About Wyran the Patient

Character Sheet:

Wyran was born to a noble family in Cheliax, but was not exactly what they had expected. A deal gone wrong with a clever devil, the family had asked for an outsider child; the devil preyed on the family's incompetence as summoners and twisted their words, letting the mother give birth to an Angel-spawn, of all things. It was immediately apparent of his outsider descent, as Wyrans skin shon like polished steel. The family was ashamed, and kept Wyran hidden from the world. Sheltered and presumed to be naive, he frequently snuck out in his rags (which kept him from being identified as a member of his noble family), and quickly learned much about hate and prejudice. The young child waited many years for his chance to slip out of the city; his chance finally came at the age of 15, when he slipped out among a shipment of goods to another city.
Wyran quickly found himself in the city of Magnimar, hungry and alone. Wandering through the streets, the first building that caught his eye was a monastery. As he stood in the street, skin glinting in the early morning, a monk within spied Wyran and quickly ran out into the street and ushered him inside. Wyran learned the monastery was devoted to Irori, the god of knowledge and self-perfection. He quickly became a student there, to prove to himself that he was worth more than a rat in the family cellar.

Over 150 years have passed since Wyran joined the temples ranks, and has been offered numerous times to join the elite order of the faithful of their god, the Champions of Irori. Each time Wyran has passed it over, saying he does not feel ready to accept the invitation yet, and that he has not reached a suitable level of self-perfection yet.

Wyran has struck out on his own to discover some ancient knowledge, long forgotten books, forgotten magics, relics to Irori, SOMETHING to prove to himself and his deity that he is ready to become a Champion of Irori. Wyran finds himself out on the road for the first time in over a century, and quickly finds himself in the middle of a festival in Sandpoint...
