Just got home and caught up.
Alethiro maintained his hold on Celine, Hmph, kind of reminds me of Elsa.
"Ouch! Celine, no! No biting. Now stop it." The little girl had suddenly become a little ball of fury, but the Cleric managed to still hold her.
Ammon Safar
"Well first of all, I would like to see what kind of warrior you are. If you'll hand your shield to one of your companions, I want you to show me how you normally fight," He gestured at two of the training dummies, "Against them of course."
Celine Milocathe
Shocked a little by his tone she sort of jerks up, removing her teeth from his arm as she does so. She looks at him for a second as if trying to decide if he really meant it or not. Seeing that he still refused to put her down made her feel something besides angry, she was frustrated too as well as hungry and sleepy.
Her lower lip trembles for a moment before she throws her head back and starts wailing at the top of her voice.
Yulia Stane
Yulia nods. "Sometimes, you have to step in forcefully. Letting someone stew in their moods isn't always the best thing. Sometimes...that's what friends do."
She finishes straightening up her hair. "I'll be at the cafe, if you need me, love."
Yulia gives Drago a quick kiss on the cheek before heading out the door. She sees Rajni, Dillon and the young girl, Juhi, approaching her establishment.
Arista Milocathe
Seeing that things were quickly becoming slightly unraveled and not wanting him to feel too overwhelmed by Celine's behavior she decides to step in only slightly.
Staying out of Celine's line of sight and keeping her voice soft so that only her husband can hear her she says, "Tell her that if she wants something, or wants to talk to you that she needs to stop crying and use her words like a big girl. You're doing really well honey, just don't give in to her fit." She relays to him as she tries to offer some support.
Drago Zakharov
"Alright, I might be by later," Drago responded with a very light playful pat on her rear.
Celine Milocathe
After getting herself so worked up it takes a few minutes for daddy's words to sink in. She continues to cry but decreases in volume. After everything she dealt with stupid Derick this morning and then jumping on the bed and then not being allowed to jump on the bed and her resulting fit....she was just suddenly really tired.
Her body goes limp in his arms as she shudders while trying to regain some control. The cries reduce to whimpers as she sucks in one breath after another until she starts hiccuping. Sticking her thumb in her mouth she just hiccups around it, her eyes red and swollen from crying she sniffles as she lays her head on his shoulder and finally starts to get quiet.
Arista Milocathe
Arista lets out a sigh of relief before going back to the kitchen to make something for Celine to eat. She wanted to try and get Celine fed and down for her nap before everyone arrived, but she would have her sit at the little table in the kitchen anyways.
Getting out some pasta she gets a pot of water ready before adding the pasta, and in a separate pan she heats up some milk and butter before adding cheese to it. As her sauce is simmering she cuts up an apple for Celine in manageable slices and puts them on a plate.
Once the pasta and cheese sauce is done she drains the pasta and puts it in a bowl before stirring in the cheesy sauce and mixing it up. She sets the bowl with a spoon in it on the little table to let it cool while Alethiro was getting her calmed down.
Rajni
She smiles and gives Yulia a nod, "That's okay, don't rush yourself. We'll be here. Juhi wanted to try something other than Hadrinn's and I told her you have all sorts of good stuff all the time...plus some yummy treat like things too...and the tea." She says as she thinks about the pastries.
Rajni
She thinks for a bit, "What soup are you making today? I might want to try something a little light. Maybe this half sandwich and bowl of soup? That looks good." She says before taking a sip of her tea.
Sādhanā
Raising an eyebrow and stifling a small smile, Sadhana nods, slipping Aroden's shield off of her back and setting it down next between Ylrhea and Celia. Slowly striding over to the training dummies, the magus turns to look at Ammon.
In a blur of motion she spins, her arm sweeping in a vicious arc, even as Oblivion suddenly appears in her hand, the strike the first in a series of hyper-dynamic attacks, delivered from multiple angles as she moves around her targets with her signature style of energetic violence, her strikes accurate despite the speed of her movements.
To an astute observer one would notice her left hand remaining free and unencumbered, occasionally flickering through different gestures or hand positions as she runs attack options through her head.

With her head on his shoulder, Alethiro started rubbing Celine's back, "That's better, now let's see what Mommy made for you."
Lowering her down, and holding her hand, the Cleric walked with his daughter to the kitchen.
Ammon Safar
Ammon observed Sādhanā's movements carefully. Gauging how she distributes her weight as she moved, the speed and ferocity of her attacks, but paid particular note of the gestures of her off hand. Also the fact that her blade seemed to come to her hand without drawing it was something else that didn't add up. Perhaps it's mystical, that would certainly explain the color of the blade.
When the Magus finish, the Catfolk commented, "Very impressive, you quite skilled with that blade. I do have but one question. Those gestures you do with your other hand, do they serve a purpose, or is it just a personal idiosyncrasy?"

They find Arista in the kitchen, calmly mixing something in a bowl. There's a small plate of sliced apples and a glass of milk sitting at the table already.
She had to restrain herself from saying or doing anything. She was really upset at her daughter for the way she behaved, but if she got involved now....the whole point to letting Ally handle it would be lost.

As they get to the kitchen she still sniffles and rubs her eyes with her free hand. She couldn't even remember why she got so mad now.
Seeing mommy act so calm was a little unnerving. She looks up at her daddy before looking at mommy again. Was she gonna say anything. She knew better than to bite, she only did that once or twice with long beard before she started talking and he had given her a spank. She looks at daddy again. At how calm he seems, and even though she did a mean thing to him....he wasn't yelling, and didn't spank her....so.....so they weren't mad at her? Mommy and daddy love me even when I'm bad?
She just stands there for another minute as she's not really sure what to do with this bit of insight. Suddenly feeling very very bad about what she did she starts to cry softly as she turns and wraps her small arms around her daddy's legs. In between her shuddering sobs she says, "I sorry....daddy. Sorry I bite....sorry I bad. I no bite....again daddy. I'm sorry...." She just holds onto him as her little body shakes with the force of emotion going through it.
Sādhanā
"Part of my fighting style is incorporating battle magic into my attacks and defenses. Some spells are protetive in nature, others empower my blade with energy, increase my speed or get me around the battlefield more swiftly. The hand I keep free I use to cast while I fight but I think I should be able to compensate for that while holding a shield." Sādhanā replies.

Managing to free one of his legs, Alethiro knelt down and threw his arms around his little girl, "It's okay Celine, I forgive and love you. Let's get you seated and fed shall we."
Arista Milocathe
Arista just stands with her back to them as she stirs the pasta and the cheese mixture to get it cool enough for Celine to eat.
When Celine starts crying again she holds her breath, afraid they were in for another fit. However, when Celine starts telling her daddy that she's sorry, Arista is almost overwhelmed by her little girls expression of remorse. She really wished sometimes that she could see inside of Celine's head to understand what she was thinking....obviously the little one was far more intelligent and intuitive than she thought possible of one so young.
When she hears Celine refer to herself as "bad", it breaks her heart a little. She didn't want Celine to think she was "bad". She knew their daughter wasn't bad, she just had trouble expressing herself and dealing with really strong emotions.
Arista kept stirring the cheesy concoction she had made and resists the temptation to scoop up Celine and tell her everything was alright. This was between Celine and Alethiro and she had to let them work it out. It was important to Celine and Alethiro that she let Alethiro finish handling the situation. He didn't need her stepping in and undoing everything he just did.
Testing the temperature of the cheesy pasta mixture she quietly goes to the table and sets it down so it's ready for Celine whenever they're done talking. She signals to Alethiro that she's stepping outside for a minute.
Getting outside she leans against a tree and cries. She didn't know why she was crying, she just felt the need to. It had been a pretty stressful morning already and the day wasn't even half over. She sighs as she tries to get herself under control and compose herself before any of the others arrive.
Arista Milocathe
Sorry...^ that took me about thirty minutes to write...but you know, she basically is just having an emotional response and didn't want Celine to think she was mad at her or anything. I think you can say that I go out side once I set her bowl of 'mac n cheese' on the table to give you two time to bond a little while I calm down. Lol
Ammon Safar
Ammon tilted his head as he looked at Sādhanā. It's difficult to tell with his facial scarf, but anyone looking would be fairly certain he's a bit confused. She fights with blade and spell? Effectively? He had never heard of such a thing before, and the Scorched Sons always kept magic separate from warriors. Apart from weapons and armor those of higher rank earned.
"Would you mind demonstrating? I've never seen anyone wield magic as a second weapon before." He asked in a rather curious tone.
Sādhanā
"Why not?" Sādhanā says with a shrug. A small part of her still considered that this could be a ploy to gather information, and if so she wouldn't be tipping her strongest abilities, not by a longshot, but if not it couldn't hurt to give him a little demonstration.
Shifting back into a combat stance, the magus makes an intricate gesture with her free hand as she whirls her blade, her entire body flickering until 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 of her stand before the catfolk warrior. "Defense...."
As the five identical Sādhanās go through an elegant sword form, she utters another incantation, passing her hand along the edge of her sword, the black blade suddenly coated in dripping sizzling acid. "....and offense"
Tesia Stormbringer
She seems thoughtful for a moment, "Yeah....I think so. It's just....I can....I don't know how to explain it without sounding stupid....but hearing the tone in her voice...it's like I'm hearing and feeling other stuff all over again and it's a little overwhelming....but I feel we were put in her path for a reason, so I will put every single thought and feeling aside until I'm sure she's okay." Letting out a sigh she leans her head back against her wife, "She's at least free now and can do whatever she wants with her life." She speaks in a tone that understands exactly what that feels like.
Ammon Safar
Based on their previous conversation, and what little he had seen of magic users, it finally dawned on him why she wanted to learn how to use a shield. "Now I think I understand now. You're wishing to learn how to use a shield for when your magic fails or runs out. I can respect that. Alright, if you'd be so kind as to dismiss your spells and pickup your shield, we can start."
Arista Milocathe
After taking a few minutes to regain her composure and wiping her face to get rid of the tear streaks on it she goes back inside. Smiling at Alethiro and Celine she goes and starts on her biscuit dough so they would be hot and fresh for lunch.
