Kingmaker Table 1

Hello Table 2! Here's your discussion thread. Gameplay will be up soon.

Kingmaker Table 1

The way I want to do the race of your family is for everyone to list their top three choices, and then I'll suggest a family tree based on that.

How does that sound?

Thanks for choosing us and running this game.

To help the character choice, here is the list of characters and race choice we have proposed for this table:

Eston: Uncle, Lore Warden/Monk
Half-elf, Tiefling, Sylph, Ifrit, Undine

Altius: Middle brother ?, Wizard or Arcanist.
Tiefling, Dhampir(Vetala born), Aasimar (Emberkin), Sylph

Leana: Little Sister, Swashbuckler/Magus
Human or Half-Elf.

Cassandra Marid: Mum, Warsighted Oracle of Battle,
Race proposed: Human, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, or Aasimar

Aebin: Older Brother, Paladin (archer)
Human (1st choice), any half-breed

I realize that most of the character are Dex and or Int based at this table. As we have three siblings and the mum there, we should coordinate on the race while uncle Eston could be whatever he wants.

Oups, double post with the LGM. I'm good with your proposal.

So for Leana, top 3 choices are : Human, Half-Elf and Sylph

Kingmaker Table 1

Thanks for the list anyway, it helps me see if there's anything you all have in common. Although there's not a unanimous option, there's more "Half-Elf" than anything else. I still want everyone's top three, just in case anyone's changed their minds.

As for the family tree, Eston would be Cassandra's father's brother, Aebin is her first-born, Altius her second, and Leana the baby-girl.

Male Orc Expert 5

I have sort of changed my mind. Dhampir (Vetala born), Tiefling (Daemon born) or Sylph still.

The only trick is that Altius is meant to be a different, somewhat scandalous, race. Bringing into question scandals over his lineage and the fidelity of his mother.

Sure, blood like his can pop up out of nowhere after some generations but people still talk.

Human Bachelor of Science 4 / Grad Student 5

Dhampirs can make healing tricky if there's no alchemy in the party. There's easy items to handle a scandalous race—Cloaks of Human Guise and whatnot—but if you're going with "mysterious bloodline that popped up after a generation or two, I'd be happy to go tiefling or sylph (though nobody can ever actually safely dump con) with the same bloodline while everyone else stays human (or half-elf?) and say things skipped a generation. Or we could change the family tree a bit.

Male Elf

Good morning, congratulations, and thank you for the opportunity.

1. Aasimar (ember-kin)
2. Half-elf
3. Human

Mama should be old. Close to 'old age' category in game mechanics. Easily into 'middle age'. Aasimars seem to have the longest life spans over those listed followed by half-elves.

I can easily take 'inflict' spells to make sure the Dhampier stays alive.

Human Bachelor of Science 4 / Grad Student 5

A nearly-old-age Aasimar is ~180 years old. Thaat's... probably too old to have regular adult-sized human children.

Male Elf

More than likely, but it still puts me in middle age, which could mean having children in the last 20-40 years. Since they don't reach adulthood until 60, it's possible. Really just depends on everyone else's age.

Male Human Paladin 7

My race preferences remain the same. A paladin archer is extremely feat hungry so the human bonus feat is important to my build. However I can do half-elf if I need to.

Male Orc Expert 5

I think I've settled on Arcanist.

There's things I want to try and I've played enough wizards.

Kingmaker Table 1

I think everyone can have close to what they want if we meddle with the family unit a bit. Rather than Altius being Cassandra's middle child, he could be Eston's son. I know Eston never married and settled down, but that doesn't mean he never had progeny whose mother tracked Eston down and left the baby at the estate so he could have a better life. That way, you can both be Tieflings. Cassandra can be a half-elf with two human children. Especially if they were born from a human father.

What do you think?

Human Bachelor of Science 4 / Grad Student 5

Sounds good! Depending on how old Altius wants to be, he could also be a grandson.

Sounds good for me as well.

This is Leana's alias. I've nearly finished the character crunch (I'm just missing a little equipment). I'm currently writing the background, but I'm waiting for the confirmation of the race by every one to finish.

Male Orc Expert 5

Works dandy for me!

Human Bachelor of Science 4 / Grad Student 5

I'll probably have time to finish crunch over the weekend. Leana—have you seen the Inspired Blade Swashbuckler archetype? You gain Weapon Focus (rapier) as a bonus feat and don't lose anything but the ability to use non-rapiers.

Leana already is. I just deleted that by mistake, but thanks for the pointer.

Male Elf

Half-elf is fine with me.

Male Human Paladin 7

Sounds good to me. Do you know when gameplay is going to be up?

Male Elf

Can we take a drawback for a 3rd trait?

Planning to take Family Ties ? That would be fun.

Male Elf

That would definitely be interesting...

"Of course honey, you know Mama can't say no to you."

Guess I should roll HPs while I'm at it.

HP: 6d8 ⇒ (7, 6, 3, 7, 5, 2) = 30

Kingmaker Table 1

Yes, feel free to take a drawback for a third trait, and I'll have gameplay up by tomorrow night

Human Bachelor of Science 4 / Grad Student 5

In that case, Leana, I think you've got an extra feat to spend...

Alright, checking in. I went with dreadlocks because low charisma.

Good evening all. Mama is pretty much completed and ready to go.

Inactive

So I guess everyone is at paizocon?

Male Orc Expert 5

Just busy. And making a full spellcaster to my liking is complicated.

Kingmaker Table 1

Also, memorial day weekend...

Just one quick question. Are we just waiting for TarkXT or has someone else still something to do?

Also the gameplay thread is open for dotting.

Male Orc Expert 5

I'll try to be done before I go to work tonight. Trying to finish up a writing project.

Kingmaker Table 1

Yeah, I actually don't mind the delay. I've been having a crazy week. My car is dead, got a new puppy just before that, and I'm starting a new job on Monday.

I'll be ready when you guys are, but frankly I'm not opposed to you taking your time, Haha!

Male Human Paladin 7

When do you expect the game to start up? I don't mind delaying, but I would like to have a time scale so we're not sitting in indefinite limbo.

Kingmaker Table 1

I will have something up by tomorrow night at the latest.

Male Orc Expert 5

I'm so sorry for the delay. Life has been rather unkind the past couple of weeks. If I don't have a character by friday feel free to grab soemeone else.

Kingmaker Table 1

Nah, we'll just leave you in the road, Haha

It's the same with me.

It works. Thanks

Mama is placed.

Male Orc Expert 5

MY sincerest apologies. Between the drama at home and work I simply could not find the time to finish the crunch on my character. Rather than hold the game further I will suggest leaving Altius on the road.

Male Human Paladin 7

Sorry to see you go TarkXT.

GM, can we move things along? I'm not trying to be critical or impatient, but this game is off to a very slow start.

Kingmaker Table 1

Going as fast as I can, bro.

Inactive

We're not waiting on me, are we?

Kingmaker Table 1

No, you have a standard left, so you casted the spell. I just need to get caught up. Unfortunately, I've been working all day. So it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I apologize again for the delay.

Just checking in, everyone ok? Is this still active?

Kingmaker Table 1

still active, busy week. I'll get to you this weekend for sure.
