I liked this one, but we lost half the players to real life at a time when I was heroically busy. It counts as an honourable failure on the roster - and the only game I've ever deliberately put on hiatus.

Tenja throws aside Agera's (or whatever is inhabiting her) domination and reduces one of the armours to shards. As it collapses, Agera breathes deeply and absorbs the animating force.

Still smouldering gently, the furious dwarf looks for fresh worlds to conquer.

Zareth backs away as the shadows rise up around the devils, flailing at all within reach.

Use Grasping Shadows at K3 vs A and IA(vs Will, slowed until EOMNT, creates zone in burst that deals 4 psychic damage and slows anything who enters it until my next turn), then move to G6: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 231d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 81d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Also, I grant CA until my next turn and Xod turns invisible and moves to M7


The shadows grope at the armour and do nothing, but the thing cannot deal with the burst of psyhic damage and collapses, bestowing the last of its life force on Agera as it falls. For the undead tiefling, the effect horrible. She finches back as the shadows from into what might have Illugi Swordbreaker and the Emerald Warlock as they appeared in life. Her movements slow to a crawl.

Left to his own devices, the imp flickers out of sight.

Even as she burns, Kith grins at the Tiefling. "Ready to die?" she asks, as her own wounds close.

Two ongoing 5 fire, both resisted with her own resist 5 fire. Second Wind as a minor. Since she's bloodied, she spends 2 surges for 24 + 1d10 ⇒ 24 + (7) = 31 healing

She then steps to the side, her hammer flashing out at the undead foe, the often seen gold light shining from the weapon.

Shift to J5. Word of Dimishment. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17. On hit: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 damage and she has Vuln 2 until EOMNT, Vuln 5 to OAs. Saves vs Continuing Fire: 1d20 ⇒ 6 and 1d20 ⇒ 15. One save.

Kith - you are no longer taking any ongoing fire. The rules are pretty clear that you only take one batch of the same type of ongoing damage at a time, so as you've saved, that's it unless something hits you again.

Agera can only watch as Kith's wounds heal, but she retains enough sense of self-preservation to avoid the incoming blow that follows.

Sprawled on her back, Agera seems more than ever the tool of the wrathstone as it explodes over Kith and Tenja once more.

Between pating out the fire on him and shooting two arrows at Agera Kel says.

I really really don't like you.

Tenja takes a moment to try and put out the fire in his beard before giving up to lash at the fowl Tiefling. A spray of gravel and stone erupts from his hammer blow. Seeing some results from his attack he gains heart and seems to become sturdier.


Smouldering but determined, Tenja swings and hits, keeping Agera on the floor and holding firm against the blast of power that rips into him and Kith from the wrathstone.

And he holds aloft his holy symbol and says the words of banishment.

Andrus' faith nearly fells the horror, but somehow the sturdy body just manages to hold together long enough to rise and blast fire at the companions.

"This does not end here!" screams the possessing voice, forcing Agera's arms high as it squeezes the last vestige of movement from her corpse.

Added the 3 damage for leaving Tenja's zone.

Since he only had 20HP and no fire resistance, Xod pops now and I lose a HS.

Zareth winces as Xod goes down in flames. "Yes, it does.", he says as the axe swings down towards her head-

question: did Agera take a penalty for casting while prone? and does her being immobilized mean she can't stand up? just curious. thanks.


Immobilised means you can't move from your square, not that you can't stand up. That's why she stood up - so she didn't have to cast from prone :)

Kith drops back, focusing on keeping her team up, as various runes spark into life in the air.

Healing turn: First, move to L6, not enering the zone. Second, use my standard as a Minor to use Shield of Sacrifice, targeting myself. I lose a surge, and Tenja and Andrus can each regain hp as if they had spent a surge. In addition, Tenja, Andrus, and myself all have +5 AC until EOMNT. After that, as a free action, I use the daily power of my shield, which lets Tenja gain a second surges worth of HPs without spending a surge, and lastly, I use my last rune of mending on myself as a minor, which also gives the whole party +2 damage until EOMNT. My fire save: 1d20 ⇒ 10

To summarize: I spend 2 surges, gain 1 surge worth of HPs, and have +5 AC. Andrus gains one surge of healing, spends no surges and has +5 AC, Tenja gains 2 surges worth of healing, spends no surges, and has +5 AC. Everyone in the party has +2 damage. The AC and damage bonuses are until EOMNT.

Oh, if the Wrathstone attack and/or the Hell Blast base damage were fire, then let me know, since I'd have 5 extra hp for each attack if they were, thanks to fire resistance.


Please note the following:
Andrus gains one surge of healing, spends no surges and has +5 AC, Tenja gains 2 surges worth of healing, spends no surges, and has +5 AC. Everyone in the party has +2 damage. The AC and damage bonuses are until EOMNT.

Kith - it's all fire and untyped bar the ongoing which is pure fire.

Kith gathers herself and concentrates on healing herself and her friends.

With a roar, Urlag slams his weapon into Agera.


Urlag flings himself across the room and drives his chains into Agera one more time. Unable to sustain any more damage, her battered body collapses, the voice inside her rising to shrill triumphant scream as she falls.

The wrathstone crashes to the ground and glows ominously.

"Z, check out that wrathstone, but for pity's sake, don't touch it! I am not going to be killing any of you to be free of it. that demon or entity seemed to be controlling her through that. If you can't figure it out, I am going to just wrap it in my cloak and stick it in my pack."

Andrus says after Agera falls.

what's in the corner? a desk? and what is the coloring difference representing, Rev? Andrus will move over to where the wrathstone dropped and will physically intervene to prevent someone from touching the stone. He firmly beleives that it is cursed and the demon can control whoever uses it. He doesn't believe that it will harm someone if they don't touch it or try to use it, which is why he will wrap it and store it to bring it to holy ground to unmake.

hp were 25-15=10 then + surge thanks to Kith so 21, then -5 for ongoing. then save=19. 16 and use 3 more surges to get up to 44, now 49. 3/8 surges remain. level 6 new utility- bastion of health, it's like a better healing word, since it is range10. And I've prayed to Avandra to change my level 5 daily to spiritual weapon. (retrain) also range 10 and can sustain for multiple attacks. besides better everything that changes with level, that is mostly it. I was feeling useless when I had to be so close to the bad guy and not be in their face. range 5 is dumb. i would have changed the other daily, too, but we are only allowed one retraining per level. or is it every even numbered level? anyhoo, that's my changes. will update my profile tonight.


You can retrain once per level.

Andrus - one of my longest running home game pcs was a shifter cleric who seemed to spend most of her life counting to 5. She was a lot of fun to play, but often a tactical nightmare. Level 6 makes a good difference to clerics though - you add 2d6+whatever to your healing words for one thing and that makes a substantial difference to how long you can keep a party on its feet.

The protective warding shrouding the desk falls away as Agera herself collapses.

Andrus's warning looks timely as the wrathstone glowers from the floor, still pulsing with power.

What are you picking it up with and how are you carrying it? If you are doing either of those things.


One of the new special implements allows some of the clerics powers to go to 7 range :)

"If anyone picks it up, it should be me." Kith says. "I don't get burned as badly as the rest of you."

For my level 6 power, I took Third Wind. It's a daily that lets me spend a surge, and an ally can trigger it with a DC10 heal check. I retrained one of my at wills, and had sooo many feats I wanted. I ended up taking Dwarven Weapons training, which gives me proficiency and +2 damage with axes and hammers. So, in effect, +2 damage on every attack.

"That may be true, but you are also hard to fight. IF this thing posesses you, we may ALL be dead since you are so tough." Andrus says as he looks directly at Kith. He sighs. "I'll secure it. Kith, Tenja, get ready to attack me if I get posessed. Put me down quickly. I'd rather die than be a slave."

Then he takes off his cloak and drops it on the wrathstone. He waits for Tenja and Kitherra to get into position.

when they've readied an action to attack me if possessed, I will scoop up the wrathstone in my cloak and put it all in my backpack. I will be very careful to not touch the stone with my bare hand and keep it wrapped up securely in my pack. Then I will check out the desk.

"No need to grab it just yet, Andrus." With a flick of his wrist, the stone hovers in the air and drifts over to Zareth. The imp reappears on his shoulder in a flash of light. "Xod, you're familiar with sin, correct? What do you know about this thing?"

Sorry, internet was horribly slow last night, so I didn't post. Arcana, what can I tell about this thing? 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15

Lovely timing for a 1.


Beyond the fact that the wrathstone is both magical and evil, Zareth can tell little.

Profile not yet updated. Took Two-Weapon Fighting (+1 damage) and Perfect Balance (move speed-2, ignoring difficult terrain, at-will). Retrained Wounded Beast to Adaptive Assault (do nasty things if hit with both attacks).
