First of all I am going to start with any faction missions that may be assigned.
Greetings fellow Pathfinder, as you are well aware, recent events on the Isle of Yune has called the attention of the Society. We have always seen you as a trustworthy and loyal pathfinder and as such it is time for you to get rewarded with a task befitting your due. We are interested in certain knowledge that we believe is beneath the Isle. The knowledge is not powerfully important by itself but could help with dealings closer to home. With watchful eyes in Absalom we deem it unwise to speak of the task further in this letter. We can however direct you to the Master of the Town of Luthgrad, who we have long been in contact with as his son was a previous member of the Society. He should be able to fill you in further upon the knowledge we are searching for. (This is delivered to Askar and Einor)
Fellow Scarzni, I am glad you have managed to get an invitation to that god forsaken island. Although it produces nothing but a nasty supply of fish the island of Yune has been a pain in our side for years. With close proximity to our trade lines, and an independent Merchant group in control of the island, boats from Yune manage to navigate past our trading ports and dodged any dealing we could have had with them. The Merchant group in control, known as the Wooden Council, must be made to see our side of the matter. Grastun Oviring, one of the Wooden Council Members in Luthgrad has been convinced to our side of the matter, however the other 3 merchants still require some persuading to be done. Meet with Grastun, and find a way to extend our trading rights.
Now, this is not all that needs to be done. While the bumbling Grand Lodge goes in searching for ancient artifacts I need you to give me a branch of both the Stone and Singing tree, I will submit more letters upon this in the future.
Guaril Karela (This is delivered to Tommar and Oberst)
Hail Compatriot, as you are aware, it is a week or so until your ship travels to Yune. Adoran agents have never taken any interest in the island but as you are there we can put you to good use. I was contacted about a month ago by the Head Priestess of Erastil, at Olnslav. While usually not interested in individual temples problems, she assured me that it was of the utmost importance. It appears as though, she believes that something darker than what the Thane believes is threatening Olnslav. I agreed to help her on the condition that good word was put in with the faith of Erastil, something our people could always use. Of course, what you achieve on the island is entirely up to you, I will try to keep in contact.
Major Maldris (This is delivered to Tazennin)

DM Thrun |

The party starts in a meeting room at the Grand Lodge at Absalom, a small amount of food is around, as well as a large meeting table. While your debriefer has not yet arrived, a large map of the island has been placed on the table, as well as a significantly large bag of coins. People have just arrived and the room is beginning to fill the Pathfinders.
So, if anyone wishes to do any quick, pre-debrief chat, aka. talk to your fellow faction members or finish that card game, then you are welcome to, will probably start the debrief sometime tomorrow.

![]() |

I presume Long Tom and I are traveling together? Unless he wishes to not be.
A scruffy looking half-elf stumbles into the room, his boots and clothes showing the well-worn signs of being on the road for a while. His cloak and a scarf are drawn tight around him and a large four-stringed instrument is slung across his back. He shakes off what grim he can and then sits down at a table and/or chair in the corner, awaiting the debriefing.
Throwing back his cloak, he settles in and pulls out his instrument and casually being to pick some spanish sounding arpeggios and hum and his eyes carefully dart about the room, taking it all in.
(sigh) "well, Long Tom, I hope this meeting passes quickly. I do hate the formality of these things..."

Einor |

As Einor crossed the grass-lined quad, he carefully reread the silver filigreed note that he had received from one of his superiors. After having spent a little over a month in Absalom, it looked like he was finally being granted an opportunity to travel and prove his worth to the Grand Lodge. He was excited by the prospect and his great stride grew faster as he navigated the gravel path to Skyreach for his first meeting. Pondering the contents of the missive, he thought, Luthgrad and the Isle of Yune, I wonder what they're like. Both were locations that were unfamiliar to him, and were somewhere in northwestern Avistan in Linnorm King territory. No wonder I was selected, he mused. While he had never been to the lands of his absentee father, Ulfen blood still definitely ran through his veins.
Refolding the note, Einor slipped it back into his belt pouch and entered his destination--the towering building of Skyreach. Making his way through its long marbled halls, he eventually found the chamber indicated in the letter. This must be it, he thought as he walked in and spotted the island map laying on the oversized table. Immediately drawn to it out of curiosity, the tall dark-haired ranger studied the layout and contours of Yune, taking mental note of its general terrain and the distances between its towns. His practiced eye quickly caught Luthgrad at the northern tip, and his mind tucked away the tidbit of information for later use. Satisfied by his brief perusal, he glanced around the meeting room to see who else was being recruited for this expedition.

![]() |

Taz arrived at Skyreach well before the appointed hour, mostly due to nervous anticipation. Once he crested the ornate doors, he became thoroughly lost among it’s vast halls, but made the most of the situation, marveling at the expansive spaces and intricate architecture. He finally found the appropriate room, but before entering he pulled out his letter from Major Maldris. I have never heard of this Erastil, but if we are to garner favor with the church, I will do my best. This dark force sounded very imposing to Taz, but he felt a small thrill at the prospect of encountering such incredible power.
A tall hunched elf with sandy brown hair entered the chamber. He had the hood of his cloak pulled up, framing the mask on his face, and supple brown leather gloves on his hands. His leather armor was covered in pockets which were filled with all manner of tool and object and he had a longbow and quiver slung over his shoulders. He quietly took a seat, giving a slight nod to any who turned their attention to him. He also seemed very interested in the map laid out on the table, making note of any and all significant location and landmark.

Helod Thes |

Helod also arrived early, "To be on time is okay, but to be early is better", was always his opinion. With long strides through the Grand Lodge, he silently admired the size of this place. He said a prayer, as to bless the area by Sarenrae, so that no harm might ever come unto the building, then he hurried off to the appointed room of meeting.
As he stumbled into the room, his mouth opened with awe at the large map set before him. He took all of the intelligence he had (lol, 8) to focus on it and memorize it. He sat there, for about 12 minutes trying to memorize it, then he remembered! He quickly pulled a paper and quill from his pack, and scrawled a picture of the map, trying to see if he knew it just from memory... 'Agh, no good, I'll try again', and he repeated this process until he came out with something like this.
He is just trying his best :D

DM Thrun |

Just going to start without Long Tom or Askar having posted, will assume they are in the room by now though
About thirty minutes after the group arrives a small well dressed man will stride into the room. Wearing bright green robes and favoring an eloquent mustache that has been curled and cut to almost perfect measurements he makes a rather elegant entrance. Any of you that have been at the Lodge for some time recognize him as Theodore Othis, an administrator of the Society and rumored previous Grand Magi in a far off wizarding school. In his arms he carries a small box wooden box, filled with a very well sorted pile of scrolls and papers. Drawing himself into the large plush chair next to the mapped table, he will beckon the party over to him.
"Well hello, I see you have managed to get here on time, how very polite of you. Now down to business. Am I correct in believing I will be filling you in on everything you should know, or has someone else been willing to take the time to explain things?" He looks around the group questioningly, his eyes quickly taking in the party.

![]() |

LOL, Helod
Oberst crosses his arms and chooses to mention nothing about the note from the Sczarni. Knowing them, it is best to keep their affairs secret.
"Nah, besides being told to report here I haven't been told much of anything. I know we are to go to the Isle of Thrune? Though for what reasons... I have not even the faintest... If the tales I have heard be true, I presume you are Theodore Othis? Well met, I am Oberst. Just Oberst..."
He gives him a quick smile and awaits the debriefing.

![]() |

Tommar had kept quiet most of the time taking in the sight of his fellow compatriots on this journey. The man seemed to exude the very epitome of gruff hard nerves that come from a man well traveled.
He partook in some local drinks one of his contacts had given him when he got his lovely letter. It was never a dull moment with the Scarzni, they sought to increase trade with these fishmongers and even more sought some branches from very curious named trees. He though would do this with little upset as his handlers often rewarded him handsomely for his work.
" Names 'Long Tom'" He says in a short curt manner as he looked at the the box in curiosity. He hoped it was a little bit of an advance. Than he saw like he always did a stack of scrolls and papers for them to look over and research for the journey. Unlike many other pathfinders paperwork was not something Tom relished to do.
"By all means sir fill us in and the details."He said politely as he stood there his tall frame now standing and peering over the others.

Helod Thes |

As Helod scrambles to put away his map making supplies, he nods the new comer, saying "Aye, well met! I am Helod Thes, paladin of Sarenrae. Please do tell us more about our mission sir... all I know is that we're going to The Island of Yune." He exclaims as he leans back into his chair and crosses his arms with an expectant and hopeful smile, similar to that of a puppy awaiting a meal.

DM Thrun |

Theodore twirl his mustache a while and then gives a long sigh, "Well, I guess I am going to have to go through the trouble of giving you a full briefing. As he says that, he grabs a nearby apple and makes himself comfortable in his chair. "Where to begin? Well, about a month ago the Society had a letter delivered to us by the Thane of Olnslav, a rather strange occurrence due to having never been in contact with him before, and the location of Yune itself. The letter was written about something called the Sidhe Entrance, and from the context of the letter sounds like a decently large Nar-Voth entrance. The Thane was quite understandably worried about the terrors that may come from such a place and the damage it could cause the small populace of the island." Theodore picks absently at a scab, as though considering his next words carefully. Now usually the Society would not send such a large team on a simple scouting mission, however from what the Thane said, this was not a small tunnel leading to Nar-Voth, but actually a trading road, if a small one. With the lack of trading routes into Nar-Voth known, this could be a major find, and one that we feel strongly enough about to send a full squad. Before I go, there are number of other matters to be addressed. Picking up the large bag of coins, Theodore will turn to the group, "These are for your travel to Yune, however the destination has not yet been decided. The Isle has two port cities, Darth and Luthgrad, the choice is yours on where you would like to be dropped off. He then motions to the box of papers on the table, "These are for you to peruse over, they carry any mention of Yune we could find in our libraries. Also in there is some basic Darklands and Linnorm Kingdom information, although I am not sure of how much use either of those will be." Theodore then turns his full attention to the apple and says with a mouthful, "Any more questions?

![]() |

Without a word, Oberst stands up and begins perusing the various documents on Yune laid out before them. He is especially interested in the mentions of the Darklands.
"I suppose it should be asked; do you this "Sidhe Gate" is closer to Darth or to Luthgrad? Either way, it looks like Darth is a bit more secluded in the inlet there. Sounds like it would be a bigger city, unless I am mistaken? So that would be my vote."
"So what exactly is it the Society would like us to do in regards to securing this trade route? Do we have any idea of a contact there, or are we on our own there?"

DM Thrun |

Theodore quickly swallows down a large bite of apple and wipes his mouth quickly. "Ah yes, I suppose I should have told you, the Thane of Olnslav will meet you at his court for more precise details. Also, between the cities of Darth and Luthgrad, Luthgrad is significantly larger than Darth. The southern three cities on the Isle are all under the general sway of the Thane of Olnslav but Luthgrad has always seemed independent from the Thane down south. Its size as the largest city on the Isle, even larger than Olnslav has given it a large degree of autonomy, despite technically being under the rule of the Thane.

![]() |

Tommar shook his head and took off his hat. The wild tangle of curls fell from it and he jostled the tangled mess before he looked at Theodore.
"Did they say what sort of critters we would be facing?" he asked as he set his hat before him and grabbed a small bit of food. lacking any real care for manners the Varisian began to peel the shell off the nut and than pop it into his mouth.
"I ask cause I wanna get the proper equipment for the group to you know handle the creatures with ease, You know to ensure us getting to the city and securing trade" he said with an edge that few his age truly possessed. He did not want to be left in the dark with no real supplies or strategy, especially in the wild of the Darklands.

![]() |

"Well... I guess one shouldn't jump to geologic conclusions."
Oberst flushes at his inaccuracies.
"What do we know of this Thane? Anything at all? What sort of rulership does he have going on? I just want to prepare for if we have to smooth talk some a-hole."

![]() |

Taz ignores the food, too nervous to eat.
I apologize for my ignoranth, thir, but what ith thith Nar-Voth? Thome thort of hosthtile land or territory? He considers the map for a moment. Ath to where we thould land, it thoundsth like we will meet with lesth rethisthtanth in Darth ath it ith more directly controlled by thith Thane.
Taz nods along with Tommar’s line of reasoning. I would also be interested to know what types of creatures we will be up againtht. Proper preparathion ith important.

DM Thrun |

Othis gives a pained sigh, and swallows another bite of apple. "Nar-Voth is the lower level of the Darklands, predominantly ruled by Duergar and other minor races, it is a mess of small underground caves. As for supplies and creatures, I can only make suggestions based on where your going, the Thane gave me no such information on what he expects to find. From what I can gather he did not scout out the entrance himself but instead divined it so any idea of creatures is pure speculation. As for supplies, I would suggest some sort of non bright light source, as a torch would draw a massive amount of attention to yourself down bellow. Then of course your regular travel gear for underground movement, which you would probably know better than I. As for the Thane, he serves the Linnorm Queen in Halsgrad, and with Halsgrad on friendly terms I doubt he could be a major hindrance.

![]() |

Tom looked at the man in the mask and held out some fruit."Eat kid and calm down" He says as he pops a grape in his mouth as he shakes his head and than looks back to Theodore aside from a quick glance at Oberst.
" A light source that's not bright so a candle, great. So maybe hire some halflings to be candle barers for us or something or maybe magical light?" He thought out loud as he popped another grape into his mouth. He didn't like having to spend all that free gold for supplies but it was needed. He would ask for an allotment to let him purchase a few more doses of powder and bullets for his gun.

![]() |

Still refusing any offers of food, Taz turns his head in Tom's direction, grinning sheepishly under his mask. Kid? While I may not have theen much of thith world outthide of my thurvitude in Korvostha, keep in mind I'm three timesth your age... Thir.
He turns back to Theodore. You can't exthpect usth to traverthe thesthe caveth with nothing more than a candle. Ith there perhapsth a way to grant usth the ability to thee in the dark?
Taz lifts a glass of water up to his mask then with his other hand grasps the mask from the bottom, lifting it slightly to take a drink, revealing just for a moment his heavily scarred chin and lips. I wath altho curiouth asth to why we are interethted in establithing trade with thith region if it ith tholely inhabited by evil, be it intelligent or not.

![]() |

Askar may not be sullen, but talkative is not exactly a proper word to describe him either. He had arrived late, as was fairly typical of him, and noticed a box of scrolls, books and the like, and immediately he sat down, pulled the box over to him, and pulled out two scrolls to begin his inspection. Otherwise, he simply listened to what information he could gather by ear, especially about the relative political independence of Luthgrad. He also pulled the map closer to him, as if ignorant of the fact that anyone else but him might want to inspect it.
Primarily, he begins to search for any mention of old groups that might have been in power, anything having to do with Nar-Voth itself. Anything that might be able to deal with the questions that his teammates are asking but do not have access to through Theodore.
Eventually, he sets these scrolls back down on the table and gathers more for inspection, but now he finally looks at the others.
"About half of us human and half of us elven. I suppose Moonrods would suit you elves well enough. Us humans . . . I suppose, if we wore helmets, we could affix a spike to them on which to skewer a candle. It would look absolutely ridiculous, but we'd have a few feet of light."
He looked at the map now. "And I would second that we arrive at Darth - we'll end up in the dark anyway, we should attempt to avoid the same in knowledge by speaking to the Thane. If any of you need more prepatory supplies than you currently have and they cannot be covered by our travel expenses, speak to me." He continues reading.

DM Thrun |

Another bite, another explanation. "As far as light sources, every time I have traversed the great Underdark I have used fire beetle gland, but that particular source would not last the boat travel. Hopefully you can arrange for the Thane to help you with a light source, if not, a dim lantern will do about as much of anything I have on hand. Now, masked one, I understand your concern about trading with the evils beneath, but our goal is not to establish trading routes, much more so to monitor the pre-existing ones. A watched and guarded entrance to Nar-Voth is a much smaller deal than one we have no information of."
As for the box of scrolls, there are way to many scrolls to read over completely. If you have a knowledge, these scrolls will give you a +5 to any information you wish to know about the Isle regarding that knowledge. Each person will only have time to look over one knowledge worth of scrolls. Also, if you could give me the area that you are looking into when using your knowledge check.
For Example, Knowledge Local (The towns and cities of the Isle)

![]() |

K. Local: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 5 = 24 (other +5 is from scrolls).
Oberst continues to study the scrolls a bit as he debates over the details of their journey, and hoping to learn a bit more about the towns and cities of the isle.
"Askar was it? I think your reasoning with the moonrods is sound, though I am unsure if we have the funding to afford many of them. The underdark can be a very dangerous place. Besides essentials such as rope and such, I reckon we will need to prepare for many days without returning to the surface. We will need plenty of water and food for sure."

![]() |

kn. arcane (locations of power): 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 5 = 19
kn. nature (relevant animals/creatures on the island): 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 5 = 26
EDIT: Oops, sorry I missed the one scoll per person limit. I guess subtract the 5 from my kn. arcane check since that was already covered by another member of the party, making my roll a 14.

![]() |

After looking over the scrolls, Taz once again addresses Theodore.
There wouldn't happen to be any thpare scrollsth, spellbooksth, or formulae in your librariesth that you would allow me to perusthe by chanth? If I could garner a few extra extractsth for my book, that would thurely boosth our chancesth of thuccesth.
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
lol.

![]() |

Tommar let the others dwell on the various aspects of the island and what was on it. He focused on the work at hand. He scratched his head and began to ponder on the various gear they might need. As he does that he picks up a few things of scroll seeking out the climate and geography.
Intelligence for general gear needed for Yune and the Darklands: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Einor |

As Theodore Othis spoke, Einor silently stood at his spot by the table and map, listening intently to the older man's words as he explained the reason why the Pathfinder operatives were being sent to Yune. A Sidhe Entrance had been discovered, and apparently it was a potentially lucrative find from what the dark-haired ranger could tell from the administrator's terse explanation. And while profit wasn't one of his personal priorities, he could see why the Society would want it checked out as soon as possible. Especially if other groups, such as the Aspis Consortium, knew about it and wanted to exploit it.
While Einor was under no illusion that the Pathfinder Society was completely altruistic in their own interest, he still believed that this discovery would be safest under their supervision. But this entrance wasn't the only objective that he had to take care of, though he kept the secondary matter private from the others. At some point he'd have to make his way to Luthgrad if the majority ended up deciding that the party should dock at Darth. Quickly poking through the scrolls that Othis had brought, he searched for one that might reveal more detail about the Isle of Yune's topography than what he had already gleaned from the map resting on the table.
Trying to find more information about the route and travel time between Darth and Luthgrad, and if there are any known dangerous areas that exist along the way.
Knowledge (Geography): 1d20 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 5 = 16
Sorry for the late post. Big tree branch took out some power lines, so intermittent power + spotty service = big headache.

Helod Thes |

It felt like forever to Helod that the man spoke. Although he was sure it was important, and he even took some notes on his map, he wasn't all to interested, except for the seldom mention of monsters. At the final mention of the scrolls, Helods eyes opened wide, and he jumped forward, and began to study all of them, yet none of them at the same time. He didn't know what to look for, so he started from the beginning, and scrawled extra notes on the back of his map, trying to be thorough, although in reality, he knew that it would never be of any use.

DM Thrun |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Helod, as you have no knowledge what I can do is have you help Tommar out and give him a +2 assistance bonus.
That puts the totals at
Int based General Knowledge on Darklands -10
Knowledge Geography on the route to Luthgrad -16
Knowledge Nature on relevant creatures - 26
Knowledge Local on towns - 24
Knowledge Arcana on sites of power - 15
General Knowledge on the Darklands
From Tommar and Helod bumbling through scrolls they come upon a basic definition of the Darklands. The Darklands are the area underneath the surface of the world. Caves and caverns tunnel beneath the earth hiding the deeper mysteries. It is said this is the home place of the Drow, those dark elves of legend and perhaps of even deeper mysteries. With the darkness and continual twisting of the caves, light and a guide, or many days worth of supplies is important.
Knowledge Geography on the road to Luthgrad
Einor looks through the scrolls and eventually finds a useful scroll from an old cartographer who mapped the island shortly after humans arrived. He manages to put together an idea of the road from Darth to Luthgrad. The road from Darth to Luthgrad is the least traveled road on the island, its length and danger makes only the most foolish of merchants not hire boats to transport goods between the two cities. The two major landmarks on the road to Luthgrad are the Eastmoors and Jurn Forest. The former is a barren landscape of long endless hills with far apart trees and horrid land for farming. The air is thin and weak in these hills and people avoid them for good reason. Many of the less desirable creatures on the Isle have found their homes in these hills. If it was just the Eastmoors in the way though, the road might have the occasional traveller, however the mystique of Jurn Forest cowers the rest. The forest is said to be tied to some magical force, and things that stray off the path seldom come back. Although no factual information has been found regarding the forest, the people of the Isle live in awe and fear of it.
Knowledge Nature on relevant creatures
Tazennin struggles to find any mention of important of different creatures on the Isle, but with a good head and eyesight he manages to come across small references of strange beings perhaps not of this world, but mentioned in hunting guides and sightings nonetheless. The most common being spoke of in these scrolls is the occasional mysterious animal. A white stag seen off in the distance, or great black bear that seems to use the roads of man as much as the roads of the woods. These sightings, although heard of in the rest of Golarion seem to be much more common on this Isle, as though something creates or draws these oddities. The second thing Tazennin finds are a group of strange papers upon what the scrolls call "The people of the Forest". These scrolls talk of a group of beings that from Tazennin's perspective seem almost elf like in nature, but the scrolls do not speak of them as being elves. The scrolls say they sing and dance throughout Jurn Forest, bewitching the trees, and singing to the earth itself. The people seem to stay far away from the strange people in the forest.
Knowledge Local on the Towns
Oberst pulls together a lofty tower of Thanes status reports to Halsgrad and begins to sort through the piles with a great speed and diligence. He quickly gains information on each of the four towns.
Olnslav- Olnslav is the seat of the Thane and the second largest town on the island. Supporting a population in the low 600's, the town is the center of business and culture in the South. The military force of the South, as well as the highly respected Church of Erastil takes it position in this town.
Rutt- Rutt is the smallest town on the Isle. With a population barely under 100, it is of little significance except to the people that live there. The town does have the advantage of being in the best farming spot on the Isle, and as such is the breadbasket of the South.
Darth- Darth supports a population little over 200, and is the center of trade in the South. All of the crafts and lumber that comes from Olnslav goes through Darth, and from that it is quickly rising in wealth and size. The town still has a way to go though before it reaches any real prominence.
Luthgrad- The largest city on the Isle, with a population in the high 600's, it is the only town free of the Thane's reach. Luthgrad manages to support its own town guard and feeds itself from the lucrative fishing near the town. Not only does Luthgrad support the largest population it also boasts the Isle's only arcane group. "The Illuminated Order" is a group of arcane users from all schools of magic. Seeking protection in numbers, all the spell casters of the Isle have banded together in Luthgrad to form their Order, a secretive and untrusting group.
Knowledge Arcana on sites of power
Askar searches through the paper, and struggling slightly with a difficult study, manages to pull out a few rumors of magical sites. The most common magical site talked about is something called the "Sidhe Mounds", and from what Askar can tell they seem to be the tombs of some older beings. These mounds can be found in Jurn Forest, and as with all things there seem to be avoided at all costs. The other sites are only mentioned briefly and with varying degrees of surety on their existence. A small note on what is called the "Singing Tree" is found as well as another small note on a supposed underground network beneath the Whalespine Mountains that the now deceased author thought contained something magically powerful.
The Diplomacy Check
Theodore will look up over the last bites of his apple. "We have given you gold to pay for your ship, we have spent valuable time collecting scrolls for you to peruse over before your going away, and above all that I, had to spend my time to answer any of your questions. What else would you like, me to go along with you and hold your hand?" Ottis sneers and looks down at his hand, trying to return to the apple, then notices he has eaten all of it. A look of dull hatred crosses his brow and he looks up "Well, any more questions?"
Sorry for any grammatical mistakes, I am not the best when given a long thing to type up.

![]() |

Askar is somewhat pleased with his findings, even if they do not add up to a great deal of certainty. He outright dismisses the relevance of the underground network beneath the Whalespine mountains, simply out of a desire to avoid darting hither-thither across the most unpleasant terrain on the island. The Sidhe Mounds are of interest to him, but he'd prefer not to inspect it until he could gather more information on any previously supposed or factual previous inhabitants of the island. The Singing Tree he dismisses much like the network - although he tacks it in his mind under the tab 'Consult Later' - he may be able to find more on it once he's spoken to locals.
He began to formulate a more formal route - land at Darth, travel to Olnslav, then look for this Sidhe Gate. Once the requests of the Thane were completed, take the safest route possible through the Jurn Forest to Luthgrad, gather whatever information possible about these former inhabitants, and then decide whether or not to inspect the Sidhe mounds.
He would need to earn the compliance of his comrades, though.
"Thank you, Mister Othis, we will do as assigned."
Askar removes a small pad of paper from his pocket, then searches about for an inkpot. Once he has access to the necessary materials, he'll begin to work out an agenda.
"Mister Longtom, I can provide any necessary, basic materials or foodstuffs that we might need for our exploration of the Darklands. If you need something specific, Masked Chemist, I may be able to get that for you as well, although I would prefer repayment for such a thing. Now, otherwise, all in favor of landing at Darth say aye?"
Perception (Details suggesting Tazennin's Craft): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Sense Motive (Resultant Hunch about his capabilities): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

![]() |

He looked at the rangers and nodded as he pointed to his powder horn and his bullets.
"I am in Dire need of ammunition and the powder that fuels it.Also like they said we need fuel sources and more survival gear"he says as he than looks to there masked companion. He might trade a few secrets aswell and introduce him to guns and gunpowder.

![]() |

Oberst finishes up his research and shares his findings on the towns on the island with the group.
"Oh man, these guys kept pretty great records of these towns! Isn't information just fantastic? What did you guys find out? Anything good? Long Tom, if you need I can accompany you to find some ammunition, if you need company on the way to an alchemist or the like... I never quite did understand how you make those damned firearms. Anyways, maybe I could 'persuade' them to give ya a deal, yeah?"

![]() |

Taz finally looks up after perusing the documents. Addressing Askar,"I would be interesthted to find out what Obersth hath learned about the townth of the isthle before we make any dethithonsth on how to protheed."
Addressing the group,"I found a thcant bit of information thuggesthing thightingsth of creaturesth that may thuggesth that Fey inhabit Jurn Foresth. I also came acrossth repeated mentioningsth of 'mytheriousth creaturesth', thpecific thightingsth noted stagsth and bearsth. I can only chalk thith up to the prethenth of a druidic thircle, perhapsth?"
Taz also chimes in on Tommar and Oberst' conversation about firearms, "While I have no knowledge of the workingsth of the ammunition of your devithe there, I would love the chanth to learn, given the opportunity. I tend to enjoy raining fire on my enemiesth ath well."

With an inward sigh after inspecting one of the scrolls, it dawned on Einor that overland travel between Darth and Luthgrad might not be practical or even feasible. With both the Eastmoors and Jurn Forest in the way, it appeared that the risk of danger far outweighed the goal of reaching his secondary destination. I'll have get to the other town by water then unless I have no other choice, he realized. He shivered a bit at the thought, preferring the solidity of earth under his feet over the depthless uncertainty of open ocean. But not contacting the Master of Luthgard in person wasn't an option, unfortunately. He had a job to do and he would do it to the best of his ability.
So despite the administrator's evident irritation, Einor dared one last question, "Who should we contact in Yune if we need to get word back here to Absalom?" The Society had trusted agents and couriers set up in many locales all across Avistan, but the isle that the operatives were about to travel to was remote even by Pathfinder standards, and may not have had a reliable contact already in place. And such a contact would be crucial to the ranger if he needed to reach his Grand Lodge superiors with critical information.

If anyone wants to buy equipment with Askar's parents money then they can, Oberst might need 60 gold for supplies and so on.
Also, I would like to land in the island by Friday Afternoon, so a party decision soon would be cool, if it takes more time, then I understand.
Othis will look at Einor and give a quick smile, "Well, a useful question, if any of you have any need to speak to me or anyone else from the society then I suggest you leave a notice with ship captain at either Darth or Luthgrad. Give good payment for the letter and it should be able to reach the Lodge within a week or three.

"You owe money to people?" He says Tom as he looks at Oberst. He smiles and chuckles a bit.
"Might we need to worry about their pursuit? I'm not complaining just more curious" He than looks at the others and smiles.
"Seems we be going on a fine journey"he says as he pulls out his firearm and begins to clean it focusing on it."SO I assume we are going to this Darth and than going by land to this Luthgard, or are we gonna try to go directly to Luthgard"

Einor |

The silver scales of Einor's armor rasped as he shifted his weight from one booted foot to the other. With his calloused palms planted face down on the table, he leaned forward to hear the pale-skinned Andoran's remarks better. And while he didn't immediately recognize the bow-bearing speaker, he did experience a sense of familiarity as if he had seen the man's face before, perhaps in passing. It piqued his curiosity enough to wonder what faction the other warrior belonged to.
However, when the gray-eyed bowman called for a vote, Einor smoothly replied with a simple, "Aye." He didn't want to tip his hand by insisting on a Luthgrad docking, so he decided to bide his time and improvise later after they had all made landfall on the island.
Is the bag of coins that Othis brought only for paying the transportation fee to Yune? Or will there be enough left over to help cover the cost of additional gear?

"Nah, I'm certainly not worried about it. They can't risk loosing my contribution of skills to their 'causes'. I think you know what organization I speak of Long Tom." He winks and gives him the secret Sczarni Bro Fist Bump.
"Though I would rather not risk travel through the Jurn forest, I believe Darth should be our point of landing, as Luthgard seems to owe no allegiance to the Thane, whom we need to speak with. And as frightening as it seems... I would really like to see about these 'sidhe mounds' in the forest as well."

After hearing about this "Illuminated Order", Taz shifted his priorities, interested in investigating this arcane guild.
"I am fine with travelling to Luthgrad firsth ath it may be wisthe to thee another viewpoint of thingth on the isle, without the Thane'th influenthe. I thuggesth we uthe whatever exthesth gold we have after purchathing gear to put toward alchemical thuppliesth tho I may craft uth thome healing potionsth during our voyage to the Isle."
Taz appears to be finished speaking, then seems to recall one last bit of information. "I altho need to addresth thome faction busineth in Olnthlav at some point, although it ith not a prething matter."

So far it seems like you guys are landing in Darth, unless this changes soon I will assume you land in Darth on Friday evening. If you wish to change destination though, there is still time.
Oh, and if you are going to try to lower the price of transportation I will need 1 person for a Diplomacy or Intimidate check.

I have 70 spare GP that can be used to purchase additional supplies. Potions will take too much of it. Whatever supplies seem necessary, just list their costs in either Discussion or OOC and I'll subtract the same amount of gold. Please prioritize party supplies before personal supplies, such as ammunition.
I'm starting by purchasing 60 trail rations - 10 days worth for each of us. That's 30 gold.
40gp remain.
"Current count at 3 Darth, 1 Luthgrad - Helod, Tom?"

Helod Thes |

"Aye, I would vote for Darth, sounds nicer," He says as he pulls his map out, and draws a dotted pointed line to Vader. He smiles to the group, "Hey, if you the lot of you are interested, I think I might be able to lower the price of the ship ride. Might be a load off of our chests?" He says with a wink.
Big Money, come on...
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
AND IT'S GOLD
"Yep, pretty darn sure I could lower his price to just about nothing!" He says, as he begins preparing a speech in which to persuade passage of a lower price.
Don't know how you like to do Diplomacy, but I figure that you'll want some kind of speech, so for when you need it, here:
Assuming that it's a male captain, here goes nothing.
"Hello my good Sir, me and my Companions would like to seek passage to Darth, might you be able to get us there, for, say (TRANSPORTATION PRICE - 10GP (Or whatever party decides))?" He says with a wink and a clasp on the back. "Surely a mighty ship such as yours could carry a group of adventurers such as ourselves, to Darth? Such a great, noble captain such as yourself could help out some of the common rabble? He exclaims, with a smile in his heart, being sure to play up every single thing he can remember from his years at the Temple, persuading the locals to come inside, have a look around, to help them feel secure, safe. He never missed a beat, it seemed, and although the proven low intellect of Helod, it seems that if he were to write a book, no matter how poorly written, it would at least tell the correct concepts, if the subject happened to be diplomacy.

Tom looked at them as he finished cleaning and oiling his musket. He gingerly slid his "Ismera" on his back and than took one last apple and bit into it.
"Darth it is."he says as he looks to Oberst. He shakes his head and chuckles."And yes I know all to well those debtors. Me I have no issue with them, I mean we Varisians are not a bad lot"
