies, and their blood clouding the water.

"S-S-Sharks?" Tettia stammers out as her eyes go wide and she begins scanning the distance expecting to see multi-toothed predators in every direction.

As Aurelian swims off with Ashlyn at his side, she mutters to herself, "Sure, leave me by myself 'cause I know how to fight sharks."

*Burrruup!*

"No, I do not think he's handsome. He's just ... oh, nevermind!"

Tettia begins swimming towards the wrecked ship.

"Nope... I'm fine. Thanks, Jenner." Ashlyn remarks sadly -- clearly missing Elizar.

"Alright, Aurelian. But careful not to touch my hands!" Ashlyn warns, holding up her clearly ensorcelled hands that billow with ominous black energy. "It'll hurt. And sap your strength." With a smile, Ashlyn swims ahead with Aurelian.

Note: Someone needs to fetch the everburning torch that Elizar 'dropped' and is floating back up to the surface. You're welcome to slip it into Ashlyn's belt or something for her, but she can't touch it herself with her hands until she discharges the rest of her chill touch attacks.

"I could use a little patching up," Sarine calls out to Jenner before following the other swimmers. "These creatures are vicious. We should be careful."


Approaching the ship through the dark water it becomes apparent that it is in two distinct pieces.

The southern part holds nothing of interest but is relatively enclosed and makes a good place for the group to huddle and sort strategy, before pressing on.

Tokens now on map, the section you're in now is clear.

And just to clarify; Yes, Tettia has three potions of CLW. They're in her backpack with all the rest of her possessions that she didn't want to get wet. Which she left up in the boat. :)

Since air bubble seems thoroughly unneeded what with their water breathing spell, Jenner cheerfully converts it to healing on Sarine.

Jenner gazes nonplussed at the weak spell, but shrugs. "Well, it's better than you were, anyway," he offers. "I'm ready to head on in, we still have Abadar's blessing on us, let's make the most of it!"

"Ah, well, not sure these fellows pay rent, Miss Tettia," Jenner chuckles. "So we're the eviction, as it were."

Ashlyn raises her hands up out of the way and sticks her hip out to Sarine. "I've got a potion in my belt pouch if you want. This one right HERE." She waggles her hip at Sarine some more. "Three of them. But I can't get it out right this second." She wiggles her ominously ensorcelled fingers for emphasis. "You'll have to help yourself unless someone else can lend a hand?" Without meaning to she casts a glance at Aurelian and blushes. Then she returns her gaze back to Sarine to see if her pal wants to fish around for a potion.

"It's alright. Jenner's help was enough for now. I'm ready: let's go get them," Sarine says. "Just be careful not to be separated. We saw what happened to Elizar."

When the rest of the group is ready, Sarine swims forward.

Swimming boldly ahead the group crosses the short patch of water until they can see into the ruined prow of the ship.

Ahead of them appears an altar, built of driftwood and seaweed with a leering demonic head hanging from the side of the ship. Four sahuagin are facing the altar while a fifth seems to be leading them in some sort of ritual. He is the first to see the invaders but the other turn at a moments notice.

Only two have weapons but they seem determined enough none the less!

Initiative:

Seeing the sahuagin bunched up in worship, Tettia attempts a spell she's used before. Although, she's not entirely sure what will happen underwater.

I think Aurelian should be up too; he has +2 to initiative as long as he has 1 point of panache (which he so far always has, I think). That would put him at 17 and his Dex is better than the normal sahuagins'. I'll post, but ignore if he shouldn't be going.

Not wanting to end up dead like Elizar -- though he's certain he could take six of these creatures; after all, hadn't he bested similar odds in the training ring -- Aurelian holds his ground, making sure he's in front of his companions.

"Leave this place at once, or come to Aurelian Fache and he will make you leave, creatures!" he taunts the sahuagin, sword raised and ready.

With Ashlyn and Aurelian holding their ground, and the sahuagin thrashing around in Tettia's spell the battle begins with a whimper rather than a bang.

The sahuagin chieftain slaps one of his warriors around the head and then kicks forward, straight towards Tettia! As he closes however both Aurelian and Sarine lash out!

Sarine cleaves into his flank and, as the creature twists to snarl at her Aurelian thrusts his rapier into the back of its spine! The creature goes still in the water.

The priest seems visibly shocked by this development and shakes both sahuagin violently. One manages to clear his eyes with the priests help but the other continues to thrash and snap!

Jenner whistles, underwater. Don't ask how that works. "Nicely done, all of you. Clever trick with that golden stuff, Tettia."

+6 if that's a swim check, +9 if it's an attack versus a sahuagin, he's trying to go for the blinded one

Tettia claps her hands in excitement when her spell manifests exactly how it was supposed to. But when she sees one of the sahuagin attempt to charge her, her eyes go wide.

"Thank you!" she calls out when Sarine and Aurelian intercept it with steel.

She blushes but doesn't respond when Jenner praises her spell. Feeling a little vulnerable, she takes a moment to cast some defensive magic.
