From the main entryway into the temple, you can see several means of entry into the inner ring. Four columns stand vigil in this open-air courtyard, a wide doorway opening in the center of each wall. To the east, a huge Tree lies fallen across the wide bridge that once permitted access to the great gates of the temple. To the north and south stretches a ten-foot-wide walkway running along the temple’s exterior wall. A wide moat of black ice separates this walkway and the inner complex. To the south, a crude wooden ramp leads from the walkway to the ice’s surface ten feet below. Two steep stone stairways lead up from the ice to doorways in symmetrical chambers flanking the main entrance on the
other side of the moat.

I'm not entirely certain where we currenlty are. Any reason why we can't climb the tree? If that way is barred, then the obvious way would be to cross the ice to the stairs to the west. Maps would suggest climbing the tree or sneaking to the east stairs.

Opal glances at the caster types, and keeps her voice low. If there is a way to walk in, it may be better for some of us if we all go that way as opposed to climbing all over the place.
Maps

Still a little confused. Are we on top of the wall or under it in some sort of gate or portcullis? If we are on top, then I think crossing the tree would not require climbing, acting instead as rough terrain, right?
"Hmm." Maps looks to the casters. "You better at swimming or climbing? Because I dislike the look of that ice."

If I can take 10 on the climb, I will do so. And if a grappling hook and rope will help, I will use those too. If neither are possible, I'll still make the attempt. Adjust as needed please.

i'll allow you take a 10 or a 20 you can take as much time on the climb as need... which allows you to get on top of the tree... but as soon a maps get to the top he's grab by a snare trap... snare, 1d6 ⇒ 1 damage, entangled and lifted 10 feet off the ground... and sound of tiny bells can be heard comming from the tree.... whoevers home now knows your here...

If this works I'll likely need an acrobatics check for the fall. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Bah.

Opal moves to the top of the ramp on her right, draws her bow and readies an arrow for the first Aspis to appear. (15 feet west. I can’t edit the map during the day.)
Take the easy rout I say, but no. We need to make sure to ring the doorbell instead.

Why dos ery one want to make dis old man climb. I be too old fer this. Tomnus says as he makes his way to the tree to climb it. When Maps is ensnared he busts out into a jovial belly laugh and begins clapping before he begins to get out of breath and clench his stomach doubling over.

Yes... To maps and you too would nock him out... Leaving the other 2 unconcous for 2d4 rounds and useless for about the same so that wraps up combat... Well as long as you can tie the other 2 up... And Varg doesn't object to being skiped.... Tomnus will fall once more before taking a 10 or 20 and then climbing whit out any problems... So on wards what's next?
