Gun powder comes to the Disc World with a bang, and then a drawn out murder investigation

Player’s Guide

1 to 50 of 68 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

Final Character Adjustments:

HP: Max hit die for level 1, Roll for subsequent levels, reroll all 1's once.

Bonus Feat: If you are a gunslinger, you get Extra Grit or Weapons Focus. If you are not a gunslinger, you get Exotic Weapon Proficiency in a Firearm/

Bonus Point: You gain bonus skill rank in a skill related to alchemy or engineering.

Beginning of Play:

Play begins at the celebration party for successfully testing gunpowder in firearms. You maybe mingle with the other party members, or Reginald Orthem, the leader of the project. You know everyone in the party at least as much as you would form having worked with them. You can set your own level of knowing for each other party member as you wish.

When all the characters in the party are set, we will advance to the murder.

I'm working on getting my character typed up now. Seeing your final adjustments, I thought I would go ahead and get the rolls for Hit Points out of the way.

Hit Points for Level 2 and 3: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 7) = 10

Would you want a full 3,000 gp for a Adamantine Scrivener's Kit? I was hoping to make his Scrivener's Kit a bit more sturdy so it wouldn't break when he uses it as for his extra curricular purposes via the Rough and Ready trait.

hp 21 AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 9 Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4 Init +2; Senses Perception +9

I believe I am all set as is. This should be fun.

Are you meaning like the knife and ruler as adamantine?

Scrivener's Kit

I was hoping for something along the lines of his pen. It would be used as a subtle way to administer poison. Something probably along the lines of a sleeping agent or drug to take advantage of his clientele. Otherwise, he would prefer to use his words as actually getting into a fight.

You can use the pen; just give it the ammo +60 adamantine cost.

So if I would like a masterwork set of Scrivener's Tools with an Adamantine pen, it will cost me 112 gp? 60 gp for the Adamantine, 50 gp for the masterwork quality, and 2 gp for the Scrivener's Set.

Would you allow me to up the price to 412 to add the +1 for a masterwork weapon to the pen as well? Of course this pen could not effectively be used as an Adamantine weapon to overcome damage reduction. The metal simply prevents it from breaking when used as a stabbing instrument.

Making a +1 pen is a little too much of a stretch. 60 GP does include the masterwork quality already though.

I was not going to push for enchanted. I figure that is beyond his price range as it is. I was thinking more along the line of making the pen well-balanced like a dagger. I figure in the cutthroat world of copy writing, he does his best to use every advantage he can find.

Perhaps once upon a time he was a promising candidate for the guild of assassins or thieves, but one day somebody gave him the advice that one should do that which they love. Words had always been a passion of his and the way it was said to him sunk into the recesses of his being where one said the soul might reside. So taking the skills he had picked up till that point, he went to work at the guild of copywriters.

I like the spirit, still to much of a stretch though.

That's cool. He'll still have a pen he can use more than once at least.

I really enjoyed the concept of him keeping different drugs and poisons in various ink bottles. Something he administers to his clients when he pricks their fingers as he requests they finish the contract with a drop of their blood.

That is a very useful idea. I'd have him stay away from slab though.

But what else is he suppose to use on his troll clientele? Of course that particular bottle would have to be used with particular care.

hp 21 AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 9 Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4 Init +2; Senses Perception +9

I would suggest slide. Always a fun one to give a troll.

Now I feel like I need to a drug reference guide for Discworld. So many things to look into now for this character.

Just say something that starts with "s" and is one syllable and it's probably a troll drug. Slab, slide, slap... etc

Fionna just needs the extra skill point (or rather, one of her current skill points moved out of her clockworks and into something else to make room for the freebie one). I assume this extra skill point is per level, not just one overall?

Actually, it is just one at first level.

She/They Entropic Axiomite Doodler 1/Author 5/Talespinner 7/Ad-Lib Artist 2/Worldbuilder 5

Ah okay. Hmm then just need to decide where to put it. As of now all her most-needed crafting skills are maxed out.

EDIT: Okay skills shuffled. Dwarf is ready to make & break.

Waiting on Captain Fremont and Simony Garfunkel.

Sorry, I always hate figuring out equipment. If you want I can go ahead and put up a post to at least keep us moving as we've not really fallen into the point of needing things rolled.

Waiting on Simony too, who I'm working with outside of the forums to get his character all set.

I don't feel so bad about being busy with out of game stuff and playtest yesterday then =)

hp 21 AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 9 Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4 Init +2; Senses Perception +9

Not a good idea to let me get bored here though. I might catch philosophy or something. Other team seems to be going well.

Haha, if bye well you mean about to find out what happens when a vampire bites a werewolf, or visa versa, yes. I'll drop the action beginning of the quest tonight .

Action quest has dropped. Characters that aren't finished can still RP and finish their characters as they can.

Bah, my computer restarted and wiped the equipment list I was making. One of the parts I hate most about making new characters. I'll go ahead and start roleplaying to keep things moving and I'll have this all done by the end of tomorrow night for sure. I don't have any plans after work tomorrow so there should be no problem with that. Otherwise, I do plan on getting some of it done tonight.

Male Human Rogue (Spy) 3 | HP 5/24 | AC 12 / Touch 12 / Flat-Footed 10 | Fort +2 / Reflex +5 / Will +1 | Init +2 | Perc +7

I hope you don't mind, but here is Rupert in his currently incomplete form. I have taken the liberty of changing some items in terms of their appearance to make them fit more thematically with the character. Such as I'm purchasing a noble outfit and fashioning it as a suit. He does keep a bandoleer on his person that he wears as a belt. He keeps vials of "ink" in it. It is worn in such a fashion that the vials are kept lined up beneath his coat so they are not normally visible to those around him. I also purchased a Masterwork backpack that I hope to refashion as a briefcase. Otherwise, I'm currently working on making his budget work. I plan on giving him a full compliment of ranks in Craft (Alchemy), something that secured his position on the team and allows him to make the drugs and poisons he uses. This being said, will you allow me to purchase the like at the discounted crafting price?

Also, the Mask of Stony Demeanor describers itself as turning the wearer's face into that of a stone statue. Would you say this makes him look like a golem? I might be able to use such a look...

Anything that you can craft easily, a take 15 succeeds the check, you can pay just the crafting price for. A mask of stony demeanor would make your face look like a golem, but your size would not be close to an actual one. The suit and briefcase are fine. I';ll look over the character when you're set.

Male Human Rogue (Spy) 3 | HP 5/24 | AC 12 / Touch 12 / Flat-Footed 10 | Fort +2 / Reflex +5 / Will +1 | Init +2 | Perc +7

I don't ever remember seeing anything on it, are we doing average starting wealth for our cohorts?

I need to know how much Mr. George the Gnome has to outfit himself and Ms. Peatree.

First level wealth PC wealth is fine, if you're using a gnome flyer you can roll the 4d6x10

All players, please put you hp, ac, saves and init in your class box so it shows under your name in the thread.

Male Human Rogue (Spy) 3 | HP 5/24 | AC 12 / Touch 12 / Flat-Footed 10 | Fort +2 / Reflex +5 / Will +1 | Init +2 | Perc +7

Come on big money...

Big Money Roll: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 1) = 11 x 10 = 110

Male Faun
defenses:
AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10.hp 8/22 Fort +0, Ref +4, Will +2

travels amongs the celebratory members, sniffing at everything, smells seemingly distracting him at every step.

A note on cantrips/orisons: These always have a 90% success, 10% failure rate. This is only relevant in combat, as the time lost outisde of combat is a non-factor.

hp 21 AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 9 Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4 Init +2; Senses Perception +9

It seems gremlins ate my last post. Will make a full post in the morning but need some sleep right now.

Hello party players, I will be in and out of consistent internet the next couple of days, so I will likely bit a bit slower in responding.

Male Human Rogue (Spy) 3 | HP 5/24 | AC 12 / Touch 12 / Flat-Footed 10 | Fort +2 / Reflex +5 / Will +1 | Init +2 | Perc +7

Everything okay in here?

Yep, I will return tonight with the Assassin's Guild brief spout of vengeance.

hp 21 AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 9 Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4 Init +2; Senses Perception +9

3 bracers of armor +1
3 climber's kits
3 thieves tools sets (masterwork)

1694.6 gp worth of platinum pieces and jewels

She/They Entropic Axiomite Doodler 1/Author 5/Talespinner 7/Ad-Lib Artist 2/Worldbuilder 5

Fionna has not much interest in most of the gear, though the cat boots might catch her eye once identified, as she falls enough that guaranteeing her landing on her feet is a niiiiiiice thought.

Otherwise she'd be very interested in the gems. Professional interest, you see.

hp 21 AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 9 Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4 Init +2; Senses Perception +9

Gypsumay will be interested in jewels, but as nothing is sized for a troll...

The boots and bracers are wondrous so they will size to you.

hp 21 AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 9 Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4 Init +2; Senses Perception +9

Oh so we aren't going with discworld physics on that.

Nope, too difficult to make that work
