GM Elberion |
As you seek to move stealthily into position, two enemies appear.
From the south-east, a sleek big cat, black fur with an orange stripe, which most of you recognise as a firepelt cougar, leaps forward.
Meanwhile, a goblin brandishing flame in both hands walk out of the bramble tunnel walls as easily as you would walk across a manicured lawn!
No surprise round, everyone aware.
Before you can react, the cougar leaps to attack Rak.

The goblin scowls and barks out in the creatures' strange tongue. Plants erupt from the ground and try to wrap around your legs.
entangle
DC14 reflex save or you gain the entangled condition.
Entangled: The character is ensnared. Being entangled impedes movement, but does not entirely prevent it unless the bonds are anchored to an immobile object or tethered by an opposing force. An entangled creature moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) or lose the spell.

GM Elberion |
Free action to drop an item, you can attack.
Akuleh Speaks With Ancients |
Ah yes, I was thinking of the 5ft step wrong. Thought I had essentially used two move actions, but you're right.
Akuleh thrusts the tip of the spear toward the cougar, not with the intent to harm the creature, but to give Rak an opportunity to move more freely.

She decides its better off to remove the immediate threat, as likely more of the green snots would be coming soon. The only way to get past would be to move through two allies and then through the cougar’s square as well. Or to pass through lots of entanglement and the cougar.
I will let you reconsider. Or you will have to make two more acrobatics checks and will not be able to attack this round.

Rak Opal |
"Shalelu, that shot couldn't have been timed better. One more hit from that cougar and I'd be down, I'm afraid." He steps slowly and carefully out of the weeds and grasses that had vexed him so much, and turns to Akuleh with an answer. "I need healing, and bad, my friend."
