Well the GM just posted on his/her THE SEVEN PRAYERS: SAVE THE PRINCESS! game about 40 mins ago, so he/she is around :)

Spoiler:
Why do we keep using spoiler tags?

Cobalt sits stiffly at the table wondering just how much trouble he'll get into because he was assigned to this group. He pretends like he's reading while switching his gaze between the librarian and the door to the Room of Secrets.

who knows:
Taicho shrugs, pushes the round button on the middle of the doorknob and shuts the door. He follows Isabela back to the table and asks

what now? Hippy Chick

he then begins to hum "purple Haze"

Okay, time to play catch-up with my answers. Hang on, everybody...

By the way, the deadline for recruitment is September 18th.

Any mechanical issues with Aizawa then? I did exchange his spell like ability for flight (20ft poor).

Still working on his story. Apologies for the wait. I have an outline already posted but its kinda bland. Tried to mix his Traits in with his story some. ;)

Thank!

No mechanical problems whatsoever. I'd be glad if you stayed in the recruitment run. ^^

Miss Alice Zallna Mellany

Ok here's my idea, Dhampir daughter of a Vampire new leader of an Hells angel gang. Mother long dead, she has been raised by a wealthy Elf family as there own. She won a scholarship to attend the high school for her gift of Psionics, [Telepathy, right now with some animals v her background], she may have the raw Psionic talent feat as well GM. She knows his dad, and she is trying to do what her adopted Elf parents want and that is be good. But her Vampire dad keeps popping up in to her life and showing her just how much fun being Evil can be.

Would it be ok to play a PC like this GM?

My idea is that she gos Psion Telepth for her levels.

Alas, I am not inclined to use the Psionic elements. When you guys get to choose more advanced classes, it'll be the CR, APG, ACG, UM and UC.

While the concept as such isn't bad (who can resist a Dhampir girl on a Harley?) the Elves are firmly sequestered in Virginia. None of them live in this town, so it would be very difficult to explain your presence there...

Ravalon Lightborn wrote:
GM, do you object to recruitment roleplay? Want to ask before I dive in...

Go right ahead. ^^ Maybe the folks who aren't selected will get together and form a new game out of it, right?

Miss Isabela Calista De Romano wrote:

Also GM can I ask about Fire Arms, are guns Advanced and common.

That is classed as simple weapons and cost 1/10th of the price.

In this time of paranoia, while guns are well-known and even some advanced ones are produced, it is strictly illegal for private citizens to own any. Police and military are currently the only ones being given licenses -- them and the people trusted by the government, ie wealthy backers and politicians. Well, them and some rich hunters.

Miss Isabela Calista De Romano,

Taken the Blood Immemorial Campaign trait as it fits really well with her Vampire half blood background GM.

Also GM can I ask about Fire Arms, are guns Advanced and common.
That is classed as simple weapons and cost 1/10th of the price.

Had a much better idea for a vampire back ground GM.
She is the illegitimate daughter of a Vampire Mob boss from the old country. Things then fit in a lot better, dumping the hells angle idea, no motorbike. Just daddy and the mob.

Looks good, looks good... But might I persuade you to make her a more standard high school age? Standardization being what it is, I'm not sure U.S. school boards would agree with a centenarian attending. ^^

I will get more fluff and crunch together shortly

some quick questions, did the Korean war happen, are we in the Vietnam war? How prevalent are firearms? I assume we all attend (or skip from, depending on inclination) Howard Memorial Highschool. Where is it locations wise, just thinking about accent and where we may have transferred from. Do you know how many levels of expert we will take and once we get to "classes" will you allow archetypes and will you allow more than one archetype assuming they do not contradict each other.

Yes, the Korean War happened, although as mentioned in the initial post, with a twist. Just like in the Vietnam War, the American soldiers are being kept strictly segregated from the locals, and there are (unacknowledged back home) orders to shoot any approaching locals on sight. Only high officers are allowed to interact with locals at all.

Howard Memorial Highschool is located in the North-Central U.S.

I'm not sure how many levels of Expert there will be yet. We'll have to see how it goes.

I will allow archetypes, even multiple ones.

GM_Captain_Wombat wrote:

@Robert Henry, Yep that's a good point, and something I hope it be playing in game. Being a little out of time, like Interview with a vampire.

Setting wise, we do have this from the GM, your Character ... is growing up in a 'civilized' society (a post-industrial one, anyway).

So thinking is high law, one main faith, Tech level 1960s, so cars, Guns, Planes, but yes where there the 2 world wars and the wars that followed, Who's the president, Is there a Space race yet? Did we nuke Japan? What of Cannada and Mexico? If its close to the same, but the US-A is now in full isolation mode, all cool, or did the Nazis win.

OO A German PC, who's dad was....

runs away fast.

Both World Wars happened right on schedule, although again, U.S. troops were kept strictly segregated from locals during engagements. The other wars are also happening on schedule. All the history books say so, and the Nazis did not win.

Japan was duly attacked with a nuclear warhead and surrendered; all the news reels said so.

Canada and Mexico are across the border, and thus people are not allowed to go there.

And just to complicate things I also was wondering a few things.

1st: Are the Olympics something that exist? And if so does the States still send people as a show of national power?

2nd: (Being a slight Japanophile) What happened to Japan after WWII? Did the occupation occur.

3rd: Building off the previous question, what happened to Germany?

Finally, outside of the Olympics is there anything wrong with Amin's background or numbers?

Aizawa:

No problems with the use of culture. It's kind of nice. And yeah people in Japan typically call others by their last name, but yiu've probably been in the states long enough to not be as strict about it...

Yes I was asking whether you coukd speak any, I really need some practice...

Cobalt:

Using them in case the GM or other applicants didn't want recruitment role-playing.

Note to everyone here:
Just a heads up, Be vary carful when talking drug culture of the 60s, the Paizo site rules say users should NOT post about real drugs or there use, you can get the game and yourself band for it. I think we would be ok, if we altered posts to use fake names and types or better still the pathfinder Toxins stuff with the down sides posted as well so as not to promote drug use..[/ooc]

Or you can reference the drugs described in the PFSRD. I think we can safely use 'aether' instead of the average smoked drug of choice during the 60s.

Questions Aasimar - I assume do not have wings correct? Didn't want to add something to his description that was off in any way to what you envisioned. If allowed I have somethign in mind that wouldn't be as overly clunky as big feathery wings. Until later then~

Question 2 By 190 seventy standards a Royal Enfield Mk II in 1970 in great condition (Not new, not excellent and just above fai ;)) was worth around 400-450 dollars. I went for the 450 dollars and got him wheels with a sidecar and a two seater main bike. Granted the side car is for his backpack at the moment...

If this isn't okay let me know.

Question 3 He has an elaborate background with ties to a known Mob in Ney York city. Again if this isn't allowed then let me know. ;)

Question 4 Exchanged Alter Self ability for Fly speed 20 ft. Can drop it for something else I just thought being able to change my face would be a bad thing if someone found out lol. Magic! Witchcraftery~ Burning at the Stakes~

1) According to Blood of Angels, it is possible for Aasimars to have wings (alternate traits). They could be butterfly wings, which you keep deflated when wearing clothes, rather like a newly-hatched butterfly has wings which it needs to fill out before it can fly.

2) Sweet ride! It's totally fine.

3) That's fine. I like a bit of realism. ^^

4) Having Alter Self isn't a problem -- so long as no one in authority catches you using it to break the law. Of course, in this paranoid day and age, it is so easy to convince authority figures that you intend to break the law... ;)

1) Alas, the Olympics have not been held for some time now.

Official histories state that the Olympics have been cancelled indefinitely, awaiting an end to all the wars flaring up.

2) According to the history books, Japan was duly occupied. But again, soldiers returning say they never got to interact with any locals. They just stood guard over locations or were detailed to watch their superiors from a distance (through sniper scopes) while they did all the talking with natives.

3) According to the history books, the same thing happened to Germany that happened on our own Earth Prime; division in East and West et cetera.

I guess we're using spoiler tags to make it easier for GM Quoth to differentiate between the RP stuff and any questions someone might have?

Oh boy:

Hazel can't help but notice as both Isabela and Taco leave the table and head down one of the many isles of books. The Ice Queen is always up to something...sex in the library? No way, she can do a lot better than Taco...

Suddenly she blinks and notices that Aizawa is gone as well. She looks around the library but everyone else seems to be staying put. What the hell are they doing???

Once Isabela and Taco return to the table, Hazel eyes them both suspiciously but says nothing.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Question GM what kind of underground blackmarket does the US have? As while he may want to be a detective of some sorts Zov Vrinn also has no problem being a professional criminal either. Defying the government is perfectly natural to him.

Okay I'll need to work on Amin's background a litle then.

Anything else that looks problematic?

Librarian fun:

Having pulled the librarian's attention and eyes to the front of the library and well away from Taco, Isabela, and the Z section, Amin comments, "Oh, looks like the thugs have moved on, Cobalt doesn't use words unless he absolutely has to...Sorry to bother you Mrs. Kelsey." With this he heads back to the group project table.

At the table he whispers, "I'd recommend not talking around Mrs. Kelsey for a while..."

Family, Gun and Psionics not a problem GM ill be happy to make the changes, thinking summoner maybe for her, Shadow path. Nice and dark.

But would like a clear ruling no age, are you saying ALL races age at human rate's, or that all races have to be with in the adolescent [teen] range for their race. Such as say Aizawa Kakeru being 59 one year under Adult age for Aasimar race so with in the adolescent [teen] range for the race.

Thanks Dm Qouth and appreciate the update. Hard to tell gender on the boards. :)

One last question.

Is having a Military Owned Apartment out of the question o would it be easier to say he lives on base and travels to and from school?

Thanks! Looking forward to who you select~

The Library:

As she emerged from the doorway and gave her orders Aizawa looked up at her over his large book he was reading. "A moment Calista De Romano, it appears you were right, these books and reference cards were very interesting. I am glad you pointed them out to me." He shuts the book then, unsmiling, making his point. "I am not sure what they will add to the report just yet but I am curious if you found anything we can use in our report?" Despite finding out their little plan, he remained polite. He noted the location of the door for his own future investigation, he was always looking for artifacts of his goddess and didn't mind when someone did the work for him.

He followed them back to the table then and took his original seat, opening the book and reading once more as he waited for her answers.

I listed Taicho father’s hobby as hunting and fishing, I’m looking for an easy fit for the culture. First, I will change the hobbies to fishing and trapping: muskrat and such. Along with trapping and fishing is bow hunting or blackpowder hunting less restricted? Also is there a way to “lease” hunting firearms or keep them in a safety deposit box to check in and out. As a lock smith he works regularly with the police, if that would help any. I’m not looking for an excuse to arm Taicho, just a smooth transition to ranger (trapper) if and when it can happen.

Hmmm. no elven PC (just noticed that) they all live in Virginia (where the government is)elven=French (our biggest supporters during the revolution) Maybe the government is ran by the Elves, just saying

The idea for he use of spoilers is so roll playing fun here is clear of GM Questions and [much appreciated] GM feed back. :0)

Back at the table:

She had not stopped as Aizawa talked behind her, then as the Aizawa sits Isabela glances up from her papers with a quizzical look at him.

"Sorry Aizawa, I missed all that what, what where you saying?"

She has a slight smirk on her face.

table talk:

Taicho sits down in his chair and starts flipping through one of the books there.

mr. starchy pants said blah blah blah… gods, let’s get this paper done, and do something else fun…these squares are sooo boring

He says to the group

well hippy chicks and cool cats, since the fireworks are over, who’s going to do what on this paper, I want to blow this popsicle stand, you dig?

The table group:

Isabela, going into her bag and brings out a number of sheets of paper,
handing one to each of the group and leaving some for the others she says.

"I did an outline, all we need is the stuff from
Amin's books added and any other info on magic and history the group has to offer, I already did the chapter on Dark magic in fairy tales."

SM DC-- she knows her Nickneame

Whisper: "I found 5 odd books in the back reference room, but I can't read them. Feel free to go take a peek, Taco's got the lock, just be nice to him and put things back. I've also been thinking, it could be the old bat has stuff in her office as well, anyone think they can get in?"

DM Qouth: Last Question, Aasimar ages mean they hit adulthood at 60 so Aizawa is 59 years old for obvious reasons. If you want me to DM fiat his age a bit and change the official adulthood minimum thats fine by me. :)

The Table group:

Sense Motive - Just because :P: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

He refrains from grimacing as she says his first name, he doesn't correct her though. AS that would be a waste of time. "I was thanking you for your help, Milady Calista De Ramano, you've provided me with some interesting information I can use. Again, thanks." He doesn't share her smirk, his slight jab at learning her title amused him but he din't show it, instead his ears flick ever so slightly.

Bluff - Would he actually use this knowledge to his advantage?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

He opens up his book and starts reading again as a mental distraction. "I made notes on magic throughout recent history, punishments and torture implemented by the Inquisition and the possible use of dark magic in the Military between the 18 to the 19 century."

Whisper: "Your little game was noticeable the moment I walked in, so try and be specific before you get caught. Now, What are you looking for exactly?"

Successful bluff check:

He's only trying to get a rise out of the now formally dubbed Ice Queen, he wouldn't waste his time...

The table:

Whisper: "noticeable only to those in the room Aizawa, only to those in the room and my game is never little. You know if I did not know better I would say you had a crush on me. The way you follow me around."

Again the smirk.

The Table:

He chuckles coldly about half way through her little speech. He looks away from the book and rests his chin on his left hands blackened knuckles as he looks directly at her for once. His iridescent eyes shift colors, turning from a glacial blue to a deep red. He smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes. "I'm not that desperate and you aren't that lucky. I appreciate the good laugh. So quit deflecting and consider the librarian probably stored whatever you're looking for at her house."

table:

Taicho stops humming and slides the outline near so he can read it, his ears perk up as he hears his name mentioned, he listens as they flirt and talk about a job at the librarians house

what does the librarian have at her house that Kakeru would want

Taicho not caring that Aizawa Kakeru is close enough to hear whispers

Isabela this task was mutually beneficial and mutually dangerous to both of us, dig. Captain Starch there doesn’t have much to offer other than …

he makes a gesture in the shape of a square with his index claws fingers

If HE wants my assistance I’m gonna need a whole lot more dirt than I’m seeing now, you dig. You and me are cool but Aizawa Kakeru is too squeaky clean, I don’t care if he does want to kiss you. If something went down he would hang me out to dry and walk away scot free and I’m not down with that!

Taicho goes back to working on his paper humming “purple haze”

I hadn't considered the DM wouldn't want us role-playing in recruitment. I now have something to consider for a later date. Thank you everyone.

Table:
"I think we should stay focused on the assignment and leave the librarian and her property out of it."

Fun with tables:

Amin looks over Isabela's outline and starts making notes in the margins. "I'll take the section on stories of black magic during the wars and Great Depression."
After a few minutes of listening to the flirting he looks up at Kakeru and Isabela, "Are you two going to work on the project or act like mating pigeons? I mean even Taco is getting more done here than you two. If we're taking the time as a group to work on the project we should focus more."

He drops to a whisper, "Besides the librarian is never going to be trusted with the really sensitive stuff; it's in the Principal's office, if the school has any. Searching the librarian's office isn't a bad idea to start with, though. She still hasn't started her break yet...Once again, though, don't tell me, I can't lie worth a d@!n."
With this he starts talking about the outline, giving ideas that, despite an insight here or there, really have no meaning.

GM changes made to PC submission GM, yep Roll playing in recruitment is a great way to flesh out PCs and relationships, just sitting around now doing simple stuff can really add to how a PCs shapes out before game, also it lets you see hope PCs bounce of each other, like Isabela and Aizawa's love hate / love thing going on now. Had no idea that may come out like this, but is cool and adds to both PCs.

At the Table:

SM 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Her smirk never shifts, she lets posture at her, she notes the red face and hears Taco out. Then she sits back slowly and looks up at light, eyes closed, thinking. Her head comes back down, Now they see the face of the Ice queen, nothing at all but dead cold eyes a still look on her face, an undead look from a soul as cold as the grave. In a flat even voice states she states

"An angles blush Aizawa, your showing emotion, Why? because Taco has a point, you have a reputation for being a snitch, its well known, ask Voz he has been telling all your 1st Class Citizen pals about just how much you are one. There is a good one for you Voz You came here and you followed us, to find out what we where doing, now your asking so many questions Aizawa, just like 'the man' wanting to find out all where upto, so very much like 'The man' Aizawa so very much like a S.n.t.i.c.h."

She spells out the last word, what looks at him is a cold unfeeling face.

Perception DC12 roll below.

Perception DC12:

Her look at Aizawa is more one would give a just about to be eaten dinner then to a living breathing person. Its not scary, its just very disturbing.

Ouch:

Taicho listening as he tries to work on his part of the paper, chokes when he hears Isabela call Aizawa a snitch, he stops humming, shifting his eyes left then right, but not turning his head from his page.

ouch that was cold, now you know why we call her the Ice Queen, dude…I cannot believe I’m doing this paper with these posers…break in this place…break in that place…I thought they all were “law abiding citizens”…and they call us Tengu’s the criminal element…element aww I gotta do my chemistry home work too, crap

Taicho writes himself a note on a separate piece of paper and returns to his homework, this time humming respect

At the table:

Note: No one in Port August has ever seen Aizawa fly. He hasn't used it since Elan Academy...

Note: He wasn't turning red face but his eyes and ears betray his mood quite badly if he doesn't pay attention. His eyes are iridescent, something interesting I wanted to try, so they have no singular color. ;) But still it was a nice post Calista/Wombat!

"Emotion? Hardly and Blackfeather should remain silent when the adults are talking. Besides you're smarter then he is anyway, that is plain to see with how easily he is manipulated." His ears twitch as they swivel to listen to everyone words. He never stops looking at Calista and he smiles as their threats fall on deaf ears. His knuckles crack as he clenches his fist. "Go ahead, do as you do best Voz."

His eyes radiate an array of colors as the threats silently amuse him, in fact being insulted actually makes him feel better and calms him greatly. It reminded him of The Ring and with that thought in mind he focuses on Calista again as he speaks still smiling with that unsettling calm. "I am curious nothing more, why does anyone do anything in this f%~%ed up world Calista? But Amin has a point, we need to finish our project and settle our differences later." He lifts his chin off his blackened knuckles then.

Perception - Calista: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

His eyes flash a bright red again at Calista before settling back into their normal glacial blue color.

He breaks eye contact with her as he nods to Hazel and Cobalt, his tone returning to its neutral state once more. "Anything to add?"

The Table:

She waits a moment after Aizawa brakes their gaze to nod to the others.
Then she picks up her round Victorian John Lenin sun classes and slips them on. Aizawa forgotten like a left over scrap, she go's back to her, writing, picking up some of the books that Amin and making notes, wile still looking down making notes, she says now back to her normal if there is such a thing tone

"Amin do not worry about telling lies others her are far better skilled."

Her pen moves as she makes notes, then slips into the folds of her clothing a small black note book.

I wonder if Calista's family and the Luciano families are rivals.... That would be epic/funny to have that revealed one day.

The tone thing is a hard one for me to express in writing hopefully I'm not confusing anyone lol. More or less Aizawa speaks in a cold, neutral manner. Neither showing excitement for class functions or projects. He is more like a well oiled machine.

With the threat of violence he becomes a little more upbeat, it excites him but e learned long ago to not let it distract him. His expressions are smiling broadly or his ears perked completely upright without swiveling.

He's a different type of Aasimar, I normally am a goody goody type player. Trying to play a more neutral with a mean streak type.

table:

I am using Italics as thoughts, and bold as spoken, so I don’t know if Aizawa’s comment are about Taicho not knowing him well enough to trust him or about the “paper/posers’ mental tirade, I guess its really irrelevant. Edit: is the ring a modern movie reference or something from the sixties I don' remember? Oh and don't mind Taicho he just got his feathers ruffled, that all

Taicho looks up from the table, while Isabela is addressing Amin.

manipulated? I’m not the one wearing someone’s make-believe army uniform, starch boy, and just cause your old doesn’t make you an adult. Paying your own way in the world does, you see the clothes I’m wearing? I made the money to pay for them.

Taicho glares at Aizawa, placing his elbow on the table leaning in

I’m not some snot-nosed, upper-crust, rich-kid whose daddy didn’t want him around so he arranged for some military school blah blah, which by the way, apparently you couldn’t cut it at so you got sent here. I do what I want. I wanted to pick the lock so I did. I wanted to sit by the coolest girl in the school so I did. I’m the one here with eyes wide open, so either help with the paper and put your money where your mouth is or go ride around on your pretty British bicycle looking for a salute

With that Taicho hooks his claw thumb in the tip of his beak and thumbs it at Aizawa, he then intentionally settles back in his seat picking up his pencil and starts writing.

The Ring:

The Ring was a method of obedience training used on Elan Academy Cadets when they acted up and required punishment, it was also employed on new recruits as a rite of passage. The Ring itself was formed by the students themselves, the one who acted up or the new student would face one attacker after the next until he was through and brutally beaten into the floor. During the fight those standing in the ring would yell demeaning and horrible things (whore, slut etc for girls and similar treatment for guys) at the one being punished. It wasn't uncommon to be struck by those in the circle by improvised weapons.

Broken bones resulted many times, it was a horrible mistreatment of the cadets under the teachers there. But due to lack of evidence investigations took years to occur before the facility was finally shut down.

Isolation chambers, straps and various other means of punishment were used as well.

This was a true facility in Maine, USA. I couldn't make this up if I wanted to. Which I wouldn't want to.

Table:

"What you do is no concern of mine. But don't talk s~#@ about what you don't have a clue about Aonisi Blackfeather." Aizawa turns then to regard Blackfeather in a cold manner, never had he come so close to assaulting a student. But this time he turns red and his eyes turn a fiery golden color. "But never insult my family again. Say what you want about me, but not them. Watashi wa anata o bujoku shinakatta ima made no yō ni baka!" He didn't care if Calista got a kick at his show of emotion or that he accidentally spoke japanese in anger but he had completely lost his cool.

He turns from Cobalt and Hazel then and focuses on his already detailed notes, and tries to expand on them.

the ring:
I wish I could say the facilities existence surprise's me, I'll have to look further into it. Well played on the family themed anger. Obviously the prejudice issue runs both ways and Taicho see's all "first-class race" students as spoiled rich kids, like I said, well played

The Ring/Asian (Not meaning insult) family honor:

Yeah, I already shared some of it with Wombat/Calista. The story I read made me sick and the facility had been around for a long, long time. They used shock therapy as well as physical and mental breaking techniques. Just plain old over the top abuse. :/

Works good for a story though as sad as it is.

Thanks on the family honor, as I am personally I have learned from my Asian friends that family is a very protected thing among several nations. Insulting the family, even if they are not the most functional family, is likely to incur some serious wrath. I remember someone insulting my friend in high school because his father, at the time, had a drinking problem. Despite the fact the had been fighting for several days (my friend and his dad) he jumped straight into a confrontation with this kid over insulting his dad.

It was a learning experience to say the least~

Small update Seeing as Elves are sequestered in Virginia I took japanese instead of Elven hehe.

Anyone still interested in posting a character please do! DM Quoth is awesome and I believe recruitment is still open!

I think the GM was going with Pathfinder Languages and mapping them to race and location, I could be wrong but it came up wile talking about Russian.

I think the mian diffidence between Aizawa and Isabela is that

Where as Aizawa feels things alike "being upbeat" and "excitement" and then has to work hard to hid such feelings, to show a cold outside to the world.

Isabela just dos not feel such things, she has to work darn hard to pretend to the world she "Dos" have such feelings. When the mask drops, what's behind it is a cold calculating manipulative inhuman hunter.

Hence the Ice queen tag.

And thistype of RP is what makes it fun. :)

Nothing to see:

3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5) = 8

At the Table:

Isabela, under the table has a hand full of papers, she slides them over to Tako. There his part of the report project 98% done, she seems to have had them ready before they came to the library. They talk of his race and their use of spirit magics. its simple high school level stuff but it looks like an A grade quality writing. She taps his leg with the papers.

papers:

Taicho feels the papers being tapped against his leg and reaches under the table to take them, looking at the papers he thinks.

this work has been done a while, how long has she been planning all this, maybe there is more to what Aizawa said than I realize…who cares.. why look a gift horse in the mouth, I can adapt this, make it my own, still saves me several hours, I may actually get to the chemistry homework

Taicho looks at Isabela

Groovy, very groovy, your all right in my book, changing his screechy voice to sound as much like Humphrey Bogart as possible I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

He then continues working on his present assignment

speaking of bogart I wonder if I can score some 'aether' this weekend now that a little time has opened up

Table Talk:
Cobalt takes note of the librarian's glances at them. "You've all proven that you're tough as stone, but if we keep arguing we'll be put out of here and get into trouble. You want the Establishment taking notice of you like that? How about we finish this work, then all go for a soda? What do you say?"

It might be of interest to know that Cobalt knows how to brew beer. I wonder if that includes aether or is that a different skill?

Hmmm, would a lawful good first class citizen even approve of the use of AEther let alone know how to make it?

history refresher:

in a lot of states in the 1800's and early/mid 1900's it was illegal for certain minorities to purchase alcohol so they used other substances like AEther. So when the FDA came along they made a lot all of the substances that minorities substituted for alcohol illegal and actively ran propaganda against those substances. So Items which had been legal forms of relaxation or entertainment for minorities and a part of their subculture became illegal and villainized.
