"Great! When do we leave?"
Elaina is just barely not bouncing up and down in anticipation.
Seraph_
Chuckling at Elaina's enthusiasm Seraph looks to Asta then. "Will you come with us Asta or do you wish me to stay here instead? If we are lucky mayhap we can find seedlings and create a grove near here and cultivate darkwood within the settlement. It's a long shot but I have hope." She smiles but ultimately abides by Asta's decision.
Seraph_
Seraph smiles, genuinely pleased to get out and stretch her legs once more. She gives a whistle and is answered by the nickering of Julius. As he rounds the bend she smiles more broadly. "Julius, you appear as ready to leave as myself." She nods to her companions before saying quickly and heading off to get her horse saddled. "I will be ready within the hour to go Milady. Julius is all to eager to get away from the carts and travel once more."
She bows to Pervalish as she thanks him. "This biggun will find a gift to repay you in kind for your help. Look forward to the surprise." She smiles as she walks off to saddle her horse.
I am ready to go! :D
Torod
Torod goes off to get Girty ready. He stocks up on arrows and food.
I'll tell the most respected of the Erastillians, hopefully a member of Asta's circle, that I'll be leaving and ask them to watch over the others.

You head North, into the open plains the plains is mostly grasslands, but near the top corner of the hex....
A dense patch of rare raspberry-like berries known as fangberries grows in a long, thin valley between two low hills here. Much of the thorny thicket is draped in the white gossamer silk of spider webs.
Asta Blackheart
"Nice," Asta says, nodding. "Didn't he claim to have a deranged brother, though? Was he supposed to be somewhere around here or something...?"

Regarding Fanberry thickets-
Gathering enough for one potion or a day’s meal requires 10 minutes of work and a DC 20 Survival check, with failure indicating the forager takes 1d6 points of piercing damage from the plant’s sharp thorns.
Regarding swarms of chew spiders-
The webs that infest the thicket are the product of a swarm of chew spiders—a species of aggressive spider the size of a man’s thumb and with particularly large, serrated fangs. The chew spiders scuttle out to attack anyone who enters the thicket

Seraph nods, adjusting her now enchanted blade across her shoulders as he taps Julius to continue forward. "Noted Milady. Protective clothing for later." She makes a quick note to check into it with Oleg upon there return. She keeps the top of her saddlebag's and her shoulder open in case Tyg or Pervalish need a place to rest.
Torod
"Why later? We're going in that direction already. Let's get some and take them to him. We can also visit Oleg and Svetlana. It's been a while since I've seen them and would love some of her stew."

Mikmek pipes in...."I have no problem with this."
Mikmek starts picking berries fast and furious....the chew spiders head towards him in mass....
Lightning crackles from his jaws and incinerates a bunch of spiders, while his hands keep picking, the strange noise of the thorns scrapping on scales makes your ears hurt....
Looks dangerous.....
Elaina Tirel
"Mikmek, I don't think that's a good idea," Elaina says, almost whines, as she tries to keep the sound from assaulting her ears.
Seraph_
Seraph arcs an eyebrow when she notices Elaina's discomfort. "Are you alright? Do you have a headache?"
Seraph_
"Eh?" Seraphs eyebrows rises as she responds in a surprised way. She wheels Julian around so she can see Elaina. "I don't hear anything but Mikmek's light rustling Elaina. Perhaps you should move further away if it is bothering you." She was very confused by this strange behavior but assumed that perhaps Elaina had contracted something on her outing. She made note to check her later.
Elaina Tirel
"Yeah, I'm fine, it's just the scratching. Are you sure you don't have wool or something in your ears?"
Elaina takes Seraph's advice and moves away some.

In this dense wood South of the Thorn River bandit camp, you find a hollow under a large fallen pine tree, the branches of which have created a natural shelter. Bones litter the ground around this place.

The boar is cunning and larger than any boar you have ever seen!
Strawberry only manages to hit it with a single claw attack and that only resulted in a small scratch that didn't even slow the boar down.
Torod's bolt was never even close, and the boar dodged away from Seraph's attack!

Maybe it is a territorial instinct or perhaps it is just something to do with one animal seeing another as a threat for territory or needing defense. The Boar bears down on Strawberry Deathstrike for another attack!

After this is finished, you head into the hex under the Frog Pond and the Temple of the Elk.....
After Torod consults his map...
The sky has been slowly darkening all day, and the smell of rain has been thick in the air. Now it has finally begun to fall, accompanied by loud peals of thunder that seem to roll across the landscape.
The late-afternoon sun is hidden behind massive stormclouds, and a chill wind blows from the north.
Perlavish begins a tale….
” Long ago, a small but mighty monster kingdom existed in this local wilderness. Bugbear and ogre warriors fought brutal wars of expansion, earning great fame and amassing considerable fortunes from their predations. Those who died in battle were buried in large tomb complexes dug into the hillsides. Among these very woods a few ruins remain and at times an large worked stone with no obvious purpose remains. This monster kingdom, not fey, but the monsterous races existed here, maybe half a century ago this kingdom was of and for monsters, it was this nation that the Walk of the accord vanquished. “
Perlavish notices the dark clouds above,
”It was whispered among the fey that the monster kingdom itself respected the weather, having a temporary peace that abounded to monsters, fey and man alike the storm-peace it was called, some say it is still used by monsters across the lower lands and those within the Hooktongue.”

Storm-peace is assumed to be in effect unless someone specifically rejects it. Even so, whenever two strangers meet during a storm, they often greet one another by asking “Storm-peace?” simply to ensure that the other knows and respects the tradition.

"Interesting," Asta says. "I recall some whispers on this subject from back home. I believe the tradition is, when meeting strangers in neutral territory, to ask for storm-peace during such weather, and unless the request is rejected, it is a cease-fire between whatever creatures share a shelter."
The Witch pulls her cloak closer around her body.
"Do you know any tales of good shelter near here, Perlavish? I don't mind snow, but too much rain is a downer on my day."
